That's right sis! Taking responsibility for our health is how we live "The Sweet Life"

I wanted to share how I've been able to transform my own health and wellness in 2023.

From joining a gym for the very first time in my life and it has taught me so much about how our health and wellbeing is directly related to our quality of life.

I wanted to share my past experiences of not being able to imagine myself a gym lover and how the different stages of our lives can reflect our priorities and actions.

There's so much I talk about on this episode, not just about consistently going to the gym. But also how nutrition, sleep and stress are all connected to wanting to live a more healthy and active lifestyle.

Tune to hear how I'm tracking along on this new path of livin my sweet healthy life.

This episode is for the mums out there experiencing the daily pressure of life.

As a woman that plays multiple roles in my own life I have recently been feeling the struggle to keep it all together. Navigating different aspects of my life from work, motherhood, business along with parenting teenagers, it's gotten to a point where I've felt defeated and just over it!

In this episode I wanted to let other women out there know that you're not alone when it comes to feeling like you hold the weight of the world on your shoulders.

What I've realised is that life comes with it's hurdles and obstacles but learning to navigate and let go of trying to control everything cann help us to overcome the mental and emotion burdens we feel.

By acknowledging that we can only control our own thoughts and actions and sometimes what we think is going to happen may not play out like out the same way in reality.

Approaching the current challenges I'm facing with this mindset has helped me to let go of judgement and the external expectations in my life. Because sometimes in our lives we won't always be able to do or be everything but it doesn't mean it will always be like this way.

By making the shift in perspective we can realise that what happens in our lives is meant to happen for us and that we don't always need to know the outcome.

In this podcast episode I wanted to share how you can show up on social media without the fear and overwhelm.

Based on my own experience of being in the online space for the last 5 years, I know how hard it can be when you first start out on social medial. It doesn't matter which platform you use, whether its Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, Pinterest and now Threads.

When I first starting my personal blog on Instagram I never wanted to speak or show my face on my profile. I remember the fear of being judged and feeling worried about what others would think.

But then I would see others who had the same fears I had who were slowly starting to share their stories and how they were dealing with being so visible online. This was the the boost of inspiration I needed to help me tackle my own insecurities.

This change helped me to realise the importance of being authentic and taking time to build connections online. Developing this positive approach to using social media eventually helped me to discover how I could help others to feel the same way. Through finding my own unique self and developing confidence I began to love the interactions and connections I made online.

Whether you use social media for personal or business purposes it's important to create meaningful content that aligns with who you are, your values and what you feel passionate about.

Send me a DM on IG if you enjoyed this episode and feel free to recommend other topics you'd like me to chat about on the poddy.

It's July 2023, mid way through another year that seems to have flown by so fast.

In todays episode I share with you my 2023 vision board and the importance of knowing your values to help you reach those big milestones you desire.

I go deep into how different my life was prior to starting personal development almost 5 years ago and the lack of purpose and vision I felt in my own life. The struggles of being an over worked mum with major mum guilt with no direction was the norm for me most of my life. I touch on the pivotal moment that literally changed my life and how I developed a new path and direction.

The key to building a successful life is starting with self-discovery and knowing what you DO and DON'T want in your life. This has helped me to create my own personal vision board since 2022 and how by doing this at the beginning of each year it has transformed my life.

Developing a strong connection with yourself first is the true power of self-belief and setting realistic goals to help you create the life of your dreams. I speak about my recent reflection of my 2023 goals and how grateful I feel about already achieving most of what I set to do.

I go into my top goals I had set out at the beginning of the year and how I been able to stay motivated each day to working towards them. These goals directly aligned with my values of faith, health and well being, creating wealth and growing my business.

Simplifying your life by getting clear on what you want to prioritise can help you to start thinking about what you want to achieve so you can start livin the sweet life.

I encourage you to start with one goal and work from there. Overthinking and complicated the process can led to in action so keeping your goals simple and easy will make working towards them a lot less overwhelming.

My hopes for this episode is to empower and encourage more woman to take control of their lives by create a fulfilling life aligned with their values.

Send me a DM on Instagram and let me know what are your goals for the rest of 2023.

Are you ready to start livin the sweet life?

In this episode I share why I've been absent from the poddy for the last few months and some valuable lessons regarding my personal and business life.

From starting the journey to wearing the hijab (head scarf) to losing a close friend to cancer. Through my latest life experiences I have had to really go deep inside and re evaluate how to navigate my way back to my purpose and mission.

Grief is a powerful emotion and although it never fully leaves you I also believe it can be used in a positive way to move through life.

Despite grief and loss I'm fully committed to sharing my experiences, helping others and building relationships that add value.

As I start to rebrand  "Sweet as Virtual" to align with the podcast I am excited for this evolution of my personal brand. In only 2 short years of being in business I have grown not only professionally as an entrepreneur but immensely in my personal life.

I share with you my personal and business goals for the future and I encourage you to really take the time to define what "Livin the Sweet Life" means to you.

If you're looking for inspiration to live your best life, tune in to this episode and join the journey.

This is one of those impromptu episodes where I ponder over the millions of thoughts that run through my brain.

In today's episode I wanted to share some takeaways  from the week I've had:

  • My first week of voice coaching with my long term client has gone.
  • The revelations I've realised about all parts of my life and how the more I focus on what I enjoy doing everyday the lighter the mental and emotional load becomes - kinder.
  • How everything we do day to day is all connected
  • Enjoying as much of our life as possible because when you look out into the world it isn't the same for everyone

If there's one thing that I want to take from these realisations it's that when we focus on finding the right balance for ourselves we start living life on a deeper level and start to develop a sense of fulfilment and happiness.

Head to my website and do my Passion and Purpose quiz to find out what it is you really want to be doing in life.

Kia Ora/ Welcome,

This episode is a special one as it was my first interview while on holiday back in my home country of Aōtearoa/ New Zealand in December 2022.

I was excited to chat with the one and only Te Kahukura Boyndon who is the young woman behind the brand Māori Millionaire.

Te Kahukura is law student on a mission to empower māori to become financially independent through sharing education in finance, investment and personal development.

This was such an inspiring conversation as I shared my own story with Te Kahukura of being māori and navigating my way through starting an online business. For me the concept of being an entrepreneur or even a millionaire as a māori women was something I had never experienced or seen before. When I discovered Māori Millionaire on social media it was such an empowering moment and it made me proud that we can change the narrative as māori and help our people to create financial freedom for themselves and their whānau (family).

Te Kahukura speaks about the statistics in Aōtearoa when we compare the opportunities and resources provided to māori vs non māori. The real and raw truth is in Aōtearoa māori are stereotyped as being associated with relying on the social welfare system, being a large population in the justice system and high school drop outs. Te Kahukura speaks about her own personal story and the main reason why she created this platform as she experienced this during her childhood. We speak about her future plans to complete her law degree and to expand the Māori Millionaire platform.

I truly admire Te Kahukura for the values she lives by and her dedication to uplifting our people in Aōtearoa. It makes me even more proud that she is as a young māori woman who is pursing her dreams of giving back to her people.

Please see all the social links below of where you can connect and support Te Kahukura and Māori Millionaire.

  • I am also an affiliate of the Māori Millionaire community and as a thank you from Te Kahukura my listeners can will receive a$5 discount from any of the Māori Millionaire products on the website.

Use the promo code "sweetaz" at the checkout to redeem the discount.

Help us to achieve this mission by sharing all of the content you love from Māori Millionaire with your friends and whānau xx

I maybe a little late to the poddy party but like they say all good things take time.

Welcome back to the first episode of 2023. I hope the year has started well for you and your loved ones.

Today's episode I will be reflecting on how I ended 2022, the emotional struggle of coming back to my day to day life, pivoting my business from social media manager to personal development coach and my goals for the year ahead.

To be very honest my holiday back to NZ was exactly what I needed. Going back to see my family after so many years and to just spend time with them was the best part of being on holiday. Of course I did do the touristy thing and visit places I never did when I actually lived in NZ which made me realise most of the time we take for granted the life we are actually living everyday.

It was very emotional for me to leave my home and come back to Australia but deep down in my heart I know I will go back again soon.

Getting back into everyday life after being on holiday is always hard and there was no exception for me either. I struggled with visualising what I wanted to do in 2023 and how I would pivot my business to becoming a coach.

The only strategy I had for transitioning my business was to use all the tools I acquired over the years in my journey and especially what I learnt about myself in 2022.

My conclusion was to make business and life simple and to not overthink the how!

With that being said I created 2 new coaching services that I'm absolutely excited about thats the key right there. Create offers and habits in your business and your life that you actually enjoy. Lead with intention and everything else will for into place.

When it came to my goals for 2023 they are more long term big goals for the future which I've broken down into small goals that I want to focus on this year.

From health, wealth and living more in aligned with my values I created a free digital vision board using Canva to break down these goals for the year.

I've decided to join a women's only gym in my local neighbourhood to starting making my health a priority, stay committed to growing my business and podcast, feel confident in this new path I'm taking as a coach and to continue investing in my financial future.

As a multi passionate person I acknowledge that having so many things I want to do is a lot but as long as I'm doing something each day towards these goals then I intend to enjoy the journey to reaching those goals.

This is one important thing I've realised to date and that is it doesn't matter what the goal is as long as you stay committed to never giving up you will surely succeed.

I am so excited for another year of bringing you more value in future episodes and of course inviting guest speakers to share their knowledge on how they've navigated their way through life and business.

If you are on the path of self discovery and want to be supported in your own personal development then I'd love to hear from you. Reach out to me via the links in the show notes as I'd love to help you discover what your mean to do.

See you soon

That's right! This episode is recorded while I'm back in my beautiful homeland of New Zealand. I've waited the whole year to come back to Aōtearoa and it's been the best way to wrap up a huge year for me.

After being away for almost 8years I started the year with the intention and belief that I would be back for a holiday in December 2022. I've missed New Zealand so much, especially my family like everyone around the world after Covid.

To come back and spend the last weeks of this amazing year with loved ones at home has helped me to energise and fuel my soul on so many levels.

I intentionally chose to not share my holiday plans because I wanted to focus on organising family, business, work and life before I left Perth. When I first arrived a few weeks ago I jumped onto my IG business page and did a live to say I was back and officially "unplugging" from business and social media to be present and enjoy my break.

Being back here has really got me reminiscing on all the memories I have of home. From old childhood homes and schools, to the hospitals where the kids were born to where me and my husband have raised our kids, it's been a nostalgia overload!

To end 2022 I want to continue to evolve and live true to my values in 2023.

There's a lot I want to do in the next 12 months but if this year has taught me anything it's to continue to pursue my passions God Willing.

And on that note I want to take this opportunity to thank you for supporting me since starting Livin The Sweet Life. I am truly grateful for making the time to listen to these episodes. I hope I can continue to inspire and encourage you in new year to stay true to your dreams and help you to live your sweet life.

Wishing you and your loved ones a blessed New Year!

Signing off from Auckland, New Zealand with what we like to say here in Aōtearoa "Sweet Az"

This is exactly what Sarah Kelsey from The OneUp Project did and in this episode we speak about how she's had to adapt to leaving the comfort of life in New Zealand to living overseas in Bali, Indonesia.

I've been listening to The OneUp Project for over a year and I love how Sarah shares everything in a real and down to earth way that I have always resonated with.

Getting to know Sarah more personally and speaking about her values of taking risks and being curious is a concept I've connected with and have tried to apply in my own life. Sarah shares openly about how she decided to pursue her passion of living in alignment with her values led her to move overseas.

We speak about Sarah's new life in Bali and what she has learnt from being in a completely different environment and country. Together we share our experiences of being out of our comfort zones this year and how we've navigated through past conditioning to live in a way that is true to us.

I share my first time leaving New Zealand in 2005 to visit my husbands native country of Pakistan and how that experience changed my whole perspective of how I lived when I returned to New Zealand. I talk about the culture shock and narrow mindedness I felt during my holiday in Pakistan was based on beliefs that were not my own but more so how countries like Pakistan are portrayed in western media.

When I reflect back on that experience I realised that the reason I struggled to enjoy my holiday in Pakistan was because I decided to take onboard other peoples perceptions and create a belief about the local people and country that was far from what I actually saw and experienced at the time.

Sarah's experience of how she has been open and conscious of her new life in Indonesia has helped her to see both sides of the coin and adjust in a country that is rich and diverse in culture. Like Sarah I have also seen the huge poverty and wealth gap in a developing country like Indonesia and how it has changed us both personally.

I commend Sarah and what she has created with The OneUp Project podcast. For me it is women like her who choose to share their vulnerable moments, life lessons and celebrations in a real and authentic way that inspire me to stay true to my values and to keep livin my sweet life.

Today's episode I am joined by a beautiful sister here in Perth who I have had the pleasure of seeing in action for the past 6 weeks.

Khadija Al Khaddour is a Mum to four boys, a qualified and experienced parenting coach, educator and motivational speaker for over fifteen years. She has worked with muslim families, mothers, and children in various self-development workshops and programs locally and internationally.

Together we talk about how as women we can fall into living our lives on autopilot and feeling disconnected to who we are.

We dive deep into Khadija's experience in coaching other muslim women and how I have resonated with the same women she has coached over the years. Through recently discovering my own childhood hood trauma we speak about the generational conditioning that is passed down from our own mothers and how it shows up for us as adult women and how we parent.

I share how I've lived life unconsciously and the resentment I pushed onto my loved ones around me because I was not self aware and in tune with who I was as a personal.

Khadija touches on key areas of how once we become aware in developing our sense of self we can begin to heal and rewrite the old stories we've been telling ourselves for so many years.

The mind is such a powerful tool but until we take responsibility of our own thoughts it will always want to keep us safe and comfortable.

Khadija shares a simple way for you to move through the self doubt, fear and the feeling of being lost by getting intimate with yourself. That's right sisters! We need to start asking ourselves these questions:

  • What it is you truly want?
  • How do you want to live your life?
  • What makes you happy?
  • What are your values and why are they important to you?

The more we make ourselves a priority the better versions we get to share with our loved ones and the world.

Both me and Khadija are huge advocates of self development and we both know when you make an investment in yourself the return you receive is life changing.

Khadija hangs out on Instagram and Facebook where she shares more of her wisdom and expertise in coaching other muslim sisters.

I am truly grateful to have had this opportunity to speak with Khadija and I can't wait to have her back on the podcast in future episodes.

If you'd love to work with Khadija then head to her links below and be sure not to miss out on her 6 month coaching program Thrive and Shine starting late January 2023.

As-Salamu Alaykum

Imagine a 3 day work week? Does that concept come easy for you or is does it seem too unrealistic?

Just the thought of having the ability to obtain such freedom in my life was a complete foreign concept to me 12 months ago. And like most people in life, we all fear the unknown and "what if's" because our brain wants to keep us safe and comfortable.

This weeks episode is about exactly that.

How I went from working 5-6 days driving buses while starting out as an online entrepreneur, to now only working 3 days a week with the occasional weekend work if I CHOOSE and what I had to do to get to where I am now.

The journey to any place you desire to be is a test in itself filled with highs, lows and all the in betweens.

What I've learnt this year through going deeper into my own personal development journey is that I need to live life in a way thats good for ME. So if I want to do certain things in business or life then in order for me to see the change I have to feel it first and it has to feel right.

In this episode I want to share how the more I concentrated on my own happiness and what brought me joy the easier it was for me to make decisions and act on them.

This new way of operating is a complete transformation for me, just ask my hubby and kids. I've had to unlearn a lot of old habits and beliefs I once had around so many things in life and this topic is one of them.

For over 2 decades I have always worked in full time jobs so this new way of life was only possible with the help and support of my mentor Carla Townsend - Money Mindset Mentor ( check out the link to her website below).

I don't want you to feel like you have to do what I've done because we all lead different lives with different circumstances.

Here are a few tips I want you to remember when listening to this episode:

  • You 100% deserve true happiness and fulfilment in your life
  • Let go of trying to achieve the outcome or result and enjoy the process
  • When you are true to yourself it all works out
  • Take inspiration from others but remember you sail your own boat
  • Only do what feels good for you

As 2022 is almost at an end I can't wait to keep sharing more of how you can start livin your sweet life in 2023.

Stay tuned for the next few episodes where I have some amazing guests who have also helped me to bring my sweet life to a reality.

Stay real and true

This weeks episode is about getting through those bumps in the journey called life.

I'm going to be honest and say this is exactly what is happening right now behind the scenes in my life. It isn't looking or feeling like I'm livin the sweet life thats for sure.

And this is exactly why I wanted to talk about it, to help you through those times when you might not be feeling like your on top of "your stuff".

With the end of year drawing near I know a lot of people are feeling the same way too. In the next episode I'll share more around how I plan to finish up 2022 but first let me share a little more about how I've been feeling this week:

  • Excited and grateful to have my hubby back from his holiday
  • Not feeling like posting or showing up on my social media
  • Exhausted and tired from work - the roads around Perth are starting to get crazy
  • Inconsistent with my exercise
  • Emotional and sad because the mastermind is ending soon
  • Frantically trying to complete my client work before the end of the month
  • Finding time to organise my next 2 guest speakers for the podcast
  • End of the school year for the kids
  • Thinking about 2023 and how my life and business will look

The list could go on but what I've realised is, no matter the time of year or what is happening around me currently, life comes in seasons and nothing is forever.

Just like the weather changes from summer, autumn, winter and spring, so do we in our lives. Sometimes we feeling like life couldn't be better and other times it's a complete shambles.

The most important thing is to acknowledge these feelings when we have them and give ourselves more love, understanding and compassion. Letting go of our own expectations and trusting in the process rather than worrying about the outcome is the difference between feeling like a failure and having faith everything will work out.

Lean into your faith, beliefs or practises you like to do to help manage the emotions and mental effects that show up for you.

I want you to know that you are not alone and if there's anything I can do to help you balance the waves of life then please feel free to reach out to me anytime through my links below.

Remember, livin the sweet life isn't always easy but we don't have to struggle on our own.

Peace be upon you
Aisha

In today's episode I share how starting Sweet Az Virtual has impacted me as a person. It's still early days for me but I share the struggles and beliefs I had to overcome to even start moving the needle in my life.

You see, starting a business is like starting a new relationship, with yourself. In the beginning as an online entrepreneur you are it: CEO, Virtual & Marketing Assistant, Social Media Manager, Accountant, its your job to manage all the roles of your business.

The main priority when I started marketing Sweet Az Virtual on Instagram was focussing on my mindset. I knew I was going into unfamiliar territory and my thinking and beliefs would be the make or break of this business. As online service providers we are navigating our way through the social media world and trying to grow and scale our businesses to be successful. This road can be lonely and scary but only if your not willing to take action and seek help.

Once I made this decision to change my mindset and my life I then looked for ways to take the action I needed to do that. I made a commitment to long term growth for my business and my personal development which is why I knew I couldn't do it alone.

Finding my coach almost 12 months ago is the difference between thinking about change and actually doing it. Like any investment I was conscious there was a price to pay, but once I decided to make the change and create the life I desired I trusted in my faith and values that everything would work out.

Having the right support is the key to helping you to help yourself and start taking the steps towards your goals. I honestly don't know if I would've made the big mental shifts without the support my coach throughout this year. She has helped me to do things I wouldn't have ever been able to do alone.

This is why I am so excited to start offering 1:1 coaching services in 2023 so I can help other female entrepreneurs create lives that are filled with passion and purpose. There is nothing more powerful than finding what lights you up from inside and being able to share that with others.

Woah! I never thought in a million years my first guest on the podcast would be my 16yo daughter Amira. I swear this isn't a marketing gimmick, she actually asked to come on the podcast and if you haven't noticed by now but, you know I love a good chat!

On this episode we speak about the positive mindset shifts she has seen in me and herself, our connection to Islam and how our relationship has really transformed this year through working closely together in my business. As a Mum I couldn't be more proud of Amira and how she has supported me since starting Sweet Az Virtual.

Some say not to mix family with business but I truly believe that if your intentions are from a place of mutual respect and understanding then eventually it all works out.
I hope to have Amira back on the podcast again soon and who knows maybe the rest of the family will be brave to jump onboard too.

Let me know what you thought of the episode by heading to my social links below.

I'd love your inspiration for ideas on future topics and guests you'd love to hear on the podcast.

Recently I've had some unresolved childhood wounds show up in my life. These have triggered me in how I parent my kids, especially my 16 year old daughter. It's been an emotional rollercoaster of a week, with me loosing my mind and lashing out at my daughter during a driving lesson ( not one of my best Mum moments!) and feeling stuck in my business on how to pivot into coaching. I've been on this self development journey for almost 5 years and I've only scratched the surface with bringing awareness into my adult life when it comes to healing my past. What's really become apparent for me over this last week is that now more than ever I need to be my own life coach. Not for the sake of my business or to get clients but to begin the journey of healing my childhood. In this episode I speak about my parents and the relationship I had with my Mum growing up and how it shows up for me in my own family dynamic. If there's anything I've learnt from these recent moments it's that I'm grateful to have the love and support from my family, coach and online community. Although this is only the beginning of my journey to livin my sweet life, I hope it reminds you that we all have a past but it doesn't have to define who we want to be today or in the future. I look forward to sharing more of these moments as they come up in real time. Livin the Sweet Life isn't just about focussing on the good things in life but also acknowledging the lessons we learn and how to build resilience to keep moving through them.

Personal life update: My hubby is away for 4 weeks overseas on holiday and I'm left to solo parent our two teens. This isn't the first time for me. Back in 2014 I moved from New Zealand to Australia alone with both my kids to start our lives again.

At the time it was one of the toughest moments I had to face alone as a Mum but I knew I had to just suck it up and get on with it. Settling into a new city and country is always hard but not having the support of family or friends makes it even more challenging. In three months I managed to settle my kids into a new school, get a full time job and find a rental property all while still being a full time Mum.

I don't know how I got through it but all I remember is not thinking too much and just doing what I needed to do. I wanted to share this time in my life as a reminder to you that no matter what lessons you face in your own life nothing is ever permanent. I truly believe courage is like confidence and that it can only be experienced through doing the best you can regardless of how hard it may seen. I have also learnt this in starting my own business. Becoming a business owner has really tested my own self beliefs and helped me to reframe and relearn how I do business and life.

Never losing faith that you can overcome the lessons in life and choosing to keep trying every day is my definition of learning how to live your Sweet Life.

Come and hang with me on a chilled Saturday night where I take you back to the moment that changed everything. I share with you all the details of one of the most toughest experiences I've ever had to go through in my life. If you've ever suffered a workplace injury then you know the pain isn't just physical but far more deeper than what anyone can see. I haven't always been so open to share this time in my life but it's actually what came from it that led me to start my journey of healing through personal development. Hear how I found a new lease on life and started taking care of myself and living rather than existing.

Take #2 🎬 I'm already warming up to this poddy gig!! Self reflection is a powerful tool that has really helped me to see just how far I've come in creating a life where I can fill my cup each day. After sudden news of a family member in critical condition in hospital it felt timely to share more about my values and the importance of how I want to spend my time. I go deep into the massive changes and mindset shifts I've made in 2022 by taking back my power and investing in living life on my own terms.

Hey girlfriend! It's taken me months to get this first episode out but I did it 🤩
Here's a bit of an intro and background into who I am and why I decided to start my own podcast. It wasn't until recently that I actually started to believe that anything I shared would benefit others and it was the same with starting my own online business in 2021.
I want Livin the Sweet Life to be a podcast that inspires other women to find their shining light so they too can live their lives in a way that is real and true to them.
