To help with guest management for my Interviews podcast, I decided to sign up for Hey.com in lieu of building custom email features. I created two new, small, private packages for guest statuses for my podcast admin.
Adding Cloudflare's R2 to my podcast platform was more involved than I expected. Figuring out how to upload videos to YouTube using an API is turning into a bit of a Rabbit Hole. And sitting down to figure out the specific features I want for my Interviews podcast is more frustrating than I imagined.
The release of Nova version 4, the commercial Laravel package I use in my LaSalle Software for administration, provides a contrast between a CRUD UI and my need to get into serverless for more and more of my podcast administration.
With more content comes the need for a new website. Unscheduled but necessary, and causing updates to all five existing sites, my new PHP Serverless Project site is done.
First four videos in PHP Serverless video series done. Video back-end and front-end packages are done. Taking shape!
Video has emerged as the primary way to share learning about AWS serverless with PHP, Bref, and with the Laravel Framework. Videos accommodate a variety of styles. Do not have to stick with just one way of doing videos, from one video to the next. The best way to convey something is the style used.
Laying the communications groundwork for my new open source projects: Twitch, Discord, Video Editing. Because interactions and communication is the prime concern.
With a lot of applications to upgrade to the new Laravel 8, the prospect of hand updating each app motivated me to look into a long simmering, but somewhat crazy, idea: turn the base Laravel app into a package Then, update the package with the Laravel app updates. Finally, update each of my apps via composer update of my new package. It works!
I achieved a stable feature-complete (for now) state with my free and open source software, so why am I re-starting this podcast show? What's my focus? What's the format?
