Joseph sets up a trap to cause Jacob's son to come back to Egypt under a false accusation.
Judah commits sexual sin with his daughter-in-law. Onan refuses to fulfill his family relationships with Tamar. Er commits wickedness that causes God to immediately judge him and slay him.
Jacob leaves Shechem and returns to Bethel with his family. Rebekah dies while giving birth to Benjamin and Isaac dies at 180 years old. Also, Rebekah's nurse maid. Deborah, dies.
Jacob leaves Laban and takes his entire family to Canaan. Laban discovers Jacob is gone and chases him down.

Abraham meets with three men (one of them being the preincarnate Jesus).These tell Abraham and Sarah about them having a baby in their old age. Sarah laughed in her head concerning this information and one of the three men called her on her lack of faith. The men are going to Sodom and Gomorrah to destroy it and Abraham asks if they will spare the cities if only a few righteous are found.
God explains and institutes the sign of the covenant, circumcision. Abraham circumcises all of the male members of his household from eight days old and up.
Sarai has not been able to have children. She tells her husband Abraham to go ahead and have a child with her handmaid, Hagar, which she can count as her own. When Hagar had conceived, she began to look down on Sarai for being barren. Hagar runs away because of Sarai speaking roughly to her. The Lord confronts Hagar and tells her to go back to Sarai. Hagar has a baby and names him Ishmael according as God had said.
Abraham asks God if his servant Eliezer can be his heir as God's promise. However, God states that Eliezer will not be Abraham's heir, but only the son that is born of Abraham and Sarah. God makes a covenant with himself as a promise to Abraham that he will have an heir and become the forefather of a great nation.
Abram rescues Lot. Abram meets Melchizedek and pays his tithes. Abram defeats the four kings from the east.
Abram separates from Lot because their cattle had become too large to graze in the same place.
Abram travels to the promised land with his family and Lot. Abram tells Egypt's pharaoh that his wife is his sister ( she was his half-sister).
God gives His covenant of rainbow so people will always remember that God will not destroy the world by water again. Noah's son Ham sins against Noah. Ham's son Canaan and his descendants are cursed by Noah. Noah dies.
