Questions with a mentor:
- What is your greatest strength that helps you lead as a mentor for someone else?
- If you had to pick one, which of these is your greatest concern about leading someone as a mentor: Ability, lack of interest, or time? Explain why.
- Assuming you have a ‘Timothy’ right now that you’re leading:
- Which step are they at when it comes to The Total Ministry Makeover?
- What’s one practical way that you can take them to the next step?
- DEEP (Delegate, Equip, Encourage, Protect): Do you have a similar model for helping people step up into new roles? Is there something coming up that you can go DEEP with them on?
- If you don’t have a ‘Timothy’ at the moment:
- Pray for the Lord to open that door for you and for them.
Final note: My encouragement to you is to continually pray for wisdom in all of this! Regardless of how many people you are a ‘Paul’ to… never stop being a ‘Timothy’!
You've passed through so many obstacles together. Not that you've gone back to your purpose as leaders and as a church, now that you've thrown off everything that hinders; it's time to go FULL THROTTLE! That's what this step is all about, it's my favorite step and I can promise it'll be yours too after understanding this step.

- Is your church ready to Transition to Purpose-Powered Ministries? What do each of these look like in your church’s context; do they:
- Do they see the road clearly? (knowing their purpose and where they are/where they’re going)
- Are they a ‘well-oiled machine’? (walking in unity specifically within individual teams)
- Are there ANY stumbling blocks that are in the way?
- If your church is ready for this step, what do you as leaders need to do to help them take their ministry to the next level?

Questions with a mentor: - Before beginning this assessment, are there any ‘specks’ or ‘planks’ that might skewer your view of the church? Any animosity towards a certain individual(s)? If so, before proceeding please state it openly before this assessment with the mentor. If you’re unable or unwilling to do that, take some time to reflect before beginning this. - Some fun with the ‘little white church’: Is there a situation of a goofy and inexplicable tradition that you’ve witnessed to be blindly defended by a church member? What was it and how was it addressed? - PAIN: Out of all the sin issues in this world, what brings your church the most pain? - PASSION: What are the greatest desires and passions that God has given your church? Are there common patterns of skillsets, strengths in certain ways they serve, etc? - PERCEPTION: Look at the big picture. How does their PAIN and PASSION intersect? - Back to the pain: is there something (or many things) in the church that they are willing to defend that’s actually working against the cause of Christ? o If so, what steps do you believe should be taken next? - Take a look at both your POWER and the church’s POWER. Are there areas of weakness that they could actually help you with more, and vice versa? - If possible, follow up & have a discussion a week/month from now about your church’s POWER.

- What is one thing you can do this week to focus more on the POWER (purpose, plans, etc) God has given you? What is one thing you could ask someone to help you with to allow for more time with your POWER?
- If possible, follow up and have a discussion a week/month from now about your POWER.
