Hope When You’re in a Holding Pattern – waiting feels long, but it’s not wasted.
Holly walks through powerful Bible stories of long waits — Abraham & Sarah (25 years for a promise), Joseph (13 years in slavery & prison), David (15 years between anointing & throne) — and how God used those in-between seasons to build character, trust, and deeper faith.

Scripture highlights:
- Isaiah 40:31 — “Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength”
- Psalm 27:14 — “Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart”
- Habakkuk 2:3 — “Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come”
- Lamentations 3:25 — “The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him”

Real-life encouragement for Christian women today:
- Waiting for a job, healing, relationship breakthrough, or answered prayer
- How to keep hope alive when delays feel endless
- Practical ways to stay anchored: naming a promise, speaking truth, gratitude in the small, resting in the “meanwhile”

Perfect for anyone in the in-between, feeling stuck, or tempted to give up — hope is cultivated right here.

In this cozy, fireside-style episode you’ll hear:

  • Day 3 – Luke 1:38 Mary’s life-changing yes (“I am the Lord’s servant”) and the gentle invitation to lay down our own expectations of perfect so we can pick up the true joy of surrender.

On this episode of the She Lives Fearless Podcast we're welcoming back Rebecca George! You may have heard her speak at one of our conferences or heard her on a previous episode of our podcast, but today we're welcoming her back to talk about her NEW book, You're Not Too Late: Trusting God’s Timing in a Hurry-Up World (David C Cook, April 1, 2025)

Rebecca is a podcaster, speaker, and author whose greatest joy in life is discipling others to pursue their passions in a way that builds the Kingdom.

In a world that demands instant gratification and measures worth by milestones, it’s easy for women to feel like they’re falling behind, trapped in the tension between hope and frustration. The pressure to keep up, to achieve, and to reach the next big moment can be exhausting, leaving many wondering if they’ve missed their chance. But what if the waiting itself holds a deeper purpose?

In her new book, You’re Not Too Late Rebecca offers a refreshing and gospel-centered perspective for women navigating seasons of waiting. With honesty and warmth, she speaks directly to those wrestling with unfulfilled longings, whether for a child, a spouse, healing in broken relationships or clarity in their calling. She weaves in her own experiences to remind readers that God’s timing is always right on schedule.

You can connect with her on IG at @rebeccageorgeauthor or at radicalradiance.live!

In this episode we chat about:

  • Wisdom for how to bring our disappointments to God
  • Real-life ideas for dealing with envy, isolation, and doubt
  • Insights into finding contentment no matter our circumstances... and more!

You can get your copy of You're Not Too Late here on Amazon or wherever books are sold.

In this episode of the She Lives Fearless Podcast, hosts Holly Newton and Dina Deleasa-Gonsar have a conversation with Laura Smith, author of Brave Woman Mighty God - a bold invitation to live brave.

Drawing inspiration from the courageous women of the Bible, Brave reminds us that the same God who empowered them empowers us today. With honesty and heart, Laura shows that bravery isn’t about big moments—it’s found in our everyday, ordinary lives when we rely on Jesus for strength, joy, and purpose. This is your call to rise up, walk in freedom, and live fully—right where you are.

Laura is passionate about tearing down lies, so we can live in Christ’s truth. Smith says, “God’s amazing grace is abundant and free for the taking. We can’t earn it. And we don’t have to. All we have to do is accept it. And when we do? Surely goodness and love will follow us all the days of our lives.”

She lives in the picturesque college town of Oxford, Ohio, with her husband and the youngest of their four young adult kids. There you’ll find her running the wooded trails, strolling the brick streets, shopping at the Saturday morning farmer’s market, or going on a sunset walk.

Every one of us has broken places inside. Places in our souls where the dust gathers or the wind whistles through. Every one of us needs restoration. Photographer and portrait artist Meshali Mitchell is no different. Though, in her case, she also had a farmhouse to restore to its former glory.

In this episode of the She Lives Fearless Podcast, Hosts Holly Newton and Dina Deleasa-Gonsar are having a conversation with Meshali, discussing her restoration journey and her book releasing this April!

In a world where Pinterest-perfect homes flood our social media feeds, Meshali Mitchell offers a radically different perspective in her new book Restored (Revell, April 2025). As both a professional photographer and portrait artist whose work has appeared in People Magazine, West Elm, and the Today Show, Meshali has an eye for beauty. But her journey of restoring an old farmhouse became about much more than aesthetics – it became a powerful metaphor for how God restores our souls.

Tune in and be deeply encouraged by Meshali's story of allowing God into every room of her heart while simultaneously renovating her home. With vulnerability and wisdom, she shares how the Lord drew her out from behind the camera to embrace His healing work in her life. Her story perfectly aligns with your mission of helping women pursue God fiercely and live fearlessly through Biblical truth.

On this week's episode of the She Lives Fearless podcast, we're ramping up to the New Jersey Conference happening on April 20th. Hosts Holly Newton and Dina Deleasa-Gonsar are chatting with Jessica Unger, founder of Armor the Home. Jessica is serving as a Panel Member at our upcoming conference and today you get a sneak peak to glean some of her wisdom and encouragement talking about ministry within the home!

Jessica shares that Armor the Home came from the leading of the Holy Spirit and the Father releasing blueprints for the times we are living in and the importance of freedom. Freedom in our lives, in our families, and our homes. It came out of a place in our own stories of intense warfare between heaven and hell almost a decade ago.
The enemy is targeting the home, attempting to divide, confuse, and blur the lines but God speaks a better word. His heart and eyes are on the home and family to protect it and bring freedom. It’s time for us to stand up and fight the good fight together.

Don't let the holiday season drain you! Pause with us and position your heart and home to be peace-filled. In today's episode, we're replaying an episode with hosts Holly Newton and Dina Deleasa-Gonsar with special guest, Kayty Helgerson.

Kayty is the powerhouse leading lifestyle hospitality brand, Gather Intentional Living. What started as a passion for wanting to help others find community turned into skill-building courses, a successful podcast, and inspiring home products. Kayty and her husband Colby moved to Chang Mai, Thailand to volunteer in the area of human trafficking and child exploitation using their backgrounds in social work and criminal justice. While there, she experienced her own battle with loneliness and her own desire for connection. It was then that she created a small life skill training catering program in an effort to act as a smooth transition from a life of abuse to successfully re-entering society for victims of exploitation.

After coming back to the States Kayty and Colby opened Gather Wholesome Gourmet. Feeling the call to teach Kayty and Colby created Gather: Intentional Living & Everyday Hospitality. Kayty began teaching charcuterie styling workshops to small groups which grew into working with large companies and teaching students from across the US and multiple countries. Gather has since grown into a podcast with an impressive guest list, and a range of stunning home products.

On this week's episode hosts Holly Newton and Dina Deleasa-Gonsar have a conversation with Owen Githanga. Owen is an alum of the Compassion International Babies and Moms program.

We talked about his early childhood in Kenya and how Compassion's intervention saved his life and opened up opportunities Owen would have never had to live a full abundant life. He's now an accountant on staff at Compassion in Colorado Springs.

Tune in to hear this powerful story and learn how you can partner with She Lives Fearless to make a difference in one of three hundred babies' lives!

Go to Compassion.com/Fearless to partner with us by sponsoring a baby and mom in El Salvador.

Many of you have probably heard of Compassion International before, but might not have heard yet about their program that helps babies and moms.

Basically, what this means is instead of waiting until a child is four to start providing care for them and missing some of the key developmental years for that child, and quite frankly missing the opportunity to help a child actually survive those first four years in extreme poverty, Compassion comes alongside a mom who is living in extreme poverty once they know she’s pregnant in order to help that baby and mom not only survive but to thrive - to give the child the best chance at fulfilling their full potential as he/she grows up.

Compassion comes alongside these moms living in extreme poverty and provides them with free medical care, food, vitamins, training on how to take care of their baby, mentoring, and discipleship all through the local Church in the community where the baby and mom live.

These children and their moms don’t just receive practical help, but they experience the love of Jesus and receive the opportunity to know Jesus.

As a result, babies are available to be sponsored starting at age one. They will continue to be part of the Compassion child development program through child sponsorship until they’re able to stand on their own two feet and break the cycle of poverty in their family, just like Owen did.

And today, for just $43 per month, you can change the life of a baby and mom.

In this week's episode on the She Lives Fearless Podcast, Hosts Holly Newton and Dina Gonsar chat with Bob and Linda Lotich - authors of Simple Money, Rich Life.

Once they combined their financial messes, Bob and Linda spent the next couple years paying off their $46k of debt in their first years of marriage.

Then at age 31 they began “giving their age” as a percentage of their income (31% at the time) and increasing each year. While this should have slowed their progress towards their goal of paying off their mortgage, they found that just 10 months later their mortgage was paid in full.

As they continued to stretch in their giving they reached their biggest financial victory yet: giving away $1 million dollars by age 40.

Now Bob and Linda teach others the principles, mindsets, and specific strategies needed to experience true financial freedom (how to have more money without it having you) in order to make an impact on the world around them.

They have been featured in numerous publications and on various podcasts and television shows. They also have their own podcast entitled, “Seed Time Money,” where they share their experiences and skills with listeners. You can also grab a copy of their new book as of this past April, “Simple Money, Rich Life.”

I'm welcoming Blythe Daniel to the podcast this week! Blythe is a literary agent and marketer. She has written for Proverbs 31 Ministries, Focus on the Family, Ann Voskamp, and Christian Retailing. Her agency markets books represents books to publishers. The daughter of Dr. Helen McIntosh, she lives in Colorado with her husband and three children. She and McIntosh have written I Love You, Mom! and Mended: Restoring the Hearts of Mothers and Daughters.

In honor of Mother's Day we are chatting about her latest book co-written with her mom, Dr. Helen McIntosh. Written for moms of all ages of children, from infants to adults, I Love You, Mom! gives a voice to the feelings many have about their mom. Going beyond a traditional greeting card, the book is beautifully designed with cheerful full-color artwork in a hardcover package. It contains 25 word gifts, each focused on a character quality for mom and designed to express affirmation and encouragement that moms dream of hearing.

Each devotion includes a Scripture verse, a story from Daniel and McIntosh about the related word gift or a biblical story, and a pre-written reflection from the perspective of the child to his or her mom using the word gift such as “You are forgiven/fearless/a servant”. Devotions include topics such as leaving a legacy, making time for yourself, choosing joy, connection, serving one another, and more.

“Being a mom can sometimes be a tiring, thankless job,” says McIntosh. “But when we take a step back and realize the impact we are making on our child’s life, and the critical role we play, it’s humbling.”

In this week's episode I sat down with Nicole Zasowski for an important and authentic conversation about, not only when hope leads to disappointment, but also what do we do when miracles do happen and things do work out - when life really is worth celebrating?

Nicole vulnerably shares about how after experiencing prolonged seasons of hurt and disappointment, she had become highly suspicious of joy, afraid to enjoy the good things in life for fear they would be snatched away. But in her new book, What If It’s Wonderful?: An Invitation to Release Your Fears, Choose Joy, and Find the Courage to Celebrate (Thomas Nelson, March 8, 2022), Nicole shares how she chose to pursue a life of anticipation and invites readers to join her on the quest to release fear that hinders delight and savor the joy of our present life.

I believe this is a needed conversation, and I pray it encourages you to find your God-given courage to celebrate.

“I was sure that celebration always came with a catch, so I became practiced in praying for the miracle while preparing to mourn,” writes Zasowski. “I realized that much of the loss I had experienced in my life was not only the grief and disappointment itself, but also the joy I overlooked because I was too afraid to embrace it...I also wondered about the purpose of celebration in our lives. Without knowing it, I began to liken celebration to dessert: enjoyable yes, but indulgent and unnecessary to the Christian life.”

For the month of December, Host Holly Newton, is sharing devotionals from her new book, Savor The Wonder: Behold Jesus.

Jesus’ earthly story begins in the town of Bethlehem. The gospels show that God didn’t send Jesus to be an earthly king, but a Heavenly King His birth didn’t go unnoticed, for both shepherds and Magi came to worship Him. Though the Jewish people were for the Messiah to appear, they didn’t recognize Him because they were looking for a different kind of king.

Amid a season marked by busyness, this devotional provides daily opportunities to slow down, reflect, respond, savor and behold Jesus. The Promised One. Our Savior.

A note from Holly:

Every year at this time I pause and ask myself what I am hoping for in this Christmas season. What is in my schedule or thoughts that might cause me to miss what the season is all about?

What are your expectations for this Christmas season? Here are some of my hopes:

Let’s not miss Jesus

Let’s linger longer in the Word of God

Let’s embrace the simple moments

Jesus stepped into a manger, He hung on a cross, defeated death and rose in victory so we can have eternal life a live freely.

Let’s Savor the Wonder and behold Jesus. My desire is that this book and podcast Special Edition will illuminate the beauty of Christmas with fresh perspective and peace!

In this week's Exhale podcast episode we're welcoming Abby Turner to the show! Abby encourages everyone in how you can gather around the table this holiday season and leave aside the pressure for perfection!

"It's not about the presentation it's about the people. It's not about the perfection of the moment it's about making sure you're having the moment." - Abby

Join Host, Holly Newton, and Kayty for the finale episode of special edition Season 7: Holidays, Food, and Hospitality.

Abby Turner, the food blogger and writer behind A Table Top Affair, has made it her mission to help women toss aside the pressures of a Pinterest-perfect dinner party in exchange for meaningful and simple gatherings that feature easy and delicious dishes, allowing hostesses to shift their focus from the food and party preparations to communing with the people who are present.

In her first cookbook, The Living Table: Recipes and Devotions for Everyday Get- Togethers (DaySpring, April 13, 2021), Turner equips women with the tools to live life as God intended around the table: simple, delicious recipes for life’s big and small occasions, a practical guide to no-fuss hosting, and devotions and encouragement for the hearts that will gather and be nourished around the table.

“The table is important,” writes Turner. “God, in His infinite wisdom, designed the table to be a safe place where the human soul receives healing from past events, forgiveness from past actions, and a deep-seated love that only comes from the presence of God.”

As a young professional, Abby found herself working long hours and living alone, with little time for community or friendships. Following her mother’s advice, she invited friends into her home and hosted her first dinner party at the age of 24. After four years of learning her way around the kitchen while cooking for her friends, she launched her blog, Pinterest and Instagram pages to encourage people who were stuck in a rut, didn’t know how to meet others, and were starving for community. Drawn to the table, Abby hopes that her recipes will inspire others to build their tribe and experience the presence of God, one meal at a time.

You can learn more about Abby and enjoy even more recipes by visiting her website at atabletopaffair.com.

Host Holly Newton chats with author Bonnie Gray about her new book, Sweet Like Jasmine, in today's episode.

At thirty-nine, Bonnie thought she had put her past behind her. An American-Chinese daughter of a mail-order bride from Hong Kong and a father who worked as a busboy in a noodle shop in San Francisco’s Chinatown, Bonnie had worked hard to build a life that looked just like everyone else’s. She had a wonderful husband, two amazing boys, a thriving career and was even pursuing her dream of becoming a writer.

But a long-forgotten birth certificate in an old file cabinet sparked something in Bonnie that couldn’t be ignored. Determined to uncover family secrets and find the home she was born into, Bonnie set out on a journey that would change the trajectory of her life forever. As she returned to the places, culture, and stories that shaped her life, Bonnie realized that it’s only when we learn to embrace the truth of our past that we can finally make sense of our present and celebrate what truly matters.

Bonnie Gray is the author of Whispers of Rest, Finding Spiritual Whitespace and Sweet Like Jasmine. An inspirational speaker and podcast host of Breathe: The Stress Less Podcast, Bonnie touches thousands of lives using storytelling, soul care, and prayer. Bonnie’s global following of readers come to her for inspiring Christian content in her authentic, unique voice. Her writing has been published and syndicated across a broad online audience. Bonnie lives in California with her husband and two sons.

Sweet Like Jasmineis a profoundly moving story of how God uses our unique and broken stories to create a beautiful mosaic of His love, one life at a time.

What people are saying:

“In a world crying out for kindness and belonging, this is a book needed for our times. Sweet Like Jasmine is the gift, a beautiful remembrance that God treasures each of our broken hearts in His sweeping story of redemption.”

-Ann Voskamp, New York Times bestselling author of The Broken Way and One Thousand Gifts

“In Sweet Like Jasmine, Bonnie Gray is an engaging storyteller reminding us of the grace woven through each chapter of our lives. This book is both poetic and insightful. Beautiful and honest. A worthy companion through the wilderness of learning to find our identity. Through stories, letters, cultural insights, and reflections, Sweet Like Jasmine generously provides much-needed language and permission to embrace the wholeness of who we are.”

-Morgan Harper Nichols, Author of All Along You Were Blooming

In this week's episode of the Exhale Podcast Host Holly Newton invited Cassie Cooper to be her special guest to talk about Cassie's new book release - The Simplest Thing.

"The Simplest Thing started out as a few small devotional posts to process the most difficult season I've walked through. I wrote mostly to tell God that I was too overwhelmed to even know how to pray. But instead of correction, I felt Him tell me that was okay; I didn't need to pray about all the things, I just needed to invite Him in. Out of those short ramblings grew a desire to help others find hope by simply resting in relationship with the Father." - Cassie Cooper

What People Are Saying:

"In The Simplest Thing, Cassie has penned an encouraging reminder that when life seems overwhelming, the simplest and best thing you can do is concentrate on the basics of your relationship with Him - and everything else will into proper perspective."

Jim Daly, President | Focus On The Family

In a world where there is so much noise, Cassie invites us in to learn how following the Lord is simple - not necessarily easy, but simple. The Simplest Thing shares her words, stories, and Scripture to encourage you in your journey to invite Jesus into your joys, sorrows, and grief.

Welcome to Season 6 of the Exhale podcast! This season's topic is on surrender. In today's episode, Exhale podcast Host Holly Newton sat down and chatted with Rebekah Lyons about her new book that was released this week.

Bestselling author, podcast host and national speaker Rebekah Lyons spent years battling fear, anxiety and panic until she found freedom in surrendering her yes to God. From moving to New York City with young children to adopting a child with Down syndrome from China, Rebekah realized that saying yes to who God says you are in Him, even in the small, ordinary moments of life, can create renewed spiritual vitality.

In her new devotional, A Surrendered Yes: 52 Devotions to Let Go and Live Free (Zondervan, September 2021), Rebekah offers readers 52 reflections that will move them from striving and fear into freedom, joy and rest. She shares her own personal rescue journey of healing from anxiety and fear to finding renewed freedom in daily rhythms, and encourages readers to engage their bravest self, knowing that God sustains and upholds them.

“The truth is that none of us want give up control,” says Rebekah. “But anything that God calls us to do is going to be beautiful, life-giving and restore our soul. When you read this book, it’s not going to be all about massive decisions – moving across country, changing careers, adoption. It’s really the small things that when we say yes, we get more armored for the big things. Every time I have said yes, reluctantly fearfully, tearfully, God has given me strength on the other side of yes.”

Rebekah Lyons is a national speaker, host of the Rhythms for Life podcast, and bestselling author of Rhythms of Renewal, You Are Free, and Freefall to Fly. An old soul with a contemporary, honest voice, Rebekah reveals her own battles to overcome anxiety and depression—and invites others to discover and boldly pursue their God-given purpose. Alongside her husband, Gabe, Rebekah finds joy in raising four children, two of whom have Down syndrome. She wears her heart on her sleeve, a benefit to friends and readers alike. Her work has been featured on the TODAY show, Good Morning America, CNN, FOX News, Publishers Weekly Starred Reviews, and more.

He heals, restores, and calls us up. Reminding us that in Him, we have great purpose and hope. And that’s the key to the ashes that cover our days in this life. Christ came to bring beauty from ashes.

In this episode, we chat with Hope Darst. Over the past 15 years, Hope has been leading worship, growing her family, and serving the local church. She wears many titles; wife, mom, worship leader, and songwriter. In 2013, after a decade of being in full-time ministry and on staff at her local church, she found herself in a season of transition as she focused on being a full-time mom. During this time, Hope and her family visited a small gathering of people in a basement and encountered the presence of God in a new way. “I had been 'doing ministry' for so long that I had ignored so many parts of my heart and life that needed ministry. I was desperate for healing and a fresh encounter with God. That year of rest became the foundation for discovering a new way of living with Christ. Week after week I would enter God’s presence during worship and the word and experience deep emotional and mental healing that I had long thought was impossible.” This “gathering” would eventually become what is now The Belonging Co. church.

After a few years, Hope found herself leading worship again and being part of the songwriting team at The Belonging Co. A renewed passion begin to grow. “God really had to deconstruct so many of my paradigms about praise and worship during that season. For so many years, I lead from a place of needing approval, but as God began to heal my heart and mind I began to lead worship from a place of humility, vulnerability, and intimacy. Everything I do is now rooted in the belief that God truly wants us to live in freedom - from parenting, friendships, marriage, songwriting, leading - the goal is to live in freedom in every area of our lives and bring others into the awareness that God wants to set them free too.”

In 2020, Hope signed her first recording contract with Fair Trade Music Services. Her first single, “Peace Be Still” released in February 2020 and was followed by a full album. Hope also appears on albums released by The Belonging Co., All the Earth, Awe+Wonder, and See The Light.

Hope has been married to the love of her life, David, for 14 years. They live in Nashville, TN with their two daughters Olivia and Brooklyn.

Christ came to bring beauty from ashes.

In this episode Hosts, Holly Newton and Anna Lise Lillard chatted with special guest, Rachael Adams. They talked about:

  • How can we bring beauty to those who are grieving?
  • We need to look for God's beauty and joy in the midst of sorrow. It is all around us. Our situations may not change, but our perspectives can. We need to recognize and encounter God's beauty in life.
  • God can take what we believe to be the worst of circumstances and turn it into something great.
  • We have hope for coming out on the other side of sorrow with shouts of praise for our Lord maybe not now, but definitely in eternity.
  • We can use our sorrow to point people to Jesus as we display His splendor with our garments of praise.

Rachael Adams is a writer, speaker, and host of The Love Offering podcast. Her heart’s desire is to encourage women to realize their God-given purpose and to embolden them to move into the world through compassionate action. We are talking about beauty from ashes in Season 5. Jesus reminds us in John 16:33, “In this world, you will have trouble, but take courage, for I have overcome the world.”God never intends for us to stay stuck in our sin, pain, or deep sorrow. He heals, restores, and calls us onward. Reminding us that in Him, we have great purpose and hope. And that’s the key to the ashes that cover our days in this life. Christ came to bring beauty from ashes.

In this episode Host, Holly Newton sat down and chatted with special guest, Bonnie O'Neill. They talked about:

  • Bonnie's faith crisis when her son faced an unexpected diagnosis and how she reawakened to a stronger faith
  • The emotional weight so many mothers (and fathers) carry and how the only way to find healing is to go deeper in and attend to what you discover you're carrying
  • The pivotal role of releasing control if we want to awaken to new hope in the dark seasons of life

Bonnie is an inspirational communicator who is passionate about restoring HOPE to hurting people. She has had a front-row seat to the stress of raising a child with chronic illness, as her son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (T1D) at age 5 and two of her siblings were diagnosed with T1D as children. Her new book, Chronic Hope: Raising a Child with Chronic Illness with Grace, Courage, and Love helps readers discover HOPE in the unexpected and challenging seasons of life.

While Chronic Hope was written for parents raising a child with a chronic condition, the themes Bonnie raises in the book are universal. The story of Chronic Hope is ultimately a story of accepting what we did not choose—by learning to release control and accept what can’t be changed. Chronic Hope offers all readers tools for releasing anger, fear, guilt, shame, jealousy, bitterness, and judgment in order to live a life filled with inner-freedom, strength, grace, courage, love, and most of all, hope.

Her first book, My Identity is in Christ, examines the identity struggles of nine biblical women and explores how to break free from those strongholds to live in the freedom God intends for us.

Bonnie is a spiritual director and the Executive Director of the faith-based nonprofit Alpha Mid Atlantic. Bonnie has lived as an expatriate in both Paris and London and currently lives in suburban Philadelphia. She's happiest when in the company of her husband and three adult children. In Proverbs 8 we read where Wisdom calls us to live lives anchored in God's Truth. Scripture tells us that true wisdom only comes from God. It’s not measured in degrees or accomplishments. It doesn’t come from a formula we create, but only from the One who created us. We’re called to keep our eyes on Jesus, the source and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2).

The God who knew and loved us long before we were born invites us to know Him in His Word and prayer. Through this abiding relationship, we find the wisdom to live. Wisdom is a patient, ever-present, and generous teacher.

There are no shortcuts to wisdom but the pursuit of God’s Truth has rich rewards. May we become increasingly aware of how priceless a treasure she is and in finding her, may we more deeply know the heart of God.

"You have to be in God's word and know what the Bible says. The Bible speaks to the source of our issues."

"There are times where we won't understand the whys of God's direction. It's part of living by faith."

"Our faith is worked out through sanctification."

Chelsey is sharing such an encouraging word on staying in the Word. You'll find some gold nuggets throughout the entire conversation. Here's a few!

*"The condition of my prayer life often shows the condition of my heart."

"When we seek HIs understanding, we see our missteps. Psalm 119 is a beautiful prayer and invitation and gift."

"When we're walking in wisdom and growing in understanding then we're actually living in surrender."*

About Chelsey:

Chelsey lives in the sweetest little suburb Westerville, OH with her husband, Corey, and their sweet 2-year-old son, Camden. She is the host of the weekly aired Living With Less Podcast which focuses on living with less of the things getting in the way of who Christ is calling us to be. Chelsey loves her local church and serving in women’s ministry where she gets to watch Jesus change women from the inside out. You can find more about Chelsey by visiting her website www.chelseydematteis.com and tune in to the podcast on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.

Welcome to Season 3 of the Exhale podcast! We're thrilled to have Alex Seeley on the show today. This season we're talking about getting back to the basics of prayer and finding wisdom.

Today's guest, Alex Seeley, is a passionate communicator and teacher of the Word. Possessing a unique ability to reveal how the Word of God is applicable to our everyday lives, Alex shares openly about how the power of God has proven real in her own life. Known for her boldness and tenacity, you’ll love the way Jesus shines through her. Born and raised in Australia, Alex served as an Executive Pastor at a church in Melbourne for nearly 20 years.

Having relocated with her family to Nashville in 2012, Alex and her husband Henry, began to open their home on Tuesday nights. Their heart was for people to worship, encounter God and build genuine community in a city where people's personal and spiritual lives often succumb to the transient nature of 'life on the road'. By February 2014, their basement was filled to capacity and as a result, The Belonging Co. church was born. The vision of the Belonging Co. is for people to experience Jesus in an authentic way that affects every area of their life. Encounter over entertainment, intimacy over industry, and presence over presentation continue to be the mandate for the church.

As Senior Pastors of the Belonging Co., Alex and Henry call Nashville home where they live with their two children, Holly and Taylor.

She is also the author of Tailor Made and The Opposite Life. We highly recommend these reads!

We are wrapping Season 2 of the Exhale podcast by handing the mic over to co-hosts, Annette Yanez and Cassie Cooper!

In this season we've had conversations that have brought pivotal perspectives around the word Purpose and its meaning and process. Be sure to download and listen to them all!

God has a plan for your life to impact the world around you. The definition of purpose is the reason for which something is done or created, or for which something exists. We've heard testimonies and teachings on the ever-unfolding adventure of discovering purpose.

Sometimes we have to let go of certainty and become friends with uncertainty. Purpose becomes more defined with each step of faith and obedience.

Looking to Jesus is and will remain the point of the process. As we run this race, it is He we who we run to and He who we run for.

If you have been encouraged by the Exhale podcast, we'd be so grateful if you would rate and leave a review here so others can find us too!

We welcome Ginger Ravella to the show today! We are talking about:

  • The hope we have in Christ in pain and suffering
  • How God prepares us for our future
  • Breathing oxygen into our routine

Ginger Gilbert Ravella is a military wife and widow, mother of five, stepmother of two, writer, and international speaker. At 36 years old, she faced the sudden tragic loss of her college-sweetheart husband in Operation Iraqi Freedom and the horrors that quickly followed. Her late husband, Major Troy Gilbert, an Air Force F-16 pilot, gave his life while saving over twenty Special Operation soldiers, defining a true American war hero.

Major Gilbert left behind five beautiful children, all under the age of 9 years old. Ginger’s openly genuine testimony of wrestling with God in the midst of despair and depression resonates with those who question their faith and future in the face of tragedy. Their private pain became front-page news time and time again over the amazing ten-year journey of bringing Troy home to U.S. soil.

Ginger works tirelessly to minister to widows through Never Alone Retreats as well as supporting and raising funds to help fallen and disabled veterans and their families. She is an international speaker and author devoted to her God, her family, and her country. She is remarried to another widower and USAF fighter pilot, Colonel (Ret) Jim Ravella, who lost his wife to breast cancer.

Their profound inspirational memoir, titled “Hope Found”, is a collection of personal stories beautifully woven together with real-life struggles, vulnerable faith, and unshakable patriotism. They document their stories of suffering, the lessons they learned, and the path to finding joy again. Their personal mission is to encourage anyone who seeks reconciliation and peace when life hurts the most and to continue to serve their nation by serving others. A portion of the proceeds of their book goes to helping fallen military families and breast cancer patients. Ginger and Jim currently reside in Franklin, TN with their children.

Today's guest for the Exhale podcast is Jaime Jamgochian. I'm sitting down with co-hosts Anna Lise Lillard, Annette Yanez, and Cassie Cooper for this encouraging conversation on finding purpose in the waiting.

Through her contagious smile, songs of hope, and down to earth ways, Jaime has ministered all over the globe. There is a sweet presence of God you will sense as she plays, sings, and shares about the one who set her free.

She came to know the Lord at 21 while studying music at Berklee College of Music in Boston. God completely changed her life and it is her greatest desire to see people encounter Jesus in a real way.

From Boston, Jaime ended up in Seattle where she was a worship leader, and began writing her own worship songs. It was during that time in Seattle that Jaime signed with Centricity Records and went on to record three albums with them. She moved to Nashville, TN where she still calls home and continues to travel throughout the US and internationally leading people in worship, singing songs of hope, and sharing a message of finding value and purpose in Christ.

Whether leading as a guest at churches, conferences, or on various tours her heart is still to see people encounter the presence of God. Several of Jaime’s singles are still being played on Christian radio stations & many churches are incorporating them in their Sunday morning worship setlists. “The Stand”—one of Jamgochian’s favorites to lead because of the theme of “surrender”—is one of her highest radio charting songs to date, falling in line with a discography that includes two full-length albums on Centricity Records. One of her most well-known original songs “Hear My Worship” spent 12 weeks at #1 on national Christian radio and she was the #1 Inspirational artist on the Billboard charts in 2008.

Since 2013 Jaime was involved with the team at The Belonging CO. a church movement in Nashville, TN serving and on staff for a season.

Her health took a real hit at the end of 2018 when she discovered a neurological Lyme disease infection was the cause she had to take a sabbatical from touring and ministering. She is a fighter and although the pain at times was unbearable God lead her to a healing clinic in NY that specializes in Lyme disease. It has been a journey but Jaime is walking out her full healing and has just released a new album ALL THINGS based on Romans 8:28.

She has seen first hand how God can work it all for our good. Now thriving in health again, on the Aspire Women’s event tour and writing her first book.

What a treat to kick off Season 2 of the Exhale podcast with you! I'm eager to share this week's conversation with co-hosts Anna Lise Lillard, Annette Yanez, and Cassie Cooper! Many of us are wondering what’s next for our own lives especially after 2020. Whether it’s external or internal, God wants us to shake off the old to step into the new. "Whenever everything is stripped away am I going to choose to plant well? To sow well? When push comes to shove what’s going to come out of me? Don't miss today's conversation! I'm sitting down with co-hosts Anna Lise Lillard, Annette Yanez, and Cassie Cooper having a discussion with special guest Tarn Cross. Though she lives in Nashville, Tarn is from New Zealand and is a global speaker, a Pastor to Pastors, and Leader of Leaders.

Here's a few truth bombs from today's episode:

"God chose the time in history you would be here. Heaven is not surprised by 2020."

"If we look at things at face value we will often come to the wrong conclusions. It’s so important to look at things through the eyes of the Spirit and ask God what is He doing."

"Fear and Faith are both believing for something that hasn't happened to happen. Both can’t co-exist. We can't take our cues from what the world is saying. We need to know what God is saying."

We will discuss how God restores, repairs, renovates and reappoints. If you’re feeling like you need to catch up or make up for what you feel is lost this year, be encouraged and reminded of this: 2020 did not catch God by surprise. You will hear hard-won wisdom, insights, inspiration, and practical advice as we dive into Season One of the Exhale podcast!
