Biography: For the past 11 years Mayia has used her voice to advocate for Albinism. She has presented her cause before school board officials, educators, program directors, organizations, and more. With the progression of her adjacent Chronic illnesses of Hypermobility Syndrome and Chronic Migraine Disease, she has used her voice to advocate in those areas as well.
3 years ago she started her YouTube journey performing arrangements of some of her favorite songs. Then at the end of December 2020, she made a decision that changed the trajectory of her channel and vocational aspirations. She decided to devote the entirety of her channel and creative resources to, Albinism, Invisible Chronic illness, and Disability Advocacy. Essentially this meant taking her life experiences as an advocate and as an individual and placing them on this platform. The goal is and has always been to impact people who live with these various circumstances while educating those who may not have such life experiences with Albinism, illness, and disability.
With each music video, podcast episode, spoken word piece, and the like, you will find one thing to be true. And that is despite the challenges of disability and illness, the mission is to live each day with aim of becoming better instead of bitter.
