The American Revolution lasted a grueling 6 years. Both sides were tired, both losing hope, and both running out of men and supplies. In this podcast episode, we will learn about a man who became instrumental in the victory at Yorktown, resulting in the British surrend and the end of the war.

This is the last epoisode of our season talking about the Pilgrims. Although their history goes on for many more decades, it is important to know why we focused so heavily on the first group of Pilgrims that came to America and what took place the first year they were here.
There can be good and bad found in all histories. It is important to know both. It is possible to learn from the past as well as be proud of our past.

The Pilgrims have now chosen a spot to begin settling- Plymouth, Massachussets. Time is against them as they begin to build homes and gathering places; it is the middle of winter in New England and death and sickness are ever present in the new found colony.
Within a few short weeks, a visitor, native to the Americas, will make himself known to the Pilgrims and will become a friend and ally. Without this encounter, the Pilgrims may not have made it through their first winter in Plymouth.
