Conversations between a seminary student and his dad, whose life is a story of grace. Relishing in God's truth and recalling his faithfulness.
Dad and I defend the doctrine of Perseverance of the Saints from Scripture and then discuss why it is important to believe and teach it.
Dad and I discuss the perseverance of the saints, a Biblical doctrine that has proved nourishing and meaningful to both of us. In pt 1 we discuss our personal stories and try to nuance the doctrine. In pt 2, we will present a biblical defense and try to prove the doctrine from Scripture.
Dad describes how he recently almost died from sickness, but God delivered him, and also how his ministry has started again.
Dad begins his testimony of how he heard the voice of God as a young man and was born again, his subsequent ministry, and how God more recently set him free from alcoholism.
Why does Jesus compare himself to the bronze serpent Moses raised up in the wilderness? Also, Dad has a concert coming up in Minnesota!
We discuss how Jesus said the new birth is not optional; no one is going to heaven unless it happens to them. We also address the question, "How can I know if I have been born again."
We discuss how we chose the name "Voice of the Wind." Jesus uses a double word-play in John 3:8: is it "sound of the wind," or "voice of the Spirit?" The new birth is not your choice, it is a sovereign voice. Thank God that my dad responded to it 48 years ago.
