Social Justice War Room: Recent Episodes

Neil Kapit

An interview show featuring a wide and brilliant array of progressive content creators, hosted by We Are The Wirecats comic creator, autism awareness advocate, and old millenial leftist, Neil Kapit. The Social Justice War Room promotes social justice in fiction, reality, and everything in between. If you have something you're working on that promotes a better vision for the future, however small it may seem, you too can be invited on for an interview.

I come out of quasi-retirement (ironically because I'm working full-time IRL) for a new conversation with returning champion The Radical Writer, as we talk about the oft-lionized Image Comics founders, and how they blazed a trail for comic creators' rights.....at least for a small few. Employee exploitation, market crashes, and belts, belts, belts galore.

Check out more of the Radical Writer's work at: The Left Spectrum: Art and Autism From a Different POV: Making #ComicsForAll Means Supporting Unionized Workers (radicalautism.blogspot.com)

And for more of me, check out my various haunts online; Wirecats Presents | Linktree

If you have something to promote and are on the progressive side, DM me and I'd be happy to make time for an interview.

In the final episode of the Social Justice War Room (for now), I interview C F Arik Grant on his webcomic Bohica Blues, his time serving in Iraq, the lighter side of the war (such as it is), and Russia's current military quagmire in Ukraine. You can check out his comic here;

Working full time again means no more time for podcasting, but this isn't an ending but a hiatus...who knows what the future will hold?

Today I am proud to talk to critic, essayist, teacher, and musician Travis Hedge Coke on their writings about comics, cosmogeny, and the landmark run of Grant Morrison as writer of the X-Men. Learn about why the universe won't let Grumpy Smurf be anything more than Grumpy, how 9/11 changed comics along with everything else, the dark age when Wolverine wasn't hot, and more about the pound-for-pound best era in the comic's nearly 60 year history.

In this episode I am proud to interview Mo Black of Critical Weeb Theory, one of the greatest and most needed voices in the den of largely reactionary consoomers we call Western anime fandom, as we talk about how Crunchyroll's High Guardian Spice is good actually.
