Blind, Blurry, or Seeing Clearly
Mark 8:22-26 shows Jesus healing a blind man in stages, reflecting our spiritual growth.
Stage 1: Blindness—admit your need and cry out, “Lord, I want to see.”
Stage 2: Blurry—don’t settle for partial sight; pride blinds us further.
Stage 3: Clarity—sight brings responsibility. True vision isn’t just with our eyes but with our souls. Walk by faith, not by sight.

Fireproofing Your Mind
Mental wildfires can strike at any time, threatening our relationship with God, damaging others, and disrupting our peace. While the Bible doesn’t promise a fire-free life, it instructs us to take action when these challenges arise. Our hearts and minds are precious, and we must guard them diligently to prevent these fires from spreading.
As followers of Christ, we are called to be like a city on a hill, distinct and shining brightly. Matthew 5:14-16 (NIV)reminds us of this consecration, encouraging us to avoid being burned by the world’s fires. Part of this protection involves clearing the “dry brush” in our lives—unresolved issues like bitterness and offenses. Psalm 51:10 (NIV) says, “Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” By addressing these issues, we eliminate potential sparks that can ignite larger problems.
Another critical step is watering our minds and relationships with God’s truth. Philippians 4:8 (ESV) advises us to think about what is true, honorable, and pure. When we saturate our thoughts with God’s Word, we align ourselves with His will and prevent destructive ideas from taking root.
We also need to build strong defenses. Proverbs 4:23-27 (NLT) instructs us to guard our hearts, as they determine the course of our lives. Spiritual boundaries act like concrete walls, protecting our hearts even when everything around us burns. A fortified heart ensures our faith remains intact during trials.
Maintaining your own spiritual reservoir is equally important. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NIV) calls us to rejoice, pray, and give thanks always. A strong prayer life equips us to handle mental fires independently, ensuring we’re not reliant on others who may be unavailable during our time of need.
Accountability is another vital aspect of fireproofing. Just as firefighters partner with local departments to prepare for emergencies, we should partner with trusted spiritual mentors. Hebrews 13:17-19 (NIV) emphasizes the importance of submitting to spiritual leaders who guide us in maintaining spiritual health and addressing potential risks.
We must also guard against external influences. 1 Corinthians 15:33 (KJV) warns, “Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.” The devil is an arsonist, using others’ careless words, attitudes, and behaviors to spark fires in our lives.
Finally, we must examine our own words. Colossians 4:6 (NIV) says, “Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.” Our words hold great power; they can build others up or tear them down. If we’re not careful, we risk becoming fire starters used by the enemy.
Mental wildfires are inevitable, but it’s our responsibility to take control. By clearing spiritual debris, saturating ourselves in God’s truth, fortifying our defenses, and staying accountable, we can live fireproof lives. Guard your words, protect your heart, and reflect Christ in all you do.

Evangelist Elias Perez emphasizes the importance of obedience over sacrifice. Drawing from the biblical example in 1 Samuel 15:22, Elias explains that while God honors our sacrifices, He is more concerned with our obedience to His voice and commands. Sharing personal experiences, Elias illustrates how his choice to obey God's word, even when it meant refusing temptations, has opened doors for ministry and spiritual growth. He passionately encourages listeners to prioritize obedience over mere outward displays of religiosity, as true fruitfulness comes through walking in submission to God. Elias' impactful message underscores the transformative power of an obedient life dedicated to following God's will.

Sermon Notes:
Evangelist Elias Perez encourages viewers to stop running from their past and instead run confidently towards God’s calling. Reflecting on a conversation about two types of people—those running towards something positive and those running from their troubles—he challenges us to be like Paul, who forgot his past and pressed forward to the "prize of the high calling of God in Christ." With passion and purpose, Evangelist Perez reminds us that when we gave our lives to Christ, we volunteered to serve Him. This uplifting message inspires us to embrace God’s plans and pursue His calling with confidence.

Sermon Notes:
Join Evangelist Elias Perez from Lackland, Texas, as he shares an encouraging message from the book of Acts, Chapter 9, about the conversion of Saul to Paul. Drawing from Paul's story, Evangelist Eli explores the concept of "good suffering"—a type of suffering that isn't punishment for past mistakes but rather a calling to endure for the sake of Christ. He reminds us that our trials, whether they be financial hardships, family losses, or personal struggles, are not because of who we are but because of who we represent: Christ. Through examples from his own training and life experiences, he emphasizes that suffering for Christ’s name’s sake builds our strength, draws us closer to God, and allows us to represent Him well. Be encouraged and inspired by this powerful word, knowing that your suffering is not in vain but serves a greater purpose. Stream it and leave your comments on Spotify!

Sermon Notes:
The phrase "hold the line" generally refers to maintaining a position, resisting change, or refusing to back down in the face of pressure or opposition. It typically implies a firm, unwavering stance on an issue or course of action. The metaphor evokes the image of a military force holding its ground against an attacking enemy, refusing to retreat or surrender.
When applied to a single person, the phrase refers to maintaining one’s viewpoint, principles, values, standards, and self-direction, regardless of any difficulties or opposition encountered.
In particular, “hold the line” takes the form of not yielding to pressures of peers or society or “group think” by compromising oneself for expediency or escape.
The root of holding the line is essentially bypassing the need for approval (especially the need for approval of every word and thought) and to stay confident, focused, and decisive no matter what hits you.
It can be difficult, but the reward is the ability to live with yourself based on the knowledge that you stand for something and are not afraid to maintain.
In the East the fields of different owners are not marked by fences, as with us, but the boundaries are indicated by heaps of small stones, or by a ridge, or by posts, or by single stones set upright about a rod apart. It is easy for a dishonest man to remove these landmarks, little by little each year, and thus gradually encroach upon his neighbor. This practice is alluded to in Job 24:2 and is forbidden in Proverbs 22:28 and 23:10 as in our text. A curse was pronounced upon those who removed landmarks (Deut. 27:17 Cursed be he that removeth his neighbor’s landmark. And all the people shall say, Amen). A figurative allusion is made to this crime in Hosea 5:10.
We are in a similar situation in America today. Many leaders promote ideas and establish policies that are contrary to the Lord’s standards. They have rejected God’s truth. They consider themselves wise and enlightened, and they think the principles of scripture are old and outdated. They seek to marginalize Christianity and rob it of its historical and traditional impact on our nation. In other words, they want to remove the ancient landmarks.

Sermon Notes:
The Beginning of the Covenantal Story
The covenantal story began when God created humans in his image to partner with him in spreading goodness throughout the world. The word “covenant” (Heb. berit) isn’t explicitly used in Genesis 1, but the details of the relationship are similar to later covenants in the text.
God invites Adam and Eve to be priestly kings to represent His generous rule on Earth. They could enjoy and reproduce blessings of eternal life as long as they continued to trust and partner with Him. As God lays out the terms of their relationship, He warns them not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil because it would bring the curse of death on humanity.
In their first test of covenant faithfulness, humans failed. They ate from the tree; fracturing the human-divine relationship and plunging humanity into corruption and death. We’d still be stuck in the wreckage if God never intervened. The rest of the Bible is all about how God is repairing this broken partnership with humans.
Key Covenants
There’s no consensus on the exact number of covenants between God and humanity.
Edenic – Man & Woman
Noahic - Rainbow
Abrahamic - Circumcision
Mosaic – Ten Commandments
Davidic – Star of David (coming Messiah)
New – Cross
The Noahic Covenant, found in Genesis 9:8-17, is the promise that God made to Noah and his descendants after the flood which destroyed the world. The Noahic Covenant has several distinguishing features. First, it is an unconditional covenant. Second, it was made to Noah and all his descendants as well as “every living creature” and the earth in general (Genesis 9:8-10). Third, it was sealed with a sign, the rainbow. The Noahic Covenant is an unconditional covenant because it does not depend upon anything Noah or his descendants had to do to fulfill the covenant. The promise is based upon God’s faithfulness alone. Because of God’s faithfulness to always do what He says He will do, we can know today with certainty that there will never be another worldwide flood as there was in the days of Noah. Neither the wickedness nor the righteousness of mankind affects this unconditional covenant. There is no "condition" under which God will renege on His promise. This does not mean that God will never again destroy the earth. He has promised to one day destroy the earth by fire in the terrible events known as the “Day of the Lord.”
2 Peter 3:10
Revelation 20:8-9
After the flood, God promised that He would never again send a worldwide flood to destroy the earth as an act of His divine judgment for sin. As a sign to remind Noah and his descendants of His covenantal promise, God “set the rainbow in the cloud”.
Genesis 9:12-13
Just as circumcision was the sign of the Abrahamic Covenant, the rainbow is the sign of the Noahic Covenant. The lesson to us is that when we see a rainbow we should always be reminded of God’s faithfulness and His amazing grace. We should also be reminded that our God is a holy and righteous God who has a holy hatred for sin and will not allow sin to go unpunished forever. Also, just as God provided a way for Noah and his family to be saved in the ark, He also has provided a way for us to be saved through Jesus Christ. Noah and his family were saved from the wrath of God that came in the flood, just as those who are in Christ are saved from the “wrath to come”.
1 Thessalonians 1:10
Gods 7 Rainbow Colors
7 = God Perfect number
Red - the Blood that Jesus shed for our sins. Hebrews 9:13-14
Orange - passion, especially that of the Fire of God. 2 Thessalonians 1:8
Yellow - the color of the sun, symbolizes God as the Source of all Life. John 1:4
Green - being the color of plants, the symbol of God’s bountiful blessings. Genesis 1:11
Blue - symbolizes God’s domain over all creation, the same way that the blue sky covers all. John 6:33
Indigo - stands for God’s protection. Psalms 147:8
Violet - royalty, violet reminds us of God’s Kingship. It’s one of the colors of His dwelling during the Exodus. Exodus 27:16
Mans Rainbow
6 colors on the gay pride flag
6 = the number man (pride)
June is the sixth month
The most popular version of the flag, with six stripes, first introduced 1979 and is associated with the LGBT community. You may be familiar with the rainbow-striped Pride flag. In recent years, this flag has been updated and expanded to represent the intersectional diversity of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, and Two-Spirit (LGBTQIA2-S) communities.

Joshua 20:1-3
The word refuge in the natural could be defined in in the following manner:
Only in Jesus Christ will you find Protection for your soul as well as the answer you need for the situation your facing. God tells Joshua to finish what He had commanded Moses in Numbers 35. To appoint six cities of refuge to protect the manslayer that had killed someone unintendedly. Such a person would need protection from the avenger of blood. The avenger of blood would take on the responsibility to assure justice would be carried out against the accused. The law stated that justice was an eye for an eye, and tooth for tooth. But if the accused would run to the city of refuge, he would receive mercy, and protection from the avenger of blood.
Proverbs 18:10
Four things that both the Cities of Refuge and our Lord Jesus Christ have in common, so that someone here today would decide to run to “Jesus our Only Refuge”.
Both Are Easily Found
Both are open to all
Both are the only hope for someone in need.
Both provide protection within their boundaries
Both brought full freedom with the death of the High Priest

ARISE - Because of the Times 2024
MICAH 7:8 We are not promised a life without loss, a ministry without messes, a heart that knows no heart break. The promise is not that we won’t get knocked down. It is that we will arise.
This world needs you. It needs your voice, your ministry, your leadership. We invite you to join us at ARISE - Because of the Times 2024, where we pray your soul will be refreshed, your spirit lifted, your feet firmly planted. Together, we shall arise.
Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me.

Sermon Notes:
Identifiers – noun; a person or thing that establishes the identity of someone or something
Examples:
The Challenge of the Identifiers:
Each one of these identifiers were challenged.
The Revelation:
Each one of these stories had to learn the valuable lesson that the strength of the gift was not in the identifier but the giver of identity.
The Church:
The church was called out by Christ “my church” or “my called-out ones.” This identifier “church” that is used so loosely today. We see on every corner that there is a “church”. But in the hour in which we live there is a striping away of the identifier of church. With every type of churches “his church” is having to be reminded from where its identity comes from. The “my church” from Matthew is not the same as we see in general view today. You the “my church” has some important characteristics.
The church of the Bible is built on a sure foundation.
The Rock – the Jesus name doctrine; we are not the same as these non-denominational movements who do not recognize the name of Jesus. The name is what separates us. Baptism in Jesus name is style relevant; calling on the name of Jesus for healing is still where power is from. This is the only church “the gates of hell can’t prevail against”
The Holy Ghost – the church grew because when the Holy Ghost fell it was a sign that changed the religious world. But this church was not silent it was loud and maybe even a little embarrassing. The reason I say this is because when Peter stood up in Acts 2 he had to let them know that they weren’t drunk as they supposed. The true church looks a fool sometimes. We look like we are drunk or out of our mind because we are filled with his spirit and because of the move of the spirit the church grew.
The Fellowship – the church grew as they stood with one another; they fellowshipped, ate and shared the good news. Because of this attribute the world could not get into the church. They always supported, uplifted and encouraged each other.
These three characteristics are under attack. This is why there is such a great falling away from the truth. The religious world has tried to infiltrate the church and have it compromise these principals.
There is a phrase in the Old Testament that stands out to me, “these are the generations or sons…” it is the recording of the lineage of a family. I wonder sometimes as we look out into this crowd can we say, “these are the generations of the… family “.
Our Responsibility
As a church we must stand on the Rock of Ages, the doctrine of the Oneness of God. This revelation must be foundational to who we are.
We must be guided and demonstrate the power of the Holy Ghost.
1 Corinthians 2:4
We must be in fellowship with one another.
1 John 1:7
Join us this 2024 as we launch into making TFAC even better. The soil is rich and we know God is going to pull up so many people to exciting new heights this year. Will you help build the church?January 1, 2024The Fountain Apostolic ChurchBuild Your Church (2024)Learn more at tfachurch.com/plus

Sermon Notes:
What is it? The belief that once saved always saved. That no matter how I live that the grace of God is still with me.
What does it mean? This means that once you repent the first time there is no need to continually repent. Your sin has been forgiven from your date of being saved to the time you die or the rapture.
Scripture used to defend this belief:
Grace means unmerited favor given from God. We could never earn our way into heaven.
How does it refer to me?
The salvation that Christ brought to you was given freely and you can never lose it. Though this sounds good and exciting there has to be a deeper expectation from us to the Lord.
If this was so:
Why be prepared for the rapture?
Why pray without ceasing?
Why be in church on a consistent basis?
This doctrine could not be true. We must look to the Word of God for the truth. First of all, salvation was not given freely, it cost Christ his blood! Secondly, we must consider the commandment given by Paul to the church of Philippi:
Consider this - continue to work out your salvation…
This means to complete it! It is not finished with out our efforts.
So, does works save us?
Works alone do not save us but there must be an action to what we say we believe. So, this lets us know that our salvation needs to be worked out thus meaning salvation is progressive until the day we rapture away or die in the Lord. Jude felt compelled to write his epistle not to the lost or the world but to the body of Christ as a contender of faith. He felt that the church would contend with such false doctrines as this.
Jude wanted to look back into history to see Israel and relate Israel to our life. We understand we are spiritual Israelites, what happened in the natural to Israel is an inference to us in the spiritual. So, to understand we must go back to the Exodus of Israel out of the land of Egypt. Let us reflect on the similarities of our lives and that of the Israelites.
He saw their afflictions:
He saw the need and met that need by sending Moses to the rescue. He gave them a promise of land that they would not need to work hard for. What a promise!
What a people called out of bondage what a great story what and ending! But humanity would take control of these in grateful people. They were never thankful for what they had they always had the “bobble head” syndrome always looking back. Talking against God’s man.
We must understand that these people saw five miracles:
Though seeing all these things they never made into the promise land. When the twelve spies went out ten came back with a bad report. Two young men said its ours for the taking.
Only those who were nineteen years and under made it, Joshua and Caleb lead them into Canaan. We are given these examples in the word of god for our admonition. We have something to look out for.
What was the sin of the Israelites? Simply it was the sin of unbelief. Unbelief causes not to believe that God is in control or that the Lord can make away of escape.
So yes, no one can snatch us out of the masters hand but we can jump out of his hand. We can’t stolen by the enemy we can only give our heart to him.

Paul called himself “chief of sinners” because he, like the tax collector, was acutely aware of his sinfulness and understood how much that sinfulness had cost his Savior. This self-identification is the discovery of every person whose eyes have been opened, whose conscience has been awakened, and whose heart has been pricked by the Holy Spirit. It is the humble posture of every believer who acknowledges he is utterly helpless and dependent on God for salvation
Romans 5:6
It is the admission we all must make: “Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the chief.”

God is our Father
Ephesians 4:4-6
We as Fathers…With His Attributes
Over the years, we have seen the attack on the institution of fatherhood and the strategy to make fathers unloving and ineffective is a primary goal of Satan himself.
We know things
Matthew 6:8
Psalm 27:10
Matthew 27:9-11
When you contemplate the symbolism in Jesus’ examples in Matthew 7:9–11, a deeper meaning, especially for fathers, is evident.

The First points to the Second
I Kings 1 - Points us to the story of King David. David is old and has declared Solomon to be his successor.
David’s other son, Adonijah has his own plans to takeover the throne and kill Solomon and his mother Bathsheba (daughter of the oath).
David hears of the plan and does this:
This entry was the purest of Entry!
The word hosanna comes from a Hebrew word meaning “save now” or “save us, we pray.” The first word of Psalm 118:25 is howosiah-na, translated “Save us!” and the crowd's use of this word at the triumphal entry was significant—especially as they waved palm branches
The palm branch is a symbol of victory, triumph, peace, and eternal life originating in the ancient Near East and Mediterranean world.
This is why He is declared as the “Prince of Peace” - Isaiah
He was declared “the way, the truth and the life” - John14:6
“We have victory through Jesus Christ” - I Corinthians 15:57
Disciples did not understand what was going on...
That’s why we cry this morning Hosanna in the highest (save us, we pray)

Sermon Notes:
Mitosis is a fundamental process for life. During mitosis, a cell duplicates all of its contents, including its chromosomes, and splits to form two identical daughter cells. Because this process is so critical, the steps of mitosis are carefully controlled by certain genes. When mitosis is not regulated correctly, health problems such as cancer can result.
Normally, human cells grow and multiply (through a process called cell division) to form new cells as the body needs them. When cells grow old or become damaged, they die, and new cells take their place. Sometimes this orderly process breaks down, and abnormal or damaged cells grow and multiply when they shouldn't.

Sermon Notes:
Faithfulness comes from a place of trust and loyalty
The first characteristic of a good soldier is the willingness to suffer hardship with the rest of the soldiers. To suffer hardship means to go through a lack of comfort, something hard to bear. A good soldier doesn’t quit because he faces a difficult task or a dangerous situation. He knows his life is expendable and he must be prepared to lay it down when required. Just as the dutiful soldier places his life willingly on the line in the service of his commander, so also will we, as the faithful christians that we are, we must willingly deny ourselves, and take up our cross, and follow the Lord (Luke 9:23).
A good soldier is one who does not simply do minimum duty for his Lord, but rather is one who serves Him with everything he is and has. As a Christian, that’s what we are called to be a good soldier doesn’t have a normal life but is deemed separated from the normality of a 9-5 job or the life of a non- believer. For a soldier of the Lord works and operates 24 hours a day, every day of their lives. His body, his health, his skills, his time all that we are belongs to the Lord.
When we think of what makes up a good soldier of the Lord , we should ask ourselves what makes a good soldier.
The question that we all must ask ourselves in this day and age is, “what kind of soldier am I?”
Am I being a good and faithful soldier by reading my word and studying the good book of life. That I may show myself approved, that when ever I may be called upon to teach, or give a bible study to a new convert in Christ, or to a coworker at the job site, or to a family member or friend that we be ready and be able to minister to them with words from the Bible and not our own ideologies that when we speak of the goodness of the Lord.
The Christian’s greatest desire is to please the Lord, and our fondest hope is to be rewarded for our faithfulness to hear our Master say in (Matthew 25:21).
With that same hope let your life be propelled and driven forward by your love for our Master who art in heaven. And make it your intention to be pleasing to Him as a good and faithful soldier of the Lord.

Sermon Notes:
Zechariah 4:6
Throughout our life we are moved and sometimes accustomed to being a good soldier of Jesus Christ. We SOLDIER THROUGH tragic times, hurts and traumas. We stand at attention in life as we march being strong and live in places of much pain and anguish.
I believe we have suppressed our pain for a long time. You have had a stiff upper lip and carried on while your heart has been breaking into millions of pieces. Yet you find yourself in problems of aggression, anger, depression or confusion.
Suppression has Expression
I submit to you today that we even come into the presence of God as his good soldier and ready for our next assignment because we are strong enough to handle what life has. Today this message is for the soldier of the Lord. You have pushed and fought through many afflictions and trials. To every soldier here or watching today you stand at spiritual attention but the Lord is saying to at ease.
I am not looking for your strength but your weakness.
An amazing message was given to Zerubbabel (a descendent of king David), who having returned from the Babylonian captivity to govern Jerusalem, was the one chosen of God to start rebuilding the Jewish Temple. He was told by Zechariah the prophet that God would carry out the work: "Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit," says the LORD of hosts.
This divine revelation is as relevant today as it was centuries ago, we must all come to an understanding that the Lord Himself will carry out His plans, which He alone has purposed, not by might nor by power, but by the grace of God's Spirit alone.
Not by might refers to not a great army of soldiers
Not by power refers to the strength of men
By my Spirit refers to God alone is the center of our strength
Zerubbabel was not told HOW God was to carry out His plans and purposes for, like us, he only saw through a glass darkly, nevertheless his responsibility, like ours, is to live by faith in God, to trust the Word of the Lord, and to believe all that God has told us.
We know that without faith it is impossible to please the Lord. Even in our weakness we must activate the one element of our life and that is our total faith in God. It’s when we function outside of faith, we fall short.
Romans 14:23
God is working His purpose out as year succeeds to year, but we are not always privy to the plans that God has purposed in the counsel of His own will. However, we are His workmanship. We are the spiritual Temple of God that is being built together by His Holy Spirit. God's work is not carried out by the cleverness of men or the influence of their mighty ministries. We are being built together by the work of the indwelling Spirit of God. We are the Body of Christ. We are the Church of God that is quietly being built into His eternal dwelling place, precious stone by precious stone.

Sermon Notes:
Availability is a must!
With out being available there is no way to be used. People that are used are people that catch the moment. There are people that speak of being available then there are people that are available.
A lot of times are schedules are so full of other things we have no available time to do the things the Lord wants us to do.
Must be aware!
A servant of the Lord is always looking out for the need of others. They are looking to meet a need of someone.
It’s a sad thing that sometimes people get caught up and can’t see the need of their own brethren in the house of the Lord. We want to help everyone else but won’t extend a hand to those who sit next to us in the same pew.
The Bible lets us know that we are to give preference to the house of the Lord first.
Use what God gave you
Some folks think they need all the talent in the world. We stack up excuses, procrastinate, or wait till everything is its perfect order. Or even if its “God’s Will”.
God has given every man a measure of faith or talent. Your best is good enough. All the Lord wants is YOUR best.
We must be dedicated.
What ever the job or task is we must do it to our best ability. There is no task so menial that it deserves our least effort. Whether it’s cleaning the restrooms, alter working, or preaching we are to do it with our whole heart.
Helping people is key the will of God. Sometimes we overlook people in need because it is not what we measure as worth the value of notoriety.
FaithfulnessDiscouragement is not a reason to quit. Many people quit because they are not seeing the results they hoped for or the people they hoped to please aren’t responding. Your commitment is being tested daily. Where will you find yourself? Only the faithful can finish the task the Lord has given to them. Even when it’s so burdensome. Matthew 25:23

Sermon Notes:
Prophetic (Isaiah 9:6)
Fulfillment (John 3:16)
Christians the world over celebrate Christmas in honor of the birth of Jesus Christ in Bethlehem. Various Christmas traditions have been associated with the celebration of Christmas, and different cultures celebrate different ways. The unifying factor is the historical fact that Jesus was born.
Luke 2:10-11
We celebrate Christmas because, as the angel said, the birth of Jesus Christ is “good news.” Good news is meant to be celebrated. In fact, the angel said the news of Jesus’ birth would cause “great joy” and would be “for all the people”—the joyful celebration would be universal. People around the globe would be glad for this occasion.
We celebrate Christmas because, as the angel said, “A Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.” The three titles the angel applies to Jesus are important. Jesus is the Savior who delivers us from sin and death.
Matthew 1:21
He is the human Messiah (or Christ) who fulfills the Law and the Prophets, showing that God is faithful.
Matthew 5:17
And He is the divine Lord who has entered our world: the Almighty has taken on human flesh; God and man have been fused together in an indivisible, eternal bond; God is truly with us.
Matthew 1:23
In celebrating Christmas, we celebrate the Savior, because we needed deliverance. We celebrate the Christ in whom all of God’s promises are “Yes” and “Amen”
2 Corinthians 1:20
We celebrate the Lord who in humility took on “the very nature of a servant” for our sake.
Philippians 2:6–8
We celebrate Christmas with gift-giving because of the “indescribable gift” that God gave to us
2 Corinthians 9:15
Perfect Gift (James 1:17)
In celebrating Christmas, we celebrate the love of God. In Texas in 1987, a toddler by the name of Jessica McClure fell into an eight-inch well casing. Down she went, becoming stuck twenty-two feet below ground. Once people discovered that “Baby Jessica” was in the well, they took immediate action. They didn’t tell her to find a way to climb back up, and they didn’t just shout happy thoughts to encourage her. No, they went down to where she was and got her. They did whatever it took. Rescuers worked nonstop for fifty-eight hours to free her.
In the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve fell. Down they went, dragging all humanity with them into the darkness and death of sin. And what did God do? He did not tell us to find our own way out of the mess we were in, and He did more than shout down happy thoughts to us from heaven. No, He came down to where we were and got us.
Savior (Philippians 2:6-8)
That’s what Christmas is all about—God’s coming down to rescue us, to do whatever it took to deliver us from sure death.
When even one person is in a life-threatening situation, we understand what has to be done. When God looked down at our sinful planet, He saw a whole world of people in mortal danger. We celebrate Christmas because it was at His birth that the Rescuer of all mankind came to save us from the hopeless situation we were in. God did not stay in heaven; He came down to where we are.
