It has been my dream to know more about why human beings do what they do for a long time in my life. When I was in pre-university, I started to get the hint that it was found somewhere in statistics. So I used to count the number of times I would see patterns in behavior, such as the number of times I would lie, how hard it was for me to get up from bed, and why it was hard for me to get up from bed, and the like.
There was a pattern associated with it...the prevailing belief conducted my actions. If I was scared of someone's action - meaning I was not really sure of what they would do (because of the wide variability in the person's options), I had a higher tendency to lie to them. This is why we are less likely to lie to our friends than we are to our parents as children.
On the days it was hard for me to get up from bed, I examined my thoughts and found that there was a recurring pattern also. The most important factor was if I slept well enough, but a recurring theme was also how important I saw what I was doing when I woke up.
This is a very important concept that I was developing - my beliefs dictate my actions - but is that true?

When I was younger, I also started to get very engrossed in Greek culture, and I wanted to live in Greece because my thought was that if I knew more about their ways, I would understand science and measurement more.
Who would have thought that they also were puzzled about belief the way I was. Although I was pondering mostly in my toilet and bathroom, the ancient Greek philosophers pondered as they fought for their life.
Among those who brought humans to an understanding about belief and actions were the ancient Greek philosophers Plato and Aristotle, who dug deep into what belief and knowledge were. These were in the era before Christ.

Those who understood belief and actions saw them more through the lens of religion. Prominent among them were the Christian theologians (St. Augustine and Thomas Aquinas), the Islamic, and the Jewish philosophers.
Their contribution to belief was to uncover the purely faith-based nature of belief.
In the 17th and 18th centuries, it was the period of empirical knowledge, and it was applied in the understanding of belief. John Locke and David Hume brought mankind to the understanding of the origin and the nature of belief. They took belief away from faith and brought it back to academia.
Modern Times

Much of what is applied in understanding and fixing problems related to belief were brought to us by the more modern thinkers of the 19th and 20th centuries, like William James and Sigmund Freud.
Without them examining belief, there would be no application in modern psychology and psychiatry. They applied the crude knowledge gathered by the ancient philosophers and theologians (often times from different languages) into their practice and made detailed documentations of facts that apply to this day.
Because of what they thought, the world other theories about belief began to emerge that associated belief and attitude change, as seen from the social psychologist in the mid-20th century, like Leon Festinger and Fritz Heider. There were also theories around the development of belief in children and adolescents explored by Jean Piaget and Lawrence Kohlberg, the cognitive psychologist.

In the 1950s, while cognitive psychologists were working, Leon Festinger, a social psychologist found that there was a separate relationship between belief and action that needed to be examined.
He found that when a person's belief and action do not align, it creates discomfort or dissonance. People will go to different lengths to stop the discomfort, including changing their belief.
Take for example a smoker who knows that smoking is unhealthy. They may experience cognitive dissonance while they smoke and continue holding this belief. They may say that they only smoke occasionally to reduce the discomfort, but over time, continuous rationalization will lead them to believe something different about smoking.
If applied in reverse, when the smoker avoids smoking and reduces the frequency as time goes by, their belief about smoking begins to change.
This is why fitness trainers say "just show up" to the gym. It makes all the difference when you put in the work.
The application of cognitive dissonance is used in social psychology, although there is a lot of debate on the extent to which it can be applied.

In conclusion belief and action are closely intertwined, with beliefs often dictating actions. The ancient Greek philosophers, Christian theologians, and modern thinkers have all contributed to our understanding of belief.
Cognitive dissonance is the discomfort that arises when beliefs and actions don't align, can lead to changes in belief. This concept is used in social psychology, though there is debate about its application.

It is also an encouragement for the victims to come forward and ask for help, to know that they are not alone and there is a way out.
It was one of my favorite songs at some point and I am glad to be presenting it to you…I think I messed up the songs name in the video but…I hope you can forgive me and I hope you enjoy it.
I think it is a melodic dose of reality, some people’s reality and as sad as it is, it just is.

I have run for the love of my profession a couple of times, someone's life is on the line, and they need blood so I'll have to go speak up to the lab attendant on their behalf. Or maybe I was studying in my room for an exam and I get told that the invigilators have come...stuff like that.
I guess moments of extreme emotion and adrenaline are preparing me for a moment when I will run for love...who knows?

This week's theme was selected by @magicfingerz and its title is “Voice of hope”. With the world going in its current direction, deep into a recession and the prices of everything reaching all-time highs and the markets reaching all-time lows, I think the world needs some hope.
I decided to dust up the string box (not really you can see all that harmattan dust all over the guitar) and play an old classic, one I sang a while ago but it resonates so well with the theme.
Humans are social creatures, aren’t we? I think the only reason why we behave this way is because of the compounding effect of helping one another.
If a doctor helps the engineer and the engineer makes good roads, the musician can inspire both of them to do their jobs for more people and so on and so forth.
This is a fun video of two chimps helping each other and look! One of them even has a dull.
It is interesting to see that some of our love for each other is instinctual and can be seen in other primates.

Hello Afritunes, I really want to apologise that I am so late this week. I was very interested in posting but a lot came up this week. It's not like I have been preparing for Christmas or anything but things unnaturally came up, you wouldn’t believe.
Anyway, for today’s presentation, I come with a classic that is loved by our great nation Nigeria by the masked singer Lagbaja. His songs are a national treasure and have been there for ages but I began to fall in love with them only 10 years ago. A little background for the song I madeThe song I made was a freestyle, why was it a freestyle, I couldn’t come up with a good enough song to cover (or write) for the week. So I thought long and hard for a song and found nothing. White Christmas came to my mind for a while but I don’t know the lyrics past “just like the ones I use to know” and it kind of makes it impossible to sing.
So I did this freestyle about the reality that we do not have any winter in Nigeria, what we have instead is HAMATTAN and it is very different from Winter (which I did my best to highlight in this song).
One of the main differences is the dust, in fact, for all the snow that appears in winter, there is a lot more dust to go around in Nigeria. The dust comes from the Sahara desert and blows down here, at least that’s what I heard.
In the lyrics of this song are my thoughts as I played the guitar. The only preconceived part was, “there’s dust in the air, there’s dust everywhere, there’s dust on your yard and there’s dust on your car”

In case you are thinking that is me hallucinating then you are wrong. I am talking facts right at you. The thyroid gland is a butterfly-shaped organ in the neck covering the trachea.
This organ is an endocrine organ that produces a special hormone with a special name that is so hard to remember…(ITS CALLED THE THYROID HORMONE GENIUS)... oh yeah..that’s the name thyroid hormone.
The thyroid hormone reaches every cell of the body because that’s what endocrine hormones do, they circulate through the whole body including the brain and cause changes in the way cells to behave.
The thyroid hormone is like the spinach that Popie takes to save the day except it's for the whole body. If you watched Popie then you know that when people take spinach he becomes active and starts to do all this stuff. When it’s the same for the cell too except the cell doesn’t go around the smoking pipe and try to save girls unless you tell it to.
The thyroid gland makes the cell very active and one of the cell's favourite activities is called metabolism. Where it is instead in making and breaking substances or anabolism or catabolism.
The cell needs the thyroid hormone so it's not slow and dull and lazying about like me. But if you give too much of this hormone to the cell it could become very hardworking and not have any time for itself to rest…like a typical Nigerian.
In this post I am going to be talking about how to spot thyroid disorders, what causes these disorders, the test a doctor may request and the treatment of these disorders as what makes it a very severe case or a mild one.

In a thyroid disorder, there is either too little or too much of the hormone being secreted. When the thyroid gland produces too little it is called hypothyroidism and when the body produces too much it is called hyperthyroidism.

Well, it all starts in the Head, yes you heard me right the head. In the human head or skull there is an organ called the Pituitary gland and besides sounding like a gland for saliva PITUI!! It’s the master gland I’M LEAVING YOUR CLASS YOUR RACIST BIGOT!! No I mean it tells all the other endocrine glands what to do through its secretions.
The pituitary gland secretes the thyroid-stimulating hormone alongside other hormones like growth hormone, prolactin, oxytocin and others that are not important to this topic.

So what this Thyroid stimulating hormone does is go to the thyroid hormone and tell it to secret the thyroid hormones.

Thyroid disorders can affect anyone but women are more affected than men
You are at more risk of a thyroid disorder if you have a family member with a thyroid disorder, you have diabetes and some other medical condition, you are a woman in your 60s and older or you have had a thyroid disorder before.
TestsThe tests done to know what might be wrong with a person who has the features of thyroid disorder include physical examinations to fee the thyroid gland for abnormalities, blood tests to assess the levels of the hormones of the thyroid gland, imagining tests like ultrasounds to know if there are structural abnormalities in the thyroid gland.
Management and TreatmentHormone replacement medication may be used for those with hypothyroidism and those that have hyperthyroidism may take medication depending on the cause of the disorder and may require surgical intervention.
PrognisisThe survival rate for people with thyroid diseases is as high as 100% even for cancers.
You can do a self-examination of the thyroid gland at home, all you need is a mirror and a glass of water.
You can identify the thyroid around the neck between the clavicle and Adam's apple.
Tilt your head backwards and watch yourself while swallowing if you will see a bump on the thyroid.

Hello Hive Open Mic. I am glad to present you this song that took me 2 days to compose. It is one of my best so far but what is scary is, I don’t know the meaning. I think I am singing about an angel anyway because of the features of the person beside me (in the song). The person was glowing at the end of the song and took me to the sky.
I also think it's God or some other mystical being, but I am not sure, weird right? How do I write a song and not know who it is for?
Then there was the initial thought I had and that was that it was for a lover who saved me from bad times. I actually had a dream like that once.
To say the truth besides all my theories is the last one and that’s that it's based on Peter Pan. Flying above the sea. My initial lyrics included references to captain hook but today when I was working on the song I let go of that idea and just went with what was on my mind which was whatever rhymed and felt good.

Some people believe that shaving their hair grow thicker or that standing on the head will make blood more flow to the head and increase circulation. People also think that hair loss affect only smart women or that 100 brush stokes per day is all that is necessary for health hair growth.
SYMPTOMS AND CAUSES
One of the commonest causes of hair loss in women is styling such as tight corn rows braids or ponytails. It called traction alopecia. This loss can be permanent. Other causes are deficiencies in vitamins poor eating habits.

Abnormal thyroid
Some drugs like some anti-hypertensives, drugs for gout and vitamin A---menopause
Hormonal changes in pregnancy can also causes these.

Hello Afritunes. I am super excited to be singing this week for you again. For about the 10th week if I am not mistaken. Afritunes is gradually approaching a year of singing together and it kind of sucks that I was not here from the very start but we are here now and I think that is what matters if you ask me.

Hello Hive Open Mic Community, I am glad to be participating this week. I was able to sit and think for a moment and make an original. It’s mainly one verse and a chorus but what I love about the Hive Open Mic weekly is that eventually I will find another theme very similar to this one and I’ll have the chance to make something new with it. I wrote this song because whenever I go out to realize that there are so many people suffering in one way or another other but they find the chance to smile and be happy and to me, that’s a real miracle because life is very difficult. Hope this miracle, this magic never ends in our lives.
Where you see it the most is when you work in the hospital. I’ve seen people who have few days left share moments that would break your heart. Part of the reason I have been taking a break from work is partly that the strength to be back there has been lacking in me also I want to be able to work in a specific department.

Hello Afritunes, THis week I started recording clueless again. I was not sure what I would sing and that’s a serious problem. Whenever I get hit with cluelessness the next thing I think of is giving up on the week. But this has been maybe a month of posing and posting means keeping up with my musical talent and keeping up with it is one step close to fighting off depression and fatigue.
This week I did a remix of a song by musical legend John Mayer who isn’t African but I have been having this remix of his song for the longest time and I wanted the Afritunes family to see it.

I was going to add a cool effect where it looked like the old video and the new video would merge but I couldn’t download the video from 3speaks then I checked everywhere around my chaotic laptop to find the old video and gave up after 3 seconds. I never name the files right so, I really do badly to myself most times when I need them.
This song was inspired by the Marriage Story which is the sad story of the divorce court having its way with a couple.
I really hope we never experience such a thing.

Hola Hive Open Mic. Ha pasado un minuto, pero me alegro de estar de vuelta y sé que os encanta verme de vuelta. Espero que estéis teniendo una bonita y flamante semana. Para esta semana he decidido rehacer una vieja canción original y añadirle algo de carne. Aquí está la antigua versión en la que hice una animación para el vídeo.
Iba a añadir un efecto chulo en el que parecía que el vídeo antiguo y el nuevo se fusionaban, pero no pude descargar el vídeo de 3speaks y luego busqué por todas partes en mi caótico portátil para encontrar el vídeo antiguo y me rendí después de 3 segundos. Nunca nombro bien los archivos así que, realmente me hago mal a mí mismo la mayoría de las veces cuando los necesito.

This is yet another dope track from 2face, now tu baba.
I use to vibe to this song throughout my junior secondary school years and I swear it was one of my favourites. Back then we live in an area with water issues and I and my brother would sing songs over a long distance to fetch water. Thinking about those dark times, I wonder how we got through it with a clear mind.

I came across a post where Jordan Peterson explained how males and females are different and can be narrowed down to the People-Thing paradigm.
In case you don’t know what the People-Thing paradigm is, it is simply put this way, Men are interested in things and women are interested in people.
This is something 3 years ago I had never thought about. I was hooked up on the equality front and I always felt that men and women were the same. Which is weird given that I did I passed my anatomy very well and had an A in Endocrine physiology.

I read a Vox post about a google engineer who pointed out this difference in a memo and he lost his job
The post was titled We’ve studied gender and STEM for 25 years. The science doesn’t support the Google memo.
These are some issues that males simply do not have to face. The “anxiety gap” exists for a reason, and it is not about biology.

The vox writers claimed that the issue was mainly due to the study referenced in the book being an outlier study.
I saw another post by the Harvard Business school where they explained that
Women make up 20% of engineering graduates, but it’s been estimated that nearly 40% of women who earn engineering degrees either quit or never enter the profession. Some elementary and high school reforms are working, but those at the college level are not.
After the study, they read and analyzed the stories in these diaries and deduced that the difference was more likely because women were treated differently in their workplaces.
I have seen this sentiment raised many times that the reason women do not do well in male-dominated spheres is the fact that they are not at ease simply because of discrimination.
I have an example in the chess community but I will save that for another post.

Hello Hive Open Mic. I am glad to be posting this week. The theme was a tough one for me, but shout out to @sekani for bringing fire. I chose James Bunt's Beautiful because it talks about a missed opportunity.
I did some video editing like I like doing these days. I hope you like it. I tried to add some acting to the intro.
NOTE I am just having fun with all this.
The song is a sad song, and most men have felt this way, that does not say women haven't but I think it is more common for men because we are encouraged to talk to women but there are so many barriers to doing it.
In James' story, it was a man who was drunk and still ended up with "a moment that would last till the end" as he would say. In our modern society, men are encouraged to man up and talk to women while still shaming them to think that they are dirty and all they want is sex.
Lucky for me I spray anti-shame perfume and walk out every day...you can not shame the shameless.

The theme for this week created an easy choice of song to sing. No Woman No Cry Bob Marley. Alright the next thing, how do I sing this song without feeling like a hypocrite? That's supposed to be easy too. But it's not. You see, I have made a little bit of a reputation out of what some would call "trashing women". But I don't call it that. I think Fireboy stamped his place as a musician with this track because right now there is so much pressure for him to keep on coming up with hits and he never disappoints. Hey, I promise this is the last time I rebrand. But seeing as we live in a society where you can change your brand identity at anytime, this is the new me.
If you have been following up with my blog loosely then you might know that I have been having difficulty having a place to stay in western Nigeria. Me and some friends got together and rented an apartment in Bodija Ashi Ibadan and I have to tell you, if you take away the fact that you have to be on your guard because of the security history if the place, you might not realise that the light here is also not perfect.
After investing $49 in an art course, my phen got unbeleivebly bad and now I struggle to stay relevant on Hive. Kind of reminds you of what the queen of hearts said to Alic in the wonderland when she spoke of her kingdom. To stay in one place you have to keep running.
I am doing just that, but I am also trying my best to run away from the idea that things won't get better, because, they just have to.
The theme I like the theme for this week because it gave me the opportunity to revisit a song I have sang before with a piano and it is one of my favorite guitar songstitled motherland by Sound Soltan (RIP). These are some concepts I have jleaned from renowed psychologist Jordan Pertson
In this video, I want to talk about the lies that people are telling the next generation. The victim narrative. I think it is a common theme in storytelling. It's very important as we have been thought in the literature that stories have to have a protagonist and an antagonist. This is why woke culture keeps pushing this narrative into the heads of young people.

The first thing I want to make clear is that there is no tyrannical society with male oppressors and female victims. At least that is not what a perfect society strives to accomplish.
Society is built on competence or at least that is what it is supposed to be built on.
Now, this is where people will hate me...and I don't care anymore. If you rate people based on competence for leadership roles men have been historically more capable than women for these roles.
Take the presidency in this country for example. Many people will say that women can fill the role of a president but if you even try to think about a woman working as hard as Peter Obi...you might have a headache.
I know everyone can have their different options about Buhari but think about any woman that could fail and come out as many times as he did and you immediately see a drop in number. But you know men your age who are due hard like that...you see them all around you.
Most women don't want this role. Did I say all I said most? But there are many men today who are putting in 80 hours a week gunning for the title. They do this day in and day out for years and when they get it you have the guts to call out the patriarchy.
So that's leadership...now look around you starting from the phone you hold in your hand to the walls to the roof and the clothes you are wearing. More men were involved in the production and distribution of those goods and services.
Then you look at security and I know security is terrible by global ratings but most policemen are men.
Men are interested in protecting and providing.
If you had a choice between two people a man and a woman to protect your same body weight...unless you are trying to prove a point or you knew something extra about the two of them you'd pick a man.
For some reason, it has become a bad thing to be a woman and our society tries to push this narrative on younger people. Women are more nurturing and I didn't make it that way...biology did.
If you had to pick whom you'd leave your child in a daycare centre between a man and a woman who would you pick? Don't you think that man is more of a threat to that child than a woman...the natural choice?
Because our society is so focused on warping reality than embracing our differences, it keeps pushing this narrative of female protectors and providers and the female lady boss.
We reduce the physical cut-off for women to join the police and army while all the while saying that we are equal. They'll receive equal pay and when the job demands them to step up to the role they can't.

Good day ladies and gentlemen I'm @ebingo medical doctor and creative and I decided to participate in this week's Hive Open Mic after I saw @fernanblog performance and his cool thumbnail where he was hanging off the wall like spiderman. I also say @jasperdick Performances with his daughter's instruments and it was the most adorable content I have seen on Hive. I strive to be a man like him someday and it was such an inspiration to see him being the loving father that he is.
I enjoyed @hopestylist's performance too. She's such a superstar and she's taking over the blockchain.
My performance is an acapella...sort of. Well, it's just humming and snapping to say the truth but what I'm happy about and this is something I just have to share with @dreemsteem is that I found a video editing software that actually works for PC. It's similar to the ones used by professional video editors and it's so cool.
I found many short YouTube tutorials and now I'm a video editor. So add that to my credentials.
Them is also cool for the performance. Creativity and freestyle. Ok...I didn't freestyle but I could if you wanted me to.

This used to be one of my favourite songs. I remember jamming to this around the early 2000s. It is one of those songs that tried to warn younger men about the wrongs the other sex was capable of...or was it a wrong..or was Dijini just a wimp. I doubt it but whatever.
I use to be so scared of the lyrics weirdly, on several occasions, these experiences found their way to my reality. They don't run away from fear, run towards it. Break through it. So in a way, every heartbreak song prepares you for the future and that future can only be made when you scatter those walls of fear.

Ask full of stars Whenever I think of a sky full of stars another thing comes to mind as unrelated as it may seem...I find that owl cities fireflies is a similar vibe. In my mind its a lovely evening with the sky beautifully lit.
I really like the art of expressing ones self. The creative arts...animation. I want to pain the world with my mind but its very difficult to do all the things I wish to do with so many distractions around.

I remember listening to this song over and over when my nephew was sick. I was a medical student at the time and I didn't know what to do to make him feel better. He had diarrhoea and I had no clue how to deal with it and he kept sicker.
That moment was a weird one for me because I knew I all I wanted was for him to feel better...we had tried everything we could to stop the symptoms but he kept feeling worse.
I've done my internship now and I know better now.
I sang this song this week because of the theme, nothing is impossible. I know that there is no limit to human spirit and with purpose...I mean purpose whose meaning is found on the people or the things you love, then there we really start seeing magic happening.
I Believe in magic...not the kind that Haudini does. I'm about the impossible things. Many people won't believe that I use to be last in my class growing up as a child but being a medical doctor means that I'm at least an intelligent person.

Hello Afri Tune, I got it right this week, it is Afri Tunes week 25. I featured @bhoa this week but he didn't sing. I am trying to encourage the shy boy to get involved a little in singing. Not for much other than his mental health. I read a study that 90 mjns of singing can help with depepression.

My main reason to stay grounded in learning Spanish is that it is the second most common language in the world in terms of native speakers. Right after mandarin meaning, there is a lot of the language that is lost in translation and a lot of beauty that is yet to be experienced when you don't know the language.
The other equally important reason is that on Hive and 3 speaks there are a lot of Spanish posts that are either never translated to English or are poorly done by software. Rarely do we have bilinguals translate the language as it is expressed in English.
Another reason I want to do this is that I know that there are people who would love to learn Spanish but don't know where to go. Now far from a teacher, I want to be a learner who shows his studies off I guess.

Hello Q-inspired, today I'm writing about one of my favorite albums of last year. It is hard to describe the effect this album had on me.
During the time the album came out, there was a lockdown affecting the whole of Nigeria...and the world really. But gradually we were coming out of it.
I went home to Bayelsa to be with my parents and since medical schools were closed too, I decided that I would take up sports to fill the void.
The next thing that happened was that the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) went on strike and it held down my set of doctors around the country.
After waiting about 6 months for the CCOVID lockdown to be over the ASUU went on a 3-month strike.
Around the world During the lockdown, some schools around the world allowed medical students to graduate and join the workforce as early as possible.
Also, young doctors were very essential at the time. Many of our seniors were affected and died during this period.
Boxing During that period I started taking boxing training, preparing for the National sports festival. It was a beautiful moment to see just how much I could push myself to accomplish.
I was not good enough to be selected but I got into the ring a couple of times and my coach said that it was a good sign that I was not afraid to fight.
Sacrifices My favorite song in the album was Sacrifices, at the time I was listening to a lot of Jordan Peterson's lectures and he made me more certain that Mental Health was the path I was going to follow in Medicine.
He talked about how Sacrifices were what separated Cane and Abel in the bible.

In the song, they talk about how they put everything into their art and how love demands sacrifices.
J. Cole especially talks about the consequences of what he made from sacrifices and love. He talks about his wife and all he wants to be for her.
If I was going to win then I had to make some sacrifices myself.
I also started seeing some ways I could have given more in medical school and in my relationships with people and ways in which I let people treat me bad.
Down Down Bad
This is the song that I used for most of my shadow boxing. Initially, I didn't have a space to shadow box in because I refused to tell my parents that I was training for the sports festival.
When I did, she did not have the response I thought she would. She trusted that I knew what I was doing and just like she supported me in medicine, she was supportive of this too even though she had more warnings.
So it was me and the Revenge of the Dreamer III preparing for the sports festival that I eventually did not go for.
The beat and the style of the song were just perfect for those jabs, hooks, and uppercuts.
It was this song that inspired the art for this post. The reason I chose to do this was to elicit a reaction from the whole mess.
I chose to use colors that are Nigerian and would attract the nation's attention.
Just like Ruth E. Carter did in the movie Do The Right Thing where she made characters connect with African countries with their clothes.
My character is super Nigerian but he is out of this world too because he can't exist.
For him to exist, he would have to be out of the country and love the country so much that he represents it so openly and those two conditions can't be met.

Crazy how Nigerian Health care system doesn't want you to love yourself. While I agree with the fact that a doctor should be neat, I do not think that it is in any one place to tell the doctor how to be neat.
I like this song because it encourages us to accept ourselves as a solution to toxic love.
Also, if a patient doesn't want to be attended to by a doctor, it's the patient's problem, but if no one wants a certain doctor to attend to them... it's the doctor's problem.
I added the material design to my character's tie because the Nigerian flag has just green and white and you can't go anywhere but into patterns when you consider the colors.
Revenge It is crazy how the Medical association could not fight for itself and till now it can't.
I saw a school trending because its medical school didn't want to be part of the ASUU strike but people said that the students were being selfish and that there is nothing special about them.
I beg to differ.
These people have been stressed and have high expectations and are fighting to be paid a small salary when compared to the work that they will be doing.
In my institution, things are only getting worse. Things are so bad that there has been a 90% drop in the number of Intern doctors.
It has caused stress everywhere in the system and it has been slowly happening and the people left behind are left to suffer and they threaten us with punishments if we do not work.
I started boxing because it would confuse those people who think that a doctor who knows the danger would involve himself in it.
I hoped do more revolting things in the future...but my job is trying to slow me dow.
My Art I really hope I can offend the right kind of people with this artwork so they know what is going on.
They are so focused on the wrong things in the country, like how we look while working and not the work we do.

This week we laid Dr Chinelo to rest. She was my senior in school and she got shot during the attack that took place on the Kaduna Abuja rail road.
I really can not tell you how it makes me feel. Just like she did, I had plans of going to the North to hustle for a better life there and leave the country.
She must have said all that God forbids, she must have prayed against a moment like this but Nigeria still made it happen.
Sometimes I think about this country and it makes me want to run...but here is someone who had everything ready to leave and Nigeria didn't let her.
That same day, many other people died and would have died...it was a matter of timing.
The saddest part of all this The government is trying to hide it. Hospitals were being flooded with victims but on the news was another thing.
I really hate it in this country. I really hope we all can make it passed the time we spend in this country and not have the country happen to us.

A few days back I tried getting back into Hive and I jumped head first into it and felt a bit of push back.
It was my post on Q-inspired...it was not not much of what the community wanted and I ended up being muted.
But I woke up one early morning and saw @mipiano's comment and explanation on the post and immediately I felt a song come to me out the words wants more.
So here is the story, @mipiano has always been the kind to bring hard work from me...even when I don't know how to be that way at the moment she brings it out of me. So this song really really goes out to her...well at least the chorus is...the rest is a mash up of what I thought would fit in.

When Louis Armstrong wrote this song, I don't know if he thought he would be connecting with the whole world. I have heard so many versions and amongst them, my favourite is still by Isreal IZ.
I first heard it in Grey's anatomy. After a bad episode where a character everyone loved died, they probably played it to dull the mood down. Then I think I heard it on American idol. All this happen probably when I was 10.
Right now I've struggled with Israel's version many times but I haven't gotten it. But I will.

You never see the problems coming. I swear you don't. Sometimes the problems promise not to show up...but they do.
Just today I had to take a bashing from my seniors from an event that was totally my fault. If you could see the direction the punch is coming from sometimes, you'd duck or block. You'd find one way to protect yourself because the alternative is getting hurt.
The end I'm gradually drawing the curtain on my internship program and lots of things are on my mind. Like how to stay earning in these times, how to keep pursuing my goal of getting out of the country and if things are right to leave...how to leave everything behind.

First of all, I'm sirry its been so long since my last post. I hope you'll forgive me.
The post When I read the 12 rules by Jordan Peterson I didn't know I would get this strong meaning out of it. In one of the chapters of 12 Rules for Life we are encouraged to be truthful and at least to the extent that we know to be true.
Expressing yourself is such an important part of daily living and I have tried to grow stinger in it...but I still find that I am more of a passive-aggressive actor when it comes to speaking my mind.
It is important to speak your mind and not allow people to put peppers into you your eyes, but equally important is knowing when to express yourself. It is an unspoken truth that you can be destroyed by your honesty.
I evaluated the Rosa Park story where she stood up to authorities by sitting down...I got to find out that she had gradually worked her way into being safe with such trouble.
In another section of that book Jordan wrote, he said that it is important to not bother children when they are skateboarding. Gradually building competence and the ability to deal with fear and dangerous situations is important.
My Art I picked up my pen and book and I have started sketching again. As it turns out, I am not much of a terrible artist. It will take some time to get back to the level I want to be But it's best I start don't you think.
I don't totally understand the drawing but there are some taboos in Africa attached to clay pots and calabashes, men not allowed to carry them and what not...I thought it would be cool if that was where men were made and I tried to relate it to the taboo of speaking out.

In October 2020, there was a shoot-out in Lagos Nigeria at Leki toll gate. People died and many were injured. The government of Nigeria tried to cover it up and said that some unknown forces had highjacked the protest.
We waited for about a year and the government is still yet to hold those responsible, but at least investigations have started to look into the matter.
Going back to how things were, it was a beautiful protest. We were organized and we made sure no one law faulting the law. We would be no better than the government we were fighting against if we did.
We tried to get the attention of the UN by protesting for 100 days but they managed to stop that by killing innocent people on the street.

I wish the abuse of power ended in government, you wouldn't see some kind of evils being perpetrated in broad daylight.
Just recently a Nigerian Musician was caught on camera fighting a Cab driver who was rude to him and the artist demanded that he kneel down and beg him. When the cab driver refused he stomped on the man's car windows and that's what caused the fight.

En octubre de 2020, hubo un tiroteo en Lagos, Nigeria, en la puerta de peaje de Leki. La gente murió y muchos resultaron heridos. El gobierno de Nigeria trató de encubrirlo y dijo que algunas fuerzas desconocidas habían secuestrado la protesta.

In October 2020, there was a shoot-out in Lagos Nigeria at Leki toll gate. People died and many were injured. The government of Nigeria tried to cover it up and said that some unknown forces had highjacked the protest.
We waited for about a year and the government is still yet to hold those responsible, but at least investigations have started to look into the matter.
Going back to how things were, it was a beautiful protest. We were organized and we made sure no one law faulting the law. We would be no better than the government we were fighting against if we did.
We tried to get the attention of the UN by protesting for 100 days but they managed to stop that by killing innocent people on the street.

I wish the abuse of power ended in government, you wouldn't see some kind of evils being perpetrated in broad daylight.
Just recently a Nigerian Musician was caught on camera fighting a Cab driver who was rude to him and the artist demanded that he kneel down and beg him. When the cab driver refused he stomped on the man's car windows and that's what caused the fight.

En octubre de 2020, hubo un tiroteo en Lagos, Nigeria, en la puerta de peaje de Leki. La gente murió y muchos resultaron heridos. El gobierno de Nigeria trató de encubrirlo y dijo que algunas fuerzas desconocidas habían secuestrado la protesta.

Thinking about secret love takes me back to how things used to be a few years back. With the then "love of my life" or lives seeing as I completely assume and let my guard down for these people and find myself down in the mix...they too get hurt...But let's not dwell on that.
The silliest of them all was this affair I had when I was 14 and still learning now to mess around with best friends.
I asked the then main love my life to be my girlfriend and she said NO. Her best friend came around to give me advice on how to get her and we ended up liking each other.
Then I asked the best friend out maybe a week later and she went to meet her best friend for her blessings who was the main love of my life.
The main love my life didn't like the fact that I liked her friend and her...made me look like scum...you know?
Eventually, I felt bad and just crawled into my shell.
What I would give to take such situations seriously right now
That week was a transition for me. From being so hurt that I would be in tears (SMH Not manly Ebingo) to being so much in love.

Pensar en el amor secreto me lleva a cómo eran las cosas hace unos años. Con el entonces "amor de mi vida" o vidas viendo como asumo completamente y bajo la guardia por estas personas y me encuentro en la mezcla... ellos también resultan heridos... Pero no nos detengamos en eso.

When I saw the theme for the week, I saw more of a challenge. I have always wanted to write a song about love and the love of my life and how love has felt from my experience.
I have had beautiful moments that almost drive me to tears whenever I think about them. But I am alone now, and I always feel that's how the story always ends as adults...we always end up alone...
But it depends where you start the story from. One might even say we always end up with people...the right ones.

When I saw this week's theme, I kind of got the idea, new year new motivation, and all that.
I wanted to do Aloe Blacc's Wake me up, but I remember doing that at some point last year. So I wanted something different.

I was looking for a song to cover and I decided to do this work of art. It is the best Nigerian breakup song in my books the whole of last year.
Thunder fire you This is a Nigerian insult that expresses a wish for a person to be struck by lightning. I really don't know when it started but there is a flaw in the statement that we realize once we all grow and get to high school (When we have been using that statement for close to a decade) and that's that thunder does not strike anyone.
Thunder is the sound that lightning makes after it strikes but in order to use that information we would sound absurd now wouldn't it?
"Lightening fire you!"...so weird.
Even though lightning carries current it doesn't carry the weight the "ER" in THUNDER carries and makes for a better insult.
The lyrics The song is a heartbreak song as I have already said. But it is not the typical kind of "you hurt me and I'm leaving" kind of heartbreak song.

Estaba buscando una canción para hacer un cover y decidí hacer esta obra de arte. Es la mejor canción de ruptura nigeriana en mis libros durante todo el año pasado.

Hello hive, 3 speak, and stemsocial. I'm Dr. Ebingo and I want to highlight some parts of the Money Heist series (particularly season 5) that had some inaccuracies.
The first one I talk about is the fact that the professor was able to tell that the investigator Alicia who was in the active phase of labor was presenting in breach (that is when a baby is coming out of the birth canal with its buttocks).
In the situation, the professor was in there was no way he could tell with his hands tied behind his back in a dark room.
In a normal obstetric setting, he would have to inspect the vagina during a vaginal examination, feel the abdomen of the woman and listen to the position of the child's heart in relation to the woman's abdomen to suspect it was a breech presentation and finally to confirm that suspicion he'd have to do an ultrasound scan.
The second inaccurate part This was in a particular scene where one of those soldiers who tried to sabotage the heist was moving through the vent to accomplish her new mission...to be a surprise attacker.
When she landed out of the vent she carries a large volume of blood from her bleeding abdomen that drops to her shoe. That drop rate gave off the rate of active bleeding that was taking place and from an injury, she sustained a day ago...she should have been dead by the morning at that rate.
But she goes off and still accomplished that mission that made us sad.
the third one This is one that is a theme in the whole series that just appears to be flawed. On later thought, however, I can see why the scriptwriters didn't see the need to fix this one.
It is the fact that the professor gets shot in the foot and no medical intervention is done for him all through the series.
Then again he is the Professor and he can spot diagnose breech presentation. LOL

I did this today because I want to get back to my habit of making music of music community and engaging here too.
The song stay by Rihannaer was composed by the name written on the title and was written by them too. The song was design to have emotional significance to both Rihanna and Mikky who worked to build that said significance over time.
Key, Chords, Beats and Bars The song was played on key C as was Love on the brain. Although I have not done a detailed study on Rihanna's most comfortable keys, its easy to assume she feels comfortable around there.
The chords that make the song are the attention-grabbing C major played in the 3rd inversion on center C, the next is the D minor played in 3rd inversion followed by the A minor, played in the first inversion.
This melody continues throughout the verses and ending of the chorus. The 1st chord is played 3/4 on the beat and the 2nd chord is played 1/4 and the 3rd is played 8/8 to form a bar.
There are 6 bars in the first verse and 2 in the second verse.

I go through mostly Old Nnewi road but I take a diversion so I can circle back there.
I used my Chest camera and I apologize for the horrible footage at first but it got better with time.

I have lost a lot of good friends...and bad ones but losing the good ones hurt the most. Being imperfect is our trademark as humans.
At any moment when I figure out what I am searching for in life maybe I'll stop second-guessing people's intention for loving me and just accept them and their love for me.
But that's not all it's about My loyalty to this team I am in...showing up every day even when it is not so convenient for me. This has to be one of the best decisions I made even though it is a very stressful one and it takes my time and joy away...It has given me a reason to be committed.
The very fabric of the profession allows us to help each other help someone. Just yesterday we all put ourselves at risk to save yet another life...I am glad to know it is what we think it is and we can all rest our minds.

Lealtad y Fidelidad La lealtad y la fidelidad son difíciles de encontrar. Si encuentra a alguien en quien pueda apoyarse ... no se apresure a tirarlo.

I want to apologize to @fernanblog I haven't made a spread the good vibe post and I seemed so optimistic I would but I didn't.
