About a month ago, we met with our long time friends and had dined out on these wonderful platters of cold fish. The dinner was delicious, and it only set us back about $25/head. Not too bad for a thorough assortment of tuna parts.
Ulsan has a nice selection of seafood restaurants, and even after living in this city for nearly a decade, I find something new popping up.

Korean Mountain Climbing Ulsan South Korea Munsu Mountain (2019)
The adventure has finally come to a long awaited conclusion. Well long awaited by me at least. This was a very fun project. I have learned heaps in the process of making this video.
I do hope to continue learning and inventing as well as creating, new and exciting content about Korea. Who knows what the future will bring, but one thing is for sure, consistency will remain as is.

Climbing in Ulsan South Korea Munsu Temple Part 3 (2019).
The Munsu Mountain temple is quite small, but it offers everything that one needs from a temple visit located on a mountain. A breath taking view, and a coffee dispensing machine. Who could go without one.
It appears that this mini series is coming to a conclusion. The 4th episode, which will be uploaded soon, may just be the last one. Not the last vide obviously, just the last one in this series on climbing in South Korea. There are many more climbing videos coming but the walk down memory lane miniseries is a one of a kind, must watch. hehe.
Korean mountains aren't all that big, some may even refer to them as hills rather than mountains, but when you've lived in a place as long as I have, everything becomes relative. WE are planning on a move back to Canada next year. That should be a nice reversal culture shock experience for me.

"Climbing in Ulsan South Korea part 2. Climbing in Ulsan South Korea a trip down memory lane Part 2 (2019) is a sequel to my previously uploaded video climbing Munsu Mountain here in Ulsan. It was a fantastic climb and watching the video while adding music to it made me quite sentimental.
I am beginning to understand the value behind the making of movies, as well as the work and emotional involvement that goes into the videos. It takes time to really master the art of creative expression that can really portray the creators feelings and emotions."
I put the first two paragraphs in quotes as they come from a time long past. My journey through the creative process of video making has been a fun one, and although it has come to somewhat of a still stand at the moment, it is far from done. The only thing that's holding me back right now, really, is the time commitment required to edit videos. Presently, most of my time is devoted to the thing that many of us have to face each and every weekday, the often dreaded 9-5, as they call it although for me it's more like the 8:30-6~7.
None the less, here is another fabulous video, which I hope some of you watching will appreciate to some extent.

Climbing in Ulsan south Korea a trip down memory lane 2019, was inspired by my visit to Munsu mountain about a month ago. When I first arrived in Ulsan, I used to spend every single weekend up on the mountain, with a group of friends who loved the experience of just being out on the side of the mountain practicing their moves.
The climbing scene in Ulsan has been the most vibrant during those years, and from what I saw on this trip, it appears that there are no longer any expats who venture out to the side of the mountain.
While I would love to re-invigorate the climbing scene in the city, my time is limited as family and business keeps me busy, but I hope that this video brings some interest to the local expat community and maybe even encourage a few to head out for a climb once more.

The Lunar New Year in South Korea is a morphed form of the Chinese Lunar New Year which occurs at the same time, clearly with some additional cultural differences.
In this video, I give you a sneak peek into the household of a South Korean family, my South Korean family, which I hope will provide you with a rare look at the traditions practiced in the Korea culture.

Saturday was beautiful. The weather was simply great, and it would have been perfect if not for the slight layer of dust in the air.
We spent the afternoon bumming around the temple and Malli and Liam enjoyed the walk, surprisingly.
South Kroea was in the past a buddhist country, which changed with the invasion of christianity. Now the protestant faith dominates while buddhism comes in third place. But what the buddhist faith lacks in following it makes up in looks. Buddhist temples are a sight to behold here in South Korea and tend to occupy enough space to allow for leasurely strals for the visitors which makes it all worth wile.
The Bulguksa temple is one of the oldest buddhist temples here in South Korea if not THE oldest one in Korea.
Wikipedia summarises its presence in the following paragraph:
"Bulguksa is located on the slopes of Mount Toham. It is a head temple of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism and encompasses six National treasures of South Korea, including the Dabotap and Seokgatap stone pagodas, Cheongun-gyo, and two gilt-bronze statues of Buddha"

I was told that there are only a 3 or 4 of these places in all of South Korea and this particular one happens to be right under our noses, just outside of Gyeongju.
Located in a quiet and calm place, this Tea House is a perfect place to relax and enjoy a piece of Korean tradition. The tea itself is questionably flavorful, but if you are looking for a kick of healthines, then this may be the thing. It definitely tastes like it should be good for you.
