Are you the strong one, the mom, the CEO, the leader, the caregiver, or the woman with a dream?

If you have ever felt like the rug has been snatched from beneath you, I want you to give yourself time to heal. You owe it to yourself to pause and heal.
One of the questions I ask clients is, "What do you do when life gets tough?"
Do you isolate? Or, maybe eat your favorite candy bar and do something else? I want to share this talk with you to let you know healing is a journey and sometimes you have to choose to say, "I need to do this for me."
In my life, healing has taken more than time, it's taken God. There is no way I could have made it this far without Him. I want you to listen to this episode and know you are not alone. But even more than this, I want you to know your identity doesn't come from people or things.
We gain things and we lose things. People come into our lives and sometimes they leave without a cause or notice. This is why our need for existence must be greater than existential things.
One day I discovered my true identity doesn't even come from me, it comes from the mercy God has extended to me.
The good news is that she does heal. She does write the book.
She does recover.
She makes it because she trusts in God and when God is Your Defender you can't lose.

This is going to be good. I learned a valuable and hard lesson. I honestly believed I was doing God a favor by playing small. I don't know if I've ever been so wrong in my life. God didn't need my help. I've heard people talk about false humility before, but surely I wasn't doing that...so I thought.
In this episode I am going to share with you with you how I needed to show up differently. Don't be afraid to take the leap and use your gifts to the glory of God in a bold and unapologetic way. Today, I decided to record outside with the wind bustling through the trees and the acorns falling. I've reached a place in my life where I'm okay with being imperfectly perfect. Sure I love operating in excellence, but I have learned to give myself some grace and show up anyway. I want you to be there too. Social media has attempted to dictate what worth, true happiness and prestige is. So many are wondering when will my life be picture perfect too? But should the success barometer be based solely on wealth or what appears to be the “American Dream.” All depends on whose doing the dreaming. Wealth is more than finances, but also a mindset of contentmentent, hope and faith. Wealth is relationships where you feel valued, seen and heard by people who genuinely love you. Our lives and value were never to be based on a snapshot of someone else's happiness. “I'm me in the moment.” In the sad and happy moments; in the celebratory and temporary moments of seeming defeat, it's still me. I have learned God has been and is with me in those moments even when I wondered, “Why is this happening?” He was with me when I was leaping for joy. He was with me at the birth of my child and with me when I cried knowing I would have to raise her for a time as a solo mom. He's the same God in moments of joyful crescendos and temporary disbelief from trauma and tragedy. It all matters. Nope it wasn't “perfect.” God never said it would be. But you and I get to show up in a world that screams elitism and say “I’m valuable. I'm worth being in whatever space I occupy, and I'm imperfectly perfected. Yes, I belong here too.” I enjoyed recording this for you outside with the wind blowing and all. If your tuning in for first time or not go ahead and give a follow to be in the know of new content and more. It's a podcast where I share powerful vulnerable moments. Because I truly believe the world would be a better place if we learned to celebrate people in each part of their journey. As a woman of faith I know the Lord spent time with those who celebrated and he was also there with those who were cast down. We all matter. In this episode I want to wake something up inside of you that gives you permission to change everything that tries to hold you back. What are your thoughts saying? What are your emotions doing? Do you feel empowered and if not what will you do to change it? Don't settle. You were born with greatness inside of you, with God's DNA. Let me share a true story of when I was settling for a toxic relationship. One day God let me know I was settling and basically to stop it. Lol Yes we talk like that. He reminded me that I am royalty. Yet, I had to accept it in order to live from a better place. I want you to take some time and start to journal your feelings. Don't let them rule you. Ever felt tremendously discouraged. I did and I can never forget how God spoke to me. What He said challenged my limited thinking. Me God? But I'm broken. How can I be royalty? Let me share this with you, your identity comes from God. Not man, not your bank account and not the likes and dislikes on social media. It doesn't come from the bullies or even from negative thoughts about yourself tossed to you by the enemy. The entire phrase was, " You are royalty and don't you settle for less." I want you to know who you are and accept it even when others feel otherwise. Forgive them and stand in the truth. You are Designer's Original. You are Royalty. Don't settle for less.

I want you to know it’s okay to experience sadness, but to also find ways to deal with prolonged emotional distress. You see, sometimes our emotions erupt like a can of hot soda. It’s not that your mad about the toilet seat being left up. Instead, your angry because you simply want to be heard. It’s not that your upset that the children won’t go to sleep, it’s that you feel like you want to be in control of how you raise them. You want to be respected. Usually it’s not the last emotion that causes overwhelming emotions. There’s something else underneath the surface that is saying, “Hey, I’m still here. Let’s pay attention to this.” Let’s have a little coaching and encouragement session. I want to motivate you to shift your mindset and emotions. We’ll do an exercise to help move you forward in this area. It’s going to be pretty helpful. So grab your pen, paper or alternate writing tool. You can do this with God. Let’s get started. I’d like to share a message of hope and inspiration with you. I think we can safely say the world is in a very interesting place. Grief, job loss and financial deficit along with uncertainty can cause you to feel very unsure. It can be easy to wonder if God sees you personal struggles. He does. I know this on a personal note. During the most intense moments of my life, God never abandoned me. Instead those moments were used to increase my faith and show me of God’s undeniable love, grace and power. May the grace of God sustain you and give you peace.

One thing I have learned is there is a purpose to every season. Sometimes we are laughing, sometimes crying. Here's the thing absolutely nothing takes God by surprise. He knows about your WHOLE life. The struggles have made me stronger and increased my faith. How about you? Stopping by to say “Don’t give up in the middle. Flip it. Write a book. Make a course. Coach someone through the tough moments. Write a song, but don't waste the valuable lessons you have learned. Maybe it's time to flip it.

Most people don’t celebrate the caterpillar. They can’t see any worth in that stage. Neither do they celebrate the chrysalis stage, when the caterpillar is going through a severe metamorphosis. It’s not until it presses through the process and become a butterfly that it is celebrated. Yet, every part of the journey is necessary for survival. Your journey may be difficult at times. Your faith muscles may be stretched until you feel uncomfortable, but keep going. This is only part of your journey. There’s so much more.

Let me encourage you. In this episode I share about two very difficult moments I faced. One was the death of my mother and the other when my heart was broken from a difficult relationship. God helped me to forgive, heal and overcome the depression, anxiety and even grief. The process can be major, but somehow God’s love, provision and grace were found in the most difficult challenges. He didn’t abandon me, just like He doesn’t abandon you. I will refer to chapter 4 of my book “Don’t Give Up” where a caterpillar experiences a magnificent transformation after it almost loses it all only to be transformed after the transition. I’ve done many podcast episodes on different platforms, but this one almost had me clapping and cheering. You can make it friend. You can rise above every storm and you can achieve great things. So come one let’s faith up!

Ever feel like a caterpillar in a chrysalis? The thing is there comes a time when the caterpillar has to emerge. It can’t stay in the chrysalis any longer. Why? Because after the process there is transformation. As a matter of fact, it’s no longer a caterpillar after all it has gone through, it’s a butterfly. This is why we don’t quit in the middle. There is more to your story than the pain you have experienced. There is an “After.” Yes, I’ve said this before, but here’s a reminder for you to keep pressing. You will have to do something different. You may think it’s too big of a plan or vision, it may feel intimidating, but if God says “Go” you have to “Go.” Faith up friends.
