My name is Andrew and I am an ex-Jehovah's Witness.
The term apostate for Jehovah's Witnesses is always such a derogatory term. Many are so afraid to even look at someone who has been identified as one. Those who have successfully left the "congregation" see it as something we are proud of. To be able to think with a clear mind and have the veil of the Watchtower removed. Join me as I discover the truth about the Jehovah's Witnesses and share that with those who really need it. We would also love to hear the stories of your experiences with getting out and the aftermath.
For decades, Jehovah's Witnesses have held a prohibition on men having facial hair, more specifically beards. There has been a calling from some of the branch offices of Jehovah's Witnesses for clarification on whether or not men should be allowed to have beards in the organization. On December 15, the Governing Body finally gave this clarification. Is this what you were expecting?

I recently had a conversation with my Mom about no longer being a Jehovah's Witness. It ultimately led to the discussion of having limited contact to safeguard her heart against the possibility that I could lure her away from "the truth". Join me as I discuss how this went and what it means when Jehovah's Witnesses tell their unbelieving family members that they will need to limit their contact.

My dad passed away this last week and right away I began to hear the rhetoric of the Jehovah's Witnesses starting. First I was told if I wanted to see my dad again in the resurrection that I would need to make a choice in my faith. Then close friends of the family began really pushing meeting attendance. I began thinking this isn't what it means to grieve the loss of a loved one.
This week we dig into how Jehovah's Witnesses view death and the afterlife.
We have transitioned over from using the New World Translation to fully using the KJV unless the scripture is directly quoted from a source of The Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society.

Sorry sorry sorry. I know I am a day late and I have received a few texts asking when this will be posted. Had a hectic day yesterday and as you can see this is my longest episode to date. So I wanted to ensure I devoted as much as possible to recording instead of trying to rush in between house cleaning yesterday.
For those who are still Jehovah's Witnesses or studying to become a Jehovah's Witness, this is your episode to identify the red flags of what a cult is and how that corresponds to the religion you are currently a part of. For those of us who have already left we see these as subtle reminders of why we should never look behind but forward.

Over the years, Jehovah's Witnesses have made many notable changes to their doctrine. Almost like God is talking directly to their governing body and saying, "Oh hey, I messed up on this or that, and I need you to release this information." Does God make mistakes? Has the Bible itself ever changed in a way to constantly need to be revised what we as Christians believe in?

Have you ever attended one of the Jehovah's Witnesses assemblies or conventions? Have you paid much attention to how they baptize their followers? These events are the only time Jehovah's Witnesses baptize their newly dedicated and only happen 3 times a year. In most other Christian religions, once you have made your dedication, within a week or two you are getting baptized. Also, over the years, there have been many changes to the Witness doctrine of how someone should get baptized. The Bible has never changed its direction, why can't we just follow what the Bible says?
