He died on (date) in (location) while having sex and after a long battle with hole number 16 on the Vinoy golf course and left behind his outstanding wife and life partner Terri Laxton, daughter Tiffany Laxton, sons-in-law Caleb Caldwell and Dave Bolin, mother Charlotte Ann Keetly Donnally Pauley, father William Thomas (Tom) Donnally and truly wonderful step-mother Kay (just plane K) Lyons Donnally, four grandchildren Colton Bolin, Ivy Bolin, Duke Caldwell and Kaiser Caldwell, niece Kaitlin Maryann Donnally and brother Michael Thomas (named after his father who is just like him) Donnally and sister-in-law Angie Spence Donnally.
Graduated from Barboursville High School in 1982 and Marshall University in 1991, he flourished in public accounting with Hayflich (and Steinberg) CPAs before joining the Glockner Family of Businesses in Portsmouth Ohio in 1996. His resume at linkedin.com/in/jimdonnally was long and self-serving, but he made lists and made efforts. Despite his financial successes, he made many more mistakes and poor choices. He loved freedom, traveling, CrossFit, winning (and being on teams of winners), people, the arts and his dog, Madi. He was not a particularly good son, brother, husband, father nor grandfather, but he loved them all. He was an okay employee and co-worker and enjoyed reading and writing. He was addicted to venture risk and was passionate about capital flows. He played on many golf courses that exceeded his ability, but especially enjoyed his golf and tennis memberships at Guyan Golf & Country Club, Spring Valley Country Club, Vinoy Golf & Country Club and Bellefonte Country Club. He also enjoyed his corporate membership at Portsmouth Spartan Kettlebell Club CrossFit affiliate. He was a long-time resident of the Glockner Locke and Dam 31 Resort and Spa in Lewis County (Firebrick) Kentucky (residing at different times in units 2, 4 and 5). He enjoyed a lock-and-leave lifestyle in Saint Petersburg Florida and Saint John’s Newfoundland Canada.
In lieu of sending anything to the family that they must dispose, contributions may be sent to The Glockner Family Foundation at P.O. Box 1308 Portsmouth, Ohio 45662.
Friends may drop in to celebrate his life at 206 Market Street Portsmouth, Ohio on Tuesday (date) from 5pm to 7pm. Admission at the door will be $40. Vendors known to him will receive a substantial discount. Large ballpark hotdogs will be served on heated buns with sauce, mustard, onions and/or ketchup with individual bags of chips and Doritos. Water, Bernie G. beer, wine and hard spirits will also be available, and guests may enjoy the good gin if they like. Name tags are required.
