Hello and welcome back! The girls are back to discuss another book by podcast- favourite author Rebecca F. Kuang, this time a modern literary fiction novel about an extremely morally- gray (dare we say evil) woman who plagiarizes her way through the high ranks of the publishing world. Listen as we discuss the rules of intellectual property, how much we hate June, and who gets the right to tell certain stories!

We'll see you next month when we will be reading The Secret History by Donna Tartt!

Welcome back to the arena, listeners! Character backgrounds are revealed, political subtext is read, everything is poisonous, and Snow is still unable to get over his one crush from high school. Ammu and Zoe praise the incredible Suzanne Collins, look at parallels, and try to find the saddest moment in the book. There are a lot of contenders. Like a lot, guys, this was seriously devastating.

Read along with us next month! Our pick will be yellowface by R. F. Kuang!

Welcome back! This month, we read the TikTok favourite, Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Read. Questions are raised. Individuals are mocked. Was Daisy a feminist icon? Did Billy deserve Camilla? Were issues mishandled? And- most importantly- why does every lyric of the world's so- called best band read like a high school poet's idea of 'deep art'? Listen and find out!

Happy May, everyone! This month, we read You Could Be So Pretty, a stunning book by Holly Bourne. We chat about beauty standards and just how present they are in our life, a friends-to-romance ark we all saw coming and the choice we have to put effort in how we look. Or do we really have that? If you're curious on what we think, you should choose to listen to the episode.

This book has some pretty heavy topics, dealing with sexual abuse, harassment and eating disorders.

Hello, everyone! Surprise! One year ago, we sat down with two headphone- microphones and and a dream, and now were here to celebrate that! We talk about how we started this, and then we play a game of 'Smash- and Pass' - but with book tropes! What are our favorite things to read about? What makes us throw a book across the room? Whats the trope that annoys Zoe irrationally? And what affect would marrying a thriller book would have on your life? Hi everyone! For the last book of the summer, we read Begin Again by Emma Lord, an adorable book about a girl unable to live up to a legacy, a boy who drinks disgusting coffee, and the slowest burn that ever blazed in literature! Featuring a confused roommate, a math major who's secretly a writer, a ribbon system none of us could understand, a breakup song that annoyed Zoe more then it should've, and bagels. Enjoy! For legal reasons, we couldn't play the song 'Begin Again' in the episode, but we recommend you listen to it to understand the connection to the book Our next book: The Hunger Games! Hi, everyone! This is the part one to our promised Harry Potter episode. We talk about our experiences with the books, the best Hogwarts houses, and we talk about some ( not- so) unpopular opinions. Was Hagrid a good teacher? (Not really) , Is Molly and Arthur the best couple? (Definitely, no question!) And is Dumbledore as good as Harry thinks he is? (Err... Debatable!) You can find out whether Zoe is a Gryffindor or Slytherin, how much of a Potterhead Ammu really is, and if we can hum the iconic Harry Potter tune. We had a great time making this episode and this is not the last one dealing with this world, because we have so much more to say, so watch out for future episodes! Our instagram: @mixedupfilespodcastEmail: mixedupfilespod@gmail.com Voicemail: https://www.speakpipe.com/TheMixedUpFilesPodcast Goodreads: Mixed Up Files Of Ammu And Zoe--- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/mixedupfilespod/message

Hi, everyone! It's the beginning of spring, and we are here to talk about the ickabog, this very depressive children's book. We talk about the themes, and if we  like the Ickabog himself, and also the very important question of  whether one could go jogging in the morning in a town so focused on sweets, (It makes sense in the episode, we promise!) It's important to state that we did not talk about the questionable things J. K. Rowling said, and we only referenced her as the author of this book rather then talking about her personal choices and beliefs.

We will have an episode about the World of Harry Potter! Do you have any questions or ideas you want us to talk about?
