Jesus raised Lazarus from the tomb but he was still wrapped up in graveclothes. These represent the baggage in life that hold men “back”- In order to live in the fullness of destiny and purpose “Jesus commanded the GRAVE CLOTHES BE REMOVED - Why? When God wants to accomplish something He chooses a man – a simple man who Often doubts his ability to accomplish what God asks. This man was Gideon. God tells Gideon cut down his army from 32,000 men to 300 and engage the enemy.The 300 chosen ones were willing to follow the instruction and victory was won over the Midianites by this simple yet effective instruction.What battle are you fighting today? Paul’s Vision Was Clear and Purposeful

A Specific Call - God directed Paul to surrender his own plans and go to Macedonia (Acts 16 : 9-10). The instruction was clear in both purpose and location.

Immediate Obedience - Paul didn’t delay—he responded straight away. His quick obedience shows that our lives are meant to make an impact, but that impact begins with surrender and obedience to God’s direction.

Fruit Follows Surrender, Not the Other Way Around - We often want results first, but God calls us to obedience first.

Challenges Are Part of the Call - Even in obedience, Paul faced conflict, fear, and hardship (2 Corinthians 7 : 5-8). The Christian walk holds both fruitfulness and persecution—they go hand in hand.
Principle - When we live fully surrendered to God, His grace empowers us. We can walk through trials from a place of victory, not defeat.

When God wanted a man to lead Israel into Canaan He chose Joshua not Caleb. yet God says of Caleb – "My servant Caleb Has followed me wholeheartedly and has a different spirit in him" (Numbers 14 : 24).Both men were filled with faith but with different visionary perspectives for their future. Caleb wanted Hebron as his inheritance – that was his destiny and vision. Joshua on the other hand was more engaged in serving Moses - not just as a warrior but as a servant/attendant.Principle: What you make happen for others will eventually happen for you (Luke 16 : 12)

Daniel and his three friends were brought into Babylon, educated in a Babylonian university For 3 years and asked to eat the kings meat and drink his wine so that at the end of that period they would look, think and act like Babylonians.
The attempt to change their identity and belief was subtle – one day at a time. Worldliness is a “competing loyalty”. We are lights called to shine in the world but when we begin to compromise we lose our voice and effective witness.

Have you ever got tired that what God promised hasn’t been fulfilled? YOU ARE NOT ALONE.
David was anointed but not yet appointed. He had to learn the principle of timing. In his weariness he lets go of God and leans on his own understanding with consequence. He seems to have lost his sense of purpose and direction till calamity strikes.
In his pain he returns to God and rediscovers Grace and Purpose with all he lost being restored.

Gods desire is that everyone lives a “larger life” and become productive. If that were true – why is it many believers live “”below their potential? Both David and Elijah experienced these negative feelings. However, one ran towards God and the other away from him
Emotions are powerful. They have the power to take us towards our destiny or away from it.
Life lessons from Elijah:

Is there such a thing as a new beginning? Is it possible to be restored to anything more than a less than life? Peter the Apostle stands as a testament to God’s restorative grace, even though he failed the Lord at a critical moment, he is once again to his God given purpose.Through Peter’s life we see that…1. The resurrection is the most important event in our Christian experience as…- It stands as a reminder that God comes through on his promises. Matthew 28:6 - It validates the efficacy of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross. 1 Cor 15:17- It brings life changing hope to a people in hopelessness. 1. The Expectant Person Lives Watchfully
The Bible reminds believers to remain alert, as no one knows the exact time of Christ’s return (Matthew 24:42). Just as Jesus warned in Matthew 25:13, “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour,” a prepared heart remains spiritually awake, discerning the times, and living in readiness.
2. The Expectant Person Advances God's KingdomA true believer does not remain idle but actively invests in the work of God’s kingdom. In Matthew 25:15, Jesus teaches about the talents, showing that God entrusts each person with gifts and responsibilities. Those who expect Christ’s return will faithfully steward their time, resources, and calling to spread the gospel and bring transformation.
3. The Expectant Person Lives with AccountabilityChrist’s return calls for a life of faithfulness and perseverance. In 1 Corinthians 15:58, Paul exhorts, “Be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain.” A prepared heart does not live in fear but in faithfulness, knowing that one day, they will stand before Christ and give an account of their life.

Beliefs are powerful – they can lift us up or pull us down. 12 leaders went into Canaan to inspect the land. 10 brought a negative report and 2 a positive report.Our words are often shaped by early life experiences. There are 2 gardens mentioned in Scripture – Genesis 3:16-19 (Garden of Eden) and Gethsemane (Mark 14:32-36) where PAIN WAS MANIFEST. Pain presents us with choices –1. Do we get bitter and allow the pain to cloud our faith or 2. Do we turn to God in our pain and offer it up to Him and move forward with our livesJesus chose the second option – and as a consequence by His death on the cross atoned for the sin of all mankind. He found purpose in pain and we should too.God doesn’t always explain the whys of our life experiences but when we live for a higher purpose one day we will have all our answers.

Each person has a UNIQUE and SIGNIFICANT purpose ordained by God.
Whilst we don’t get to choose, we get to choose to live out that purpose.
That choice involves a commitment to obedience and a willingness to be flexible and trust in God’s plan even when we don’t understand it.

At this Christmas time we are all waiting for something.The story of Simeon is about waiting well - Simeon waited for the consolation of Israel – the Promised Savior and redeemer of the World. Waiting is never easy yet Simeon allowed his faith to be powered by Gods Word and timing and as a consequence of waited well and saw the Promise of God fulfilled. So should we?

God has a plan and purpose for our lives. The journey is already carved out by God, and need godly wisdom and guidance to navigate our path way. When we encounter unexpected challenges, be assured, divine favour engulfs us at the right time. At the end only, God reveals his plan, for his name to be glorified.
Sometimes God’s interruptions are a significant shock and draw us, well outside of our comfort zone. Unexpected people like Simon the Cyrene, are often called to carry the cross of Christ, because God knows their potential and in the process God touch and transform their lives, to bear fruits to the Kingdom of God. At the end our faith is renewed to strengthen us.

Even as we launch in to the Christmas season, its an opportunity for us to pause and rethink the original message of Christmas….
Luke 2:11 - “Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.”
Jesus is more than a miracle worker and provider, he is the saviour of the world.
- Why do we need saving?
The reason we need a Saviour has its roots in the nature of God and the nature of man:

The Bible says God has a plan and human beings are critical to that plan.

God is holy, and He cannot abide in sin.
-
Every human being has sinned, and every human has an intrinsic sin nature.
The difficulty for us is that living with God requires sinless perfection, and none of us is perfect. So, God cannot carry out His plans for us without first fixing humankind. That is why we need a Saviour.
Romans 6:23 - “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
- From what are we being saved?
From eternal damnation. A place of torment that was initially meant for Satan and the fallen angels. A place to be avoided at all costs.
Mark 9:43 - “If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go into hell, where the fire never goes out.”
- The Response of the Saved
Gratitude should be our heartfelt response.
Luke 7:47 - "Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven--for she loved much. But he who has been forgiven little loves little."
To the sinful woman, she owed Jesus her very life, he had saved her and given her a whole new life.
So, How do we view Jesus today? He’s more than a baby wrapped in cloths… he’s the SAVIOUR of the world. He alone can restore our relationship with God and release us into God’s purpose for our lives.

The grace of God is a free gift, but it cost Christ everything. almost every gift we have received in our life, it cost someone something. The god of the universe did not hold back anything to make you free from your sin and save you from his righteous judgement.
God being just, righteous who hates sin and will judge the world for its sinfulness has given man the opportunity to bypass his vengeance by accepting the forgiveness he has given through his son.

Today's message focused on the profound power in the name of Jesus and the importance of faith in receiving God's promises. We began by emphasizing the repeated declaration that "there is power in the name of Jesus," underscoring the authority and strength that comes from invoking His name. This power is not just theoretical but practical, as illustrated by the story of the Israelites at Jericho. God promised them victory over the walled city, a seemingly insurmountable obstacle, and assured them that this victory was a gift, not something they had to achieve by their own strength.
The Israelites had to see the victory with the eyes of faith before it manifested in reality. They were instructed to march around the city, an act of faith that seemed illogical but was necessary to demonstrate their trust in God's promise. This act of marching was not about bringing down the walls through their own efforts but about aligning their actions with their faith in God's word. The story teaches us that faith requires action; it is not enough to believe passively. We must engage our faith through actions that reflect our trust in God's promises.
The message also highlighted the importance of persistence in faith. The Israelites had to march around Jericho for seven days, and on the seventh day, they had to march seven times. This persistence, even when it seemed futile, was crucial. Faith is not a one-time act but a continuous journey of trust and obedience. We must keep believing and acting on God's promises, even when we do not see immediate results.

In Luke 15 Jesus challenges the religious leaders to dream a “God dream” and find “True joy” in what brings rejoicing in heaven…. Jesus is admonishing the Church at Ephesus who had lost their “”first love” or intimacy with Him.He commends them for their “sound theology but condemns them for their lack of relationship?What happens when we lose our first love? Joseph is put into a pit by his brothers (Ishmaelites show up). Joseph is taken to Potiphar's house and resists temptation (Grace shows up). Joseph is put into prison (favour shows up). Eventually through his gifting (to interpret dreams) he ends up where destiny is appointed for him, The Palace
WHAT LESSONS CAN WE LEARN ABOUT DIVINE INTERVENTIONS -
On the journey to Destiny God orchestrates events and Satan cannot frustrate Gods plan if we keep our attitude and spirit right.
DIVINE INTERSECIONS are Spirit led events that occur in two peoples lives: One the giver and the other the receiver relating to the communication of the Gospel.
Some examples are - Jesus and the woman at the well / Phillip and the Ethiopian Eunuch / Ananias and Paul.
Divine intersections are often “contrary to human reasoning and human judgment”, but unless you understand them you will never function as “Fruitfully as God desires” in sharing your faith with the unchurched. The elements of a “divine intersection” – the Holy Spirit – the right person – the right timing – the right communication: WHEN THESE LINE UP -TRANSFORMATION HAPPENS!

What Does it mean “God wants it all”?
Jacobs story is one of how God can take the most difficult and Challenging life situation around and turn it into favour if we are willing to surrender our agendas to His.
Jacob is running from relational conflict – he is empty handed and alone yet God appears to him with a PROMISE.
In return of Gods revelation Jacob makes a WHOLE OF LIFE COMMITMENT TO GOD IN FAITH – and eventually all God had promised :restoration of relationship with his brother – blessing and favour become his portion in life: Yet it all starts with SURRENDER? Lo Debar was a temporary place for Mephibosheth, and it is a temporary place for most of us at times. We are not meant to move into these unfair circumstances permanently.
God’s kindness, favour and grace finds us, where we are, to move us to a place of destiny and purpose in him.
If we allow Lo Debar to be our final destination, we will miss the invite of favour for relocation. But Mephibosheth accepted the invitation of King David to the Palace and his life was restored. Mephibosheth took the bold step, which propelled him out of Lo Debar.

God has “Entrusted” each one of us with “unique” gifts, abilities and resources to use for his kingdom. The parable of the talents shows us that each are given “according to their ability,” but each are also held accountable to faithfully fulfil their God given purpose. At Christ’s return he will call us to give account, lets commit ourselves to fulfilling our purpose and hear the words “Well done though good and faithful servant"!

Abraham was given an instruction and he was faithful to it, but when he arrived at his destination – The circumstances he had expected didn’t line up: So, he chooses to go down into Egypt….
-What Abraham didn’t understand is that God doesn’t always work “In a straight line” – in a way predictable to human understanding.
-Abraham allowed his circumstances to determine his direction – Leaving the Negev and going down into Egypt.
-Negative choices based on sight not faith – have corresponding outworking.
-But even though Abraham had lost his way spiritually speaking - God “shows up”- re-routes him through Divine Intervention and he journeys on to his Destiny.
God’s grace is offered to Abraham in spite of his failure – and is equally offered to you today: THAT IS WHAT THE GOSPEL JESUS TAUGHT IS ALL ABOUT: God is presenting you with an opportunity to “Turn your failure around”- He will still make something of your life!

What we learn from this story of the healing of the Lame man…

Though Life throws stuff at us like it did the lame man – Yet, when opportunity arose for a miracle he seized his moment and rose up and walked.

All around us are people who are “lame or broken” from the challenges and struggles of life - You and I have the potential within us, in the name of Jesus and the Power of the Holy Spirit to turn their lives around.
Are we willing to extend our own faith to be a blessing to one such a person? That's the message of the Gospel - Give such people more than a “hand out – give them a Hand Up” So their lives are transformed not just physically but spiritually as well!

What we can learn from Jesus' words to Peter after his denial and failure..... Failure doesn't have to be the end - There is still a future filled with purpose and destiny even after failure.
To move forward - It is essential to be truthful and open about our failures before Jesus, accepting His offer of grace.
We must continue from where we left off and follow Him - Failure actually holds a valuable lesson – it compels us to rely more on Him and less on ourselves.
Jesus declared a destiny for Peter's life and did not revoke that declaration when Peter failed - This teaches us that Jesus is both the starting point and the ultimate destination of our destiny. Failure serves as a reminder of this lesson.

Moses had an encounter with God at the burning bush, which marked a turning point in his life. He surrendered his ambitions to follow God's purpose. What is God using as your "burning bush" to get your attention and surrender your life to Him? Jesus called his disciples to follow Him and become "fishers of men." Don't delay, be willing to surrender and pick up your true purpose.

The story of David and Goliath has become an accepted analogy for taking on a herculean task and coming out on top. He offers us a “Yoke exchange” – From the burdensome yokes we carry, to “his yoke” – which offers us hope and freedom...!
In 2 Chronicles 20 – King Jehoshaphat is faced with an impossible challenge, and he cries to God in his distress… the Lord responds with a specific and encouraging word… 'Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God's.” “Have faith in the Lord your God and you will be “upheld”…

David also declares "EVEN IN THE HARD PLACES" God's favour will be present.

God chose to reveal Himself not just to is own but those outside the Christian faith too. So if you never believed, open our heart and search for Him too!
The message of Christmas is that, God fulfils His promises. It is a message of hope and faith in dark and difficult times!
This hope and assurance is also offered to you at this time. Embrace and believe that what He promises you personally will come to pass!

So, what do you do when you experience a lapse of faith?
Return to God’s Word and wait for a fresh word of revelation from God and walk in the Power of that Revelation.
The primary focus of Elijah’s prayer wasn’t for “rain” but that God’s people would return to Him.
He aligned his prayer with faith and when the people turned back to faith - God sent rain.
As our prayers align with the heart of God – we too will see God respond to that prayer of faith.
