So if you didn't know, Lizzo got some backlash over a word that she used that was offensive to the disabled community and her response to that was to issue an apology. And then she also changed the lyric on the song and is going to release a new version. I feel like this is an important conversation to have. We live in a time now where everyone has a platform to express what affects them and how it affects them. And it's also important that when people tell us something, offends them to believe them, I'm all for that. 100%. I don't want this post to get misconstrued as me calling people too sensitive and all that because I hate when people say that. But this post isn't about the offensiveness of the word. I want to focus more on the changing the lyrics. I don't think it 100% applies to this specific situation, but this situation did bring up for me that I hope it doesn't get to the point where anytime anyone gets offended from art that there's backlash and then the art changes some topics that art brings up are uncomfortable and can be offensive, but it's still a necessary thing to do to bring up certain conversations and bring change this song wasn't necessarily that but that's my only concern about the idea of backlash changing lyrics

it is very interesting That Drake, Kendrick and cole rarely have worked together their whole entire careers. I think that's a real shame because I think they would have made some amazing music together because we've seen it, they worked together a little bit. But around the last, honestly, pretty much since the beginning of all their careers, like the last 10 years or so, they haven't really linked back up together. Of course, there was supposed to be the Kendrick, Lamar and jay cole collab album that we've never gotten. Honestly, I feel like it's a little too late for that now. They could put it out and it would be cool, but I feel like the moment has passed. It's always been speculated that Kendrick might have a little beef with drake, especially with Kendrick's line on mr morale and the big steppers where he mentioned Kanye and drake squashing their beef and Kendrick said he still had work to do. I thought that was maybe alluding to the beef that they may have. It's never been confirmed that they have one, but there's a lot of evidence that they do. And now we have a rumor that drake and cole are about to drop a video together soon that they were spotted making a video together. Now that would be amazing because honestly right now J cole is the best feature artist in the game. Um so right now, I feel like it would be amazing for Drake and Coal to have a song together, Drake bringing that mainstream appeal. Coal really spitting like he's been doing, I feel like that would be just a great song, but it would be really cool to see all three of them work together there Three of the best artists from their generation from the 2010s and so it would definitely be cool to see them work together again.

lil nas X not being nominated for a beads, he award is a Travesty Lil nas X had one of the biggest years in music last year. He dropped a critically acclaimed album. That has amazing replay value. It's really introspective. It has bangers on there. It is a great album. If y'all haven't listened to Montara yet, which is wild to me, but you should still go listen to it if you haven't yet. He's been on all these national performances. His music videos are amazing. He's in touch with his fans on social media. I mean there isn't any artist would want to have a year like lil Nas X had last year and the fact that he did not get one nomination for the B. E. T. Awards should not have happened, lil nas X has been a groundbreaking artist. Being a gay black man in the pop and the hip hop space, seeing the success that he's had embracing who he is. He's definitely breaking down doors and he deserves nominations 100%. And not just because of what I said either, like he makes the music, he makes the music videos, he makes the statements, he does everything necessary to not only get nominated for these awards but to win them as well. So I hope moving forward when it comes to future B. E. T. Awards, Grammys, all that kind of stuff, he starts winning these awards that he deserves to win. And once again if you haven't checked out Little Nas X's work at this point, definitely go ahead and check it out. It's worth it. It's 100% worth your time. It's amazing art. So go ahead and do that lil Nas X. Just let you.

the disrespect for Nicki Minaj has to stop. There are a lot of times that Nikki's accomplishments and influence are put under question for no reason at all. There's a post going around twitter right now about the Mount Rushmore of 2000 tens, hip hop on that list, there's Kendrick drake and J Cole, then there's 1/4 open spot and the post is asking who people think should be on there. The post itself isn't bad. But the thing is this debate and conversation already happened at the beginning of the year, it was a gigantic debate. It was such a big topic that Spotify held a vote and Nicki Minaj won that vote and then Spotify actually made all these murals all over the place with the people on that Mount Rushmore in the murals. So I feel like this is another example of people taking Nicki Minaj's accomplishments and just throwing them to the side like reopening this conversation after we already had, it just isn't necessary. Nikki's accomplishments and influence speak for themselves, you don't really even have to Nikki's accomplishments and influence, speak for itself, her commercial success, her impact, her legacy are all, top four worthy. I think Nicki Minaj, being a female rapper makes it harder for her to be in the top spot in hip hop culture and although yes, as a genre were becoming more inclusive and there's more female rappers than ever right now
