First Techno collective and imprint in Cuba's History.
It all started in Havana, year 2017. When nobody thought it was possible a group of young people led by Hioll created what would be the first record label of Electronic Music on the island, specifically geared towards Techno. Thus beginning a wave of events that would awaken the interest of many Cubans for this culture and also motivating and influencing other creators to discover and promote the phenomenon.
One of the fundamental purposes of the collective was to publicize the talent of Cuban artists who defended this genre and give voice to their creations. However the platform evolved substantially, to welcome new international artists, to become a wide source of dance-floor cuts with very good support from the industry.
Abstraction represents the bridge between the past and future of the Electronic and Techno music history in Cuba.
Born and raised in Rosario, Argentina, currently Barcelona-based, Vanina Buniak has been shaping the electronic music scene with her hypnotic and industrial sound. Raised in a musically driven family, she began her career in 2005, starting out in local clubs like Kasa Enkantada and the legendary after-hours El Sótano.Since 2007, Vanina has taken her energetic and immersive sets to audiences worldwide, performing at clubs and festivals across Latin America, Europe, and the Middle East.For nearly a decade, she hosted the monthly podcast “Fried Textures” on fnoobtechno.com, sharing her musical vision with a global audience. Franco Cazzola aka THEGOD01 has been active in the electronic music scene since the early 2000s. He founded Carnival Records and performed across numerous clubs throughout Europe. In Turin, he established the Nasty Music Basement, a collective production studio that served as a launchpad for several international artists in the electronic scene.In his early career, he focused exclusively on live performances, using drum machines, synthesizers, and various hardware. Later, he expanded his practice to include DJ sets as well.In 2019, he launched the independent label Humanoid Gods, which explores themes such as fringe science and extraterrestrial contact. Djoy De Cuba is considered the pioneer and father of the Cuban Electronic Scene. Co-founder of the Electronic Music festival “Rotilla” together with promoter Michel Matos. This iconic event started in 1998 with only 150 ravers and reached 30.000 by 2010. Poletni is a Cuban DJ and producer based in Madrid.
In his early days as a musician he studied percussion and piano, becoming part of various Garage Rock bands. Later he co-founded Under & Deep Events, a series of Techno parties on the Cuban scene. He has also performed at various raves on the island and is currently curating the UnderCast podcast.

With already some successful releases under his belt in labels like Green Fetish, Thump Out Traxx or our very own Abstraction this artist is making some serious waves around the globe. His sound is a combination of several influences taking elements from EBM, Heavy Metal, Punk and Old School Trance. He also teams up with Gøwther in the studio to give life to IR00049 another promising project.
As a DJ he have been resident of the acclaimed raves Pure Techno in Havana before the Pandemic. In his DJ sets we can appreciate the influences that he merge in his productions as well.

For this new episode of the ABSCAST mix series we introduce Augusto aka Rorschack, an Italian artist born in Taranto in 1985 from a family of musicians.
Since childhood he has developed a passion for music and instruments such as keyboards and drums. As a DJ he lived his first experiences in a few events between Rome and Florence. In 2013 he joined the Timeless Crew project, a 12-hour traveling underground party in the capital. His style can vary from Electronic, Techno, Acid to Post-Punk, Industrial and EBM. He also has already played in important clubs like Suicide Circus, Rote Sonne, Le Zoo/Usine, Tresor, ://about blank and Griessmuehle.
In October 2015 he founds the project CLOSER, a daytime party with Techno, Acid and EBM nuances hosted on a Saturday afternoon in the electronic sitting room of Masada, Milan.
His producer carreer has seen him release three tracks on different compilations by the imprints Ismus, Blush Recordings and our very own, Abstraction. His first solo EP will land very soon on the Canadian label Raven Sigh, featuring three original tracks and two remixes.

As a producer he honed his skills in the German city of Berlin where he worked closely with the local label GND Records, releasing two EPs with them. Nic Drumatic is an experimented DJ from Germany who started on the early 90s with a small sound system and huge motivations, playing a lot of House and Electro vinyls in many clubs, parties and festivals around his country.
At the rise of the new Millenium he changed his style of music and began to play the fresh sound of Drum N Bass. One year later he took a break from DJing and embraced some non-dance projects. In the year 2013 he rebooted his passion this time focused on Techno sounds and started to move bodies on the dancefloor again. In 2014 he became resident of some local clubs like Rotunde, Projekt-X, Schumacher or parties like Pure-e, Four Hours, Donner or Doria.
Since 2019 he has been part of the international Paralisis project.

Eighth installment of the ABSCAST mix series presenting one of the most promising young artists inside the Techno Scene in Cuba, Einsiedler. With only 23 years he is already a resident of two parties that makes up the Rave Movement in Havana and he is also co-founder of one of them.
His greatest influences come from Rock, Punk and New Wave. In his DJ sets we can find a mixture of this influences carried in a more current context and also some of IDM, EBM and Trance. As a producer he has released on our platform as part of the recent Formless Vol. 2 compilation and also on Gomboc Records from Buenos Aires and Ismus from Berlin, receiving very good support from the Industry. Michał Aleksiewicz aka Szmer is a young DJ and Producer from Poland. He has been active in European's Techno scene since 2011 and played in many events and venues such as Tresor or Suicide Circus in Berlin. As a producer he has released under several aliases during the years.
His djing can be described as obscure, powerful and very club focused. It has an excellent technique and precision when mixing and also is a very careful selector. His productions can be labeled as old-school influenced and very faithful to the early Techno roots and classic sounds. The Chronics is a prolific Geneva based artist who started off by simply playing in his basement for a few friends. We continue our ABSCAST Series with Røttar aka Zwei Gesichter, a Cuban DJ based in Malmö, resident of the "Rusty Nails" rave that takes place in Havana and the Swedish collective "Substantiv". He began his career a few years ago as one of the promoters and residents of the popular cuban party ASSC of great notoriety and respect for its strict door policy.
Having experimented with different styles of Techno his current sound can be summed up in the keywords: Acid, Raw, Industrial and EBM. His sets are usually energetic, intense and full of tension, where he uses spontaneity as the main weapon to tell his story. As a producer, is part of the Riot In Havana duo alongside Åre:gone and has several tracks released on our label, as well as in other platforms such as Gomboc Records, Voight-Kampff or Blacklapse. In this second ABSCAST we present Åre:gone, one of the founders of our platform and regular artist in it. With just over two years active as a DJ, this young artist has great support and popularity in the Cuban Techno scene thanks to his memorable sets and his residency in the well-known series of Rusty Nails parties that promotes Rave culture on the island.
Industrial sounds that intermingle with textures and atmospheres could describe the tonic of his sessions, but it really goes further.
