From his Coach :He is a coaches dream, mature beyond his years. His fight IQ is way above average. The hardest thing for kids his age is coachability and unlike any other kid, he is very receptive, responsive, and coachable. It's like watching a little man wrestling on the mat. He has wrestled kids bigger than him and within a small amount time his technique, motivation, and persistent nature has been his biggest assets. What is unique about kids his age that win tournaments, many have cheat moves. A head and arm throw, brute strength. In time, kids like that start to lose against more technical wrestlers...and quit. He has none of those special advantages. At his core he is a basic fundamental wrestler and he is just going to get even better...Did I mention he is our cutest panda too?

The Border Wars Invitational was truly an amazing display of wrestling talent. As a parent and coach, I was blown away by the level of skill and athleticism on display. The competition was intense and every match was filled with high-energy, edge-of-your-seat action. The room was buzzing with excitement as the young wrestlers took to the mat and gave it their all.The level of expertise in this area is truly impressive. Each wrestler brought their own unique style and technique to the competition, making for a truly diverse and exciting tournament. The Class 2A District 2 Team Dual Championship was a nail-biter, with Lincoln High School ultimately claiming victory over Chiles High School with a final score of 37-36. As the champs of the district, Lincoln will now move on to the regional tournament to face off against Gulf Breeze and Fort Walton Beach. We caught up with Lincoln Coach Mike Crowder after the match to get his thoughts on the victory and what's next for his team.

The Class 2 District 1 Dual Tournament was a highly-anticipated event, with some of the best wrestling teams in the district vying for a spot in the regional tournament. In the end, it was the Gulf Breeze Dolphins who emerged as the top team, securing a hard-fought 47-29 victory over the Pace Patriots in the first place match. The Fort Walton Beach Vikings also put on a strong showing, securing a 48-21 victory over the Pace Patriots in the second place match to earn their spot in the regional tournament. The Niceville Eagles, Milton Wildcats, Tate Aggies, and Choctawatchee Indians all put up impressive fights, but ultimately fell short of securing a spot in the next round. The Gulf Breeze Dolphins and Fort Walton Beach Vikings will now move on to the regional tournament, ready to take on new challenges and continue their journey towards the state championships. The other teams will regroup and look to come back even stronger next year.The first battle between these two district rivals was a highly-anticipated and exciting event, and a second battle in the 22-23 season would surely be a treat for any wrestling fan. Both teams have proven themselves as formidable forces on the mat, and a rematch between them would no doubt be a hard-fought and intense showdown.Who will come out on top in a potential regional battle between Gulf Breeze and Fort Walton Beach? If that saying is true, James Reape really has sown a bounty of excellent wrestling in the state of Florida. For North Florida , Clay High School was the Boss everyone was training to beat. Coach Reape created a regional dynasty that was always among the top contenders for the State's top prize, training some of the most storied careers of for High School wrestling in Florida. I was very lucky to compete against him, and in one case, for him. This is a great episode in getting to know the man behind the Clay High Blue Devil Machine.
