John 3:16 is one of the most famous verses in the entire Bible. And it also teaches us some powerful truth about the resurrection. In this message we are going to look at how we can live in light of Jesus' resurrection.
Here's the reality. We need grace AND truth. Grace sets us free and truth keeps us free. But most of us lean towards grace OR truth. The story of the woman caught in the act of adultery in John 8 teaches us that the best expression of love is found in the tension between grace and truth.
When we are in trouble we run. But that often has us running in the wrong direction. When we run towards Jesus we are not running for nothing. We are running towards freedom and forgiveness that comes only from him.
Most people allow the circumstances of their life to determine their level of contentment. But if we are honest, that doesn't always work out so well. Thankfully, the Bible teaches us a better way to live.
We are all chasing after something or someone in life. We are place our hope in something. The problem is most of the things we place our hope in let us down and leave us wanting more. In this message we are going to look at the things we hope for and how we can find a hope that won't disappoint.
It is estimated that 95% of the time we are thinking about ourselves. The reality is we are a self-centered people. And the Bible challenges us to think about ourselves less. Not to think less of ourselves, but to think about ourselves less.In Philippians 2 we are going to see how we can actually do that.
In Philippians 1 we see Paul describe the circumstances he finds himself in... And they aren't great. Yet despite that he says in Philippians 1:18 "Yes, and I will continue to rejoice." We tend to view fear as a negative thing, something to be avoided and dealt with. When we see phrases like "the fear of the Lord" in the Bible it can be confusing.
