Then, we talk all things Edwardsville Gun Club with President Dale Steinmetz, who is joined by Board member Justin Remert and his daughter, Bridget, who is "trap help." Steinmetz discusses EGC as "much more than a place to shoot guns," as he describes the hiking, fishing, eating, and social opportunities there, along with the shooting activities, which include trap and a pistol, and a rifle range. Remert describes his journey with the EGC, and he talks about coaching Bridget as a member of the Triad Trap Team. Bridget describes her introduction to the sport and the responsibilities of "trap help."
Finally, we meet with Play It Again Sports Edwardsville store owner Dan Brynildsen, who is joined by his daughters Emma and Anna. Dan talks about the joys of coaching his four children in their various sports and all the great things going on at the store. The girls talk about their latest seasons--Anna is a freshman golfer at Edwardsville HS; Emma plays softball and basketball at Liberty MS.

Next up, Dupo Head Football Coach Zach Klaustermeier is back to talk about his Tigers, the ONLY undefeated team in the ME after 5 weeks. Klaustermeier shares insight into his star quarterback, Deegan Prater, and he talks about the many things he loves about this team. We are joined by MESP Football Pollster and Dupo Alumni Norm Sanders, who shares some historical perspective on the Tigers' hot start.
Finally, we end the show by talking about beach volleyball at McKendree University. We are joined in the studio by coach Bob Vollmer, who began the program there four years ago, and players Brooke Junker and Madi Stevens. Junker, a senior, talks about her decision to switch from indoor to outdoor and join the Bearcat program; Stevens, a freshman, describes her first few months in the sport.

Next up, we visit with one of the area's top girls volleyball teams, the Althoff Crusaders, who are currently ranked #4 in our small school poll. The Crusaders are represented in the studio by Coach Brice Miller, outside hitter Reese Distler, and setter Arista Bunn. Miller describes what he loves about his team, and he breaks down the first 5 weeks of the season. Distler, one of the area's top hitters, talks about the "scrappy" style of the team; Bunn describes the "electricity" surrounding the team this season..

The show kicks off with Jess Cerra, whose upbringing in Whitefish, Montana, and professional endurance sport career led her to start her own athletic bar company. Currently, she serves as VP of Product and Community Development at Alete Active Nutrition. Cerra talks about creating something to help her compete, and how that became a passion for bringing "great tasting, healthy food for athletes." She leads innovation for the brands Vitassium and Saltstick. The former triathlete and professional cyclist also began with her husband, "The Last Best Ride, a gravel cycling event in her hometown of Whitefish, which allocates 20% of its proceeds to helping women pursue education beyond high school."
Next up, it's "KP's Football Corner presented by Dazzling Decor and More." KP breaks down the big games of week 3, and he and Dave go over the rankings, the stat leaders, and the big games for week 4, including a few bold predictions and "KP's Dog of the Week!"
Finally, local volleyball expert Jack Grimm is in the studio for his "Volleyball Report presented by Blue Steel Volleyball Club." Grimm shares the small, large, and inclusive rankings for the local girls volleyball teams, and he and Dave discuss the biggest stories from the first third of the season. Then, Jack shares his thoughts on the upcoming stories he'll be watching as we move into the middle third of the season, along with some highlights of the local stat leaders.

The Eagles have been flying with TWO tournament victories and a perfect 13-0 record. Calla Espenschied's name has been mispronounced more ways than she can count, but she has learned to "just go with it" while she focuses on her busy career as a senior at Waterloo HS. Espenschied is a star on the cross-country course, the basketball court, and the track, and in this conversation she explains how positive self-talk enabled her to run a 30-second PR at the state meet. She also discusses her interest in sports jounalism as the latest intern at the MESP.
Next up, we meet with our biggest group ever, 7 members of the Mascoutah Girls Bowling Team including Coach Crain and team members Lily Herman, Blue Herman, Julia Henderson, Raegan Ewers, Emily Blanchard, and Alanna Johnston. The girls discuss what they love about the sport and what people often misunderstand about it. Coach Crain shares his thoughts on the dedication necessary to succeed in the sport, and the girls share each girl's "personal strike cheer."

Chris Eddy, founder of the Metro East Golf Academy, is attracting 100's of kids to the game of golf. In this interview he outlines the great things going on at his academy this summer. Then, he previews the upcoming girls high school golf season for teams and individuals in the Metro East this fall.
Next, we hear remotely from Stanford Mens Tennis star Kyle Kang, who just won the Edwardsville Futures Pro Circuit event in both singles and doubles. Kang discusses his ability to stay focused during matches, and the subtle support his gets from his mom during competitions. He also delves into what makes the tournament in Edwardsville unique.
Last, we meet with Dr. Arthur Langston of Integrity Spine and Joint Center. Dr. Langston provides 10 important tips for coaches, parents, and athletes themseleves to stay healthy this year.

This episode begins with Belleville West Track & Field HC Alonzo Nelson, who is in the studio to be recognized as the MESPY winners for 3A Team of the Year following the Maroons' 3rd place finish at state. Nelson, who was also recognized as the Teacher of the Year, explains his "do the math" coaching style, which encourages kids to figure out how to solve problems. He is joined by state champions Jalyn Cole (110-meter hurdles) and Troy McLean (400 meters). Cole recalls a "life-changing" conversation with Coach Nelson that kept him from quitting; McLean talks about the challenges of repeating as state champion. McLean and Cole are also recognized as co-MESPY winners for 3A Track Athletes of the Year.
Up next, we are joined by SIUE Golf Coach Derrick Brown, who is joined by his top player, Brady Kaufmann, a rising senior. Brown discusses his recruiting philosophy and what he considers essential to the process of attracting successful players. Kaufman explains why he chose SIUE, and he describes his strengths as an athlete.
Finally, we recognize our Integrity Spine and Joint Center Team of the Month, the 10U Edwardsville Tennis Academy Jr. Team Tennis Team coached by Emily Cimarolli. The team is represented by Sadie Shenefield, Nora Youngman, and Lucy McMahan in the studio. The girls explain what they like about playing JTT, the sport of tennis, and their coach! They also give some encouragement to kids who might be considering trying the sport, and they talk about their upcoming transition to the green ball.

Completing the show, we are joined by Coach Justin Judiscak and Allie Tredway of O'Fallon Girls Soccer, which recently earned the MESPY for 3A Team of the Year with their remarkable state-championship season. Judiscak outlines his general coaching philosophy and the "secrets" to their success: hard work, talent, and character development. Tredway, who led the team in scoring this year, talks about her plans for next year and scoring the state-winning goal.

Mike Suhre is a third-generation owner of Oak Brook Golf Club just outside of Edwardsville. Suhre explains his love for working with kids, and he highlights the upcoming 49th Annual Wilbur Suhre Open, which is a living memorial to his late grandfather. Suhre also describes his latest venture, writing a column for the Edwardsville Intelligencer.
Up next, we are joined by the MESPY winner for 3A Player of the Year, Addie Baldus, center back on the state champion OTHS Girls Soccer Team, which outscored opponents an incredible 101-6 along the way to their second state championship in the last 3 years. Baldus, a Michigan State University commit, discusses why she chose MSU, her emotions when her team won state this year, and the things that made this team so successful.
Rounding out the show, Marie Kaman of Edwardsville HS is the MESPY winner for Field Hockey Player of the Year. Kaman, who was 9th in the STL area for scoring, talks about what she loves about the sport, her "favorite goal of her career," and how she was able to overcome a tough knee injury sustained during her junior year. Kaman, a host of the Jungle, the official sports podcast of EHS, describes her experience throughout her two years in that role, and she gives some advice for high school kids who are considering trying podcasting.

The two seniors and McKendree commits recall their memories from their MESPY-winning season, including their tough Supersectional loss to Springfield. Guidry remarks on Winslow's place in the history of THS sports and where he thinks Thompson might end up.

Hassani Elliott and Kobe Taylor describe the massive improvement from their freshman year to their senior season under the tutelage of Coach Dudley. We began this episode by recognizing Central's Girls Basketball Teams as our MESPY winners for 2A Team of the Year. Coach Nathan Rueter is back to describe his team's tenacious style, and he points out the most memorable wins from his team's incredible season. Rueter is joined in the studio by 1st Team All-State selection Taylor Trame, a 5'11' rising senior. Trame is the MESPY Winner for player of the year, and she describes herself as a "shooter," and she shares some of her goals for her last season at Central.
Next up, Hall of Fame retired sports journalist Steve Porter stops by to discuss the legacy of the late Bennie Lewis of East St. Louis Boys Basketball. "Boss" Lewis is regarded as one of the best in the history of the state, and Porter recounts some of the best games and players in Lewis's illustrious career.
Finally, we talk to Carrollton Hawks Girls Basketball Coach Brian Madson, who led his squad to the state championship game, earning the MESPY for 1A Team of the Year. Pawlow describes his playing days at Althoff and SIUE, his 25-year career as an official, and his coaching journey, which began with Coach Lee at Collinsville.

The Shapiro sisters of Edwardsville are super athletes. Sophia, a sophomore at Edwardsville HS, just finished in the top four in the state in the 100 and 300-meter hurdles. Serena talks about looking forward to joining her sister at EHS and describes their supportive, friendly rivalry. Sophia talks about picking up a new sport this fall: flag football!
Next up, Nolan Keller plays on the Triad HS Basketball and Baseball teams. The junior talks about the recent basketball season in which the Knights reached the super-sectional, and the pitcher/third baseman shares his baseball goals for his high school and college careers.

This show begins with the MESPY winners for Hockey Team of the Year, the Edwardsville Tigers, who won the MVCHA for the second straight year. The Tigers are also recognized as the Integrity Spine and Joint Center Team of the Month, earning Coach Walker a "Stanley Cup." Walker is back in the studio to discuss the team's successful season, the growth of hockey locally, and his team's trip to California. He is joined by goalie Brody Patton and forward Grant Huneke. Patton talks about his preparation both mental and physical, and he recounts his "most memorable save" of the season. Huneke describes his development as a Tiger, his physical style of play, and his plan to continue playing "club hockey at Mizzou."

There are so many stories in the next segment as Bone talks about his time starting for 3 years as a Kahok on the hardwood floor and the baseball diamond. He opens up and shares some amazing stories about playing for legendary coach Virgil Fletcher, and the time "the windows got smashed out when they were playing Lincoln at Edwardsville."
The next phase of Bone's life is explored, as he rewrote the basketball record books at UMSL achieving All-American status and continued to star on the diamond and in the classroom, too. He shares the time the Rivermen "held Larry Bird to 'just' 48 points!"
Coaching basketball for Bone was an "emotional" experience as he returned to Collinsville and led the Kahoks to 10 SWC championships in two decades at the helm. Bone shares his thoughts on his great rival, Edwardsville icon Mike Waldo, and he discusses the greatest player he coached, Richard Keene.
Then, he talks about being the AD at Clayton HS for 13 before retiring.

Rhoten is joined by star swimmer Karis Chen, who was part of 3 EHS swimming records including the individual 100 m breaststroke and 2 relays. Chen talks about how she started in the sport, and she mentions what she'll miss about swimming at EHS next year after she graduates.
Next up, we visit with retired Coach Sharon Petty, who began the Edwardsville HS Field Hockey team in 1973. Petty describes the earliest days of organized team sports for women and the role she played compared to the opportunities enjoyed by women today. Petty, who will be inducted in the EHS Athletic Hall of Fame this February discusses the honor and how she looks forward to sharing the experience "with all the great girls" who played for her.
In the last segment, we recognize the Alton High School Wrestling Program as our Integrity Spine and Joint Center Team of the Month. Coach Eric Roberson is in the studio to accept the honor alongside one of his guys, Marquez Singleton. The show begins with Coach Doug Zerjal, who began the girls flag football program at BE. Zerjal, who is currently the Boys Defensive Coordinator, could not suppress his desire to help start football for the girls at East, and he knew who he wanted to help lead his program, Annyca Wilson. The show begins with Shaw speaking about his busy schedule as the founder and director of the Lincoln School Alumni Foundation, which supports students in the Edwardsville School District, and he highlights the great work done by his foundation.
Then, he goes back and gives insight into growing up in extreme poverty and being amongst the first African American students to integrate the school in 1951. He talks about being the "first black student to earn a varsity letter at EHS," and what becoming a student there meant to him personally and as an athlete.
Next, Shaw talks about his brief but brilliant career as a three-sport athlete at IL State University before joining the army. After serving in the military as primarily an athlete, Herman describes working at "the Alton Mental Hospital" where he successfully initiates group therapy--something regarded as standard now, but that was considered "radical" then.
From there, Shaw catches the attention of a school board member in University City, who persuades him to join the district, where he eventually works doing incredible work with at risk kids for 32 years.
Clearly, Herman Shaw's 90 years have left an indelible mark on his community, and he ends with his wish to be remembered as a man who "loved his community."

The show begins with singles champion, Gavin Young, the top player at the University of Michigan, who is entering his last season with the Wolverines. Young talks about winning his first-every pro tournament, and how playing in the Big 10 has prepared him for success as a pro. The 6'5" all-court player, also discusses playing other sports "as a kid" and what it's like playing against Purdue, where his dad is the coach.
Next up, the doubles champions Felix Corwin and Nathan Ponwith join the show to talk about their recent success and why they keep coming back to Edwardsville. Felix and Nathan also dive into why they play doubles and the tougher aspects of life as a pro athlete. Finally, the duo reveal their newly-acquired love for St. Louis classic "gooey butter cake."

Brian Mulhall is back to talk about the Edwardsville Rotary Criterium Festival, which will take place on Saturday August 17 in downtown Edwardsville, and which will include food and beverages, entertainment, and, of course, bike races for everyone. The event, which raises money for the Edwardsville Rotary, was begun in 2010, and is part of the Illinois Cup series. Mulhall talks about the work involved in organizing the event and what "keeps him up at night."
Next up, our MESPY winner for Girls Bowler of the Year, Brylee Proffitt of Triad High School, stops by the talk about her 8th place finish at state, the highest of any girl from the Metro East last year. Next up, Fr. McGivney Girls Basketball Coach Jeff Oller is joined in the studio by two of his top players from the past season--Sami Oller (no relation) and Devin Ellis. The Lady Griffins earned the MESPY for 1A Team of the Year, and Oller talks about what it will take to maintain the great success enjoyed this season. Oller, who will play at Illinois Wesleyan next year, describes her busy life at McGivney playing volleyball, hoops, and track. Ellis, who has committed to playing soccer at UMSL in the fall of 25, talks about how her soccer career helps her on the basketball floor.
Then, Coach Nathan Rueter led the Lady Cougar Basketball squad to a 30-win season earning the MESPY for 2A Girls Team of the Year. Rueter talks about his two-decades leading the Cougars, what he liked about his team last year, the culture at Central (Breese), the bright future of his team, and his career as a player.
Last but not least...the Highland Lady Bulldog Dance Team was the only Metro East Team to finish in the top 10 at IHSA state. To accept the MESPY for Dance Team of the Year, Coach Erin Cotto shares studio with dancers Ava Fisher and Alyssa Vidmar. The girls share what's tough about the sport, and Cotto gives a "sneak preview" of next year's show. Vidmar and Fisher discuss last year's success and look forward to captaining next year's team.
Show 5.20 begins with Edwardsville High School ultimate frisbee team captains Elijah Hawk and Jesse Zawitkowski. The duo shares what they love about the sport and a few highlights from their career and season. The boys also discuss their plans for next year and how they got started in the sport.
Next up, O'Fallon Boys Bowling Coach Mike Imes has won 14 consecutive SWC championships, and the Panthers finished 6th at state this year. Coach Imes is back to discuss all things bowling and accept the MESPY for boys bowling team of the year.

Next up, we are joined by the 3A Wrestling Team of the Year, the Edwardsville Tigers, represented by Coach Eric Pretto and state-qualifier and captain, Blake Mink. Pretto describes the season and the transition as first-year Head Coach. Mink talks about starting the sport in just second grade and what he'll remember from the season.
Finally, we recognize the 2A Boys Basketball Team and Player of the Year. Breese Central Coach Jeremy Schubert led the Cougars to the Sweet 16. The team was led by his son Mason, an All-State point guard. Mason talks about playing soccer, basketball, and track at Central, along with his plans for next year, which include "walking on" at Murray State. Coach Schubert describes "Central culture," and how the teachers, community, and kids are buying in to create an optimum environment for the kids.
All MESPY winners in this show, which begins with 1A Girls Basketball Player of the Year, Lauren Flowers and her Coach Brian Madson of Carrollton HS. Flowers led the Lady Hawks in nearly every category, and the 3-sport star describes her game on the hardwood, and her goals for her senior season and beyond. Madson describes taking the job just as the season beginning, and he talks about what Flowers means to the program as a player and a leader in his program.
Next up, we talk tennis with 2A Singles Player of the Year MESPY winner Colton Hulme and 1/2 of the Doubles Team of the Year, Jesse Hattrup, both of Edwardsville HS. Hulme looks back over his career and shares what he'll miss about being a Tiger; Hattrup talks about focusing on doubles this year with his partner, Jade Dynamic. The two boys also describe the adventures this team took and the immense improvement they saw in their teammates.
Finally, the MESPY for 3A Boys Basketball Team of the Year goes to the East St. Louis Flyers. The Flyers are represented in the studio by Coach Mark Chambers. Coach Chambers describes his "disciplinarian" style, how kids have changed, and competing the always-tough SWC. In the third slot, we recognize the Belleville West Girls Volleyball Team as the MESPY winners for 4A Team of the Year. Coach Me'Ashah Franklin describes how "shaking up the lineup" was just what her Maroons needed to make a thrilling post-season run. Coach "Me" is joined by her middle blocker, Addison Geluck, who shares her memories from the regular season and the post season, and she describes what it's like playing for her coach.
Eric Scroggins kicks off episode 14 to talk about his incredible career as a three-sport athlete at Roxana HS and his current position as Marketing Director for Heaterz Chicken! Dave calls it the "best chicken sandwich" he's ever had, and Scroggins discusses their desire to work with local sports teams and events to raise funds for their respective programs.
Next up Belleville West golfer Morgan Jung stops by to discuss his career on the links for the Maroons, and on the night before his last day of high school, he describes what he'll miss about BW. Jung describes his "next step," which is studying golf management at Mississippi State University.
Then, Ellie Bush of O'Fallon Township HS is our MESPY winner for 3A Runner of the Year. Bush is joined in the studio by her coach Neal James, who describes the prodigiously talented sophomore's ability to "feel the pace" of the race. Bush talks about what attracted her to the sport and her future plans.
Finally, Travis Williams is amongst the all-time greatest athletes to come out of East Alton Wood River HS. Williams, a three sport high school star, describes his upbringing, the many positive role models he had at EAWRHS, his recruiting process, and his decorated career with the Illini. Williams also discusses playing in the Arena League and coaching his son's team at Fenwick HS in Oak Park, Illinois.
This show begins with the MESPY winner for 1A Boys XC Runner of the Year, Hunter Ponce, who is joined by his coach, Ben Scamihorn. Ponce reflects on his state-qualifying season and talks about leading the Shells. Scamihorn talks about building the program to reflect his lofty goals in just his second year as head coach.
Next up, we check out the local boxing scene as manager and coach Tyler Woodard is in the studio with two of his top guys, Jeremiah Robinson and Justin Spalding. Next up, the undefeated Highland Bulldogs Baseball team are recognized as Integrity Spine and Joint Center Team of the Month. The "dogs" are represented in the studio by pitching coach Derek Reckmann, pitcher/first baseman Chase Knebel, and outfielder Jake Ottensmeier. Knebel and Ottensmeier discuss the strength of their team including their abililty to play any style necessary, and Reckmann describes building relationships with the players beginning in middle school and what he's learned from current Bulldog Head Coach, Coach Hawkins.

Marion High School Boys Tennis Coach Joe Pearce joins the show remotely to talk about winning the JD Miller Sportsmanship Award at the Edwardsville Invitational last weekend. Pearce, a first-year coach, talks about creating a culture of family and respect with the Wildcats. He is joined by Assistant Coach Bruce Myers and his two team captains, who talk about playing Pearce and Myers.
Next up. we talk LAX with Edwardsville United and EHS Boys Head Coach Zac Bilyeu and Defensive Coordinator Will Dunlap. The duo talks about how they got their start in the sport and the excitement surrounding the program at Edwardsville HS including gaining the program's first-ever win.
Wrapping up the show, Bill Roseberry of the Gallatin Awards Committee, is in studio with SWIC Head Women's Basketball Coach John Denney. Denney talks about his "style" as a coach and how his playing career helped shape his attitude as a coach. Coach Denney explains his passion for the game and love the love he has for his position at SWIC.
The Alton Redbirds Girls Basketball team is represented in the studio in the first slot, as Coach Deserea Howard makes her first appearance on the show, and she is joined by star players Jarius Powers and Kyoko Proctor. Coach Howard talks about all the things that made this team special, and how giving birth just two weeks before the season wasn't going to get in the way of another Redbird hoops season. Powers talks about what she'll remember from this season, and she describes her rugged style of play. Proctor shares her timetable for recovery from the injury in the Super-sectional, which ended her season, and she shares insight into what made her commit to SIUE to continue her playing career.
Next up, Rick Daleen, stops in to talk about the upcoming Leon Spinks Dinner of Champions, a tribute to Spinks, who is former Olympic gold medalist and world champion, who defeated Muhammad Ali. Daleen describes his passion for working with kids "to help keep them off the street" at the Boys and Girls Club of St. Charles, where is the Director of Operations. He also lists the impressive list of former World Champions who will be in attendance at the event.
In the third slot, three senior baseball players from three local high schools are in the studio to talk about their athletic careers, and the CEO (Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities Program) in which they participate in their respective schools. Cole McClusky (Collinsville), AJ Sutberry (McGivney), and Blase Kurwicki (Highland). share the lessons they've learned and the connection between CEO and sports. The boys also describe their plans for the future and their individual CEO projects.

Brown, who was nominated by Head Football Coach, Kelsey Pickering, is a described a "selfless leader" who sets a tremendous example on the field and in the classroom. Then, we focus on ultimate (frisbee) with three member of the SIUe program: the Driscoll brothers (Evan and Patrick) and associate producer, Keaton Anderson. the three talk about what attracted them to the sport, and they share the nuances of the game they love.
Finally, Mascoutah Volleyball Coach Breezy Gober is in the studio to be recognized for the MESPY for 3A Team of the Year. She describes coaching in Mascoutah and building the program there; she is joined by All-State outside hitter and MESPY winner for 3A Player of the Year, Avery Boehm, who describes being a three-sport standout at Mascoutah. Dave spontaneously brings Mrs. Boehm in the studio for an impromptu interview on what she looks for in a coach and what she loves about the Mascoutah sports scene.

Next up, one of the best soccer players to come out of the Metro East recently, Adam Reiniger, is back to accept is THIRD MESPY for 3A Player of the Year. Reiniger discusses his personal, intense daily training regiment, and his academic success, which has him ranked #1 in his class. The All-Stater also accepts the MESPY for 3A Team of the Year, which included the program's fourth consecutive SWC Championship.
Rounding out the show is our Integrity Spine and Joint Center Team of the Month, Jack Carmody, the Triad Boys Tennis Coach. Carmody discusses his the "secrets" to building his program's success, which includes a long stretch of Sectional and MVC Championships, and winning the recent Regional Coach of the Year Award.
This episode features hometown heroes and a former world champion trying to make a difference in the lives of others. Edwardsville HS Hockey Coach Jason Walker is in the studio to accept the MESPY for Hockey Team of the Year. He is joined by his goalie Kai Vetter, who earned the MESPY for Player of the Year. The two discuss their championship season, which included raising $40k for Hockey Fights Cancer in conjunction with the St. Louis Blues.

Finally, former world champion boxer Devon Alexander stops by to share his candid story of growing up in North St. Louis in a "two bedroom apartment with 13 kids and two adults." Alexander "the Great" talks about when he first started the sport, and he details highlights from his 19 years in professional boxing. Mefford shares some good advice for the senior as she plans her next step, which is to attend Illinois State University in the fall. Next up, Mater Dei Girls Volleyball Coach Chad Rakers is back to accept the MESPY for 2A Team of the Year. The Lady Knights captured the State Championship, and joining Rakers to discuss the feat are Addie Lampe and Addison Nenninger. The two girls discuss what they'll remember from the regular season and the team's dramatic playoff contest against Central. Rakers and the girls also talk about the team's "core values." Next up, the MESPY for 3A Boys XC Team of the Year was earned by O'Fallon, and Coach Jon Burnett shares his thoughts on his "style" and the team's top-5 finish at state. Then, we recognize the latest Integrity Spine and Joint Center Team of the Month, the Edwardsville HS Girls Wrestling Team, which captured the Conference, Regional, and Sectional titles. In this first episode of Season 5, Civic Memorial's longest-tenured Coach, Derek Jarman, and new Head Football and current Head Baseball Coach, Nick Smith, are in the studio to talk about the big changes on the horizon for their school. Jarman talks about taking over as Athletic Director in the 25-26 year, and Smith discusses his new gig leading the Eagles on the gridiron. They share their vision for their new roles, and they discuss their professional journeys, which have led them to this point. Next up, Alton's Head Basketball Coach Dylan Dudley is back to talk about the Redbirds' exciting season, which has included a couple dramatic wins in the SWC. Anderson has founded a group which he believes will raise integral capital for the SIUE Men's Basketball program beginning next season. Dowell, also a three sport star, discusses looking up to Deloach, how he got started in wrestling, and his plans for the future.
In this Legends episode, Dave talks to the retiring Head Coach of Edwardsville Boys and Girls Wrestling, Jon Wagner, and his successor, Eric Pretto. Wagner and Pretto share their individual histories which led them to their coaching careers. Then, Wagner discusses his long, successful time leading the Tigers, and he comments on those things of which he is most proud. Pretto describes his vision for leading the Tigers and comments on what attracted him to the Tiger program.
Chad Opel of Front Office Fiduciary Network is back to present the latest Charitable Champion, Aubree Wallace of Civic Memorial HS. Wallace is a three-sport honor student, who goes "the extra mile in the classroom and on the field with a positive attitude." The UMSL soccer commit described her goals and positive experience as an Eagle. Next, Steve Porter is back to talk about another hall of fame induction; this time, he was accepted into the STL Hall of Fame. Porter describes the experience along with the upcoming Harry Gallatin Awards, which he helps organize and which recognizes "riverbend" high school basketball greatness. Finally, O'Fallon Boys Bowling takes over the studio as Coach Mike Imes is joined by team leaders Nathan Bassford and Connor Lunnings. Imes talks about the local history of scholastic bowling and shares his love for coaching. Bassford describes the dramatic ending to his career and his goals for the future as a collegiate bowler. And, Lunnings discusses the technical change from one hand to two, which has made a significant difference in his career.
Drew Landau of Edwardsville HS Wrestling begins the show. He discusses winning 100 matches as a Tiger, going undefeated in dual matches, and qualifying for state for the third time. Belleville East Wrestling is represented next in the studio with first year Head Coach Rashad Riley, who is joined by third place state finisher Dominic Thebeau and his father Bernie. The trio talk about the Belleville East philosophy of teaching more than just wrestling, and Dominic discusses wrestling at Nebraska next year with his brother. Next, Columbia Cheer Coach Robbie Walters is in studio to share his passion for his sport, as he talks about his long, successful journey. Walters is joined by two of seniors, Kierstyn Shreve and Grace Anderson. The girls talk about finishing just .48 behind the state champions, their obstacle-filled season, and they get emotional speaking about what they'll miss next year. Pile sits down with Dave and former player Chad Opel to discuss, amongst other topics, joining two more halls of fame, what he would've been if he hadn't been a baseball coach, toughness, what made his teams so successful, coaching with Daryl Butler and Mike Waldo, "the 5 or so people that put Edwardsville on the map," Tom Price, and why he wore one batting glove while coaching--hint, it's not homage to Michael Jackson.

Then, the conversation shifts to water polo, as Dave is joined by McKendree coaches Colleen Lischwe and Uros Pelemis and player CC Smith. The trio share their enthusiasm for the sport and they explain some of the rules. Finally, Gibault Girls Volleyball Coach Kelsey Hartung is back to accept the MESPY for 1A Team of the Year. Collinsville Track and Field Coach Chad Burgess brings sophomore and 3-sport athlete Devin Habermehl, who talks about learning a new sport (wrestling), and the football team's success. Finally, Nick Barron becomes the first Principia College representative on the show. Barron describes his journey to become the Head XC and Track and Field Coach at "Prin," and he discusses Principia's recent decision to allow non-Christian Scientists to enroll in the college along with the great amenities his campus has to offer.
O'Fallon Girls XC Coach Neil James kicks off the show alongside one of his top runners, Britney Brown. Brown talks about her move to O'Fallon from South Africa, and she shares her experiences as one of the TOP scholastic triathletes in the country including her commitment to Arizona State University in the fall to continue her athletic career. Next, O'Fallon Boys XC Coach Jon Burnett is in studio to discuss his team's dominant, MESPY-winning season for 3A Team of the Year. Burnett talks about his long career at OTHS and what he still enjoys about coaching. Kloster was nominated for the distinction by his basketball coach, Dustin Battas, who describes Kloster as a "mature leader who makes good decisions on and off the court." Kloster talks about his donations to the Lincoln School Foundation and the Tiger Basketball Boosters. Next, SIUe Mens Basketball Coach Brian Barone is back with star Ray'Sean Taylor. Barone and Taylor discuss the team's hot start as they sit atop the OVC with a record of 12-5. The event which is presented by the Highland Optimist Club and Scott Credit Union attracts many of the country's best players and teams. Powers and Hemann discuss their roles in organizing the one-day event, and they delve into the rich history of its past. Hemann, the Highland Mayor, talks about the many positives of hosting the "showcase" in his community, and Powers, breaks down the 9 exciting games in this year's event to take place on January 7.
