Jesus stood in front of a place called “The Gates of Hell”—a portal to the underworld—to establish the greatest moment in history. In the book, Disciple-Making Disciples, theologian and Pastor, Dr. C. Moody, says it this way, “Jesus chose this backdrop—one composed of idolatry and man-made religion—to affirm His divinity and to bring His disciples to a crisis of decision.”1 Who do YOU say that I am?

Jesus’ death was not a fairy tale, and maybe that’s the problem. We’ve presented the work of Christ as inconsequential, something we can imagine, when in fact, Jesus suffered a gruesome, humiliating, agonizing death for us. Centuries later, we still tell Him that He’s not enough.

Centuries later, we’re still celebrating false gods under the guise of “it’s just a little fun and will do no harm.”

Halloween is not just fun, and it does a lot of harm. When you dabble in a day meant for darkness, you open the door of your soul for Satan to have free reign in your life. You allow the devil to set up a throne in your heart, giving him undeserved majesty.

God has never and will never share His glory with the devil. When you gave your life to Jesus, you finally told God He was enough. Don’t let a day like Halloween cause you to lose perspective.

We all have a diving purpose for the gift of salvation we receive and that’s to finish the work of evangelism here on Earth with the help of the Holy Spirit. As we dedicate our natural abilities to God, He will use them for His Glory and show us how to occupy in the Earth until Christ returns.

As believers in the family of God, we have a spiritual obligation to look out for one another—when we're wrong and when we move righteously. (repeat this)

The Bible explains how the love amongst the brethren not only covers, it confronts. We have to be ready to continue loving each in either situation. We don't join the world in tearing down the church when our idol worship is admonished.

The church carries the light of the gospel. If we put the light out, darkness wins, and our work for the Kingdom of God here on Earth is all in vain.

There will be times when you're forced to disappoint people because you don't have time to fulfill every obligation set before you. Family, life, and the abundance of the call to ministry require balance, and sometimes there aren't enough hours in the day to fulfill it all. To avoid becoming overwhelmed in ministry, you must disappoint people by telling them no. If you give a yes when no is necessary, you end up people-pleasing, and God's anointing is not on that type of behavior.

To bring up our past before God is an attempt to remind Him of something He's already forgotten. It's impossible. Forgive yourself.

Let me be clear, we'll never be worthy or deserving of any blessing God has lined up for us. However, we can receive them with gladness because God placed His benediction upon us. We are blessed without merit, whether the blessing reveals itself miraculously or by the hand of God's chosen vessel.

When we talk ourselves out of our blessing, we block God's favor in our lives.

Giving does not come without sacrifice. When we seek to understand sacrifice, we'll understand how love is supposed to behave.

Sacrifice is devoid of any form of manipulation, yet the reward is beautiful. Sacrifice also doesn't make any demands. It gives the recipient free will to respond.

Resolutions fail because we intend to accomplish them with our strength. In the body of Christ, we know that our convictions mean we are convinced that God is real, and so are His words. In 2 Corinthians 12, Paul talks about his limitations. He explains how he was given a thorn in his side, and when he asked the Lord to remove it, the Lord said no on three occasions. Although Paul is speaking about humility in this passage, Jesus’ response to Paul’s request to remove his limitation is a word we can stand on when it comes to accomplishing our intentions. The Lord responds to Paul by saying, my grace is sufficient for thee. For my strength is made perfect in weakness. When we put our resolutions or our intentions before God, He gives us the power to accomplish what we can’t do in our strength. Therefore, our resolutions won’t fail.

You may be going through a period where you feel like you’re being held captive by the trials and tribulations of this life. You can rest assured that it’s just a season. Find peace in knowing that you can make plans for the future, although your right now looks hopeless. God’s thoughts toward you are good, and His plans are to ensure that you complete your purpose on this side of heaven.

We need each other in ministry. Young leaders in the gospel lean on the older leaders for wisdom, and the wiser leaders need willing vessels to impart purpose so that the gospel of salvation flows from generation to generation, reaching souls for the Kingdom of God.

The next time you see your brother or sister watching your shoes, lift their head and remind them of who they are in the kingdom of God.

Being in worship with God is the only way to experience true pleasure in this life. It's an experience where you trust God enough to participate in an exchange with Him where He expresses His sacrificial love for you in ways beyond your understanding. He becomes your Emmanuel—the God who sacrificed a part of Himself to be a part of your life.

All your needs are met in worship.

When we forgo physically assembling ourselves with other believers for moments of corporate praise and teaching, I believe we miss out on having meaningful experiences with God, because whenever the body of Christ comes together and we praise in unison, God reveals another layer of Himself to give us an experience, somewhat like experiencing heaven on Earth, that draws us closer to Him, entices us to pursue a deeper, more intimate relationship with Him.

Our children are the living messages we send to a time we may or may not see. I’m the living message my mother sent to the generation I’m called to and my children are the living message I’m teaching and sending to the generation they’re called to.

God doesn’t want us to just exist in this life. He wants us to live exceptional lives. God owns everything and when we commit to serving Him, He gives us access to everything—ALL. That means we can stand on one side of the hill of our blessing and not see the other side because that’s how much God wants to bless us.

That blessing is more than material things. It’s wholeness. I don’t have to have faith and live like a pauper, I can be in good health and live in a great home as well. I can be mentally and financially stable. My faith can feed a hungry person, and the abundance God places in my life can feed and clothe a village.

I’m a King’s kid, and I can live just like I praise, GOOD!

Don’t wait until you get to heaven to enjoy everything that God has for you on Earth.

Prayer is not a place where you give up. It’s a place of surrender, where you can focus on hearing God’s voice.

When the Lord finally gets you to a place where you can hear him clearly, the drama from your trials and tribulations can’t keep you from hearing His voice. You’ll know He’s not in the winds of worry, in the pounding of the pressures of life, or in fiery trials. His still small voice is in the middle of everything we go through calling our name so that He can settle our spirits and reassure us everything is taken care of.

When you’re in the place designated by God Himself, steady yourself and listen for His still small voice.

Stop trying to convince people who believe they know everything about you that there’s something purposeful on the inside of you. 9 times out of 10, the people who think they know everything about you, don't! They have absolutely no clue of the grand purpose bubbling and about to burst on the inside of you.

There are more than 7 billion people on the earth and I guarantee you millions have not yet been affected by the gift and purpose inside of you. Stretch your vision beyond your friends and family and target the billions. You’re called to greater.

Your purpose in the Kingdom of God is bigger than you just going to heaven. God wants us to bring others with us. Wherever you go, tell someone about the saving power of Jesus Christ. If they don’t receive Him immediately, at least you’ve planted the seed. Keep believing and keep working for the Kingdom. Thank you for listening.

When you finally let go of everything that’s keeping you from God’s design for your life, you’ll find yourself in a place of pleasure—a place where, like Isaiah, you can see the beauty of God. And in that beauty, you’ll find your purpose, your place—a place of servitude, where you can say, “Lord, wash me. After you’ve cleaned me, use me.”
