The only airplane drama of the 1930s with a female lead, Ann of the Airlanes portrays a young woman, Ann, who wants to be an air hostess. The series was created in part due to the popularity of Amelia Airhart, even though Ann herself was not a pilot in the series. She did, however, work for the secret service, as did her romantic interest, Jack.
