She is the Founder of Core and Floor Restore.Bernadette is a midwife, personal trainer, wife, mother and published author. She has two little boys, having only given birth to her most recent - Aloysius 5 weeks ago.Since 2007 she has worked as a midwife across Australia and overseas in a variety of settings from remote Aboriginal communities to large city hospitals to homebirth.Bernadette has experienced incontinence since she was 19-years-old. In 2016, as part of her preconception care, she finally went and consulted with a women’s health physio.She was told to do her kegels, stop running and wait four months before conceiving. She did her kegels and stopped running. She kept leaking. Four months later she became pregnant.We chat about:* Pelvic floor exercises in pregnancy - Did you know by doing them regularly you can decrease your chance of tearing and decrease pushing time? * What you can do in pregnancy to help your pelvic floor * Diastasis recti - what is it?
