HOWARD KENDALL was a fabulous footballer - reckoned by many within the game to be the best player never to win an England cap - but it was as Everton manager that he enjoyed his finest moments. He is, quite simply, the greatest and most successful manager that the Club has ever had.
Disappointing today, Everton were all over Brentford but the sending off changed everything and toned down an amazing atmosphere early on. Let’s go again on Thursday from the first whistle and secure our proud history in the top flight.
Wow! Take a bow everyone who went to that game today, you were immense! We must have the best supporters in the world. Fantastic performance and a great win… 3pts on the road.
A magnificent performance by everyone connected with the club! The players, fans and the dog. Everton defeat Chelsea to put pressure on Leeds and Burnley and keep our hopes of staying up alive.
Chelsea are looking forward to a trip to Goodison Park to play Everton and visit Chelsea legend, Frank Lampard. Can Everton win and take all 3pts. Listen in to hear a wonderful anecdote about Carlo Ancelotti! A reset button is required at Goodison for massive change, I can only see this as a positive for the better of the club. We need a big overhaul, with new ideas, innovation, proactivity and above all a plan which the current board are incapable of delivering. Hopefully you’ll enjoy this different style to the latest podcast and make sure to listen in to the next one.
You’ve got to take the positives from the derby, we played well, the players kept going until the very end and we must take that spirit forward to the remaining games.
Everton played well, the players kept going until the very end and we must take that spirit forward. I’ve seen enough in the past few weeks to be confident we can stay up.
Everton need to get every piece of energy and concentration right now to invest in collecting the points we need to stay up. We need to fight like we’ve never fought before.
Dave Walton gives his honest opinion on the problems at Everton. With the club hovering above the relegation zone, in the midst of a dire run of form, and genuinely lacking in creativity and leadership, Dave gives you a run down on all the problems.
Frank Lampard hailed the "fight, spirit and desire" that his Everton side displayed to grind out a crucial 1-0 victory over Manchester United.
Can’t fault anyone today - midfield 3 were immense, Godfrey had his best game for a year, Richarlison and Gordon must have extra lungs up and down those wings, even Gray getting blocks in. Special mention for Mykolenko, not technically the best but has a massive heart and gave everything today. We had leaders on the pitch with Delph and Allan and it showed. Pickford just gets better, we are lucky to have him. Iwobi is a revelation as a No.8 where his athleticism is best utilised. We play better with a 3 man midfield when we have two experienced holding players. This may be the way to go to arrest our away form. Of course we haven't put two performances back to back but with Mina and Van de Beek available next game, who do we drop? Is 34 points enough? It's the hope that kills!
Frank has got to do must better. I genuinely think if we get beat against United he will get the sack. I think the board know we can't afford relegation and we would have eight games to roll the dice again. Not saying that's correct but I can see it happening.
Mark Watkinson talks to Frank Lampard on were we go from here. Sorry but Iwobi mistake is inexcusable. How a professional premier league footballer can miscrontrol the ball like that is beyond me.
Everton are under huge pressure before travelling to the London Stadium. We are three points above the relegation zone and Frank Lampard ripped into the players after our side’s 4-0 defeat to Crystal Palace in the FA Cup last month. A big response is required, we need to put some points on the board asap.
Joseph Parkinson is an English football coach and former professional footballer. As a player, Parkinson played in the Premier League for Everton, while with the club he won the FA Cup in 1995. Born: 11 June 1971 (age 50 years), Eccles Manchester.
Back to reality. Disgraceful performance. Started well, but it all fell apart, as usual. Just disgusting. This squad is so bad. How can you improve these players? The defence is so poor and the Midfield is non existent. No manager would get a tune out of these players.
We played with passion, grit, determination and togetherness. Proud to be an Evertonian! The noise inside Goodison was incredible. Just a normal night at goodison. A sending off, a fan tying his neck to the post, someone from the crowd giving the steward a knife to help get him off, someone from the crowd running on to do him in and Everton scoring a winner in 14 minutes of injury time. Richy shot out the dugout and sprinted the width of the pitch to celebrate with the lads....... Let's hope they want more coz we certainly do.
We are encouraging all supporters to get in the ground 20 mins or so before kick off. The atmopshere needs to be another level, another cup final game for us. The performances aren't what we expect, but we need to still be at our very best in the stands, come on you blue boys!!
Our last 19 PL games LLLDLLLWLDLLLLWLLLL 2 wins 2 draws 15 losses. 8 points.
The manner of the last 2 defeats is the most worrying, lack of belief, application & fight. The minute you see Kenny and Coleman on that team sheet you knew we where beaten. Shit tactics & shit players, a weekend of depression yet again. The fans are almost broken!
These are myself Mark Watkinson pre-match comments and my starting eleven. Everton welcome Wolves to Goodison Park so let’s hope we win and get 3pts. #COYB #UTFT
Massive shout-out to “DIGITAL REBEL PODCAST” What a fantastic listen, I look forward each week to a new episode, the Podcast is probably my favourite at the minute.
Tottenham v Everton Don’t get me started on Keane, this season he’s been as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike, he was absolutely pathetic last night. Why is DCL on this pitch complete waste of space? Coleman what the fuck is he doing, Him and Holgate are both a liability waiting to happen. There was only one player in that team who wanted to know and that was Gordon, what a quality player that kids is. Only Everton would sign two full-backs in January & then continue to persist with the ones that weren’t originally deemed good enough. Recruitment drive needs a total revamp. We need a big win on Sunday against Wolves now.
'Everton's back four is Championship level' [Carragher]
Mark Watkinson & Eamonn Houghton are back to discuss Eamonn’s poor experience at Goodison Park and that’s before we discuss the Boreham Wood game. We also preview the Monday night game against Tottenham. If any of our listeners have any questions please get in touch via the e-mail address: theevertonway@post.com
Mark Watkinson talking to Paul Barber who is a life long Tottenham Hotspur fan and a season ticket holder, also we get his prediction for Monday night game. Come on you blues!!!
VAR is a joke and so was the officials, really solid performance that deserved a point. Every Everton player did their job, our work rate was unbelievable. Pickford and Richarlison were outstanding at opposite ends of the pitch.
Massive game today, it will takes huge effort and fight from every player and everyone inside of Goodison plus a bit of luck. #COYB
Debate with the boys, can Lampard Save Everton From Relegation? It’s going to be tough but hopefully we can turn things round.
Another abysmal shambolic performance without a shot on target. These players haven’t changed useless away great at home, this club is becoming unmanageable.
Everton ran riot against Leeds from the first whistle to the last in a 3 - 0 victory with goals coming from Coleman, Keane and Gordon. The atmosphere @ Goodison was amazing, best I’ve seen for a long time.
I love the night before the fight! The battle lines have been drawn & we Everton supporters have to raise our voices, raise the banners, and raise the roof off the Old Lady tomorrow! Every opponent a nemesis, every home match a cup final!
It seems like a lifetime ago since we last won a game, we’ll the handbrake is off and we have cruised into the 5th round of the FA Cup with a 4-1 win at home to Brentford. Eamonn Houghton gives his instant reaction to the victory that hopefully kick starts our season. If you ever need to know how far your positive energy will go listen to ASTRO. It may not be Flashdance, but WHAT A FEELING! Hot Damn! #Everton in the Cup! Learn to love it, cause it’s the best thing going! UTFT Baby! @BlueAce1878 Hope to get Astro on the Podcast soon on a Q&A, love to find out his Everton cultural experiences.
This is essential Everton podcast unrivalled and unique. Special shout out to Eamonn Houghton who really should be on national radio. Mark & Eamonn
Reminiscence of happy times watching the blues. Everton have a massive part to play in your life.
With Everton finally announcing Frank Lampard as manage, Mark & Eamonn discuss his managerial credentials and how he might set out his team.
