¡Hola Gente Bella! Hace muchísimo tiempo no he tenido el placer de escribirles, muchos ya hasta me habrán olvidado. Y muchos otros a penas, a través de esta publicación, me estarán conociendo. Eso me hace pensar que, sería mejor hacer una presentación nuevamente jajaja, pero no seamos extremistas, aún estoy a tiempo de volver sin recibir tal disciplina.

Y como volver amerita algo bueno, hoy quiero que me acompañen a visitar un lugar muy bonito y tradicional, se trata de, Café Almagro. Este se encuentra ubicado frente al Parque Ecológico Las Vegas, en la ciudad de Portoviejo, provincia de Manabí, Ecuador.

Hello Beautiful People! It's been a long time since I've had the pleasure of writing to you, many of you may have already forgotten me. And many others are just getting to know me through this publication. That makes me think that it would be better to make a presentation again hahaha, but let's not be extremists, I'm still in time to return without receiving such discipline.

And as returning deserves something good, today I want you to join me to visit a very nice and traditional place, it is, Café Almagro. It is located in front of the Las Vegas Ecological Park, in the city of Portoviejo, province of Manabí, Ecuador.

Hace ya algún tiempo había querido visitar este lugar, pues amo las cafeterías, son de mis lugares favoritos. Ideales para compartir con amigos y familiares, o visitar solo en compañía de un buen libro, incluso ideales para redactar una buena publicación para Hive, en este caso hasta resulta inspirador escribir.

Pero debido a mi trabajo, muchas veces me es casi imposible disfrutar de lo que para mí, resulta ser uno de los placeres de la vida, las cafeterías. Debido a esto, también he estado ausente por acá. No ha sido fácil adaptar mis gustos al ritmo de mi trabajo, bien sea porque no me deja mucho tiempo libre, ni tampoco muchos ingresos jajaja. Lo cual lo hace algo complicado, más sin embargo uno siempre vuelve a los lugares donde se es feliz. Así que, ¡Aquí estamos de vuelta en casa! 😁

Retomando nuestra visita, en esta oportunidad me acompañó un buen amigo, Luis. Quien además en ocasiones hizo de fotógrafo, lo que fue de gran ayuda. Cómo era la primera vez en este lugar, revisamos todo el menú antes de decidir que pedir. La verdad es que había una gran variedad de platillos para degustar. No fue fácil pero, logramos escoger.

I had been wanting to visit this place for some time, because I love coffee shops, they are one of my favorite places. Ideal to share with friends and family, or visit alone with a good book, even ideal for writing a good publication for Hive, in this case it is even inspiring to write.

But due to my work, it is often almost impossible for me to enjoy what for me, turns out to be one of life's pleasures, coffee shops. Because of this, I have also been absent here. It has not been easy to adapt my tastes to the rhythm of my work, either because it does not leave me much free time, nor much income hahaha. Which makes it a bit complicated, but nevertheless one always returns to the places where one is happy. So, here we are back home! 😁

Returning to our visit, this time I was accompanied by a good friend, Luis. He also sometimes acted as photographer, which was a great help. As it was the first time in this place, we reviewed the entire menu before deciding what to order. The truth is that there was a great variety of dishes to taste. It was not easy, but we managed to choose.

En una pequeña parte de todo este menú, y para mí sorpresa, se encontraba un apartado con el título: Un Poco De Allá, Con Mucho De Aquí. ¿Y que creen? Está sección solo incluía, algunas arepas, entre ellas la más popular, nuestra sabrosa Reina Pepiada. Además de un par de brochetas. Por supuesto que no podía perder la oportunidad de probarlas y dar mi visto bueno.

Claro que amo las arepas y puedo prepararlas en casa, pero debía probar estás. Nos pedimos unas "Amazonas" que constan de 3 arepitas, ¡Así decía! Pero en realidad no eran tan pequeñas, y al final no pude comerme más que solo una. Estás eran, una Reina Pepiada, Una Peluda y una de Perico con Queso. Estaban buenas, a pesar de no ser muy fan de las arepas fritas, yo las prefiero asadas. Y adicionalmente venían acompañadas de tres salsas, la Rosada, la Guasacaca y un Aji para degustar mejor.

In a small part of this menu, and to my surprise, there was a section with the title: Un Poco De Allá, Con Mucho De Aquí. And what do you think? This section only included some arepas, among them the most popular, our tasty Reina Pepiada. Plus a couple of skewers. Of course I couldn't miss the opportunity to try them and give my approval.

Of course I love arepas and I can prepare them at home, but I had to try these. We ordered some "Amazonas" which consist of 3 arepitas, so I said! But they weren't really that small, and in the end I couldn't eat more than just one. These were a Reina Pepiada, Una Peluda and a Perico con Queso. They were good, even though I'm not a fan of fried arepas, I prefer them grilled. And additionally they came with three sauces, the Rosada, the Guasacaca and an Aji to taste better.

En cuanto a gastronomía ecuatoriana nos pedimos un Trío de Empanadas de Verde, es una masa que hacen de plátano verde, así es como son las empanadas de acá. Estás estaban rellenas de pollo, se notaban muy frescas y buenas, además que el ají les aportaba un toque extra de sabor, algo muy típico en estas tierras.

Adicional, y como postre, nos pedimos unos Boñuelos de Gato Encerrado, así es como se conocen aquí, es un plátano maduro recubierto con una masa de trigo y frito, pero en este caso contenían queso. Lo cual lo hacía muy distinto al típico Gato Encerrado. Tambien llevaba un toque de manjar y esto realzaba su dulce sabor, ¡Estaba buenísimo!

As for Ecuadorian gastronomy, we ordered a Trio of Green Empanadas, a dough made of green plantain, that's how the empanadas are made here. These were filled with chicken, they were very fresh and good, plus the chili added an extra touch of flavor, something very typical in these lands.

In addition, and for dessert, we ordered some Boñuelos de Gato Encerrado, that's how they are known here, it's a ripe plantain covered with a wheat dough and fried, but in this case it contained cheese. This made it very different from the typical Gato Encerrado. It also had a touch of manjar and this enhanced its sweet taste, it was delicious!

Para las bebidas, a pesar de la extensa variedad, como es normal en una cafetería, decidimos pedir una bebida caliente y otra fría, para variar. Luis optó por la bebida caliente y se pidió un Mocaccino, y pues yo pedí una bebida fría. Ambos nos inclinamos por probar su Limonada de Coco con Hierba Buena. Está es una bebida típica colombiana. Pero está tenía un toque de Hierba Buena, que para mí gusto le resta sabor al coco. Ya que anteriormente la he probado, pero en los restaurantes colombianos, y es una delicia.

For the drinks, despite the wide variety, as is normal in a cafeteria, we decided to order a hot and a cold drink for a change. Luis opted for the hot drink and ordered a Mocaccino, and I ordered a cold drink. We both opted to try their Coconut Lemonade with Hierba Buena. This is a typical Colombian drink. But this one had a touch of Hierba Buena, which to my taste detracted from the coconut flavor. I have tried it before, but in Colombian restaurants, and it is a delight.

Después de probar de todo un poco, llegamos a la conclusión unánime de que, el favorito de la noche, y que son los mejores que hemos probado; fueron, los Buñuelos de Gato Encerrado. Estaban riquísimos de verdad. Aquí es muy normal comer esto hasta en las playas, pero ciertamente en Café Almagro, hacen los mejores. De eso no quede duda.

After tasting a little bit of everything, we came to the unanimous conclusion that the favorite of the night, and that they are the best we have tasted, were the Buñuelos de Gato Encerrado. They were really delicious. Here it is very normal to eat this even on the beaches, but certainly in Café Almagro, they make the best ones. There is no doubt about that.

Café Almagro, además de su gran variedad de platillos para servirse, también tiene a favor una muy buena ubicación dentro de la ciudad, es de fácil acceso, además de estar junto a uno de los parques más concurridos por todos los portovejenses. A esto debemos sumarle el agradable ambiente musical que va en armonía con la decoración del lugar.

Pero como no todo es perfecto, tiene la desventaja en dos pequeñas cosas, bueno cabe aclarar principalmente, que es esto según mi criterio. Comenzaré por la atención, le doy un 7 de 10, ya que puede que a otras personas no les guste tanta amabilidad. He trabajado siempre con la atención al público, y nunca está de más sonreír un poco, eso además de ser algo amable, hace sentir más cómodo al cliente.

Café Almagro, in addition to its great variety of dishes to be served, also has a very good location within the city, it is easily accessible, besides being next to one of the most popular parks for all the locals. To this we must add the pleasant musical atmosphere that goes in harmony with the decoration of the place.

But as not everything is perfect, it has the disadvantage in two small things, well it should be clarified mainly, which is this according to my criteria. I'll start with the attention, I give it a 7 out of 10, since other people may not like so much kindness. I have always worked with customer service, and it never hurts to smile a little, that besides being something nice, makes the customer feel more comfortable.

Y lo más importante, sobretodo para una cafetería de esta categoría, el servicio higiénico. Dos cosas en desventaja para el Café, su ubicación, que está en la parte de afuera del mismo, por lo cual se debe salir de la Cafetería si se desea usar. Y que solo tiene uno, es decir que es tanto para damas como caballeros. O sea, no porque esto tenga algo de malo sino que hasta un MacDonald tiene baños separados, y en este caso estamos hablando de una cafetería elegante, de mayor rango, y aquí si juega un papel importante estos detalles. Punto a favor el baño tenía una buena decoración y estaba muy limpio.

Cómo decía, una cafetería de categoría elevada debe llenar ciertos requisitos, a esto se debe mi critica como desventajas del lugar. Finalmente, si volviera a visitarles si fuera posible, aunque cabe destacar que tengo como favoritas, otras Cafeterías. Igual fue una agradable visita a este lugar que está catalogado como, Resto Café Cultural. Y tiene los mejores buñuelos de Gato Encerrado que he probado aquí en Ecuador.

And the most important thing, especially for a cafeteria of this category, the hygienic service. Two things in disadvantage for the Café, its location, which is on the outside of it, so you must leave the Cafeteria if you want to use it. And that it only has one, that is to say that it is for both ladies and gentlemen. I mean, not because there is something wrong with this, but even a MacDonald's has separate bathrooms, and in this case we are talking about an elegant cafeteria, of a higher rank, and here these details do play an important role. On the plus side, the bathroom was nicely decorated and very clean.

As I was saying, a high-class cafeteria must meet certain requirements, which is the reason for my criticism as disadvantages of the place. Finally, if I were to visit them again if possible, although it should be noted that I have as favorites, other Cafeterias. It was still a pleasant visit to this place that is classified as a Cultural Café. And it has the best Gato Encerrado fritters that I have tasted here in Ecuador.

¡Hola Gente Bella! 🤗 Estos días han sido una locura, algo muy típico de estas fechas. Diciembre ha llegado y trae todo el corre corre de las fiestas navideñas. Aunque a estas alturas ya no es tan divertido como cuando éramos niños. 😥 Pero aún así siempre encontraremos ese momento divertido, o que recordaremos las siguientes navidades.

Éste mes encontré mi primer momento épico navideño junto a una personita hermosa a la cual amo inmenso, 🥰 todos ustedes ya la conocen, junto a ella ví mi primera película navideña de este año. 😜 Es un ritual que práctico todos los años desde mi infancia, ver todas esas películas navideñas, me hacen recordar que a pesar de las muchas ocupaciones del día a día, sí, estamos modo navideño. ☃️❄️

Hello Beautiful People! 🤗 These days have been crazy, something very typical of these dates. December has arrived and brings all the running around of Christmas parties. Although at this point it's not as much fun as it was when we were kids. 😥 But still we will always find that funny moment, or that we will remember the following Christmas.

This month I found my first epic Christmas moment next to a beautiful little person whom I love immensely, 🥰 you all already know her, next to her I watched my first Christmas movie this year. 😜 It's a ritual that I practice every year since my childhood, watching all those Christmas movies, they make me remember that despite the many occupations of everyday life, yes, we are in Christmas Mode. ☃️❄️

Y por si fuera poco mi pequeña y hermosa acompañante de hoy me dió está genial idea, ella quería que hiciéramos un videito juntas, y aquí está! 😁 Éste año no tendré muchos momentos épicos navideños, debido a las ocupaciones; así que debo aprovecharlos al máximo, y en esta ocasión, lo disfrutamos mucho. Ella es @ammy11 (Mi pollita), como siempre le he dicho. Hoy les traemos un pequeño resumen navideño.🎄

Ammy es mi sobrina, una de muchos, pero única como ella sola. 🥰 En esta etapa de su niñez soy la tía con la que más a compartido, debido a muchas circunstancias, me alegra poder formar parte de su vida, ya que considero que nuestra niñez es la etapa fundamental de todo ser humano. ☺️ Así que trato de guardar hermosos momentos como con todos mis sobrinos, siempre que pueda. 💞

Ammy is my niece, one of many, but unique as she is. 🥰 At this stage of her childhood I am the aunt with whom she has shared the most, due to many circumstances, I am happy to be part of her life, as I consider our childhood the fundamental stage of every human being ☺️ So I try to keep beautiful moments as with all my nieces and nephews, whenever I can. 💞

Ella aún no comprende la magnitud de la felicidad que siento, al poder tenerlos cerca en estás navidades, a ella y sus hermanitos. ☺️ También por ahí nos acompañaba Amelie, mi pitufina 💙 (como siempre) ☺️ Acá les comparto mi gran logró con ella, no fue fácil pero logré capturar una foto de Amelie con el gorrito navideño 🥵 ¡Quedó hermosa! 😍

Cómo les dije, está visita fue algo que se dió de pura casualidad, y lo disfruté mucho junto a mi familia; pero debíamos regresar a la ciudad. Lo cierto es que la pasamos increíble, disfrutamos mucho y me alegro poder ver todo lo que ha avanzado y se ha embellecido este pequeño rinconcito, que es tan emblemático para esta ciudad.

Espero si tienen la oportunidad de venir a esta parte del globo terráqueo, lo puedan visitar y disfrutar tanto como yo, e incluso hasta más. Deseo hayan disfrutado del recorrido (Si aún no has visto el vídeo, ¡Que esperás!), muchas gracias por acompañarme una vez más.

As I told you, this visit was something that happened by pure chance, and I enjoyed it very much with my family; but we had to return to the city. The truth is that we had an incredible time, we enjoyed a lot and I am glad to see how much progress has been made and how this little corner, which is so emblematic for this city, has been embellished.

¡Hola Gente Bella! Hoy quería compartir con ustedes este detallazo que llegó a mis manos hace un par de días. Un regalito de cumpleaños que, ¡me encantó! Además trajo una sorpresita adicional. Ésta señorita bella, se las ingenió para hacer algunas indagaciones sobre mis gustos y poderme dar este detallito totalmente personalizado, que diseño con sus propias manos. 🥰

This beautiful lady, managed to do some research about my tastes and to give me this totally personalized detail, which she designed with her own hands. 🥰

Desde el color, uno de mis favoritos. La frase, esa que siempre digo, con la que me identifico mucho. Cada detalle tomado en cuenta. Me encantan los regalos que son hechos como "anillo al dedo", esos que son inspirados en tus gustos, en las cosas que realmente amas. Porque dejan ver el esmero que otros colocan en conocerte realmente, en darte algo significativo para ti. Y eso es lo que los hace tan especial.

Además, ame ese detalle tan bello plasmado en mi hermosa adquisición. Tiene un significado realmente importante para mí. Ese que en cualquier momento, sea en el estado de ánimo que esté, me llena de tanta paz y felicidad. Así que siempre es bien recibido. Y eso le da mucho significado a la hermosa imágen plasmada de aquel abrazo que tanto amo.

From the color, one of my favorites. The phrase, that one I always say, with which I identify myself very much. Every detail taken into account. I love the gifts that are made as a "ring to the finger", those that are inspired by your tastes, by the things you really love. Because they let you see the care that others put into really getting to know you, into giving you something meaningful to you. And that's what makes them so special.

Also, I loved that beautiful detail on my beautiful purchase. It has a really important meaning for me. That one that at any time, whatever mood I'm in, fills me with so much peace and happiness. So it is always well received. And that gives a lot of meaning to the beautiful image of that hug that I love so much.

Y ustedes dirán; ¡Tanto alboroto por una taza! 😒 Jajaja, pues ¡Sí! Amo las tazas, porque amo el café, al punto de que nadie más usa mi taza (bueno en mi familia cada quien tiene su taza personal), a menos que de mi propia voluntad yo la preste, claro. Eso, y además por el hecho de que aprecio mucho todo el cariño contenido en este detallazo. Son cosas que realmente valoró.

Lo que Sugie no sabía, era que desde que salieron estás tazas mágicas, yo deseaba tener una. Generalmente estos gustos me los doy yo misma, y otras veces me los regalan. Bueno... nadie me lo había regalado aún 😜 Y por una y otra cosa, no me había como dedicado a comprarlo. Solo algo era seguro para mí, algún día la tendría. Pues sí, ¡ese día llegó!

Obviamente estaba muy emocionada con este regalito, esa misma noche use mi hermosa taza. Además como era de esperarse, saque muchas fotos y videos para "farandulear", ¡cómo siempre hago! Me divertí muchísimo haciendo todo ésto, espero que lo disfruten y hayan sentido toda mi emoción al compartirlo con ustedes.

I love mugs, because I love coffee, to the point that no one else uses my mug (well, in my family everyone has their own personal mug), unless of my own free will I lend it to them, of course. What Sugie didn't know, was that since these magic mugs came out, I wanted to have one. I usually treat myself, and sometimes I get them as a gift. Well... no one had gifted it to me yet 😜 And for one thing and another, I hadn't as yet dedicated myself to buying it. Only one thing was for sure for me, someday I would have it. Well yes, that day came!

Obviously I was very excited with this little gift, that same night I used my beautiful mug. As expected, I took a lot of pictures and videos to "show off", as I always do! I had so much fun doing all this, I hope you enjoyed it and felt all my excitement to share it with you.

Créanme, no soy alguien fácil de emocionar. Ni muy expresiva con esas cosas tampoco.

Pero, yo disfrutaré al máximo mi taza, desde ahora mi favorita. Y la cuidaré muy muy bien, sobretodo de una personita que pasa cerca de mí. Además tomaré en ella mucho café.

Believe me, I'm not someone easy to get excited about. Nor very expressive with those things either.

¡Hola Gente Bella! Hace poco estuve deleitándome con una de mis bebidas favoritas (y aunque a muchos les parezca loco), es el café 😍 De verdad que amo el café, y es a mí parecer una bebida infaltable en el día a día. Disfruto todo de él, cómo yo siempre digo el negrito que más amo, disfruto su aroma y sabor a cualquiera hora del día, pero especialmente en las mañanas. ¿Se han fijado que hay muchísimas formas de preparar un café? Tal vez sea la única bebida con tan variados tipos de preparación, quizás por esa misma razón es la más consumida mundialmente. Siempre quise ser barista, no como algo a qué dedicarme sino para mi propio disfrute. Y bueno sacarle provecho también en un futuro. Aún no lo he podido lograr pero, ¡definitivamente lo haré!

Hello Beautiful People! Recently I was enjoying one of my favorite drinks (and although it may seem crazy to many), it's coffee 😍 I really love coffee, and I think it's an essential drink in my day to day life. I enjoy everything about it, how I always say the black one I love the most, I enjoy its aroma and flavor at any time of the day, but especially in the mornings.

Have you noticed that there are so many ways to prepare coffee? Perhaps it is the only beverage with so many different types of preparation, perhaps for that very reason it is the most consumed beverage in the world. I always wanted to be a barista, not as something to dedicate myself to, but for my own enjoyment. And to make the most of it in the future. I haven't been able to achieve it yet, but I definitely will!

Bueno, resulta que mi hermana hace unos días me invitó a un evento que tendría lugar en la Cafetería Ruah Coffee, donde trabaja su amigo David (él sí es un barista de verdad). Para mí sorpresa, y sin ella saberlo quizás, era una Degustación y Cata de Café. Por supuesto desde el primer momento ame la idea. A ambas nos gusta el café pero en distintos niveles jajaja, ya descubrirán ¿por qué?

Well, it turns out that a few days ago my sister invited me to an event that would take place at Ruah Coffee, where her friend David works (he is a real barista). To my surprise, and perhaps unbeknownst to her, it was a Coffee Tasting and Cupping. Of course from the first moment I loved the idea. We both like coffee but in different levels hahaha, you will find out why?

Hacía mucho que deseaba ir a un evento así. Pero penosamente no somos un país con tan buena "cultura cafetera". Eso fue una de las cosas más difíciles a las que tuve que adaptarme al emigrar a Ecuador. Pero logré sobrevivir y sobreponerme, ¡me las idee! 😜

I had long wanted to go to an event like this. But unfortunately we are not a country with such a good "coffee culture". That was one of the hardest things I had to adapt to when I emigrated to Ecuador. But I managed to survive and get over it, I got the idea! 😜

En fin, el día había llegado y estaba muy emocionada. De entrada se sentía el aroma a café, y prometía ser de los buenos. Era un sitio muy acogedor, ya estaba casi lleno cuando llegamos. Faltaba poco para comenzar. Así que pudimos hacer de las nuestras (recopilar material) antes de que todo iniciará.

Anyway, the day had arrived and I was very excited. The aroma of coffee could be smelled right away, and it promised to be a good one. It was a very cozy place, and it was almost full when we arrived. It was almost full when we arrived. So we were able to do our thing (collect material) before everything started.

La bienvenida como era de esperarse, la dió David Zea el anfitrión del evento. Comenzó por explicarnos qué el café es mucho más que solo un grano, y que contiene muchos sabores y aromas que dependerán de cada aspecto de su fabricación, desde el cultivo hasta llegar a nosotros. La tierra en la que crece, cómo es tostado, molido y así. Todo un mundo de pequeñas cosas que logran crear un gran sabor. ¡Bueno al menos así lo veo yo!

As expected, the welcome was given by David Zea, the host of the event. He began by explaining that coffee is much more than just a bean, and that it contains many flavors and aromas that will depend on every aspect of its manufacture, from the cultivation until it reaches us. The soil in which it grows, how it is roasted, ground and so on. A whole world of little things that manage to create a great taste. Well, at least that's how I see it!

Nos decía que estarán participando en un evento, y era su deseo tener el apoyo por supuesto de las personas de su ciudad. Pero como muchos sabemos para lograr eso por completo es necesario un cambio en cuanto a la cultura. Algo complicado pero no imposible. Ellos en su intento, a mi parecer, lo están haciendo bien.

He told us that they will be participating in an event, and it was his wish to have the support of course of the people of his city. But as many of us know, in order to achieve this, it is necessary to change the culture. Something complicated but not impossible. In their attempt, in my opinion, they are doing well.

También nos presento a un pequeño pero muy interesante grupo de personas que formaban parte de este equipo cafetero como; el Sr. Carlos Plaza, Sr. Marlon y la Sra. Alicia (en el vídeo podrán conocer sus rasgos más relevantes). Ellos son personas dedicadas al café. Y aunque no todos realizan las mismas funciones, se relacionan entre si.

He also introduced us to a small but very interesting group of people that were part of this coffee team such as; Mr. Carlos Plaza, Mr. Marlon and Mrs. Alicia (in the video you will be able to know their most relevant traits). They are people dedicated to coffee. And although they do not all perform the same functions, they relate to each other.

Ellos nos presentaban los distintos tipos de café y las diferentes técnicas para filtrar y sacar lo mejor de cada grano molido. Principalmente su técnica estaba enfocada en el AeroExpres, pero también pudimos apreciar como se hacía en un V60 unido a una Prensa Francesa (la cual se ha hecho muy famosa últimamente, aunque no la sepamos ni usar correctamente) y a un Chemex (cafetera de orden alemán).

Estás técnicas de filtrado a mi parecer son de las más buenas para sentir la verdadera pureza de un café. Definitivamente tiene un mejor sabor. Y bueno mucho va a depender del tipo de café también. Por supuesto en un evento así, solo desfilaban los mejores de la zona.

They introduced us to the different types of coffee and the different techniques to filter and get the best out of each ground bean. Mainly their technique was focused on the AeroExpres, but we could also appreciate how it was done in a V60 attached to a French Press (which has become very famous lately, although we do not even know how to use it correctly) and a Chemex (German coffee maker).

These filtering techniques in my opinion are some of the best to feel the true purity of a coffee. It definitely has a better flavor. And well, much will depend on the type of coffee as well. Of course in an event like this, only the best in the area were on parade.

En total probamos de tres haciendas diferentes: La Prosperina, que se encuentra en Jipijapa, muy cerca de esta ciudad. Alicia Roque, ubicada en Bahía de Caráquez, también cerca. Y como invitado internacional, Herrera Café directamente desde Colombia. Si saben solo un poco de café, sabrán que solo provenir del País Cafetero ya habla muy bien de el. Todos emprendimientos que han sido forjados con mucho cariño y dedicación, ¡toda ésta gente de verdad ama el café!

In total we tasted from three different haciendas: La Prosperina, which is located in Jipijapa, very close to this city. Alicia Roque, located in Bahía de Caráquez, also nearby. And as an international guest, Herrera Café directly from Colombia. If you know just a little bit about coffee, you will know that just coming from the Coffee Country speaks very well of it. All of these enterprises have been forged with a lot of love and dedication, all these people really love coffee!

Se fijan en cada detalle, porque todo tiene gran importancia desde su cultivo, cómo la altitud en la que se ubica; tanto como al finalmente filtrarlo, aún en la pureza del agua con que se hace. Y todo esto determina que tan buen aroma y sabor tengamos contenido en una pequeña taza de café. Créanme, cuando les digo que hay mucho esfuerzo y cariño contenido en esas pequeñas tazas. ¡Aunque la mía es bastante grande siempre! ☕😁

They pay attention to every detail, because everything has great importance, from its cultivation, to the altitude in which it is located, as well as when it is finally filtered, even in the purity of the water with which it is made. And all this determines how good aroma and flavor we have contained in a small cup of coffee. Believe me, when I tell you that there is a lot of effort and affection contained in those small cups. although mine is always quite big! ☕😁

Pudimos además aprender como se hace una Catación de Café y que puntos o aspectos se toman en cuentan para deliverar y dar una puntuación a cada café. De todos los presentes solo uno era un Experto Catador, es decir un Catador Categorizado. Y por supuesto esto lo convertía en el más adecuado de todos nosotros en decir que tan bueno era cada café y poder definirlo a cada uno en cuanto a sabor y aroma. ¡Los demás éramos simples mortales!

We were also able to learn how a Coffee Tasting is done and what points or aspects are taken into account to deliver and give a score to each coffee. Of all those present only one was an Expert Cupper, that is to say a Categorized Cupper. And of course this made him the most appropriate of all of us to say how good each coffee was and to be able to define each one in terms of flavor and aroma. The rest of us were mere mortals!

Sin embargo algunos valientes nos atrevimos a intentar catar lo mejor que podíamos. ¡Por mi parte no tuve ninguna dificultad! Todo me salió perfecto. Bueno, al menos eso habría querido, y descubrir la gran Catadora que había en mí. Pero no fue así, no lograba ni hacer bien el sorbo. Jajaja. Si vieron el video lo habrán notado.

However, a few brave people dared to try to taste the best we could. For my part, I had no difficulty at all! Everything was perfect. Well, at least that's what I would have liked, and to discover the great taster in me. But it wasn't like that, I couldn't even get the sip right. Hahaha. If you saw the video you will have noticed it.

Lo cierto es que fue un momento muy agradable, aprendimos muchísimo. Descubrimos que no todos aman con la misma intensidad al café. Nos reímos bastante, nos encontramos con viejos amigos e hicimos otros nuevos. Fue una buena experiencia, muy bonita y agradable.

The truth is that it was a very pleasant moment, we learned a lot. We discovered that not everyone loves coffee with the same intensity. We laughed a lot, met old friends and made new ones. It was a good experience, very nice and pleasant.

Siempre me he considerado una amante del café, cosa que reafirmó después de esto. Amo el café caliente, fuerte y amargo (o sea con muy poca azúcar, a veces ni se porque le colocó). Y siempre he estado rodeada de personas, que aunque no lo toman como yo, afirman lo mismo, amar el café, no poder vivir sin él.

Bien, si es usted un amante del café, o al menos así lo creé, le motivo a que si de verdad lo quiere descubrir, vaya a una Degustación de Café; no ha una Cata porque probablemente solo vea a otros hacerlo, eso es solo para los calificados; pero sí todos podemos degustar.

I have always considered myself a coffee lover, which I reaffirmed after this. I love hot, strong and bitter coffee (that is, with very little sugar, sometimes I don't even know why I put it in). And I have always been surrounded by people who, although they don't drink it like me, affirm the same thing, love coffee, can't live without it.

Well, if you are a coffee lover, or at least I thought so, I encourage you, if you really want to discover it, to go to a Coffee Tasting; not a Tasting because you will probably only see others doing it, that is only for the qualified; but we can all taste it.

Llegué a la conclusión de que, si es usted un verdadero amante del café, le va a encantar haber probado un buen café. Pero si no es así, probablemente hasta le llegue a desagradar y no se sienta tan apasionado por él como se creía antes. ¡Sería muy interesante y divertido, se los aseguro! 😉

I came to the conclusion that, if you are a true coffee lover, you are going to love having tasted a good coffee. But if you're not, you'll probably even come to dislike it and you won't feel as passionate about it as you thought you were before. It would be very interesting and fun, I assure you! 😉
