I have a short + sweet episode for everyone today.
We are FALL-ing into a new season now that fall is here, and I want to talk about something extremely important–rest, sleep, + recovery. Now, you might be thinking “This isn’t the first time she’s talked about this” and you’re right! It’s not! And, it’s not going to be my last, either!
Everyone is looking for that quick fix to feel better, and we often look for it in the wrong places. I’m here to tell you (and many others who are WAY more qualified to talk about this than me) that your answer is REST + SLEEP. This is literally the best and only way your body can recover.
Key Takeaways:* Happy Fall!
* What is Rest?
* Traditional vs. Non-Traditional Self-Care
* The Importance of Sleep
Then, I’m ending the episode by asking you: “What is one goal you have for the fall when it comes to your rest or your sleep habits?”
Remember–rest + recovery should RETURN your energy, not continue to drain energy from you.
If you’re interested in the RISE Sleep app, check it out here.

About Charity Elliott:
Charity grew up in a family of entrepreneurs and knew from a young age that she wanted to be her own boss. When hit with an undiagnosable chronic illness at age fifteen, she made it her mission to learn everything she could about healing her body through nutrition and lifestyle changes. This led to working in a CrossFit gym for the next seven years until she decided to return to school for a diploma in nutrition, and subsequently, start Charity Elliott Nutrition & Fitness. About Kristine Munro:
Kristine Munro is the Founder and Intuitive Community Builder of The Illume Collective and the host of the Pivot to Passion podcast. Her journey started 15 years ago in Finance & Real Estate. She built a 7-Figure, award-winning business and though she had outward success and recognition, she felt unaligned, knowing deep down she was meant for more. Despite her fear, she left it all to start from scratch following her own heart and purpose. On her path of self-discovery, Kristine leaned into mind, body, and soul practices to tap into her own intuition which led her to find her passion for building a community for female entrepreneurs to connect on a deeper level, easy access to mentors and all the support they need to pursue their big dreams. Kristine is a certified Reiki Practitioner, and Life/Business Coach, mentoring women entrepreneurs to illuminate the fire within themselves and live out what they were meant to do. Kristine is a proud wife and mom of two. Her top priority is being a role model for them to show them that there are no limits to what they can achieve.
If you wish to solve all of your problems all at once, this episode is for you. This conversation has really come up often in my conversations with guests, loved ones, and friends recently, so I thought it was time to address it!
I wish I could snap my fingers and everything would be resolved and I would be “happy.” But, unfortunately, it just doesn’t work that way. Instead, maybe the REAL solution is shifting our perspectives to listen to the inner wisdom trying to guide us one step at a time–and we discuss what this looks like in this episode.
Key Takeaways:* August Intentions
* Solving problems all at once
* Listen to your inner wisdom
* One step at a time
* Staying in the present
If you want a copy of Brianna Wiest’s The Pivot Year, buy it here!
The passage from today’s episode is on Day 97 and it says: Your inner wisdom isn’t supposed to give you every answer to your entire life, but to show you to the next right step. You are not supposed to be able to intuit every turn the road may take, because that would defeat the entire purpose of being here; that would defeat the entire purpose of being alive. Nobody–not one of us–knows everything that might unfold. Our job is not to get better at predicting, projecting, or becoming attached to uncertain possibilities, but having sincere faith that what we know needs to happen next is the key that eventually unlocks everything we’ve been waiting for, everything we’ve ever wanted to be. - Brianna Wiest, The Pivot Year*

Key Takeaways:* Thoughts on Threads?

Happy Hump Day, gang!
Today, I’m back with another Tee Talk where I’m focusing on two topics: 1. The idea of life/work balance (yes, you read that right) 2. The country ranked #1 for work/life balance
The idea of life-work balance means that, maybe, we should stop putting the “work” part of work/life balance FIRST, and instead, put the “life” first! Interestinggggg - I talk about how this perspective can be game-changing for us!
Then, I talk about a brand-new study that came out recently that ranked the best countries for work/life balance. I tell you the top 10 rated countries, why it’s important, and what we can do about it.
Key Takeaways:* What is life/work balance?
* Global work/life balance
* Your perspective changes your experience
* Your controllables
You can’t control and change the world overnight, but you can control and change YOUR life/work. I end this episode with a new challenge for you that’s going to make difference in your life bucket–will you do it?!
If you want to read the article about Remote’s study on work/life balance, you can find it here.

About Whitney:
Whitney Mackenzie started with the Floreani Group in 2007 as Treatment Coordinator for Dr. Kent Floreani. She then moved up to office manager while the practice grew and welcomed 2 more Orthodontists, Dr. Michael O'Toole & Dr. Carly Dool. While on Maternity leave Whitney completed her bookkeeping certificate through Sault College. When Dr. Floreani founded Azure, Whitney was asked to be involved from the beginning and it gave her first-hand experience with what it takes to start a business from the ground up.
Whitney then played a significant role in building the Azure brand and the merging of Azure Medispa and Headlines Hair Salon & Day Spa. She began as the Business Development Leader at Azure and recently took over as General Manager in 2020. She loves creating a work environment where the team feels empowered to do what they love and guests leave looking and feeling their absolute best!
During the pandemic, her love for personal finance and teaching was calling. She, along with her husband Justin, had spent the previous 3 years making some financial changes and paid down a lot of debt while still feeling stress-free and loving life. She wanted to teach that to whomever she could by posting tips and sharing information on social media.
She and her husband most recently purchased All Star Auto Glass, a long-standing business in Sault Ste. Marie. So, work-life balance is even more of a focus than ever as she juggles managing the team at Azure, owning a thriving business, being a present Mom, wife, sister, daughter - you name it!
Happy Wednesday, gang! I’m back with ANOTHER Tee Talk this week. Can you believe we’ve been doing this together for 7 months now?! I know… me neither!
Today’s episode is short and sweet because I have an insanely busy weekend last week and my balance is feeling completely off. I need to spend some extra time recovering and resting. But, I wanted to catch you all up on the FIRST KEYNOTE that I presented last week–so pumped about this! Then, I recently read a passage that I needed to share with you all because I think it’s VERY relevant to what we do here on the show and an important reminder.
Key Takeaways:* Rest is productive
* What your soul needs.
* Balance is the highest priority
To get my favourite Brianna Wiest books, you can shop for them here:* The Pivot Year * 101 Essays That Will Change The Way You Think * The Mountain Is You * This Is How You Heal
As promised, here is the passage I share in today’s episode:
On the days when it hurts too much to dream, to hope, to think of anything beyond the line of sight ahead of you–just rest. You were raised in a world that believes your productivity can only exist in outward measure, that the only things watch doing are the ones that others can consume. Your soul cannot be fooled by this, no matter how much your mindset can try to superimpose such rigid beliefs upon you. Eventually, you give way to the guidance of your inner being, the part of you that knows how vital it is to recover, to reintegrate, to reflect, to balance all doing with the simplicity of being. There is nothing wrong with you for needing to take life at your own pace, in your own timing. In fact, there is something emerging from deep within you that is so strong in its conviction that it is making balance your highest priority. Your unwillingness to press forward in outdated ways is not a sign of your noncompliance, but that the spiritual freedom you have cultivated from within is finally beginning to take root. - Day 38, The Pivot Year by Brianna Wiest

About Monica Khalil:
Monica Khalil is the proud owner of SnaptureThis, a boutique gift shop located in downtown Toronto. As a young girl, crafting was always a passion of hers. From painting to photography to creating gallery walls in her dorm rooms and rented apartments, she’s always had an eye and passion for creating art. She discovered Etsy as a platform in 2013 when she was looking for a customized gift for a friend of hers. A year later in 2014, she moved from Hamilton Ontario to the big city of Toronto. She was working a full-time job but had an itch to do more. She decided to take a leap of faith and opened SnaptureThis as an online Etsy store. She started the shop off with prints featuring her photography and digitally created designs. Over time, the shop has grown and she began expanding her products. In 2020, she began working with local illustrators on commission to develop some of her most popular items to date beginning with the Toronto Coffee Shop V1 Print. This print featured local cafes in the city and became a best seller quickly. In 2022, she took the biggest leap of faith, quit her full-time job and opened up her storefront in downtown Toronto! She works closely with her best friend, Dunya, and the storefront includes all her products, dried florals, and also features incredible local makers and female-owned businesses.

If you feel like you are on autopilot, this episode is for you!
It’s May–and this new month is bringing me to talk about being stagnant.
Do you ever feel like you are just going through the motions? Another day comes and goes just like the one before and you don’t necessarily feel like you’re in control? Acting on autopilot is something that we ALL need to be aware of and check ourselves from time to time. It’s easy to go about our everyday life and not spend the proper amount of time truly REFLECTING. So, in today’s episode, we’re going to talk about just that.
Then, I’m going to remind you about the importance of challenging times. Challenging times are exactly that–challenging. But, there’s always something to learn. And at the moment, it might seem impossible that any good can come from a situation, but shifting your perspective and learning to pivot can propel you forward instead of staying in the same place.
Key Takeaways:* Autopilot is normal
* More reflection is needed
* You have the choice
* Pivoting leads to growth

In today’s show, I’m talking about something that’s been on my mind since I started the show–work/life balance in this post-pandemic world.
The fact of the matter is that people are struggling–we aren’t the same people we were before the pandemic! The statistics are telling us that people are working more, are extremely stressed, and not prioritizing their work/life balance. Also, we can’t really understand the impact that the pandemic truly has had on all of us.
So, in today’s episode, I dig into all of this, the impact that our mental weight can have on us, and how the result is usually lashing out negatively. I also talk more about what we can start to do about this to try to make the world a little bit of a better place.
Key Takeaways:* Individuals have changed
* The post-pandemic world looks different in the workplace
* Work/life balance is more important than ever
* It’s time to be kind
Statistics listed in the episode were sourced here.

But, I know all of you are here to support me, are here to learn, and are hear to listen to me (so thank you for that!).Today, I open the door about how everyone experiences hard days and that hard days affect literally everything–even your work/life balance.
