Swee Kee started out as a restaurant in Great World Amusement Park in 1939. It eventually settled in Amoy Street for 25 years before closing down in May 2021. Today, Swee Kee’s sister restaurant Ka-Soh is run by Cedric Tang, grandson of founder Tang Kwong Swee.

Chan Koon Song started a small bookbinding workshop in 1942. Today, his granddaughter Winnie Chan is continuing his legacy with her retail brand Bynd Artisan, which has introduced bookbinding and paper crafts to a new generation of customers.

Tan Peng Kheok established Prince’s Flower Shop in 1966, and, subsequently, Prince’s Landscape and Construction, which won contracts to landscape Sentosa, Changi Airport and others. His grandson Gladwin, 26, was not keen to enter the family business at first but is now ramping up the company's online footprint.

Taiwanese property tycoon CS Hwang founded the Chyau Fwu Group in the 1950s. The business has since expanded all over the world.
