Open enrollment maybe over, but it's never too late to focus on employee benefits. Our guest today is Daniel Bryant, a thought leader and best-selling author. His book, "The Financial Wellness Mandate" focuses on how to be the employer of choice in a highly competitive job market.

Financial wellness is a term used to describe an employee benefits package that focuses on financial education and empowerment. This type of program is geared toward providing employees with the tools they need to make sound financial decisions and reach their personal financial goals.

What's the old saying? Times change, and people do too. If you're an employer who isn't offering a competitive benefits package that encompasses financial wellness, you run the risk of falling short. On the flip side, if you are an employee and not fully engaged in your company's offering, you run the risk of losing potentially valuable benefits that can help you nourish your worth. Traditional W-2 income is only part of the entire compensation package, and we encourage you to take a deep dive into your company's benefit package—and don't be afraid to ask for newer benefits that are available in the marketplace.
