On October 4th 2018 the Haida Gwaii Teachers Association hosted the All-Candidates forum at Gidgalang Kuuyas Naay for municipal and trustee elections for the Queen Charlotte and Sandspit area. The school board trustee forum, followed by the mayoral and municipal council candidates forums were broadcast by Haida Gwaii Radio.

UBC Faculty of Forestry PhD candidate and former HGHES instructor Ngaio Hotte interviewed more than thirty people who have been involved in government-to-government relationships focused on the lands and waters of Haida Gwaii to hear what they thought were the most important things needed to build trust.
