How do you get ahead of your seasonal anxiety & depression? Tis the season to start thinking proactively to prevent your mood from falling.
In today's episode Lindsey Huttner, an anxiety therapist and coach, tells you exactly how you can use concrete tips and habits to keep your mood up and catch your mood before it falls.
In anxiTea, Lindsey shares all about seasonal affect disorder tips to use for prevention!
Those of us that suffer from low mood from the lack of sunlight in Fall-Winter can start to feel helpless. Feeling like the season is changing and there is nothing we can do about except fall into a lower mood for half the year is a terrible way to feel. We do not have to feel that way when there are real research proven methods to improve our mood and protect ourselves from seasonal affect disorder.
While your brain makes less serotonin when there is a lack of sunlight there are creative ways to get more sunlight, such as going out in the morning time when the quality of sunlight is different and improves your mood more than the rest of the day. The sun is still out early in the morning during the Fall as well but most of us do not optimize that time of day to get our sunlight exposure in.
Mini habits and tiny goals are the way to build yourself habits to keep your spirits up for as long as possible this season.
We change what can and remember, we can always change our perspective on the rest of things that we cannot change and prepare best we can to have a positive experience.
In Skill of the Week Lindsey talks about which tip you will implement yourself.

Are you ready to go from being stuck and complacent to courageous and capable of creating a business offering you the time and financial freedom you never dreamed possible? I’m excited to introduce you to Amy Porterfield, host of top-rated podcast, Online Marketing Made Easy, and a 9-to-5 escapee who built an 8-figure online business on her terms. Today on the show, we talked all about having to get more comfortable not being for everyone. Her new book, Two Weeks Notice, is released and you can get it anywhere books are sold. In today's episode Lindsey Huttner, anxiety coach and therapist, interviews Amy Porterfield to get all the information you need to have the plan that will get you out the job that is causing you anxiety and into your own journey.
Let me ask you a question…whose dream do you devote most of your days to? A third of our lives are spent working. If that truth makes your heart sink because you know you’re spending so much of your precious time helping your company’s “bottom line,” you’re not alone.
Most people have been led to believe that entrepreneurship is only for a chosen few — the ones with connections, a nest egg, and original ideas you could never compete with. But most people are wrong. Building your own business has never been more accessible.
In an age of collective uncertainty where 73% of employees are considering leaving their jobs, only 20% of people are passionate about their jobs, and the pandemic highlighted the importance of living on purpose, this is the book we need to create massive change.

Research gives us valuable information about anxiety and hope for what works to heal our anxiety to live meaningful lives.
In today's episode Lindsey Huttner, an anxiety therapist and coach, will give you information found in research studies, from Harvard to the University of Toronto, that may help you decide where to focus your energy in your life.
Research from the University of Toronto found that 40% of people with anxiety recovered to not have any anxiety symptoms and meet the measures for "complete mental health" in their study. They found that around 12% of Canadians have suffered from anxiety disorders. They found factors that these people who recovered from anxiety shared were using spirituality for coping and having at least one person they have a close relationship with. The article can be found here:

Lindsey shares information that comes from a Havard research study where they studied a group of people for over 75 years. They generated tens of thousands of data and research on this group of people and the biggest lesson they learned from them was that quality relationships matter the most.
Those that had quality close relationships at age 50 were in the best health by age 80. Healthy close relationships were more significant predictors of good health than cholesterol levels. Read the research here and watch the TED talk:

Intrusive thoughts are much more common than people realize. Intrusive thoughts are unwanted thoughts that pop into our head without warning, often distrubing and distressing in their content.
Everyone has intrusive thoughts at some point. Our minds generate random unpleasant dark thoughts from time to time. It is no surprise to me that my most viral instagram reel is about relaxing and then a random thought of "what if someone I know dies in a car crash" pops into your head. It has received more likes and shares than any other post I have done! It is relatable because it happens to everyone.
Sometimes intrusive thoughts get stuck. When they get stuck and it is repetitive or has a theme to it that crops up often, we can feel crazy. People with intrusive thoughts are scared to share them because they do not want someone to think they really feel that way. Thoughts are not real desires or wants.
In today's episode Lindsey Huttner, an anxiety therapist and coach, will give you the way to deal with intrustive thoughts, she also shares about her own experience with intrusive thoughts around existential anxiety which led her to find her own therapist.
Lindsey also shares how to support someone you may know that experiences intrusive thoughts.

Don't try new things when it comes to improving your habits. Instead look back at yesterday, what did you do that felt good? Maybe you took a walk and felt more energy after. Make note of that and copy & paste that action today. Maybe you had some veggies with your dinner, copy & paste that again since you recognize it made you feel better. Maybe you had coffee with a friend and left feeling lighter and more connected to others. We want to review what we are already doing that makes us feel good and fills up our soul. We can use those actions that work for us and do more of them. Goal setting often focuses on lack, deprivation, cutting things out and not doing things. If we shift our focus to doing MORE it can really help your mindset. Do more of what made you feel better, more fulfilled and reduced your stress level.
In today's episode Lindsey Huttner, an anxiety therapist and coach, will give this perspective setting yourself up to have more fulfilling days by doing more.
In anxiTEA Lindsey gives you another Kardashian tidbit that relates to why the long way is the best way, without shortcuts or quick fixes.

I don't believe everything happens for a reason and in today's episode I talk about how to think of grief & loss in a more helpful way. The pain does not go away with time but you gain more space around it to hold other meaning at the same time.
Grief and loss at first are a giant black ball inside a mason jar. They take up the entire jar. There is no room for anything else. Over time that jar changes to be bigger, like a casserole dish. The black ball is the same size. It is just as painful and just as prominent. It does not go away. The space around it gets bigger so that you can hold other things with meaning in your life at the same time. You can have both. The pain, loss and grief AND meaning, love, and joy. It is messy but both can be true at the same time.
In today's episode Lindsey Huttner, an anxiety therapist and coach, will give this perspective on loss and grief as well as an action item of the week to drop the ball! Don't worry about the little things you forget during the week and give yourself grace!
