Welcome to the Highly Sensitive Parenthood Podcast! The Highly Sensitive Parenthood Podcast helps HSP and Empath Moms, Dads, Parents, and Caregivers learn to not just survive, but truly thrive amidst the challenges of parenthood. Together, we'll dive into common challenges of Highly Sensitive Parents, hear from other HSPs and Empaths about their experiences in parenthood, and learn to honor and celebrate our sensitivity - not only as parents, but as humans.
This podcast is a resource from www.highlysensitiveparenthood.com, a website that seeks to provide resources for HSP parents. The mission of Highly Sensitive Parenthood is to teach Highly Sensitive parents how to harness their strengths and manage challenges with grace and confidence, in order to thrive in parenthood.

Over the last couple of weeks, I’ve shared about HSP Parents and Anxiety, but this week, I’m delving into a slightly heavier topic. Like anyone else, HSP Parents can at times experience low mood and depression. If you or someone you know has struggled with depression or low mood (or even just feeling fatigued or “not yourself - some sneaky symptoms of depression) check out this week’s podcast.

Who here loves a rainy day? I love the permission that a rainy day offers to slow down, cozy up, or perhaps even be washed clean of some of the metaphorical dust and grime of everyday life.
Many of us HSPs relish the change of season or weather offers us. In this week's blog, I'm reflecting on how weather affects our thoughts, feelings, and activities.

Have you had a tough start to your day recently? It happens to the best of us! In this week's blog, I'm sharing a recent difficult day in my household and what I did - personally and with my kids - to recover and turn the day around.
In this episode, you'll learn:
-Get outside for a short mindful walk - or trip to the playground or park
-Acknowledge to yourself and/or your kids that the day is not going well, and state an intention to "turn the day around." You can even brainstorm & get creative about what you need to make this happen!
-Forgive yourself - and each other - for being grumpy or for any other bumps in the road. If you can, laugh at yourself or the situation, with kindness and self-compassion.

Are you an HSP Parent who hates playdates? This week's podcast is for you! I've recently been giving some thought to why playdates can be draining for so many of us Highly Sensitive and Empath parents, and wanted to share my reflections with you. Listen to this podcast for some easy tips on how to make playdates less overwhelming and stressful.
Hey HSP and Empath Parents! This week's blog is the third and final of our "Boundary Setting" series. If you (like me) struggle to say "no" or set boundaries around your time and energy, this blog is for you!
In last week's blog and podcast, I explored why it is so difficult for HSPs and Empaths to set healthy boundaries. This week, I'm sharing 3 affirmations to help HSP parents set and maintain boundaries.
So many of us HSP parents have a difficult time setting boundaries with our time, energy, and the people around us. As parents, we already put a great deal of our time and energy into caring for our children, leaving precious little left over for other people. This week's blog explores WHY it is so challenging for many of us to say "No," or to set boundaries around our time and energy. You can find our blog at www.highlysensitiveparenthood.com
This week's topic is a little different than the normal "tips and tricks" style post - we're looking at the words "parenting" and "parenthood." Does one of these words feel more loaded or pressured than the other? Check out my thoughts.
How do you all feel about affirmations? While some may view them as silly, our self-talk does have a powerful impact on our state of mind! I've created several affirmations that I’ve created specifically for Highly Sensitive parents and caregivers. This week's blog (link in bio) includes a FREE printable/downloadable image to remind you always to speak to yourself with love.
When was the last time you felt refreshed and optimistic after reading the news? Highly Sensitive People tend to process deeply, and feel the emotions of others acutely, which is a ripe combination for both ruminating on negative news stories and also feeling depressed or anxious after reading an upsetting news story. In my newest podcast, I'm sharing some helpful tips on how to achieve a balanced and boundaried approach to news consumption.
