Angelica was born in Santa Cruz Bolivia, she came here when she was 5 years old and grew up in a household with 6 kids. Being the oldest, she had an entrepreneur state of mind for as long as she can remember and started working when she was 15. Her mom was a stay-at-home mom that dedicated herself to the upbringing of her household and her dad worked long hours to provide financially for the whole family. Her dad always instilled in her that she had to do things her own way and figure it out no matter how hard. He had a very strict mindset regarding punctuality and work ethic, there was no in-between, if you were on time you were late. Angelica complained through her teen years about this work and school ethic because she did not understand that in the end, it would end up molding her and creating the person she is today. Angelica started her business in 2013 after many years of working in the corporate world, in the HR and administration field, and preparing tax returns on the side for extra income.
Angelica says she has slowly grown both in her personal and professional life. She balanced being a full-time mom and also having a full-time job and running a business at the same time. Her family is extremely important to her and finding a balance between work and family became her priority.
Through this, she also built her relationship with colleagues. She discovered that tax law also goes hand in hand at times with legal avenues with attorneys. This avenue, a close friend, an attorney partner, and herself discovered was a market not many ventured in. She works closely with him in the paralegal aspect and he works with helping her clients in the legal field. Together they make sure clients are educated on how filing correctly correlates with Immigration, child support, family law, and so many other legal sides.
Angelica has gone through so many years of experience and has endless stories and advice to share that she could keep going on for pages and pages. She specializes in servicing her community and educating anyone that wants to grow and build in the best and legal way.

In 2001, Tasha M. Troy surprised friends and family by moving to the other side of the world. The 8 years she spent in S. Korea put her in the trenches of cross-cultural communication in a way her previous Spanish studies and travels to Mexico and Spain had not. Tasha's work teaching academic and professional English communication skills put her in touch with culturally diverse teaching teams in addition to the close contact with her students. The friendships she developed and the students she worked with gave her insights into the value of diversity of culture, personality, and thought.
Since her return to the US, she has continued her intercultural work by providing professional development training for a DODsponsored program at Georgetown University and cross-cultural communication training for non-profits and entrepreneurs in northern Virginia and Washington, DC.
In 2014, she joined John Maxwell’s team of leadership trainers, and in 2019, in order to serve her clients better, she became a certified DISC consultant. Her key values are abundance, making a difference, excellence, diversity, authenticity, and a positive attitude. These values inform her decisions and how she interacts with students, clients, friends, and family. When she needs to clear her head, she heads to the mountains and pretends to be traveling with Frodo through the forests of Middle Earth.

When Mark Forster, Jr. was six or seven years old, he picked up a camera for the first time and instantly was obsessed with making videos. Practically every day of his childhood was making short films with his friends. By the time he was starting high school, he had developed a good set of video skills and started being asked to create promo videos. Mark realized that there was a booming demand for business videos, especially as selling online was becoming extremely popular. In the spring of his junior year of high school, in 2019, he started Hesdex; a video production company built from the ground up for modern day marketers. One of its foundational missions was providing video services accessible to businesses of any size. Hesdex quickly grew and was a go-to for brands looking for affordable professional video ads that kept up with social media marketing trends. With the company growing so quickly, Mark made the unorthodox decision to not go to college and work on the business full time. Now Hesdex has worked with hundreds of brands, both locally and internationally, including Cobec, Govee, Avia Games, Fuller Brush, KBO Bike, and SideTrak. The company continues to build services that make it possible for businesses to reach customers through video regardless of their marketing budget. The latest and currently most popular service, Hesdex Selfies, uses innovative technology to allow brands to order social media video ads for just $40-$60. Mark is excited to see how Hesdex will evolve as the world of video, advertising, and content changes over time.

BRYAN T. SAVAGE – Originally from, Tarrytown, NY, Bryan is a graduate of Union College, in Schenectady, NY. He earned a BA in Sociology and played football, for the Nationally Ranked Dutchmen, having participated in the 1989 Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl (Division III National Championship Game) and was selected as the team’s co-captain during his senior year.
An accomplished professional with demonstrated skills in organizational leadership, business planning, relationship management, participatory training, team building, and sales. These skills have been honed over a professional career that spans over 25 years and several industries. But it was never easy. The most difficult challenges for him have been self-esteem and overcoming self-doubt. In his mid-20’s, Bryan took the leap to become an entrepreneur. He was young and didn’t know any better. And at first, things were good. But then, as business took a dip, as nearly all do, he panicked, and the businesses failed. Losing everything he was forced to file for bankruptcy. His self-esteem took a beating, and he questioned and even doubted his calling.
He lost belief in himself, though his confidence and the will to work tirelessly never wavered. He just didn’t think or believe he could accomplish what was necessary to shape and sustain his dad’s legacy as he had envisioned. Overcoming self-loathing thoughts, facing those fears, and realizing that his “why” and the calling on his life, to serve others was far greater than any fear or doubt that attempted to derail him. Knowing, trusting, and believing that walking in his calling was not about himself, but in his gifts, he was blessed with and the calling God has on his life.
In addition to technical expertise, Bryan’s work ethic, emotional intelligence, and commitment to excellence are what has separated him from the pack. He has held a number of roles that helped to sharpen his interpersonal acumen and sales skills, including as retail branch manager for two Fortune 500 Companies. He launched Savage Family Office, LLC, a Licensed Independent Broker, Small Business Consultant Firm to transform the lives of individuals, families, and small business owners nationwide, by providing high-quality products and services that promote peace of mind and confidence. A Servant leader, visionary and experienced trainer, he’s on a mission to inspire and galvanize the ambitions of others, encourage entrepreneurship and investment opportunities, educate and provide resources to small business owners and their families, and achieve results that add the best value that builds happy wealthy communities.
A man of faith, Bryan’s motto is: I’ve been blessed to be a blessing to others. His witty personality, passion to serve and transparency about his life’s wins and losses affords him the ability to connect with others easily. He is married, has three children & currently lives in Maryland. Bryan enjoys bicycle riding, working out, or doing absolutely nothing. He is an active member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and a die-hard Steelers fan.

As Owner of Phoenix Strength, Nicole is an example of her own perfect client. Middle-aged, over-scheduled, and not yet successful in building more time into the day.
Nicole's commitment to meaningful advocacy is rooted in the notion that, with the right skill set, she could effectively empower those who were willing to work hard enough to improve their quality of life beyond measure.
Parlaying a MA in Economics from the University of St. Andrews Scotland, Nicole's early career was spent navigating the financial sectors of New York City, London, and San Francisco, ultimately combining two skill sets: analytical research and writing for the institutional client. Later, a misguided attempt to pursue her love of advocacy led Nicole through a wrong turn into law school before she opened InForm Fitness in Virginia.
In 2010, she found the Power-of-10 methodology of strength training and put into practice all she learned. The name InForm Fitness is the predecessor name for Phoenix Fitness, under which Nicole operated for over 8 years. InForm Fitness is still the name of the New York-based, flagship brand of Nicole’s longtime mentor, Adam Zickerman. To Adam, Nicole owes endless homage.

Janice Glover-Jones is a coaching strategist and founder of “Seeing You.” She gives her clients permission to see their highest potential, helping them create a path to fulfillment. Her mission Is to help you see yourself realizing opportunities that lead to success in your career, relationships, and life. For 20+ years, Janice has been an action-oriented leader and visionary innovator. She is dedicated to inspiring others to see their potential and reach higher heights in their career and life. So let's go back to how it all started. Janice was a junior in high school when she decided that she needed to earn her own money. One day she went home and told her mother that she needed some brown khakis to start her job at Wendy's.
Her mother bought her the khakis. Janice put them on along with a white blouse and headed off to Wendy's. Once in the fast-food establishment, Janice met with the manager and said that today was her first day on the job. The manager looked surprised and said that no one had notified her of a new employee and that she didn't have any paperwork on Janice.
Nonetheless, she allowed Janice to fill out the paperwork and begin her first job that very day! Even as a teenager Janice saw herself in a good place (visionary); researched the attire needed for the job (action-oriented); and involved both her mom and Wendy's manager in getting her to where she wanted to be (leader).
Janice has a unique ability to meet people where they are, adapt to their style and personality, and ultimately serve their needs. This ability stems from her personal journey in life. Janice has had diverse career experiences that span many organizational functions (e.g. IT, Financial Management, Strategic Planning). She has worked in both government and private industry, and at all levels (from entry-level Clerk-Typist to C-Suite Senior Executive).

The conversation transitions into our perceived limitations. Ole shared that we can all do about “15-20% more than we think we are capable of.”
How do we set the limitations on ourselves for what is possible? Where did we learn those limitations?
At the end, Gordon shares a special experience and the importance of being present in every moment. When we are present in the moment, we do not think about our limitations. We can live fully for now and exceed the limitations of our minds on what is possible.

What does it mean to do our part? To bus our own table?
On this episode, Gordon shares a memory from one particular morning on the Camino, this time at breakfast! A simple act of picking up after ourselves, can leave a huge impact on a fellow peregrino!
When we do something for others, oftentimes, we are the ones that are rewarded.
Gordon shares that these values are why he created the Fundamentals of the Bernhardt Way:
Fundamental #25: Give back. Pay it forward. Regularly seek opportunities to assist those in need. Express genuine gratitude for the help received by paying it forward and helping others. Be a servant leader and put the needs of others ahead of your own.
“One of the greatest privileges of our work as financial planners and wealth managers is the opportunity to help our clients realize a philanthropic goal or vision,” Gordon shares in his book.
Our legacy is defined by our contribution, and everyone is inspired by something different, depending on their life perspective and personal values.
Later in the episode, Gordon shares another Bernhardt Way fundamental on how he maintains his positive outlook on life.
Fundamental #26: Keep it fun. While our passion for excellence is real, remember that the world has bigger problems than the daily challenges that make up our work. Stuff happens. Keep perspective. Don’t take things personally or take yourself too seriously. Laugh every day.

One particular day on the Camino presented a different challenge for Gordon. The bubble in his shoe had burst and he was left with a hole in his shoe. Similar to a financial bubble, this created decisions and obstacles along the journey.
Gordon shares that bubbles have been occurring since as early as the 1600 Holland Tulip Mania. He also shares his principles of investing that help his clients navigate their financial future during uncertain times.
As you will hear, the shoe became a lifelong lesson for Gordon on how to deal with unexpected events.

After walking more than 15 miles, he sat down to record a video to share with his clients. It was the 24 year anniversary of Bernhardt Wealth Management. Gordon shares the feeling of gratitude and overwhelm for the people that made it possible.
“While our walk through life might be our own, we never have to walk alone,” Gordon shares, as he explains the difference between solitude and loneliness.
These values serve Gordon well as he helps others navigate their own financial journeys. They don't have to walk that journey alone!
Gordon also shares his five-part strategic wealth management process!
“Only after we have listened, asked follow-up questions, gained clarity, and reached agreement on priorities with our client are we able to become the trusted traveling companion we aspire to be.”

In 2015, I was already contemplating walking the Camino de Santiago in a future year, I decided that I would walk the entire length of the C&O Canal.
I took a train to Cumberland, Maryland, and set out to walk 184.5 miles. My goal was to do it in 9 days…
After 4 days, my feet hurt so much that I could not go on.
I had made it a public proclamation and at the time, it felt like a failure.
As time drew closer for my Camino, all of those fears and doubts crept into my mind. I spent months preparing, changing shoes, and testing different socks.
I had done all of the preparation, but there was still a fear that I may fail again once I started my walk across the Camino.
Only this time, I was successful in completing my journey. I credit much of that success to my failure the first time, and I wouldn’t call it a failure. I call it a setback.
You have not failed until you quit trying. Learn from your experiences and allow your setbacks to propel you forward on your next journey!
Have you had a setback that set you up for success?

On this episode, Gordon recalls an experience from the Camino where he was faced with a decision. Continue on his course? Or take the scenic route to chase the castle at the top of the hill?
The scenic route may take longer, but you never know what you will find along the way. Gordon shares the lessons from that experience and the life-changing people he encountered on that journey.
Gordon believes that sometimes, in order to find what we’re really looking for, we have to be diverted from the path we’re on.

On this episode, Gordon shares his experiences of gratitude during his journey across the Camino.
What does gratitude mean to Gordon?
Gratitude doesn’t mean that every day was easy or that he didn’t encounter obstacles, both inner and outer.
One of the lessons he shares is that gratitude doesn’t necessarily depend on things being easy.
Gratitude is based on our perspective of the experiences, past, present, and future.
It is so easy for us to allow negativity to creep up on us and take root in our minds.
We all have a Meseta (obstacle) lying before us, from time to time. Yours may not be the prospect of a five- or six-day walk across a hot, arid plain.
Instead, it may be a particular challenge you are facing at work. It may be a relationship that is in difficulty, financial uncertainty, or any of a number of other circumstances that give you pause and make you wonder if you’re really up to the task.
On this episode, Gordon shares his perspective on gratitude both personally and professionally as it relates to wealth management.

On this episode, Gordon shares the life lessons of the day before leaving for his walk through Spain.
We often get caught up in our day-to-day lives. The work pressures, family responsibilities, community concerns—a host of items lines up every day, each one ready to shoehorn its way into our attention. And when we become preoccupied, we fail to notice so much that is going on around us. Most critically, perhaps, we fail to notice the people in our lives.
Our relationships are the most precious thing we have. Beyond money, beyond influence, beyond fame or professional success, we are truly defined by the quality of our relationships. And our web of relationships extends outward in ways that we don’t always realize.
On this episode, we discuss relationships, perspective, “doing your part,” and closing the gate behind you.

“You are not committed until you book the ticket?
That’s what my friend Pete told me, when I shared my commitment to walk the Camino.
I committed in 2016 and I was mentally prepared for my journey.
Remember, it's our actions that define our lives, not our intentions.
There comes a point in our lives when we have to stop talking about it and book our own ticket. For some of us, that’s a trip. For others, that means taking care of their financial future.
What is the ticket that you get to book right now in your life?

"the will to win is less important than the will to prepare to win"
We have all heard the famous quote about preparation.
I had a goal to walk the Camino and I had a plan to achieve that goal. The mental preparation was more challenging than the physical.
When investing for life, it is often the mental stress that is the most challenging to navigate. When markets shift or circumstances change, we begin to worry about the uncertain future.
In this episode, we discuss preparing to win both mentally and physically, along with changing your perspective when times are challenging.

If I asked you to list 2 words that were meaningful to you, what would those 2 words be? Would they be love, care, peace, or perhaps something else?
I'm not sure how I would have responded to that question earlier in my life.
In 2018, I had a heartfelt experience that touched my mind, body, and soul. My life would never be the same.
I began a 35 day, 618-mile pilgrimage across the Camino De Santiago in northern Spain. The trip inspired me to write my upcoming book "Buen Camino."
The lessons I learned on that journey taught me so much about myself, my business, and the perspective I needed on life. I hope you find the stories and lessons valuable as well.

In this episode, Gordon takes us through the original virtual family office and why you should consider a virtual family office for all of your investing needs.
You could define Family Office as staff that serves the needs of a single-family, and for as long as there have been wealthy families, there have been staff.
In the United States, it was Thomas Mellon, the patriarch of America's most enduring banking family.
It was John D Rockefeller, widely considered the richest American in history.
