We're talking money, but without the filters. It's the one thing that we can't escape, but that none of us dare to talk about. Each week we'll be having a no holds barred conversation about real life money. So grab yourself a coffee, (or a cheeky glass of wine!), and settle on in.
What does it mean to reclaim true independence and fulfillment in our lives? That's the question we ask this week's guest, Rebekah Lloyd, founder of This Independent Life.
We break down Rebecca's independence triad, the power of community in recovery and growth, and Rebecca's relentless drive to make a difference to people like her.
Whether you're seeking a rebalance in life or looking for inspiration amidst life's challenges, this conversation with Rebecca promises to be enlightening, so enjoy!

Imagine if you could pay your rent with your skills rather than your cash, or if you could rent out your spare room in exchange for a live in tutor, cloudminder or a handyman.
That's exactly what Kindroom is here to do. By connecting people looking to cut rental costs with those who have a spare room but want to save on the cost of services they need, Kindroom is transforming the way we rent and rent out our homes across the UK.
On this week's episode, we speak to kind rooms, founder Bernard, to hear how it works and how we could all benefit from this new approach to renting.

Clue is THE original femtech company - Clue’s founder Ida Tin coined the term a few years ago because there wasn’t even a word to talk about technology for women.
Having gotten some of the world’s foremost venture capitalists to invest (e.g. Union Square Ventures, Balderton) Clue clearly did persuade some men to invest, but that was against the odds.
The stats:
Apart from the scandal that this should be - is someone leaving big money on the table here? Men control the majority of capital, do they just not see it?
Maybe we need to invent a new term for female investing, so we can start talking about that - would the world be different if women chose which companies got money and which didn’t? Would more women start getting wealthier too?
In this episode, we speak to Carrie Walter and Audrey Tsang, Co-CEOs of Clue. We talk all about Clue’s mission, how femtech can and should make money, and why they’re doing a crowdfund.
Head to www.helloclue.com/crowdfunding to find our how you can invest in Clue from as little as £10. The crowdfund is kicking off today and is open until 18th April.
And of course, if you haven't already download Clue from App Store to take

The news is full of headlines about falling house prices, rising mortgage rates and it’s hard to know what on earth to believe.
So whilst there’s no crystal ball for the housing market, there are some key things to think about if you’re planning to buy or sell a property in 2023 and we speak to Mortgage broker and co-founder of Meet Margo, Matt Towe.
Matt breaks down the confusing jargon from the mortgage world, tells us what aspiring homeowners can do right now to get in the best position possible and gives us his expert view on when it’s the right time to buy.

The cost of living crisis is affecting the vast majority of us, and that inevitably means we have less money to spend on luxuries, and when it comes to health, wellness and beauty, we often think that we need expensive treatments if we want to see tangible benefits.
But with the increasing focus on the impact of our nutrition on things like our energy, sleep, skin, immunity, general wellness and even our sex life, could nutrition be the accessible and affordable way to improve our lives?
**On this week’s episode of Money Unfiltered, we talk to Jennifer Medhurst AKA The Imperfect Nutritionist about how we can use nutrition to improve the way we look and feel in a way that’s much more cost effective than an expensive juice cleanse or detox retreat!

The gender numeracy gap: why is it that women are twice as likely to be anxious using maths and numbers as men?
And is it simply a myth that some people are better with numbers than others?
In this episode, we speak to Beth and Bryony from charity National Numeracy about how young women and girls are disproportionately affected by a lack of numeracy.
We dive into why number confidence impacts everyday money management, how to tackle the gender numeracy gap and how numeracy skills can open a world of career opportunities for young women and girls.
Thank you to Capital One UK for sponsoring this episode. Through their partnership with National Numeracy, Capital One UK is working to inspire girls and young women to engage with numeracy skills to spark better opportunities and brighter futures.

With a school system that bases success purely on grades, our children are exposed to comparison culture from a scarily young age. It’s no surprise then that 92% of children are afraid of the f-word, failure.
So how can we empower our children to become confident individuals with a sense of self-worth beyond their school grades?
That’s the question that we’re asking award winning coach, Natalie Costa, who helps children to flourish both at home and in the classroom.
We talk to Natalie about navigating parenthood when a lot of parents today feel unequipped themselves, how we can promote a growth mindset in our children, and how we can work alongside our children to learn to recognise our behaviour patterns and regulate our emotions.
This episode is an absolute gem whether you have children, you’re thinking about them or you want to better understand the small people in your life.

Shoshana gave us so many valuable. And this episode is really useful for anyone who's in the world of work.

Can our decisions with money save humanity from extinction? That’s the question we’re asking this week in our conversation with Tom, the co-founder of investment platform CIRCA5000. Core to their mission is a belief that investors should be able to invest in companies having a positive impact without having to sacrifice any potential financial return.
This was a great discussion about Tom’s journey from city banking to pioneer in the impact world, how to spot greenwashing in finance and why he believes impact investing can change the world.
I’m sure everyone listening will find this really thought provoking, and feel empowered that we can all get involved with building a better future for ourselves, humanity, and the planet. Thank you to Circa5000 for partnering with us on this episode, we can’t wait to see what’s in store!
