Reading For The Soul is a literacy-focused podcast hosted by mom and daughter duo for parents seeking to learn how to be their child’s best literacy and educational advocate by introducing engaging diverse books, building a stronger parent/child bond and cultivating young leaders who read, write, speak, and advocate for themselves in society.
"Everyone is a genius. But if you judge a fish on its ability to climb a tree, it will live it's whole life believing that it's stupid. " This is a quote often credited to Albert Einstein which begs us parents to think about what are a child's strengths and are those strengths being cultivated.
In this episode you will learn:
- How to discover where your child's strengths lies
- Why looking for signs and confirmation by other people to see what is in your eyes will your child's eyes is important
- How the children's book Amazing Grace highlights how finding what's in your child's eyes matter.
Our job is to help facilitate and put in front of our children and help pull out of them what it is that that we see, and that someone else has validated and can see was in their eyes was in their hearts. What is your child's God given purpose?

I'm so blessed to be in the position as a teacher to see what motivates students to learn and learn at a high level engagement.
In this episode I discuss three vital keys to making that happen:
- Being in tuned to children's spiritual needs
- Tap into a child's intellect needs
- Academic needs through rigorous learning
We need to touch on all of these areas as we grow great children for their betterment and for their long term success. We want to leave this place better than how we found it.

In this episode I interview my 10 year-old daughter Madelyn Grace. During quarantine she decided she would write a book. As a parent, in order to create a more meaningful reason behind the often mundane mechanics of writing I wanted her to make the connection with her writing to a greater purpose beyond simple sentence building and paragraph writing.
