If someone followed you around for 24 hours… would they think you're actually going anywhere?

Oof. I said what I said.Because too many women are talking about the life they want but their actions are telling a completely different story.

In this episode, I’m asking the question that might sting a little: Are you proud of the way you're showing up for your dreams right now?Or are you hiding, half-doing it, or waiting for “someday” to finally arrive?

This isn’t to make you feel guilty. This is to call you into your power. And if you’re brave enough to listen, this might just be the moment everything starts to shift.

What if you got curious instead of critical? 🤔

The next time you see a photo of yourself, instead of picking it apart, ask yourself: Why do I feel this way? Where did this belief come from?

Because your worth was never tied to an angle, a pose, or the way the camera caught you in that moment. A photo is just that—a moment, not a measurement of your beauty, value, or confidence.

You are still THAT GIRL. No bad lighting, awkward pose, or unflattering angle could ever take that away from you. 💥

Who told you that self-love has to take years? That you have to suffer, struggle, and ‘earn’ your way to feeling worthy? 👀

The truth is: you get to decide how long it takes you.

Quantum leaps aren’t reserved for a lucky few. You don’t have to wait until you hit rock bottom or achieve some imaginary ‘perfect’ version of yourself to start loving the woman you are today.

You could spend a lifetime hating yourself… or you could decide right now that you are done with that story. Done waiting. Done shrinking. Done believing self-love is somewhere in the distant future.

Queen, your dream life starts when YOU say so. And I’m breaking it all down in today’s podcast episode. 🎙️🧡

🚩 You’ve heard them. Maybe you’ve said them. Phrases like:
❌ “You carry your weight well.”
❌ “I need to slim down before [event].”
❌ “She’s so confident for her size.”
❌ “I was so bad for eating that.”

These comments might seem harmless, but they reinforce fatphobia—both in the way you see others and how you see yourself. The more you say them, the more you internalise them.

🎧 In this episode I'm...
🔥 Breaking down why these phrases are harmful
🔥 How rejecting fatphobic language changes your body image
🔥 What to say and do instead

It’s time to take your power back—starting with the words you choose. 💥

I used to HATE my curly hair. 😞

For years, I straightened my curly hair every single day. I thought my curls were messy, unruly—something to be fixed.

But the truth? My rejection of my curls was just another way I was rejecting myself. 💔

I was rejecting my Polynesian identity without even realising it. I had been taught—like so many of us—that our features, our hair, our natural selves weren’t “good enough.” And that lie kept me from fully embracing who I am.

In this episode, I’m sharing how I unlearned the belief that my natural hair wasn’t good enough and what it taught me about self-love, worthiness, and embracing ALL of who I am. Because how many of us are still at war with parts of ourselves, trying to fit into a version of beauty that was never meant for us?

Tune in now, Queen—this one’s for you. 🎧✨

What’s some daily habits that can help me build body confidence over time?
Stop talking 🤫
Like actually STFU 🤐
We’ve normalised disrespecting, mocking and speaking poorly about ourselves and it needs to stop ✋
I need you to filter yourself
(And this is the only time I’ll tell you to do this)
But you need your filter the words that come out of your mouth 👄
Too often I hear women say things like…
“My stomach is so disgusting”
“I look like a whale”
“I’m fat and ugly”
“I’m so gross”
“I’m so bad, I ate so much today, I need to starve myself”
“I’m worthless because I look like this”
Like no!
Stop with this language ✋
Literally stop talking shxt about yourself and watch your life change!
Start NOW and let me know how you go 🧡

I hate seeing my sister struggle with her confidence, how do I help her?
Such a beautiful q, I love that you care so much about your sis 🥰
But unfortunately you can’t want it more than her
You can’t become confident and then transfer it to her
What you can do tho is keep doing you boo 🙌
Keep showing up as the most confident version of you
And maybe some of your confidence magic may land on her 🪄🤞

I’ve been working on my body confidence but negative thoughts about my body keep popping up. Is this normal?
Yes❣️
Building body confidence takes time ⏰
Think about it - these negative thoughts have been around most of your life
(For me they were around for OVER 20 years) 😒
Acknowledge the thought without judgement
When these thoughts pop up, instead of getting caught up in it
Become aware and decide whether or not you’re going to allow them to take up space in your mind 🧠 #youcantsitwithus
Notice what triggers the thoughts 💭
Remove the trigger
Rinse and repeat 🔁

Here’s why although these seem like compliments, they’re not!…
“I wish I had the confidence to wear something like that”
This makes it sound like the person's clothing choice is an act of bravery because of their body size (you wouldn’t say this to a smaller person)👎
“You carry your weight well”
Implies that their size is something they need to manage or "carry" in a certain acceptable way👎
“You’re not fat, you’re beautiful!”
This reinforces the idea that being fat isn’t beautiful👎
“You’ve lost weight, you look amazing!”
Puts value on weight loss as a prerequisite for beauty or worth👎
“I love seeing big people still dress stylish and make an effort in the way they look”
It suggests that dressing well or putting effort into appearance is something unexpected for people in bigger bodies, reinforcing harmful stereotypes that larger people don't typically care about themselves👎
“Good for you for loving your body!"
Suggests that loving a fat body is rare or difficult👎
“You’re not fat, you’re just big-boned!"
This comment tries to dismiss or downplay a person’s size and reinforces that they can’t accept their body/big is not good👎
“I wish I had your attitude and/or confidence!"
Implies that a fat person’s confidence is surprising or that they "shouldn't" feel good about themselves👎
"You look great for your size!"
Suggests that there are separate standards for fat people, implying that someone is only attractive despite their size👎
Here’s what you can say in response to backhanded compliments❣️
“I know you mean well, but that comment actually feels backhanded. Please don’t make that comment again” and redirect the conversation or walk away
Ask for clarification -
“What do you mean by that?“
This usually makes them think about what they’ve just said and hopefully they realise it’s not ok but if not it allows you to explain to them why what they’ve said isn’t ok
Be straight up! (I use this one with family/friends) -
“Sounds like the Fatphobia/Internalised Fatphobia in you is talking”
This allows them to realise they are being Fat phobic and in turn realise what they’ve said is not ok👎

More examples 👇
"I’m so proud of you for going to the gym/being active!"
This can sound condescending, as if it’s shocking for a fat person to engage in fitness, reinforcing harmful stereotypes about inactivity and laziness👎
“You’re so brave for wearing that!”
Suggests that their body doesn’t usually "deserve" that type of clothing👎
"I could never pull that off!"
Implies that the person is somehow unusual or unexpected for wearing something fashionable or bold👎

Queen! If self-doubt, imposter syndrome, or caring what others think is holding you back from creating content, this episode is for you!

Today, I’m keeping it real about how to create with confidence and post anyway - even when it feels messy.

You don’t have to be perfect. Just start.

Wear the filter if you want, embrace the imperfections, and be yourself.

Confidence comes from taking action, not waiting for everything to be ‘just right.’

Thank you for being here and listening 🧡

I appreciate you so much!

Hey Queen, please enjoy this bonus ep of a live I did on IG. Q is "Do the people around you affect your confidence?"
Yes❣️
If you’re around 5 unconfident insecure people you will be the 6th 💥
When I look back to when I really struggled with my body confidence, looking at the environment I was in…
It made sense
I was around people who would comment negatively on their weight, my weight, everyone’s weight and mock eachother all the time
Once I started moving away from them and getting around body positive people, reading books, podcasts, etc that promoted body confidence
I was then able to create a safe space for me to show up how I wanted 🥰
Look around your life 👀
Are the people around you uplifting and inspiring?
If not, get around people who are 🔥
If you love this korero and need support with your confidence

Hey Queens!

Please enjoy this bonus ep from a IG live I did, question is "How Do You Manage The Difference Between How Others Perceive You & How You Perceive Yourself?"
💥 How people perceive you is none of your business
💥 People perceive you as they are, not as you are
💥 We can’t control how others perceive us but we can control how we perceive ourselves
💥 Work on the way you see yourself
💥 Stop changing yourself to fit in
💥 Be so secure and confident in yourself that when people don’t like you it doesn’t affect who you are
This is one of the many things I teach in my NEW program

💥 Check in with your body, are you triggered?
💥 Would you take advice from this person?

Criticism isn’t always a bad thing, sometimes it’s a great opportunity for growth

I only ever saw exercise as a way to lose weight. Now I exercise for my health, to be fit, strong and be able to keep up with Mets and my future kids.Let’s stop punishing ourselves and give ourselves a kind loving push to the next levelThanks for listening queen xx

Hey sis! Thank you for being here. On this weeks poddy I uncover a trigger of mine haha those 30 day challenges😒The reason why it triggers me is because all my life I’d chase these challenges for weight loss reasons and I’d restrict myself for the 30 days and lose the weight but then once it’s done I’d revert back to everything I was previously doing and just put the weight back on again. It became very unhealthy and I think people are doing them for all the wrong reasons My whakaro - why start if it’s not something you wanna sustain and do for a life time?If it’s good for you, why wouldn’t you wanna keep doing it? If it’s not good for you, why would you wanna start it? I recently embarked on a 30 day challenge and here are my thoughts. Have a listen and let me know what you think 🧡

On this weeks poddy I speak about not caring what people think and let's be real, it's a thing and something even to this day I have to check myself for.I share with you how your judgment of others relates to how you care what others think. How important it is to be secure in yourself, know your values, worth and what you stand forThat you need to challenge and investigate your thoughts and why you careWriting down the impact that caring what others think has on your life and where it is stopping you from living your best lifeHaving boundaries and saying no, having self compassion and having the right support system around you is so so important And that, at the end of the day, it's not about you. It's about them!

There's so many factors as to why we may feel like we are behind in life - on this week's episode I unpack this...

Sometimes we feel behind because we are comparing ourselves and what we've achieved in life to societies expectations, how our friends and family are doing or what their expectations are, we compare ourselves to where we thought we would be - for me that was married and pregnant at 21 years old LOL

I give tips on how to overcome this like seeing our so called "failures" as lessons, celebrating what we have accomplished as opposed to dwelling on what we haven't

Asking ourselves the question "Am I happy?"

And celebrating the fact that if we aren't happy we are doing something about it as opposed to moaning about it and doing nothing

BTW - If you do find you are moaning about it this is your friendly kick up the butt to do something about it!

I'd love to hear your thoughts here

Enjoy!

Hey my love, I'M BACKK!! Aroha mai for missing last week I was absolutely bedridden all week but this week makes up for it because I am sharing with you all the lessons i've learnt from recently going back to a 9-5.

I talk about the shame, fear of failure and resistance of going back

How it has helped me understand the women I work with more

I speak about how it is a right now phase and not a forever phase

How easy it is to get stuck into work gossip and drama and the importance of having other things going on for you outside of work and how not having this may lead to a feeling of hopelessness

The company doesn't gaf about you so put yourself first

I was able to remember how nice it is to work for someone else, do your time and leave (having a biz is a 24/7 gig)

And so much more...

Please enjoy and let me know what you think!

How to find your purpose 🫶
This q has come up a few times with my clients so I thought I’d share with you some tips on how to find your purpose…
Take time for yourself to reflect
What matters to you?
What are your value, interests, passions?
What topics make your feel alive and engaged?
Look back at past experiences where you felt fulfilled or purposeful
What are your strengths, talents, skills?
What comes naturally to you?
What do you excel at?
What would you do if all your needs were met?
If you had all the time, money and resources?
What do you love to do?
What do people ask/come to you for?
What goals do you have?
TRY ALL THE THINGS❣️
What have you done?
Go travelling, take up that course, make a bucket list of all the things you wanna do before you go
Pay attention to moments in your life where you have deep satisfaction 🧡
Enjoy the journey!
Your purpose might just be living 🙌

I know I want to CHANGE but where do I start?
Start with finding out what’s stopping you❣️
What’s the thought that keeps popping up that is stopping you from making a change?
I wrote down some of the things clients have said in the past and shared how to overcome them
I’m scared of the unknown
I don’t want to feel discomfort
I lack clarity on what I want
I don’t like change
I have no motivation
It’s too hard!
I don’t have enough money, resources, support, time
I don’t think I’m good enough, smart enough, skinny enough, pretty enough
I’ve failed in the past and I’ll probably fail again
I’m so overwhelmed, it’s too much
I don’t have the patience
I’m worried about what others may think

How do I be more productive?

This is what I do to get shxt done…

📝 Write down everything you want and need to do

👉 Get clear on every task and break big tasks into smaller tasks

⏰ Prioritise your tasks - look up time matrix on YouTube and action

💨 For any task that takes less than 2mins do it immediately

🗓️ Set 1-3 tasks per day only

🛒 Batch similar tasks and same place tasks together

🥰 Have realistic expectations and standards - you know yourself best

⚡️Schedule tasks at your best energy times

⏱️ Time block - set timer for 20mins, go hard and then take a break and repeat

📱Eliminate distractions - put your phone on do not disturb, go into a quiet room alone, etc

🚫 Say no to all the extra things people ask you to do, prioritise your to do list first

Routines, habits and organisation play a huge part into productivity. If you want more on this let me know here

On this weeks poddy episode I talk about how to stop worrying about your weight ✋

Waking up every morning thinking about how much I weigh, how to get that number down, starving myself, skipping meals, torturing myself with workouts and thinking about the numbers all day and night had me bloody exhausted

But now, none of that is on my mind and here’s a few reasons why…

I changed my environment

I got rid of the scales and diets I got rid of friends and family that would comment on their weight and always talk badly about theirs I stopped following people that had negative narratives on fat people and food

I got clear on what my beauty standards are

How do I show up as my fully expressed self? Or as I like to say being So Extra & proud ☺️
For so long I didn’t show up as my fully expressed self because I was worried about what people might think of me, that judgment and worry about not fitting in
Ask yourself - what is it costing me? For me it was my happiness, I was living a life where I was so bloody miserable 😩
Investigate where in your life you are hiding and why?
Challenge those thoughts 💭
Who do you want to be? What does your fully expressed self look like?
Become her ❣️
Back yourself - be okay with people not liking and understanding you
Would you rather live a miserable life surrounded by plenty of people? Or live a fully expressed so extra life alone?
Lowkey tho, you won’t even have to do it alone you’ll just have to make sure you surround yourself with like minded people who uplift you and love your fully expressed self!
Sit down and take time to get clear on these things
And then slowly take small steps to become the fully expressed version of you 🧡
If you need more support with this dm me 'TVT' on IG here

Been feeling very vulnerable in these spaces the last couple weeks but I feel like that's a given

It's a part of the level up and something I need to do to become the best version of me and become who I want to be

Being open, honest, and emotionally exposed is uncomfortable af and so challenging.

Sharing your true thoughts, feelings, and experiences to others and not knowing how people will respond is daunting.

But we have to remind ourselves that we are doing the best we can and we need to have a little self compassion.

Being vulnerable is necessary for growth

And that's what I am all about xx

How do I stop doubting myself?
Self doubt is normal
You’ll have self doubt but I think it’s important to know how to manage it
Think about the times when you feel self doubt, what are you doing?
Usually you’re about to go to that next level 🔥
Give your doubts attention, see them, hear them, what’s coming up?
What’s the worst case scenario? Let’s go there!
Have self compassion - of course you’re scared you’re about to do something big!! 😮‍💨
This is why people don’t grow, they don’t want to feel the feels and would rather stay comfortable - what are your options?
Remember who tf you are!!
Hype yourself up sis! None of this “stay humble” crap 🙄
Self doubt is a choice - choose a different thought to believe
“I can do it”
“Everything will turn out better than I ever thought”

How do I embrace my tummy/problem area? Love this q that came off the back of my last post 🧡
Firstly, your tummy/ body is not a problem and you don’t need to be fixed ❣️
I invite you to change your language
If you’re currently at a stage where you are aware of your thoughts around this area 💭
And you’ve challenged it ‼️
And now you are ready to change it
You need to…
Choose what you want to believe - don’t identify with that thought anymore, stop saying it ✋
Build a relationship with that area - get to know it, touch it, stop hiding it 🚫
Practice what it is that you want to do with people who support you and are a safe space
Take small steps to make who you want to be your current reality - practice makes progress
Once you’ve done it so much it’ll just become normal to you 🙌

How do I practice self compassion?
We lack a lot of self compassion when it comes to our body image
The mean things we say to ourselves and how negatively we talk about ourselves
“I hate my body, stomach, stretch marks, rolls”
“I’m not good enough, worthy, attractive”
“Ew, I look so fat and disgusting”
So I put together a easy to remember acronym - ACT
Awareness, Acknowledgment
Challenge, Change, Care
Thankfulness, Throw it away, Train yourself
ACT is my go-to for anytime I’m speaking negatively about myself
It stops me from going on this downward spiral of self hatred and self loathing and numbing out with social media, binge eating, etc
It’s a practice, we need to train ourselves to react differently then what we’ve been doing
The next time you say something bad about yourself, try practicing ACT and let me know what happens 🧡

Love this q that was asked in last weeks Fat Fridays Q&A IG live. Have a listen and let me know what you think xx

Self compassion is key sis 🔑 And I know it’s hard!
When you’re feeling down because of your weight the last thing you think you deserve is self compassion
But you do❣️
And if it’s hard to be kind to yourself think of a loved one - how would you treat them if they came to you telling you they hated their body?
I used to picture my nieces or nephews, I’d never say the nasty things I used to say to myself, to them
Instead I’d hug them and remind them that they’re more than their appearance and to challenge where they heard that thought
Do the same for yourself - Hug yourself 🥰
Remind yourself that you are more than your appearance and challenge that narrative 🤔
If you need more support with this come and join me in The Vibe Tribe

BONUS EP from my Fat Friday's Q&A Series

How do I stop judging the size of my body when I look in the mirror/photos?

Practice self compassion 🥰

Sis you’re incredible! You need to hype yourself up and show yourself all the love and kindness you give to others.

If this feels hard to do, think about a loved one and how you treat them - give that same love to yourself 🧡

Focus on what you love - we are so conditioned to go straight to what we hate when it comes to the mirror, instead point out what you love.

For me, it was my eyes and eyelashes so whenever I was in-front of a mirror I would just focus on that 😍🪞

Practice body neutrality - this is where you don’t love or hate your body, you’re just neutral.

You understand that your body is a vessel and holds all your magic and believe that it isn’t the most important thing about you

Challenge the thoughts you are having 💭

And challenge the unrealistic beauty standards ❣️

I've been getting abit of feedback online where people think I am promoting unhealthiness so I want to make it clear...

My message is that -

Your weight doesn't equal your worthiness

You can look in the mirror and love what you see as a fat person

You can be plus size and confident in your body

I think people get it twisted because they think that fat = unhealthy and I'm here to challenge that

Is it true?

There's also different types of health and health looks different to everyone

BUT

Regardless of health, we shouldn't treat people differently just because they are fat!

We need to dismantle fatphobia and internalised fatphobia

This is my problem

This is my message

Please don't get it twisted!

If you need help with your health (of any kind) please make sure to seek it! Big love sis!

Stop hiding in photos and videos, bending your body like crazy to look "flattering"

Embrace what your body truly looks like! Sure, we want to look good in photos but this narrative reinforces that tummy rolls, double chins, stretchmarks, etc is not beautiful and we must hide it.

Secondly, we forget what we look like and then compare the "unflattering" photo our mum posts to the "flattering" photo you post.

They can both coexist, we look different at every angle and every angle is okay.

We just aren't aware of it so we need to become aware to be okay and accept it.

This episode will help you overcome this and SHOW TF UP!

Ask yourself 💭 What’s currently stopping me from showing up confidently?

For me I had a lot of internalised fatphobia I had to unlearn

I was projecting my own insecurities btw! It had nothing to do with them

Choose to be confident - yes it’s a choice!

Stop telling yourself you are not confident ✋

Become her!!

Practice baby - I remember when I first started skating, I started on carpet and was falling over 😅

But I kept practicing and now I’m so very close to being pro 😂

Nearly all the ladies i've spoken to that don't love what they see in the mirror tell me that weight loss is the answer.

"Once I lose the weight then i'll be happy, i'll be confident, i'll love what I see in the mirror"

And i'm here to tell you that's not true!

I'm speaking from lived experience too and here's the reasons why...

  1. You'll look in the mirror and still be unhappy

  2. We've got it twisted - weight loss isn't a requirement for self love and acceptance

  3. You'll put the weight back on and have the same problem and continue the yoyo weight loss and dieting so many of us experience.

If you are sick of this negative cycle I welcome you to work with me here

Like I say in the podcast - this is deeper than weight loss

1 - If you celebrate someone for weight loss I feel like it’s almost automatic that when they gain weight they feel bad and like a failure.

You just told me losing weight was good so when I gain weight it’s obviously bad.

Instead of commenting on someone’s weight, highlight the way it’s made them feel or anything else that doesn’t involve physical appearance.
For me, my TOP TIER compliment is “Leesh, I love your energy!!” or "Leesh, I love your mind!!"

The Vibe Tribe is a 12 month coaching experience where you will learn how to be confident in your plus size body, know that your weight doesn't determine your worthiness and love what you see in the mirror!

According to our IG fam it is! I thought I would open up this convo to help people overcome this word. If someone referring to you as fat affects you negatively and sends you on a mental downward spiral I invite you to look at things differently... If we pull it all back - Fat is a describing word. It's not the word, it's what we make it mean. What are you making the word mean? Reclaim it! Take the power away from it! Self Awareness is key! You get to choose what it means!

I realise...

  • I put too much pressure on myself and need to be kinder to myself
  • The need to always be doing something stems from childhood and having a strict dad
  • I was caught up in the pressure of society and having to always be doing stuff
  • I need to spend less time on my phone/social media
  • If I stop checking in online I will get more shit done
  • I can have fun whilst smashing out my goals and dreams

On this weeks podcast episode we talk HIERARCHY!

This is something I had to unlearn and realise that I needed to stop putting people on a pedestal, at the end of the day we are all people with and without the titles. The main points in this episode are…

I speak on my  “don’t talk back ” childhood

It pays to explain things to children, not just “do this cos I said so”

Question everything and everyone

Just because they have a higher title than you doesn’t mean they are better

We need to learn how to have conversation without violence

Always speak up for what is right

I share with you a journal entry that made me realise why I was feeling the way that I was feeling. Reminder to have more self compassion in these moments, remember who tf you are and all your past accomplishments, surround yourself with supportive people, focus on yourself and try not to compare yourself to others, journal/meditate and unpack and question those thoughts with the 4 q's by Byron Katie, I end with a loving pep talk hehe.

No questions asked, no judgment passed! Haha IFYKYK!

On this weeks podcast I introduce a new segment, idk what it's called yet but I share with you a story to get you thinking.

I share the Zen story and talk about my takeaways...

  • Nothing exists until we give it meaning

  • We all have different perspectives that comes from the way we were raised, our environment, our conditioning, etc

  • We've all had different experiences in the world and that's why we have different viewpoints and opinions

  • It's not about the event, it's about what we make it mean

  • Learning not to have judgment 'bad luck, good luck, who knows?'

  • Have empathy, compassion and understanding for other people

I would love to hear what you got from this episode, tell me on IG @soextra.__

Ever felt the most you, the most free, the most real when you're travelling? Hi5!! That was me! And that's now something I call 'The Travel Affect'.

When you're in another country and feel on top of the world and you don't care what anyone thinks of you! I was thinking about this today and thought back to when I realised this, it was when I was doing the work on myself and creating my alter ego with my life coach. She asked Who do you want to be, What does your alter ego dress like, show up in the world, etc. And I wrote out all the things and then thought about moments when I felt that way and realised it was only when I was travelling.

As time went on I learned how to be that person whether I was travelling or not. That took a lot of practice, a lot of choosing. I would step into a room and choose to be my alter ego, I would raise my hand in a room full of people and choose to be my alter ego and I did this until it became the norm and I didn't have to keep pretending to be her anymore cos that's just who I was.

If this is something you struggle with also and you want to change and become your fully expressed self, ask yourself "Who do you want to be? What does she wear? What does she stand for? What are her values?" and slowly become that person, choose to be her in rooms full of people. Practice being her until it becomes the norm!

Hope you love this ep as much as I do!

Omg I just found this episode in the archives haha. An oldie but whakarongo mai!

On this episode I talk about my lessons from High School, take it with a grain of salt haha...

  1. It's not that serious, school seems so full on but honestly I don't even use half of the stuff I was taught in high sch in my everyday life. Have fun and enjoy high sch! Go party! Hahahaha and be present in the moment cos I feel like it goes by so fast!

  2. Fighting isn't cool, I wish we got taught the power of communication in high school and instead of resorting to fighting we talk it out. Drop the ego!

  3. Friends, if you struggle to make friends don't worry - you don't need them haha learn to be okay with being alone.

  4. If you're not planning to be a doctor, lawyer, etc where you need schooling for your career I wouldn't even worry about staying in school.

  5. Don't change honey, keep being who you are and don't let anyone dim your light. Don't listen to the people who try to bring you down, fxck what they think!

  6. Your environment is so important, check the company you keep.

Bruh, where do I even begin? Imposter syndrome hit me crazyyyy last month and I share with you a raw and real clip of me going through it.

Imposter syndrome is loosely defined as doubting your abilities and feeling like a fraud. That's how I was feeling - like a fraud!

I was questioning everything "is my life really as good as I say it is?" but once I shared with my safe spaces I felt comfort in knowing I wasn't the only one who felt these feels and as my coach says "this is the uplevel" New level, new devil am i right? Lol.

I share with you some things that helped me get through it...

  1. Feel the feels, get quiet, cry, laugh, do what you gotta do.

  2. Share with someone you trust/ your safe spaces.

  3. Journal - get your thoughts out of your head and onto paper. This helps clear your mind and gain more awareness of what's going on in your head.

  4. Question your thoughts "Is it true that i'm a fraud?" (Check out Byron Katie for the 4 q's if you wanna go deeper)

  5. Remember you deserve the life of your dreams!!!

I hope you love this episode as much as I do!!

Do you want to start a business? In this episode I talk about my business lessons. Something I am so passionate about. Here are my top tips that you probably aren't expecting lol.

  1. Work on your mindset - read books, podcasts, get a mentor/coach, etc

The difference between Leesh who started So Extra in 2018 to the Leesh who made So Extra her full time income was the difference in me working on my mindset. Working on my self doubt, comparison, caring what other people think, money scarcity/trauma, feeling like i'm not good enough, etc.

  1. Content is KING! Marketing is everything and so so important. Something I didn't know till I started, get on your social media and start making that content! If you need content ideas message me cos i'd love to help you!

  2. Stay consistent! Show up consistently. Think about the 'Know, Like and Trust' factor.

  3. Be intentional - why are you starting your business? Business is a marathon! Make sure you are starting your business for the right reason. Get your business plan down - what's your vision, mission, values, target market/audience.

Thank you for listening! If you feel called to please share with someone you know might love this episode. I would also love to hear any feedback and connect with you here

We have Gabby Goodman on the podcast yal! I found Gabby on Tik Tok and absolutely fell in love with her online presence.

We speak about her self love journey and what self love means to her, Quote 'Self love is being self aware' she shares about how she was bullied about her weight and what she learnt from that time in her life. We cover her relationship with food and bond over how much we love food hahaha.

Her confidence is something I absolutely adore and she so kindly shared with us some of her tips to creating confidence...

  1. Speak it into existence "you are beautiful, you are sexy, you are confident"

  2. Surround yourself with the right people - your vibe attracts your tribe

  3. Try new things, do things alone, become your bestie

Her biggest lesson in life is "People are important" if it wasn't for people we wouldn't have social media, connections, lessons, etc. You do something for one person and they do something for someone else and it's just a butterfly effect, we can change a whole nation. People and community are important.

I'm the biggest i've ever been in my life and I am the most confident!!

Body acceptance is something i've struggled with my whole life and today I speak on my journey, I've always been trying to lose weight and had the thought that 'once i get to x amount of kgs i'll be happier' but i've come to realise that it has nothing to do with the weight.

I've been 80kgs and I still had the same problem, I wasn't small enough, I still wasn't happy. It was never about the weight. It goes back to mindset, what you choose to think about yourself, what you think everyday and going back to where this initial thought came from. For me it was being called fat when I was little and comparing myself to other kids and clearly being chubbier.

Also, my body wasn't represented in the world so I was always trying to chase what 'society' labelled 'beautiful'.

If you struggle with this please go watch Lizzo's Watch out for the big girls and start working on your mindset queen!

You're beautiful honey!

I also cover the 5 main things I learnt at the retreat I attended in June...

  • I was always looking for outside validation and I realised 'Leesh you just need to validate yourself!'

  • Body Acceptance - It's not about the weight! Build a relationship with your body - become best friends.

  • Anger and resentment I had towards my parents - feeling neglected and learning to let go.

  • Numbing out on social media, tv, drinking, smoking, partying, etc - be ok with being still.

  • Who are you and why are you here? I am more than the labels. Figuring out my mission in life with TVT.

Thank you so much for listening!!!

Today I had the honour in sitting down with the amazing Alaina Key from Make It Pretty.

Alaina was one of the first polynesian women I found in biz that I looked up to so it was so perfect that she was my first guest.

We talk about how her biz came about, what key factors led to her success and she gave us tips for businesses who want to grow their following - get onto those instagram reels fam!

We also spoke about the effects covid had on her livelihood, biz and mental well being, her decision to move back home to NZ and how sad it is that when some poly's move from NZ to Aus they have a negative outlook on NZ.

We also close with her biggest lesson in life which was to evaluate your life - your priorities and values and see if your life aligns with it and then be brave enough to make the changes.

I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I did and don't forget to rate and review xx

You guys!!!! WTH this is my first podcast episode!!! Eeeeek!!

Thank you for being here and WELCOME to 'Life Lessons with Leesh'

This is a safe space where me and my guests can talk about our lessons which sometimes comes with pain/trauma and we talk about how that turned into power/triumph. I hope it gives you something to think about, inspires you, educates you on different topics and situations people go through and I also hope we have a little bit of fun!!

In this episode I talk about the lessons I learnt from getting fired from my dream job...

  • Don't rely solely on someone else for your income/You need to have multiple sources of income

  • Trust your gut

  • Honesty is the best policy

  • Choose your friends wisely

  • Your job doesn't define you and determine your "success"

  • Success to me is happiness

  • You have some many options and choices in life

  • Everything happens for a reason

All in all, getting fired was a blessing in disguise.

Thank you for listening xox
