Join a father (Rick), son (Tim), and daughter (Amanda) as they talk guitars, guitarists, and the music created. The three learn from each other and guitar legends on a podcast platform born from a world pandemic, hobbies new and old, and the joy of music.
Weird Al Yankovic is scheduled to come to town next year, but we aren’t going to be able to go. No one is more upset than Amanda, but Tim and Rick wouldn’t have minded a good concert either. Concert ticket prices are getting higher than ever and some companies are out there helping that drive. Rick shows off his new guitar and gives a sneak peak at what the “60 second song” could be.
Tim has been listening to some music with a classical undertone and has decided to learn bits and pieces. Unfortunately, his sausage fingers have been giving him some trouble. Rick offers up an easy little exercise to help get your hand noodles in shape. Rick, Tim, and Amanda talk briefly about a few artists they may or may not know that produce some finger picking good tunes and Amanda is back with some Music News.
In this episode, Tim, Rick, and Amanda get together to catch up on the status of a few guitar projects that Rick and Tim are working on.

You’ve been waiting for the Wheel of Musicians to land on Greta Van Fleet, and the time has arrived. Tim gives a little history of the band, talks about his experience at the Greta Van Fleet concert at the Iowa State Fair and provides a little experience with Loop Earplugs.
The Pandemic Guitar Podcast celebrates their two year anniversary by bringing on one of their favorite listeners and contributors back to the microphone to guest host this episode. You may remember Jon from an earlier episode of Guitar-pody. Jon brings a series of questions to the table that allows the listener a way to get to know the hosts of your favorite guitar and music related podcast a little better.
Tim and Rick visit the more technical side of guitar building during this episode. As they dig in a little deeper into building a neck they talk about tuners. They don’t have to cost a whole lot of money to be good. They also talk about the difficulties of podcasting. Tim realizes that there is more to our podcast than most deal with. Instead of paying a monthly fee for another company to host the RSS feed, he does it internally by doing his own hosting. Tim steals the next pick for the Wheel of Musicians due to an upcoming concert, and finally the two spend some time talking about what to expect over the next few episodes.

Tim, Rick and Amanda are back to talk about the 1986 movie, “Crossroads”. A movie about a young Bluesman who won a karate championship two years prior has learned to play the guitar in a classical manor achieving himself a full scholarship to Juilliard. That’s one hell of an achievement, but the devil has got a surprise. Oh and our audio is jacked up and sounds like we recorded right after the movies release party.

We've spent a few episodes quickly going over Pandemic Guitar's Project Guitar #1. It just made sense to make an episode that spends a little bit more time on each part of the process. Before we get into it, we talk about the recent Tay-Tay Ticket scandal and other recent music news.
Rick and Tim attended the Joe Bonamassa concert at the Civic Center in Des Moines, IA on November 13th, 2022. It was a concert that both had been impatiently waiting for. Every once in a while Pandemic Guitar Podcast will release an episode that tries to answer a legendary question and ultimately leave it unanswered thus producing a new volume of "Unsolved Questions". Volume 1 attempts to answer the age old question of how many guitars is to many to own. Is there a perfect number? We still don't know.

While surfing the internet Tim is always watching videos about guitars. Along the way he notices that there are a lot of guitarists comparing the difference between cheap and expensive guitars. This strikes the primary topic for episode three. Tim and Rick also announce the beginning of a series called, "Project Guitar".

While Tim was editing episode 1, Rick mentioned something about portable recording that peaked his interest. This inspires an entire episode on what it takes to sit in your Lazy Boy (not sponsored) and record some great licks. There's a lot of unneccesary name dropping involved but that's what you need if you want to relax and record outside of your home studio.
WHAT IS AN AMP SIMULATOR? An amp simulator simply emulates the sound of a guitar amplifier with digital technology using a Windows : VST2 or Mac : VST2, AU. They usually come as plugins. Sims will vary between manufacturer, but each one is designed try to give you an authentic guitar tone without the need for a ‘real’ amp.
