Beginning January 3, Tuesday evening practice will include a discussion period regarding Women Ancestors in Zen, the theme of Kyol Che 2023. Practice will occur online via Zoom, 7:00pm-8:30pm.
At the January 31 practice, we will have a group discussion about the new format, and then move into February and beyond with our shared January experience as a guide.
We will not hold in-person practice on Christmas Day, December 25 and on New Years Day, January 1. There will be online practice both days.
In this season of annual thanksgiving, would you consider making a gift of any size to Blue Heron Zen Community?
In an ancient story, a wealthy merchant made a large donation to the Buddha’s community and, as the stories say, received great karmic rewards. He realized that others deserved to reap rewards as well and he led an effort to gather donations from others.
A poor girl was distressed because she had nothing to give but old clothes. Yet when she offered them, her reward was greater than that of the merchant or anyone else because the gift was heartfelt.
As we heard in our annual Sangha meeting this past Sunday, Blue Heron Zen Community is fortunate now to have solid finances. This comes from the generosity of our members and past donors to annual campaigns and fundraising events. At the same time, we sometimes experience substantial need as we repair and maintain our building, property, and services.
If you are able to give any amount, please visit our membership page or donation page. If you are a member, please consider whether you could increase your monthly contribution. Blue Heron Zen is a 501(c)(3) organization and your contribution may be tax deductible. If your employer matches gifts, BHZC may be eligible for matching. This includes membership, donations, and dana.
Thank you for supporting Blue Heron Zen Community!
