Kelly's Deli: Recent Episodes

Kelly Powers

Welcome to Kelly's Deli. The deli is a special place to me. It is always a warm welcoming place full of different faces, tastes and cultures. For myself, it is a home away from home. Here, I will be sharing bite-sized episodes on the life of trying to create something out of nothing. Recognising the world is oh so big, yet tiny at the same time. Is it better to stand out or blend in?

  • Tune in regularly for early morning breakfasts & tea , afternoon pastrami rolls, and late evening apple pie.

In this two-part episode of Pursuit of Passion, I have an incredible conversation with Theo de Vaux.

Theo and I discuss his early introduction to lasers and the music industry with his mum being a pioneer in the market. This also leads to a bit of a hectic upbringing being one of seven children in the household.

By the age of eight Theo receives a full scholarship to boarding school and is off to his own adventures into the world. As his parents are always away, when Theo isn't in boarding school he couch surfed in friends houses or throw massive house parties in his empty house in Shrewsbury, England.

From a hate for dancing in front of others yet wanting to be apart of the scene, Theo began to DJ and created a make-shift DJ set.

At the age of 16 Theo received his first gig DJ-ing for his local town in front of 1000 people.

By seventeen Theo is a full blown alcoholic and drops out of school.

Moving back to Slovakia Theo is forced to go to school yet refers to the pub instead until he gets put on a music blog and asked to come assist at a music festival. With a few strings pulled this lands him with a crew doing visuals at a festival in Slovakia. From one show doing visuals for 9 hours Theo's hooked and stays on the road touring shows with a new team. This continues until Theo decides the best idea is to return to England to finish school.

This was Theo's worst idea yet.

Stay tuned for Part two coming out later this week for the rest of an absolutely incredible story.
