I made this short video for Ukraine a few years ago, shortly after they were attacked by Russia. The news hit me hard for about a week.
During that time, I went to listen to my daughter’s high school choir perform “The Star Spangled Banner” (among other moving songs). That night I got inspired to set Ukraine’s war footage to our own national anthem.
(Note: Melanie May is the singer I set this footage to. I love her version. It feels straightforward yet beautifully strained and breathy at just the right moments.)

She’ll take cross country motorcycle trips with a Tom Selleck look-alike. She’ll hook up with an Alaskan sea captain and find paradise in a Mexican casita near the ocean.
