Several people have asked me to address this question, and what I meant by my comments, so I expand in the video above. My position is basically that Spencer is being turned into the character from the Daniel Kaluuya character in the all-time great Black Mirror episode Fifteen Million Merits. He’s a slave who competes in a American Idol type competition, but it so fed up with him oppression that he threatens to slit his throat on stage. His protest is turned into its own media property, in which the regime capitalizes on his simulated and controlled voicing of grievances.

A non-exhaustive list of basedsploitation films would include Bone Tomahawk (2015), Brawl in Cell Block 99 (2017), Dragged Across Concrete (2018), Run. Hide. Fight. Propaganda expert Jacob Siegel (Jacob Siegel) has written extensively about the network of governmental organizations and NGOs that, in the last decade, and formed what amounts to an official censorship bureau in the United States. His new book The Information State covers the extensive details of this sprawling leviathan, and how it attempts to control thought via a very Obama-coded approach called “Whole-of-Society”: basically managing humans like insects.
Jacob recently had a review of his book taken down for extremely dubious reasons, largely involving a “disinformation expert” Renee DiResta who herself is involved in disinformation campaigns like The Birmingham Project (must read).

Found my new favorite guy. Caldwell-esque sex discrimination expert Scott Yenor joins me to discuss an absolutely incontrovertible truth: Ruth Bader Ginsburg destroyed Virginia Military Institute in United States v. Virginia (1996). Not only that, the entire pretense of the decision was that allowing women to be admitted wouldn’t effect the culture at all. Very similar to Sandra Day O’Connor’s famous reasoning that the purpose of making affirmative action constitutional was that it surely wouldn’t be needed to rectify racial achievement in 25 years…which similarly turned out to be the opposite of true.

Previously, Kaschuta had been a sort of gateway drug to the dissident right, hosting various major figures on her podcast and cringe-ily spouting meme phrases in ways that she, and many simps, thought was very cute. Of course, it didn’t last. As soon as she realized that she may have to actually live by some of the principles she received attention for flirting with, she quickly ran back to the warm embrace of girl boss feminism. Her recent “you need to work harder to include women” rhetoric, and podcast appearances fretting about tariffs made her the heroine of a NYT piece about the vibe shifting against the dissident right, nevermind that it is of course this very unwillingess to compromise that drew her to us in the first place.
I’d been predicting this disturbing end to the her arc for quite some time.

My understanding of USAID was my original red pill, and came as a result of reading Confessions of an Economic Hitman while working as a legal intern at a M&A law firm in Vietnam.

I’m joined by Martin Sellner, leader of Identitäre Bewegung Österreich (Identitarian Movement of Austrian). His movement supports remigration out of Europe, what we would call mass deportations.
Eery similarities pervade the overwhelming flood of immigrants into both of our countries, both inexplicably borderless, and the reactions are also quite similar, although America has perhaps more excuses for it than Austria.
Crazily, the symbol of his movement has been literally banned from public display in Austria; displaying it could get you arrested in Vienna. Two paths diverge in a wood. On November 5th, America will decide which it travels by.
Some, like Christopher Caldwell, say America 1.0 ended with the passage of the Civil Rights Act. It was here where the freedom of assembly was truly lost, and our path from experiment in liberty to experiment in race communism began.
Others, like Curtis Yarvin, will say America 1.0 ended with FDR. It was actually he who turned the government towards diet Communism.
Many still will say that the entire appellation is silly because of course America 1.0 ended with the Civil War
All perspectives are technically right, but in this video I offer a new one. American men still believe in the American system, even if we complain about it a lot. If Trump wins, which I predict he will, we take the blue pill. Democracy, for it’s flaws, will have worked. We’ll enter a decade long period of great prosperity, for America as a whole, but especially for those of us who have put skin in the game on nationalism and Trump. Based businesses will blow up, straight white dudes will get hired as fancy consultants, right wingers will get important TV deals. We’ll all get rich and get laid like never before. It’ll be a beautiful decade. Again, I think this is what will happen, and I think we’ll find out night of, because Trump will win in too large of a landslide to “fortify.”
But if Trump loses, something will happen to the psychology of the American male that has never happened before in the history of country—which is why I call it the real end of America 1.0. If Kamala Harris, deeply unpopular as a national Dem candidate and utterly incompetent as the literal border czar, and thus the overseer of the most pressing and present issue not just in American elections but every recent election in the Western world, is elected president via a freshly fortified voting system (an extremeform of democracy effectively amounting to a click-to-vote) that was overhauled after Trump won, ….well, just imagine if it were literally anything else? Let’s take boxing, if an underdog won and then the favorite had the rules of boxing changed so that he won every subsequent rematch…even if those rules would agreed upon and there was no cheating, how would fans of the sport react? Their trust would be destroyed. It would be obviously illegitimate. They would have no choice but to lobby to fix it, or to abandon boxing altogether.
In the political sense, this disenfranchisement will lead young men away from the distractions that have plagued us for nearly a century, which is to say towards the more natural statue of being politically engaged. The American male is perhaps the least political young male human in the history of the world. All prior generations for the past several centuries met in coffeeshops and pubs and dedicated their lives toward the formation of political parties and the participation in propaganda. Today’s male holds his nose up at these activities, and perhaps, until now, justifiably so…better to focus on starting companies, innovating products, and getting rich. But all that changes if Trump loses. It’s no coincidence that the UK is looking into banning “problematic drinking.” What they actually seek is to destroy the ability for young men to meet and plot and form political parties.
“Coffeehouse Culture” was the precursor, in many ways, to the Age of Enlightenment that gave birth to America in the first place.
“That mixture of news reading, discussion, sharing of ideas [was] absolutely crucial to the rapid spread of the coffeehouse during a period of rapid rise of knowledge,” Hawley explained. It was also the birthplace of periodical literature in England, whereby Hawley said “the coffeehouse was put on paper” in the form of essays. The periodicals Tatler and The Spectator were founded in 1709 and 1711, respectively, through collecting stories from the coffeeshops, which further forged them as the foremost place to learn the latest news.
—— However, some thought this open sharing of news and political ideas was a threat to the monarchy. In 1675, King Charles II’s ministers attempted to suppress and close down coffeehouses on the grounds of their “evil and dangerous effects”. The king feared that coffee may provoke instigation or the plotting of violence against the throne and ordered the “close of coffee-houses altogether”, although he later withdrew the ban two days before it was to be put into effect, Brian Cowan writes in The Social Life of Coffee: The Emergence of the British Coffeehouse.
To be politically engaged is a less pleasant existence, to be sure. It’s the red pill path. But it will also be a necessary correction, and will revert us to a more natural, purposeful state of being. Young men are built for power, not for powerpoint. Truly, the young man is purposeless without a hand in the destiny of his civilization. If Kamala wins, the illusions that have kept him uninvolved are broken for good. It’s back to the coffeeshop we go.

Cracking the nut of local media, the based way, with Virgil Davis Hunt of the Nashville Pamphleteer. Pamphleteer is similar to Michigan Enjoyer—filling the void where alt weeklies like Village Voice, LA Weekly, and VICE (originally Voice of Montreal) used to be. The local perspective, focused more on the culture of your physical space than the theoretical universal one that lives in your mind, is inherently anti-globalist. It is the communist-of-soul, the deranged utili-topian, who clings to to the perspective that what’s happening to people thousands of miles away is equal to what’s happening to themselves and their neighbors. Yet it is our local leaders who have the power to close our businesses, restrain our movements, and force our children to receive unwanted injections. At the core of the woke mind virus relies on the notion that that humans are interchangeable, and that it is racist and wrong for your empathy to stop at the end of your tribe. Alt weeklies, despite being historically left-coded, provided an essential bulwark against this globalized and thus atomized perspective susceptible to centralized control. It is not surprising, then, that this global regime so eagerly decimated local media, and now uses its remains as a skin suit to camouflage a proboscis tube hoovering our milkshakes back to centralized financial groups the world over. But localism, much like life, finds a way. This is the Nashville Pamphleteer.

A few days ago, a Pascal Emmanuel-Gobry tweeted a chart showing the plummeting birth rate of Oman. Oman is a hereditary monarchy under sharia law—the last place you would expect the longhouse and the resulting TFR decline to touch. Pascal tweeted: “Something incredibly bizarre is happening, all over the world, and it is completely unstudied.”
And it’s true. We can blame American wokeness all we want, but in fact we’re facing a worldwide problem that seems to permeate everywhere. It’s such a huge change occurring right in front of our eyes that we can barely see it.
One explanation is technology—“the Borg” as thinkers like James Poulos call it. The idea here is that wokeness is actually just the special sauce on top of a all-powerful machine that wants to reduce human beings to easily interchangeable cogs. Immutable characteristics like race and gender get in the way of human fungibility, so there’s a ever-present inertia to get rid of them.
However, the explanation that I keep coming back to over and over again is Astral’s metaphysical one. Put simply, we were in the Age of Pisces for 2000 years, and we just shifted to the Age of Aquarius. Pisces is the last sign in the zodiac, Aquarius is the first.
The meaning? Everything is new. The whole world is upside down/underwater. All the old monsters—famine, flooding, raiding, etc—are dead. They’e been replaced by new ones like, perhaps, sterility. And with new kinds of monsters come new kinds of heroes to slay them.

Why is every single commercial now a pharma ad?
Commercials during the NFL playoffs used to shill beer, cars, burgers, insurance. Now it’s 70-80% pharma ads—deeply uncomfortable arguments for everything from psoriasis and alopecia drugs to “the vaccine” itself.
According to Chris, the answer lies unsurprisingly in Covid. You’ll notice that the majority of these ads emanate from Pfizer. The big winners during the pandemic like Pfizer, Moderna, and others who “sold the tools” to the “disease gold rush” now face plummeting revenue. They’re attempting to close the gap by over-spending on the few mainstream channels guaranteed to reach the old people they can scare into buying their cures.
We also discuss what Chris calls The Age of B**t in the media buying industries.

We wondered just how dirty the regime would play to disrupt democracy and prevent Trump from taking office again. Now we know.
joins me to discuss the breaking news out of Maine. The state joined Colorado in preventing Trump from appearing on the ballot The Colorado decision came from its Longhouse harridan supreme court, while the Maine was a unprecedented “ruling” from its Longhouse harridan secretary of state, a former ACLU director.
This has never happened before, even close, as no unelected official (a judge or a secretary of state) has ever had the audacity to bar a political rival from running for office, perhaps the most flagrantly obvious violation of democratic principles imaginable. Yet that didn’t stop left wing patronage organizations like Citizens for Ethics (CREW) from filing what should have been frivolous lawsuits and petitions on behalf of whichever random citizens it can find. Both the Colorado and Maine decisions were the result of such frivolous lawsuits on positions, organized and filed by left wing activist organizations on behalf of private citizens.
In most instances, like California, Minnesota, and New Hampshire, the cases were thrown out. This is because it should be obvious that politically-biased unelected state officials have no standing to bar a democratically-elected president from the ballot.
But two such officials in Colorado and Maine did just that. Their reasoning: the 3rd section of the 14th Amendment contains an insurrection clause:
This was written to bar Confederates from serving in office after the Civil War, and most definitely not for situations in which a candidate held a protest in which he said:
"I am asking for everyone at the U.S. Capitol to remain peaceful. No violence! Remember, WE are the Party of Law & Order. Respect the Law and our great men and women in Blue. Thank you!"
Nonetheless, there are issues to analyze: one factual and two legal.
Factually, the question is whether Trump did in fact “commit insurrection.” Despite the above statement, the Colorado Supreme Court used creepy testimony from psychologists to show that Trump didn’t actually mean what he said. The Maine secretary of state also used her own impressions about Trump’s true intent to arrive at her conclusions, which is a massive stretch. Her decision contains references to cases that seemingly have no relation whatsoever to the situation, as Michael Tracy unpacks here. It’s a gross abuse of power, and frankly she should be sanctioned and potentially jailed for it, as Charles Haywood points out here.
Legally, there are two issues. Does the 14th Amendment section 3 apply to Trump? And does the 14th Amendment section 3 give anyone, private individuals, courts, or secretaries of state, the standing to remove him from the ballot? This great American Mind article provides great analysis of both issues.
On the first issue, whether the 14th Amendment applies to duly elected presidents:
“In defining who is potentially subject to disqualification, Section 3 specifies those who “as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States,” had previously “taken an oath…to support the Constitution.” Reading the section in light of the constitutional distinction between elected and appointed federal office-holders, it is plain that the section refers to (1) those who were elected to Congress and (2) those who were appointed (to offices in the federal executive or judicial branches). The section does not refer to or include the elected president or vice president.
This omission must have been deliberate; it could not have been the product of simple negligence or inadvertence. The 39th Congress, which drafted Section 3, spent months in drafting and debating it. That Congress included some exceptionally fine constitutional lawyers among its members. After Congress proposed the amendment, it was further examined and debated in the press and by the public. To echo the Colorado justice, had it been considered so important to include the president, then the drafters of the amendment would have spelled it out.”
On the second, whether states or individuals have the standing to make such decisions:
“Section 3 is “non-self-executing” or, in simpler terms, it does not provide a cause of action or legal claim enabling challengers to seek to have a prospective candidate for office (or an official-elect, or even an incumbent) disqualified through a court order—unless Congress has authorized the court to hear such a complaint and to order such relief. This argument is powerfully bolstered by the actions and pronouncements of high-ranking federal officials soon after Section 3 was adopted—including President U.S. Grant, Chief Justice Salmon Chase, and the influential Republican Senator Lyman Trumbull. All of these contemporaneous figures were familiar with the purposes of Section 3 and understood full well what it meant.
In general, moreover, as the Supreme Court has recurrently (and recently) emphasized, few constitutional provisions implicitly create causes of action for the use of private litigants; normally constitutional clauses require “execution” or implantation by an Act of Congress before the courts can grant relief based on them.”
But of course, no facts or law matter to the political activists who have abused their power to effectively end the American experiment with Democracy. Trump has been labeled “insurrectionist,” telegraphed by the partisan media all the way back to January 6th and coming to fruition now as states helmed by political activists harvest the fruits of the patronage and media networks that manufactured this entire affair.
It’s an absolute shame that no right wing organizations prepared for this obvious outcome by filing their own insurrection cases, for e.g. against the public officials that supported and encouraged CHOP/CHAZ in Seattle, which was an actual insurrection. Why the right totally missed this, and what we can do about it, is a big part of my discussion with Raw Egg.
Raw Egg has recently published two pieces about regime efforts to destroy Trump and alienate deprive his voters of the right to vote for him by any means necessary.
In the first, “On Savior Complexes” for Lotus Eaters, he argues that the right externalizes our savior complexes, but that nobody is coming to save us.
In the other, for Human Events, he deftly analyzes the mainstream media’s recent flurry of fever dreams about assassinating Trump.

It’s the AI Episode. DC AI policy guy Brian Chau convinces me, an AI skeptic, that machine learning actually is all it’s cracked up to be.
The key lay in Brian’s description of gradient descent, the so-called “workhorse behind machine learning.”
Basically, gradient descent is how you teach a computer through mathematics to climb or descend a linear hill. Sort of how you give the computer the ability to “see” in the right direction. The computer responds to right and wrong inputs by creating its own vast calculus that humans can’t reproduce—in that sense it really does form its own “impressions” and “ideas” about how to respond in certain scenarios. It is thus more than just “glorified autocorrect” or a “stochastic parrot”—just a probabilistic word/image calculator—which is what I had thought beforehand based on articles like ChatGPT is a Blurry JPEG of the Web.

In this special rush release episode of The Carousel, I’m joined by legendary movie impresario Hadrian Belove.
Some refer to Hadrian as “the original cancelled man” due to his absurd banishment from CineFamily—the notorious, celebrity-studded LA film enjoyment club—at the cusp of MeToo. Wrong place, wrong time.
But we’re not here to talk about the past. Hadrian was in part responsible for planning this year’s Urbit Assembly in Lisbon, which wrapped last week. In doing so, he brought in KIRAC (Keeping It Real Art Critics) to intermingle with the digital sovereignty nerds that populate the Urbit ecosystem.
KIRAC is a troupe of Dutch YouTube tricksters (although they hate being called that) that mock and interrogate the intelligentsia with brutal honesty, or, more accurately, honest brutality. They’re infamous for persuading Michel Houellebecq to appear in a porn. In response, the world’s greatest writer flipped out, filing a lawsuit blocking release, and writing a whole book about it.
KIRAC is at its best when it’s doing art world subversion. You really fall in love with them when you watch “Stigma,” where Kate Sinha, wife of main-guy Stefan Ruitenbeek, calls an awful diversity artist a “spoiled b***h,” and we get to witness the subsequent struggle session in front of the Dutch art establishment.
However, like Borat and Sam Hyde before them, KIRAC reaches uncomfortable levels of trollishness. See e.g. “Honeypot,” in which they get one of their groupies to have sex with a right wing philosopher—or at least that’s the set up before she rejects him for being “an oaf.”

Meet anon Alaric the Barbarian, founder of Dissident Review, publisher of genuinely dissident thought in many forms. One his projects is buying “banned” books and republishing them, making them readily available for sale.
He recently republished My Confession, by Samuel Chamberlain, a brutal and honest first-person non-fiction account of a cowboy killing people and scalping Indians for pay during and after the Mexican War of 1846-48. My Confession is the basis for Blood Meridian, but it’s original version had been largely lost to the public. A watered-down milquetoast edition was published in its place. But Alaric crowdsourced the costly purchase of an original edition, including Chamberlain’s drawings, and republished it. It is now available on Amazon.

I’m joined by based Twitter friend and Israeli Settler Baruch Kogan. One of my favorite accounts, his wry commentary always makes me laugh. He's also a fascinating dude; he lives in a small Jewish settlement on a hill in Samaria, where he is currently posted up, attempting to better arm himself while protecting his family, and refusing to run away or back down.
He says that this is the most significant Israel incursion in two decades, and will have major implications for the current Israeli government and the world. How did this happen, and why now? He answers everything in the episode.

Another day another based founder. Matt Loberstein built Rhizal Shoes, a “grounded” and “barefoot” shoe company after getting sick of shilling white label DTC crap and wanting to create something actually beautiful.
His shoes are the very definition of Anti-Synthetic Capitalism, the term now memorialized via The New York Timesarticle which referenced WILL, Hestia Cigarettes, and I.
We also call the movement “The New Natural.”
The brand name Rhizal comes from micorrhizal/rhizome, symbiotic relationship between roots, plants, fungi, and the earth.
The “Barefoot” footwear movement revives simpler shoe structures; it believes in enhancing muscles, bones, and balance via more direct contact with the ground.
The similar-but-distinct “Grounded” footwear movement ups the ante even further, citing electromagnetic reasons for direct terrestrial contact. Encasing feet in thick rubber is somewhat like a wearing a perennial foot condom we never take off. It separates from earthy natural connections that we’ve only just begun to understand.

Welcome entrepreneur Charles Mayfield to The Carousel. His skincare company Farrow uses an unprecedented and borderline forgotten substance as its key ingredient: pig lard.
Rubbing ultra high-end pig fat on our faces sounds insane only because we’ve been so utterly alienated from the natural animal products that used to dominate our lives. They’ve since been replaced by synthetic chemicals that are cheap to make, but expensive to our bodies. Mayfield explains that synthetic lotions came to exist in the first place only because humans stopped handling animal guts on a daily basis.
But animal organs and fats are making a comeback. The “New Natural” movement has organs showing up in Erewhon smoothies, tortilla chips made with beef tallow instead of seed oils, and in the TikTok feeds of organ-shilling influencers like Paul Saladino.
Zero Hedge recently interviewed me about this topic.
And I’ll tell you something from personal experience: these products really are better than the synthetic crap. Paul McNiel is the man behind Wagon Box, a “network state” project in Wyoming.
He essentially “bought” a town, and is now retrofitting it as a parallel-economy destination DAO for dissidents and other breeds of opt-outers who want nothing to do with mainstream society. The values of the project are pro-local, anti-corporatist, and anti-elitist: the polar opposite of everything Jackson Hole has become. That being said, he’s well-aware of the prospect of becoming just the type of parachuter he seeks to resist.
He and I were both featured prominently in James Pogue's Vanity Fair exploration of the so-called Dissident Fringe.
“I drove north toward Montana, where I visited with a man named Paul McNiel, whom I’d first met back during the fervid summer of 2020, at a Fourth of July picnic and anti-government rally headlined “Rage Against the State.” “I think that Livingston has the highest per-capita concentration of contributors to The New Yorker of any city in America,” he’d said when I introduced myself as a writer. McNiel is extraordinarily well read, and friendly with a number of literary types. He is a bit of a prepper, and while he is deeply Christian, he doesn’t consider himself right wing. “I don’t think the division is right-left anymore. It’s us against the machine,” he said, borrowing a phrase from the English writer Paul Kingsnorth—whose writings critiquing the power of tech and money in modern life have become popular among dissident types. He was dismissive of the local armed groups being flooded with new members. “At the end of the day,” he said, “if you’re not willing to shoot federal agents, then you’re not serious about it. They aren’t serious.”
McNiel had served in Afghanistan after college, and when he left the military, he’d taken out an almost unbelievable amount of debt, largely on credit cards, so that he could get himself in the position of buying his crown jewel, a trailer park in the small town of Belgrade, Montana, just outside of Bozeman. He now owned trailer parks as far away as Alaska. He had ridden the wave. “I always tell myself: No more deals. I want to stop, and I know I have to. But I can’t.”
We discuss how not to become another Jackson Hole, his background as a trailer park magnate, and his experiences as a combat veteran in Afghanistan.

Alex Garner tweets as Alexander the Great. It’s a fitting name, because he reminds me of a roman legion commander, perhaps the modern Miami version.
A former Coca Cola employee and founder of the mixed-cocktail brand Yumix, he’s obsessed with the notions of tribes in today’s online/offline world. How do you evaluate someone’s character if you can’t see them in person? But how do you meet anyone interesting if everyone interesting is on Twitter? As Indian Bronson pointed out, and as I have personally experienced (with Indian Bronson himself), is that people in our world all have two names.
Alex and I discuss his project Guild of Greats (formerly Based Brotherhood), an attempt to build a tribe of high quality men manifested outside the mainstream. Designed to bring about a new sort of greatness.
The mission echoes other similar projects like Palestra Society and Exit Group, the latter of which I discussed with founder on an earlier episode.
There is an overwhelming craving for war bands that can form and occupy islands outside the polluted mainstream. Then to use those islands to build both alternative economies and to use as launching points for raiding missions against the seemingly unassailable forces of globalism. This project necessarily implicates capitalism itself, as entrepreneurships is one of the few areas where genuinely dissident activities are still allowed (just ask Dissident Soaps). The only way to beat them is to outsell them.
A defector from the corporatocracy—a CPG cowboy, if you will—Alex sees tribal formation as the only way out. He talks about how to build both groups of men and the pipelines we need to support them.

On episode 52 of the Carousel, I’m joined by David Pinsen from one of my favorite publications: Zero Hedge.
A finance guy, Pinsen covers the ins-and-outs of world affairs from an investor’s perspective. His column Portfolio Armor deftly combines culture and politics with economic predictions and outlooks, a mixture which I’ve always found to be the best method for understanding why things are happening. As Western culture declines, and the media (even my beloved Wall Street Journal) right along with it, I look to people like Pinsen and publications like Zero Hedge to get the real story.
So he’s the perfect guy to chat with about the financial picture behind the Bud Light fiasco. He published a couple stories featuring quotes from me about the issue including “How I’d Save Bud Light,” about how to rehabilitate the brand’s relatable image. Interestingly, our perspectives were born out as accurate, as today Bud Light launched a summer campaign all about relatability.
Also per our predictions, the AB InBev longhouse turned a decent strategy into an incoherent mess, insulting audiences even further by painting them as fat bumbling idiots. “Sock tans included…” Oh, because white people get sock tans. Is that it?

By now you’ve seen the video of Armenian dads fighting Antifa on the streets of Glendale. If you’re curious about why, listen to this calm and rational Armenian mom describe how the school indoctrinates her children with extreme gender ideology. Lomez. The name alone sends shivers of fear up the spines of our enemies. A leader of the culture wars, he founded of Passage Publishing, a top publisher in the dissident sphere and facilitator of the Passage Prize, our version of the Pulitzer.

Cancelled fine artist Arthur Kwon Lee has one of the best "coming out as based” stories I’ve ever heard.
At the top of the art game in New York, represented by all the right people and having followed art world cursus honorum perfectly, he sits at a table with a diverse group of artists and a typical gatekeeper harridan in charge of shilling their work to her silver spoon rolodex of wealthy friends.
She proposes that he partner with a black artist for a BLM meets Stop Asian Hate crossover classic, certain to sell among her elite client list. He initially resists, stating that his art has nothing to do with his Korean identity; it’s more focused on traditional notions of beauty, strength, and power. He call himself “roof Korean numero uno,” a reference to my all time favorite aesthetic subculture.
“No trust me, it’ll be perfect!” she says, “everyone will love it!”

Today we have Inez Stepman, a thinker I discovered recently and am incredibly impressed by. Her gender analysis is rooted in Red Pill theory—she admittedly came up reading Chateau Heartiste—and she’s the first woman I’ve ever heard bring up the concept of hypergamy.
She joins Peachy Keenan and Aimee Therese on the Mount Rushmore of Female Dissident Right (FDR), although I’m not sure she would agree with this characterization. She’s got a JD from UVA and now works for the Independent Women’s Forum, a right-leaning think tank which recently filed an amicus brief arguing against the U.S. Women’s Soccer absurd pay discrimination lawsuit.

Two important legal stories (besides the Trump indictment) came to the fore this week, and no one better to explain them than bodybuilder, Twitter anon, and high-powered attorney Ash.
First, the political prosecution of of Douglas Mackey (AKA Ricky Vaughn) reached its third day of deliberations, with the jury receiving an Allen Charge—intense pressure from the judge to reach a verdict—on Wednesday. Mackey is on trial for sharing a joke meme encouraging Hillary Clinton supporters to “vote by text” during 2016 election. Despite many Dems making the exact same joke, encouraging Trump supporters to vote by text, Mackey faces prosecution in federal court while no Democrats face the same.
*UPDATE: Just moments ago, the news broke that Mackey has been found guilty.*
Second, text of the RESTRICT Act (Senate Bill 686) has been released to widespread accusations of government overreach. It gives the state unprecedented power to control online speech via prosecution of private citizens—which is why Ash and others describe it as Gen Z’s Patriot Act.
The bill, backed by both parties, ostensibly seeks to gird national security against the looming TikTok threat. In practice, however, the bill will provide a regime now known for political prosecutions with carte blanche to pursue more rebel speakers like Mackey.
Here’s a viral thread from Grill Time clearly and simply explaining the provisions of SB 686, and why they amount to obvious overreach.

Fantastic video essayist, podcaster, and conversationalist, Last Things analyzes our broken culture via popular movies and TV. His beliefs that "horror is fundamentally right wing" and that "the left can't see, the right can't speak," have become insightful memes.

A famous Mormon Twitter anon, he was doxxed by a "ring" of activists and fired from his prestigious consulting job. The doxxers drew out the process for maximum pain, revealing all sorts of personal information and aiming for total destruction of a man for nothing but a few humorous sh*tposts.
They did not succeed. Dolan responded by founding Exit, a group for men working to build careers and families outside the mainstream economy. And it's working. Who wants to constantly bow? Who wants to constantly censor themselves for fear of targeted financial destruction?

The overwhelming question I want to ask when reading your stuff is at what moment did this RW consciousness begin in you? How did it form and develop? Were you an outcast? Or always sort of having an inner and outer perspective?

Your writing is smart and punchy, clever and full of perfect stats and insights said in the perfect way. Was this a skill you honed? Or does this stuff just come out naturally. Did being a copywriter help (not sure if you want to mention this).
Ex: “My name is Peachy Keenan, and I am a domestic extremist. Unless you feel violently threatened by monogamous breeding pairs or large families, my use of the term “domestic extremist” has exactly zero to do with violence. You can call off the no-knock raid. How do we keep it from seeming like we’re just complaining all the time?
What I mean is, how do we differentiate between reaction against versus an idea that’s springing from the natural way things should be? This “satanic elites” stuff can start to get exhausting after awhile, even if it’s entirely true.
Ex: “Guess what? You already know what to do! To become a domestic extremist, all one must do is listen closely for the ancestral longings that lurk in the heart of every human being. As you listen, dormant instincts may rouse themselves from slumber. Pay attention to them—they will lead you out of the barren wasteland that stretches before us!”
You’ve talked about our current society having lost the purpose of being a woman. What do you mean by that? What is the role of a female creator in our world?

Mr. Corner is known for his series on “Literally Me” films—movies with sigma male protagonists whose refusal to play along with the absurd morality of a broken world resonates with young men. “That character is, like, literally me!”
We discuss the trend of populist “eat the rich” films. In my recent Substack, The Rise of the Populist Genre Film, I attempted to name this micro-genre Populist Death Match.
We examine three films from 2022, The Menu, Triangle of Sadness, and Glass Onion, all of which contain remarkably similar attempts to embody populist sensibilities. Two of those films contain a central cheeseburger metaphor, which Kino identifies while eating an In-N-Out burger.
These films join other recent hits like Squid Game, Hunger Games, and Black Mirror in depicting a rigged game where the common folk are pitted against each other in a fight for their lives. And where the elites, laughing from behind two-way mirrors, deserve to die.

The book follows a lapsed super-soldier traveling across a post-apocalyptic America divided east versus west, libertarian corporate versus woke neoliberal. The protagonist has been stuck in an eternally “on” position, which makes him emotionless but powerful—which I took as a metaphor for autism.
I highly recommend this book. It makes for a fascinating, exciting, and even indulgent holiday read. A real page turner!

On the week’s The Carousel Podcast, I’m happy to welcome my favorite political writer of the moment, Twitter anon Lafayette Lee. Our lengthy and wonderful discussion covers patriotism, political strategy, and of course the recent Nick Fuentes, Kanye West, Milo, Tim Pool debacle, as well as the larger Trump and DeSantis discussion (notice I’m not saying Trump v. But, a quick bit of HOUSEKEEPING (kill me please), as things are going to change a bit for The Carousel Podcast. After twenty or so episodes of experimentation, I’m getting a feel for the pod’s niche and my strenfs as a podcaster. Given my legal and journalistic backgrounds, as well as my general lack of emotion and boredom with small talk, I’ve found my questions to be more cutting than other podcasters. My prior prep usually takes outline format, almost like something a prosecutor would prepare before deposing a witness, except guided by genuine curiosity about my guests’ prior work versus their tortious behavior. Thus my convos are generally more efficient and to the point, calling for my guests to smooth out the folds in their thinking.
To that end, episodes will be reframed as interrogations. I’ll be reducing the amount of namby pamby and a**-kissing, and diving straight into targeted questions about guests’ work. I’ll aim to keep episodes under an hour (which I failed to do with this episode). Also, as the podcast description, I’ll be sharing my very law school-esque outlines I create before each episode. On episode 21 of The Carousel podcast, I’m joined by Pavel Fuksa, an award-winning Prague-based art director and illustrator who’s worked at Saatchi, J Walter Thompson, and Y&R. He now runs his own design studio.
We cover the European advertising world and how it’s handling the woke takeover, particularly with regard to the World Cup which starts on Sunday.
Islamic theocracy Qatar remains infamous for just the kind of human rights abuses involving women, homosexuality, and slave labor that woke global brands/agencies supposedly stand against. Thus we see teams taking actions, like Denmark kit maker Hummel reducing its nationalist branding because “Denmark doesn’t want to be seen” in Qatar, or USMNT switching from American colors to the rainbow flag, which is, in my view, the perfect symbol of globalism’s triumph over nationalism.
However, the gay flag won’t actually appear on US jerseys. It will “merely be displayed at U.S. Soccer controlled areas, such as at night-before parties,” perhaps an even better symbol for the emptiness of World Cup virtue signaling. Not a single country or brand was willing to go beyond fidgeting with its logos or letter writing to boycotting the event, which could be just as much a globalist calculation (an opportunity to further indoctrinate the global South) as a capitalist one.

On episode 20 of The Carousel podcast, I’m joined by Dan Baltic, author of the new novel Nutcrankr, released just yesterday by Terror House Press. He’s also the host of the fantastic New Write podcast and a hell of a shitpoaster in his own right.
Dan and I have quite a bit of overlap, being both trained lawyers and lapsed progressive half-Jews raised secular, who found our way to dissidence after a few sad attempts at professional writing via appropriate channels.
Nutcrankr is satire. Ittells the tale of Spencer Grunhauer, a pathetic frog whose reality never quite seems to match up with what’s going on in his mind. I’ll leave most of my review to the episode, besides to say that I found it to be a unique, titillating, and thoroughly readable cultural artifact. A mirror of today’s clown world—even when the biggest clown is the protagonist himself.

It’s inspired by Julius Evola, the controversial vitalist philosopher whose work has recently resurged among young men seeking meaning and purpose in their lives.
Specifically, the video draws from Evola’s Meditations on the Peaks, a series of essays about finding heroism and transcendence in mountain climbing published between 1930-1942. In his script and direction for the video, Propane 2001 built on Evola’s thinking to answer the question of what sort of peaks provide heroic potential today.

Because for millennia, there were only six types of tabletop games: dice, miniatures, boards, tiles, cards, pen-and-paper. In 1972, a group of oddballs sitting around a table in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin gave birth to a seventh type: the role playing game. Not only did it change gaming—and later video gaming—forever, but its fantasy-fandom ecosystem defines global popular culture today. It’s almost impossible to understate D&D’s impact on the world.
Yet somehow, the story of how Dungeons and Dragons came to be—and how it blew up the lives of the nerds who created it—has never been properly told in the mainstream. Matt Forney. A name you’ve probably heard before. A dabbler in thought crime since 2012, Forney has been canceled many times including by the Southern Poverty Law Center, a mark of certain distinction.
Today, he’s largely disavowed his past and re-dedicated his life to more serious literary pursuits. He runs Terror House Press, a top publisher of dissident writing. He publishes sordid poetry about his adventures; a chapbook Sex Pest is forthcoming.

In the mid-2010s, university branding became popular. Schools signed multi-million dollar contracts with agencies who promised to excite prospective students with brand work radically different from the boring old “three and a tree.”
Sometimes these rebrands went smoothly. Nike, for example, first overhauled Oregon State’s brand (athletics only) in 2013. It was refreshed even more by Pentagram and Ologie in 2017, who gave it a new look and the tagline “Out There.” The project cost roughly half a million dollars. OSU stakeholders received it well. Attendance crept upwards after its unveiling, and the brand remains in place today.
Oregon University experienced the exact opposite. It attempted a rebrand in 2016 with the new slogan “We If,” more suitable for a bad Silicon Valley startup than an established University. Students, boosters, and alumni revolted, calling it vague, naive, and disrespectful to school tradition. OU had no choice but to cut ties with its branding agency early…but not before wasting $5 million on the project…

As a raw milk drinker, I try to avoid pasteurized milk in my coffee. Oat milk so effectively replaced it, there had to be a catch. Indeed there was. Spin around a box of Oat Drink Barista Edition and you’ll find it’s made of rapeseed oil, AKA canola oil.
Imagine guzzling canola oil straight from the bottle—totally disgusting, no matter how cute Oatly’s copywriting might be. Originally developed as engine lubricants, seed oils like soybean oil, corn oil, rapeseed oil, grapeseed oil, cottonseed oil, safflower oil, sunflower oil are unhealthy for many reasons.
Once you’ve been redpilled, the rabbit hole goes deep. At a bar in Athens a couple of years ago, I talked with a guy who sold industrial seed oil expellers. He explained that expellers are responsible for all the soy cake and seed oil that form the basis of globalist serf cuisine—“sustainable” meat and cheese replicas we’re supposed to eat to show how much we care. Business was booming.
The soy boy concept owes a lot to expeller pressed seed oils, as does “You WILL eat the bugs,” a mocking rallying cry against the World Economic Forum’s apparent plan to preserve “our global resources”—like meat, oil, and land—so the elites can have more of them.
Among the poison and propaganda, a hero arose. Last November, a young doctoral resident created a Twitter account. As a budding doctor already obsessed with the seed oil problem, he had toyed around with memes before.
“I had made the decision for myself that seed oils were going to be my main intervention,” says Twitter influencer Seed Oil Disrespecter. “This is the most significant change in diet. This is the primary food change that has led to so much disease and this is what I need to do for myself and for my wife and my daughter. And then I saw it hit Twitter.”
It was time to enter the fray.
“A lot of people were making accounts saying, ‘Oh I'm a hiking enjoyer and I'm a nature respecter.’ So I just married the two and wrote Seed Oil Disrespecter. And within the first 24 hours I had 1000 followers. I was like, ‘Oh wow, this is branding!’”
As his meme-craft improved, Seed Oil Disrespecter’s account grew past 40k followers. Vice, propaganda spreaders on behalf of those who want us to eat the bugs, of course painted him as a paranoid conspiracy theorist. Katherine Dee covered him in Unherd, and Killstream had him on as a guest. His wife built a following as Healthy Oil Respecter, offering a more normie-fied, mommy-blogger version of the same message.
On Killstream, he admitted to being vaxxed and having heterodox politics, which disappointed some factions of his growing following. Rumors started that he was in fact a corporate shill; an astroturfer for Silicon-Valley-insider startup Zero Acre Farms. Zero Acre Farms— “Let’s Give the World an Oil Change”—plans to disrupt big seed oil with creepy fermented oil of its own (the exact product details remain unclear). Did Seed Oil Disrespecter hijack the authentic anti-seed oil movement on behalf of the very corporate overlords it opposed?
I ask about these accusations and much more during the second episode of The Carousel podcast. I will admit that the audio is worse than seed oils because I’m still working on my setup. So if you can’t stand it and want to skip to the part where he talks about how to spread your message, it’s at about 42:00. And here’s his advice in easy-to-digest listicle form:
How to spread your message according to Seed Oil Disrespecter!
Hijack Humor. “What are people already laughing at? Be new and funny. The -er at the end of Disrespecter is kind of wrong. Having little mistakes here and there is funny [right now].”
Move with the Memes. “Memes are punk rock. Make sure you're not too stale and always switch things up. I'm a meme guy, so what do I do? I just steal other memes and reword them. Or I think of something new. It's very simple stuff.”
Use the In Between Times. “I do it in between things. You just look at your phone, I look at memes, I see one and I go, "Ooh, I can change that to a seed oil meme." I do it. I repost it. Done. It'll be minutes.”
Save Raw Materials. “As a meme person, I always save raw materials. I’m always thinking, oh, I can use that later. You just download it and open it in the Photoshop Express app.”
Make it Sticky. “Is it something that people remember? Does it stick to the wall? Seed
Oil Disrespect is a sticky name, it's funny. But the more you look into it, you're like, holy s**t, it's true. People around the world are saying, ‘Disrespecting seed oils,’ and they might not even follow my account.”
Build a Squad. “My wife knows nothing about Twitter, right? She's not a meme war veteran and she doesn't get Pepe. We're married a little over 15 years. That first year of marriage, we were like buying vegetarian Morning Star nuggets and trying all sorts of different stuff. But within a year or so we learned about paleo, right? So that first year of marriage, we made a lot of changes. So one of the big changes we made was changing the oils that we were eating, the fats. So I told her, I got this thing going on, right? My Twitter is exploding. I was like ‘Hey, I'm the Seed Oil Disrespecter.’ She was always doing something on Instagram. Never anything too big. You know, you get 10 likes or whatever. Your bangers get 30. Because we were into this stuff, we're talking about this stuff, I was like, I'll make you an account. I said, Healthy Oil Respecter, but that was taken, or too long. So I was like, Real Oil Respecter. And it worked. So we both had these accounts, we're both doing it. And we just blew up.”
Make Lists: “We have the simple six [good oils], which is tallow, butter, ghee, coconut oil, real avocado oil, and real olive oil.”
Don’t Gatekeep: “I’m getting messages from people that are like, ‘Hey, you know, I'm not right-wing, and I've seen that the people are associating this with that.’ But you know, it's just food, right? And that's why I made posts today, like you can't gate keep this stuff.”
