If you wanted an episode about what's happening with the pageant world atm, this isn't it.. however there are some lessons we can apply. So I don't spill the tea (well some for me was spilled), we talk about when having the crown is not enough, ways to look after yourself after winning and protecting yourself because at the end of the day... pageantry is a hobby and directors are there for business.
Remember that no crown is worth a decline in your health
, both physical, mental and emotional
It's been a week since the very first National Pageant Expo and what a day it was!!
In this podcast ep I discuss what was said at the first conference, talking more about what was brought up and how we can improve on pageantry!
We are joined by a special guest Shirin, the Director of the National Pageant Expo, happening on the 18th Feb THIS month!!!
We talk about how and why, what to expect and why it's amazing to have a safe space for pageantry where we can catch up and enjoy all that pageants have to offer without the points or scores needed! I also heard there are MANY photo ops so all the pageant instas are going to look fireeeee!
You can still grab your tickets and because yours truly is speaking at the panel discussion, you can get 25 per cent off your standard or VIP ticket by using the code PAGEANTCON25!

I HATE the new year, new me trend. Why are you changing yourself, when it should be improving yourself and I know you are like Hannah, that's basically what it means but the reason so many NYD resolutions fail is because we change TOO much!
From the anti-diets to not falling into the numbers trap, and other random talks, listen to our first ep of the year.
We look back at 2023 but also talk about what we should leave behind, and what to bring into 2024!
It's been an amazing year for us and here is to our 7th year next year! If you have any questions or anything, just drop us a message on insta!
I will always remember the shaddeeeee when someone said their coaching was more than just mock interviews... mock interviews are one of the BEST ways of knowing how you will react in an interview! Of course, they aren't all you need to be doing but don't forget them, they may be that tool to helping your confidence with interview! And we should know, many of the queens who have done our mock interview panel charity sessions have taken their crowns home (as well as coaching and being prepared but progress is progress!)
This episode is all about using social media to your advantage, to use the features to talk about your journey and platform, for appearances, all of that!!
It doesn't mean you need to get all the likes or anything like that, but more how you can promote what you want to do with the sash! There is no excuse about not being able to make a difference if all it takes is a few posts!
The two H's of pageant coaching are talking pageantry! We have another special guest The Crown Coach aka Harriotte Lane, who has won national titles and placed 4th runner up at Miss International! She has won numerous awards for her coaching and charity pageants, as well as creating Crown Camp and her new social media business of The Social Generator!
We talk about how she became a coach, her highlights, how social media is a great tool in the lead up to the finals, pageant heels and those pageant icks!
You can find Harriotte on insta @thecrowncoach or on her website at https://www.crowncoach.online/
If you have any pageantry questions or want to hear a subject on the podcast, message us on insta!
Today we discuss about the aftermath of pageantry with the negative vibes and fix claims, as well as how to deal with your feelings of lost after a pageant.
For me, this is the ugly side of pageantry where someone needs to be blamed when someone doesn't do as well as one hoped.
Of course there will be times where it could be true and we will never silence anyone's voice, but think before you angry type...
We got former Ms Galaxy International 2019 Beth on the podcast! Beth has been on the pageant scene since 2007, and has held many national titles such as Miss and Ms Galaxy UK, Miss Grand England as well as Miss International UK! After finishing her International reign, she turned to pageant coaching to be able to share the knowledge on! Since then she has coached national and international winners, with all FIVE of the Galaxy UK 2023 winners training with Beth!
We talk about how she got into pageant coaching, coaching transparency, our pageant icks as well as what we want to more girls to learn/do more of!
It was amazing to talk to the queen herself, you can find her website at https://www.queenbpageanttraining.co.uk/
Or find her on insta @queenbpageanttraining
From Canada to the UK, we talk to The Pageant Gal Maria all about pageantry, from owning your power, not comparing yourself to others, the mindset of a queen as well as what we want to see in 2024 pageantry!!
Maria is a FULL time pageant coach hunnniiiii, she has followed her passion to a full time career in pageantry! Having the experience as a past national and international titleholder, she is helping queens from all over the world with her skills and knowledge! She is slaying the social media game with her unapologetic self, saying all that we wish we could! If you want to see more (of course you do!) follow her on insta at @thepageantgal or check out her website at

Ok so I recorded this a week ago and nearly did what I have been doing for the past month of just not uploading and not liking the episode, writers block is real y'all
But we have had so much talk about the cost of pageants so I wanted to have a little chat about budgeting, how to reduce your costs with appearances and what no and just a general pageant chit chat!
A bit of a natter at the start but we break down the most asked questions in interview and how you can ace them!
Comparison is the thief of joy, and that is what you do when you start to compare yourself to other contestants and to the current winners. We talk about how to focus on you, and be the queen you want toe be, without trying to be someone else.
We are SO sorry for the lack of episodes recently, summer holiday and illness has taken over! Remember you can suggest topics and give us feedback! Just find us on insta and DM!
It's countdown to the pageant girl weekender in which I will be handing my UK's National Ms crown after an amazing year of being a queen. Self reflection is so important and I believe this is one of the tools that helped me win, I talk about how I planned my finalist and queen year, as well as the mental and physical prep before and after. We did an episode back in 2021 after placing second runner up so it's nice to come back and revisit!
We want to know what YOU want on the podcast! Let us know through insta and we will try to make it happen!!
In today's episode we talk about what we want you to know from a coaches view about what we do as a coach, this can also help if you aren't looking into coaching but want to approach how you are prepping for your pageant.
As a pageant coach we get asked so many things or different expectations so I hope this episode answers some of it!
Look out for the episode of what your coach doesn't want you to do, that one will be interesting...

Pageant research is important, and it's not just when you enter a system. From creating platforms, campaigns, products from booking pageant
services, avoid the pageant drama and take these tips!
If you only go into your interview speaking about one thing, the judges don't get to know all about you, just that one part you focused on. This episode
talks about how to avoid the waffle, to get to the main points and be more than just a one sided queen
Hello queens! Today we reflect on some of the lessons learnt within pageantry, with some home truths you may need to hear...
(also at the time we recorded there was a panel interview but that has gone!!! We will be looking at new dates!)
The question that is always asked, why do you want to win? Why? Is it the crown, something more? We ponder this interview question in another podcast episode !
Adding the YOU into your interview, pageant brand and talking more about your personality than just pageantry. Take a listen and see if you need to add more of you in!
We all get the pageant guilt, let this be the episode which breaks down why and why you shouldn't be feeling it!
What does an interview and a sandwich have in common? This podcast! This episode we talk about how to effectively answer an interview question!
It's our 6th birthday month!!!! Today we talk about pageant burnout before the competition. This episode was requested and I hope all you lovelies are doing well! Remember to do things other than pageants, drink water and avoid the trap of comparing yourself to others...
This episode takes us into the questions, and why we should be questioning more! How can we make pageants more transparent so we know what we are getting ourselves into! We talk about pageants as a whole, matching criteria and even coaches or other pageant girls!
Talking and explaining about the different rounds and tips for each! Remember it's not the price tag, its how it suits your complexion and body type so whether your outfits cost a fiver or a thousand, as long as you shineeee!
Today's episode we talk about pageant interviews and scripts, basically don't script your answers! This also goes for online interviews as well as interview marked interviews! Too many times people are afraid to shy away from the words on paper, but it makes better viewing when it's natural conversation!
Today's talk could be triggering to those who are currently suffering with an ED, as we talk about the results from the study we conducted about the pageant body, as well as why you shouldn't have to change for a pageant but for you. Anyone who tells you you need to be a certain body type can go eat rocks.
Today we are talking about booking a pageant photoshoot, do you need it?!!! Welllll yes, we talk about the many benefits, my fav photographers in pageant land as well as when you actually need them rather than a want. They can be really handy for so much, like our podcast cover! But as I said in our last episode, you don't need one every three months... unless you can afford to then get the bag girl!
Rather than fashion trends to leave behind, we want to leave behind some of the attitudes and myths that surround competing in pageants. Let's leave some of that all behind in 2022 and make 2023 a year to remember!
Adding personality into your interviews is a must to not sound too over rehearsed or robot like, but there can also be too much added in. We talk about how to make your interview more personality led, with different approaches and interview questions, as well as some things to avoid! Have a happy new year and we will see you in 2023!
Today we discuss about do we need to be travelling everywhere in order to get the crown? Looking at ways you can still work the sash, without leaving your home! We also discuss how we don't all have the same 24 hours and that we need to stop comparing where we can't compare! It's a mixed match episode but you wouldn't expect anything less, merry christmas!
You say you have a pageant platform, but what are you doing with it?! We talk about how you can explain in your interview about your platform, by giving actual examples about what you have done to make an impact, rather than waffle words!
In this episode we reflect on our 2022, the good and the bad! WE also talk about the process of The Pageant Annual in which you can now go buy!!!
What do you classify as a "mainstream" pageant? And does this terminology put you off competing or representing pageants that don't come under this term? Or maybe it puts you off mainstream pageants?
We discuss what is usually termed as and what we can do better to include the whole of pageantry, this is more of an discussion podcast but I would love to know your thoughts?
Why do you think you didn't get the crown? Have you looked at the whole picture or have you blamed other aspects. Take a listen to a few reasons why you aren't snatching that crown...
Wow 50 podcast episodes!!! Today we talk about Pageantcon! What to expect, why and how! We also talk about our other pageant fundraising adventures, finishing with planning our 6 years anniversary!!! If you have any questions, drop us a DM on insta!
Today we talk about those folders, and this is your sign to start them now or you know pay us to do it for you aha! But this is talking about how to lay out your folder, what actually counts as an appearance and how to represent your best self through your gorge appearance folder!
Boundaries are something the a should be put in place to protect your own mental being, but sometimes we push ourselves too much or push others?!
In this episode we talk about setting boundaries within pageantry, from friendships, timing, expectations, it's important to make sure you say no once in a while!!
Because people think like this, they feel it's beneath them because the top queens in the top pageants don't do this. NEWS FLASH GIRLIES (and my NB folks), but you aren't competing in those systems, so what does it matter? Everyone should have the right to enjoy their pageant journey without being looked down on because of something that is literally helping so many others. So yea, this is a moaning podcast ep!
As requested, how to prepare for your internationals. These are from my personal experiences and what you should expect, research, plan and budget for! Remember that this is a trip of a lifetime (or more if you compete in different pageants! but not everyone get's to do it!), so being prepared is the best thing you can do for yourself!
Today we discuss about having a social media presence within pageantry. Is it needed? Do you need all the engagement, what should you post? Let's talk!
What do you think qualifies someone to be a pageant coach? Not just to give advice but to charge for it? We discuss what makes a coach, what you look for and why experience outweighs crowns won, of course with lots of off the topic but still pageant related content that you expect from us! Let us know what you think a coach should have or why you pick a coach!
Over rehearsed or just prepared and passionate? It's hard when it comes to the interview as you want to be prepared, but you don't want to be reading from a script! Some may call it a pageant patty, but we don't know her here. Let's talk the best ways to avoid the cliches and what's the right amount to train...
More red flags than a flag shop, in this part we debate the term crown chaser, talk about coaches and their flags, as well as competing flags
This one is a LONG one and neeeeeded to have more than one part! I asked you the listeners, what you think your red flags are, as well as adding my own list and boy was there a huge response. So have a listen, let me know what you think and if you need to add to it, drop me a message!
Yes, we know it's been a while! So the pageant attitude? What are you talking about Hannah? This is the approach that some people have towards competing, that THEY ALONE should win, that you HAVE to do the most or raise the most and sometimes it's about thinking you are beneath a system because of the title. We talk about it ALL!
If you have any requests, DM us on Insta!
The first month is always the most exciting month, you have all these plans, you want to make the most of it but then sometimes you also think well I have ages until finals.... nope! It will creep up on you! Using that first month to plan, get everything in order. and start making the impact. The same when you win the crown, the first month is the month people take note. Do you agree?
After a long break of essays and illness, and a couple of birthdays in-between and we are back! And this is why you don't need to worship every single pageant girl you meet!
When it seems the in thing to have a platform, is it really needed? We talk about why you shouldn't "force" a platform, and that many queens have won without! A platform should be a passion, and something that you can actively do. It's ok to not have one and still work with different charities and communities , it just doesn't need to be your platform. We have more episodes discussing about what a platform is and how to chose one should you wish, but remember it's not needed by nearly all UK pageant systems!
To comment or not to comment, that is the question! This episode we talk about internet trolls, educating others and when to get involved. If you were asked to try and change a person's negative view on pageantry, could you?
How many times have you worried about your competition? Fixated and compared, just because they may have had a few wins or placed highly. This episode talks about this with the polls we had, and why the only person you should be focusing on is YOURSELF! We also discuss queens entering other systems after a win and in the same system. If you have enjoyed this podcast, give us a rating! <3
Entering the right system that suits your lifestyle and needs are so important. You need to be realistic about how much you can give a system and of course after winning, what you can and can't do. There is no point entering a system that goes to internationals if you can't afford to go to them and have no plan after you win. We talk about pageants and how they market their systems, and what you can do to make the right choice. Should queens just relax after they win, is all the hard work done? Let's discuss.
But Hannah, that is the literal definition of losing! Well girl, let's sit down and reflect!
We are back for our first episode of 2022! So the Too Much queen? What is that? Are you a too much queen? I say that a too much queen doesn't have too much direction, they want to be involved in everything and create so many things but there is nothing that links it back to them. I know we all went overboard with the social awareness days back when we couldn't leave the house, but how do they relate now? Do you have too many raffles on the go? Are you exhausted with all the travelling? Here we discuss many things.
We also discuss between the first 15 mins about diversity in pageants with my recent press coverage with the P in pageantry, discussing mainstream pageants and visibility, as well as the sad passing of Cheslie so if you want to skip to around the 15 min mark, I won't judge you. It's a long one!
Ignore the fact this was meant to go out Christmas Eve :/ but in today's podcast ep we talk about switching systems and entering last minute into different pageant systems. the pros and the cons as well as getting out of the mindset that just because someone entered late, means they don't care about the crown as much as someone who has entered a year. Lot's to think about!
When you are a finalist, you may either create your own series of talk interviews or participate in them. Remember that there is no point booking in, if you have no idea what to say! What can you talk about, do you have your events or platforms? If you are being the interviewer, are you asking the right questions? How long is your project for? What are you gaining from this experience? Lots of talk and thoughts!
If you have any questions, message us on our socials! See you next time pageant queens!
We have announced the new PageantCon date, 30th Jan 2022! And this brought up the question, what makes a pageant expert? What makes someone an expert within pageantry to pay them money and listen to them, or receive a service.
If you have any questions, drop us a message on our socials!
Hello listeners, it's been a while! Pageantry got very busy! But this episode is all about preventing the pageant burnout! From limiting events, saying no, my top tip is to leave the weekend before your finals free so you can tie up all those loose ends! We do mention at the end about a session on Facebook but I was late uploading this, so go back and watch if you would like! That darn COVID!
If you want to know more about pageants, follow our socials and drop us a message!
Pageant Platforms here in the UK are on the rise, from our US counterparts and it's great, it really is! However, not everyone needs to have one, or if you have chosen one, is because you truly want to make a difference and impact, or just because you FEEL you need to have one. Platforms should be something of a passion, don't try to force it! We have other episodes explaining what a platform is and how to create one, like in the handbook, but this episode explains why you shouldn't have one, just because it's in "in" thing to do.
If you want us to cover any other subject within UK pageantry then let us know! Find us on our socials <3
Today's podcast is a mixture of conversations and thoughts about the "popular" pageant queen and why you shouldn't fall down that trap. I've seen so many times girls who want to be the "best" and feel they need to be surrounded by "the best". Also to not feel you have to change for each system, that not everyone will like you and you don't need to use the "popular" brands or sponsors as it has no say over your overall scoring, what does is YOU.
If you need any advice, reach out on our socials, we are always here!
Hello Pageant World! It's been a few!
Today's podcast episode is all about my personal prep towards UKNM, in which I placed second runner up at! My pageant prep was a bit unique with the hip surgery but I talk about how long for outfits, walking, interview coaching, and dealing with all those feelings afterwards. It was nice to be back in pageant land and I hope it has inspired you all for your competitions!
For our interview masterclass dates, flashcards and handbook, find us on our socials and message us!
In today's podcast, let's talk speaking up! Having a pageant sash means being that role model, we all have different causes and platforms we want to promote, but we should also be supporting our fellow sisters and speaking up. Create the ripples that start the waves. We discuss not being afraid to speak up in case it costs you your title, educating yourself on current issues and using your voice to challenge others. This pride month, speak out for LGBTQ issues but also remember this is all day every day for some, it's not just an appearance point in your folder.
If you want more subjects discussed or you have questions about pageantry, message us on our socials! We are always happy to help and we also offer coaching as well so don't feel lost in pageant world, add that extra sparkle!

You can find us on social media, just search for Sparkles and Rhinestones! Drop us a message on what topics to cover, if you would like to be interviewed for our Facebook series or whether you would like to book in for coaching!
The blunt truth of it all, if pageants don't bring you joy and you don't love the system you are in, get out! Change! Remove yourself and find a path where you want to do appearances, where you want to love your platform and show that passion, where you love the system and everything it represents! You gotta love yourself! This is what we talk about on today's podcast!

We talk about different aspects of the pageant interview question but also something you should ask yourself before putting down any money in pageantry!
We hope you enjoyed this podcast episode, you can find us on Facebook, Instagram and now Youtube!

In a pageant interview, we want to be projecting our best selfies and not focus on anything. negative unless it's proving a point with our platform. Some questions that the judges may ask can make you say things that can seem negative on your other competitors or borderline that fine line between cocky and confident. In this podcast episode we discuss the questions of, "Why should you win over everyone else" and "If you could change anything about this pageant, what would it be?"
We will be talking about more pageant interview answers as well as lot's of other pageant topics! if you want to know more, you can buy The Ultimate Pageant Handbook which goes more in depth with all things pageantry! Just message us on instagram at @sparklesandrhinestonesuk to get your copy!
What can't you do if you enter a pageant? From social media, judges looking at your profile, questionable photos, creating an only fans within pageantry, what photos are allowed and which could see you stripped from your title? Avoid losing the title before you even get to the finals and have a listen!
In this episode we talk all about the pageant stage, the different types of pageant stages and walks, and how your walk should be personal to you rather than a carbon copy! Don't fall into the trap of you need to do a million twirls in 6 inch heels when a sassy walk in 2 inch heels without a turn can win you a crown!
Have you ever heard the term "Queen Project" within pageantry? Ever been asked about your Queen Project when talking about your next steps and interview prep?
A Queen Project is simply a project that you plan to complete whilst being a titleholder, when the judges ask what you plan to do with your year, you have something that has structure and gives the judges the idea that you have thought about this, and have an actual place rather than the usual comment about attending events and doing charity work!
You can read more about QP in our handbook, message us on Insta or Facebook to find out more!
