In this episode Liz chats about her new Accreditation as a Grief Counsellor specialising in Fertility and Surrogacy.
For so many of us that have gone through fertility treatments, gone through IVF, and then go onto surrogacy; we go through so many layers of grief.
Grief that our bodies are not being able to what we’ve been told they should do
Grief of multiple loss or any loss
Grief of all the “what if’s”
Grief of another failed treatment
Grief of stopping treatments
Grief of what is next
Grief of looking at surrogacy and struggling to come to terms with how that looks
Grief of perhaps using a donor program
Grief of not being able to carry
The feeling of failure; not only as a woman but men also.
Grief that we’ve failed our partner, families and society
Fertility grief is very real and not supported enough around the world. Let's open up the conversation and try and make a change.
