There’s a lot of self-help books, courses, and memes out there that tell you to be confident. There’s also a lot of information out there about being courageous too. But…bravery, that’s where we often waiver between courage and confidence. Which means we end up getting stuck.
So, in this episode, I’m sharing a few things that are plaguing you from actually being brave as well as some things you can do to push through and do all that God has called you to do.
Here are the highlights:
Definitions:
COURAGE : the ability to do something that frightens one.
BRAVE: endure or face (unpleasant conditions or behavior) without showing fear; showing courage

We’ve all heard the dreaded words, “We can’t do ____ because it’s our policy,” right?? How’d it make you feel? Frustrated. Annoyed.
Despite the fact that we don’t like hearing it, there’s probably a good chance you’ve used that on your customers once or twice too. And I guarantee they feel the same way.
In this week’s episode, I’m sharing some tips on how you can reword this phrase so you can protect both your customers and your business with limited frustrations on all parties.
What would happen if your business’s Facebook or Instagram page was shut down today?
Would your customers know how to reach you?
Would you have a plan in place to still connect with your customers?

We’ve all experienced those random friend requests from people we know we’re already friends with. And we also may have gotten a sketchy DM from a friend promoting bitcoin. Both of these are an example of both imposter accounts and a hacker.
In this episode of the podcast, I’m sharing some helpful sight into how to know the difference between the two and most importantly - how to prevent and handle them.

Business conferences and conventions are a great opportunity to connect with other business owners, get encouragement and help you take your business to the next level. But, oftentimes business owners try to talk themselves out of going. Whether it comes down to budgets or time, I’m sharing some practical insight into the importance of saying YES to the business conference…despite your budgets, times and even personal apprehensions, like being an introvert.
I’m not only giving you a couple of benefits you’ll get from going to a conference, but I’m also sharing tips on how to prepare your business, so you can unplug and get what you need out of it.
Charging for your business can be hard. Especially if we started our business as a hobby. In this episode, I’m unpacking a few mindsets that may be keeping you stuck with charging or even increasing your pricing.
From the practical hangups to the psychological hangups, it’s hard for business owners to get the confidence to make money. Just like you, I had to overcome these similar challenges and mindsets. So, this week I’m sharing how I faced these challenges and not only started charging, but have a plan for when to increase prices too.
It’s easy for us to use the word small when it comes to describing our business. Sure, we’re lumped in the general category of “small business,” but there is nothing small about your business.
In fact, you and your business make a BIG impact in not only your personal life, but the lives around you.
In this episode, I'm sharing how you can remove the words like "small" or "little" from your vocabulary and discover the impacts that your business is actually making.
And don’t forget to send me a DM on Instagram after you listen to the podcast and tell me how you’re changing the words you use in describing your business.
One of the best (and scrappiest) ways to get customers is by word of mouth marketing. Nothing can positively impact your business more than having happy customers tell they friends about you.
Think about it. How many times have you gone to a restaurant that a friend recommended? Or think about the time you visited a new boutique or store because a co-worker was wearing a cute outfit one day.
In this week’s episode, you’ll learn about the importance of getting reviews, how to ask your customers for reviews, and even how to handle negative reviews.
And once you’ve listened to the episode, take some time this week to reach out to some customers for reviews on your page too! I promise that once a positive review hits your notifications, it’ll make your day!
Social media is always changing and that means the algorithms are always changing too.
The very best way to show up on social media is not to beat the algorithm, BUT to help your customers by putting valuable information in the right spots on social media.

We’ve all faced closed doors at some point in my life. Sometimes breakthroughs are on the other side, so it’s important to push through and force the door open. While other times, those doors are meant to be closed.
In this week’s podcast, I’m sharing a recent situation where I just couldn’t force that stinkin’ door open and walking away was the best decision. It was hard…really hard.
But, in the midst of the thoughts of failure, I knew that was just not the door God had for me. All the “signs” of a dead end were 100% clear.
When we are forced to walk away instead of through these doors, it can come with many different emotions and thoughts. From failure and embarrassment to peace and redirection, it’s really okay to walk away from something.
This episode is going to give you the permission you need to walk away, pivot and really step into the destiny that God has for you.

We live in a culture that promotes the “hustle” culture. Business owners are told that if they’re not successful, they’re not hustling enough. And that, my friend, is a lie! Not only does success look different to everyone, but the hustle mindset is not sustainable. Sure, we all will end up in seasons where we have to hustle, but I want to challenge this mindset in today’s podcast.
What if we simplified things, processes and mindsets? What if we focused on the current season of our life and made the determination to ditch the hustle and focus on what WE feel we should do...not what others dictate for us?
In this episode, I’m sharing some areas I simplified and how it’s helped me grow both personally and in business.
And if you’re tired of the hustle and pressure to do all the things in your marketing, then my simplified marketing coaching program is exactly what you need. Learn more about it here: https://www.startpointmediagroup.com/diywaitlist
Believe it or not, the words you use can impact the success of your life and your business. In this episode, I’m sharing two areas you need to change your words:

The holidays are fast approaching us and online shopping continues to explode. That means your business needs to be on their A-Game this year. In this episode, I’m sharing the #1 reason people decide not to finalize their purchases online: shipping charges.
How many times have you been shopping online, have added a couple items to your cart and when you saw the $7.99 shipping charge, you immediately questioned whether or not you really want the product? Or what about that alert in the cart that says: “Add $4.95 to your cart and get free shipping.” Do you find yourself going back to the menu to see what you can find to get you over that $4.95 threshold?
We all do it, and unfortunately that means your customers are doing it too...on your website. Yikes! If you’re not offering some sort of free shipping, you could be losing customers. In this podcast, I’m sharing some tips on how to handle the shipping situation AND still make a profit.

Do you need to sacrifice sleep (and health) in order to grow a business? That’s a question that I recently heard in a group of small business owners and I totally stopped in my tracks. Sometimes the entrepreneurial journey is a long, tiring and lonely road. Not to mention the world has convinced small business owners that in order to succeed we have to hustle and run on caffeine and a prayer to keep going. BUT, that’s not what you should do, friend! That’ll lead you straight into burnout.

When was the last time you were pushed outside your comfort zone in your business? If you’re like most people, you’d prefer to stay safe and sound in your comfort zone.
It’s easy for us as business owners to want to play it safe and stick with what we know. But if we don’t step out and try new things we’ll be like Blockbuster...out of business. (Where are all my 80s & 90s people at?)
One of the things I see SO many business owners refuse to do is live video. It’s COMPLETELY outside their comfort zone.

Too technical.

Sound familiar?
In this show, Holly talks about stepping outside your comfort zone and shifting your mindset on how to face your fears and start going live video.
She also offers some reasonably priced equipment that’ll help you look your best on live too.

I’ll do it when I have time
Hiring out for marketing help is probably really expensive.
If I did have a budget I don’t even know where to begin hiring help.
In this show, Holly shares that while you CAN totally do your own marketing the scrappy way, there are some things that are better left to the professionals.
