What do you do when a podcast guest doesn't show up?

In this solo episode of Happy Hour with HatchMan, Braden found himself facing exactly that situation. After a guest he connected with through Threads failed to join the recording session, he decided to turn an unexpected setback into an opportunity for a different kind of conversation.

Rather than canceling the episode, Braden asked himself a simple question:

If I could interview anyone in the world, who would it be?

The answer was Greg Harden.

Greg Harden was a renowned peak performance coach, counselor at the University of Michigan, motivational speaker, and executive consultant who spent decades helping some of the world's highest achievers unlock their potential. His influence can be seen in the lives of individuals such as Tom Brady, Michael Phelps, Desmond Howard, Jim Harbaugh, Olympic athletes, business leaders, and countless others. Although Greg is no longer with us, his teachings continue to impact people through his book, Stay Sane in an Insane World.

In this episode, Braden shares why Greg Harden is someone he would have loved to interview and discusses one of his favorite sections from the book: Seven Things to Remember. Each lesson serves as a framework for improving self-awareness, building resilience, overcoming fear, and developing a healthier relationship with yourself.

Along the way, Braden offers his own perspective on how these principles apply to entrepreneurship, parenting, personal growth, business, and everyday life.

Topics Covered The story behind a guest no-show and how it inspired this episode * Why Greg Harden became someone Braden wishes he could have interviewed * Greg Harden's impact on elite athletes, coaches, and leaders * Lessons from Stay Sane in an Insane World* * The importance of self-awareness and understanding yourself * Controlling what you can control in difficult situations * Building habits around consistent effort and personal excellence * The Commit, Improve, Maintain framework * Managing fear, self-doubt, and uncertainty * The role of courage in personal growth * Self-love and self-acceptance as foundations for success * Developing a healthy internal dialogue * Becoming your own best friend and strongest supporter * Applying high-performance principles to everyday life

The Seven Things to Remember1. Become the world's greatest expert on yourself. 2. Control the controllables. 3. Practice, train, and rehearse giving 100%. 4. Commit. Improve. Maintain. 5. Stop being afraid of being afraid. 6. Practice self-love and self-acceptance. 7. Become the very best friend you've ever had.

In this episode of Happy Hour with HatchMan, Braden Hatch sits down with Len Noe, an ethical augmented hacker, cybersecurity professional, and speaker who is living with 11 sub-dermal microchips implanted in his body.

These implants are not experimental lab projects. They are real, they are available, and people are already using them.

We break down:

What implanted microchips in the human body actually do

How RFID and NFC implants work in everyday life

What “transhuman” really means

Neuralink vs. Synchron and where brain-computer interfaces stand today

DNA editing and the possibility of eliminating disease

Ethical concerns around body modification

Privacy risks and cybersecurity implications

Legal gray areas created by implanted tech

Government involvement and regulation

Deepfakes, dopamine, and digital identity

Len also shares the moment he turned his life around, the pushback he has faced, and why technological change almost always meets resistance.

This conversation is not about shock value. It is about understanding what is already here and thinking critically about where it is going.

🎙 Reverse Mortgages Explained: How They Work, Who Qualifies & When They Make Sense | Featuring Nina PennyIn this episode of Happy Hour with HatchMan, Braden Hatch sits down with reverse mortgage specialist Nina Penny to break down everything you need to know about reverse mortgages.

Reverse mortgages are one of the most misunderstood loan products in the housing industry. Many retirees, homeowners, and even real estate professionals don’t fully understand how a reverse mortgage works, who qualifies, or when it actually makes sense.

This episode clears that up.

What You’ll Learn:• What a reverse mortgage is and how it works
• The difference between a traditional mortgage and a reverse mortgage
• What a HECM (Home Equity Conversion Mortgage) loan is
• Who qualifies for a reverse mortgage
• Age and equity requirements
• Reverse mortgage pros and cons
• How retirees use home equity to eliminate debt
• Reverse mortgage options for fixed-income homeowners
• Using a reverse mortgage for long-term care planning
• How reverse mortgages can help avoid selling the home
• Common myths and misconceptions
• When a reverse mortgage does NOT make sense

Who Is a Reverse Mortgage For?Reverse mortgages are typically designed for homeowners age 62 and older who have significant equity in their home. For the right client, this strategy can provide:

Supplemental retirement income

Debt elimination

Cash flow improvement

Long-term care funding solutions

Financial flexibility without monthly mortgage payments

But it’s not for everyone — and we discuss why.

Why This MattersWith rising costs, inflation, and retirees living longer than ever, understanding how to responsibly use home equity in retirement is becoming more important. A reverse mortgage can be a powerful financial planning tool when structured correctly.

If you are a homeowner, have aging parents, are approaching retirement, or work in real estate or financial planning, this episode will give you clarity on whether a reverse mortgage is worth exploring.
