Sport Changes Life is a registered charity in the UK and USA who use sport to raise the aspirations of young people through various intervention programmes. We are based in Belfast, Northern Ireland and this podcast will help tell our story so far and introduce key figures in sport and the local community who describe how sport can play a huge factor in changing lives.
In this episode our CEO Gareth sits down with well known BBC broadcaster Stephen Watson, who shares his story as a sports journalist, presenter and pundit. He further opens up on his journey about his health, his passion for sport and the memorable moments sport has brought to his own life across the years.
In this episode our CEO Gareth is joined by Carrickfergus native Paul Gilmour, who talks about how he has carved a career in broadcasting and presenting, starting out on Castle FM right though to Sky Sports News. As a foundation who is currently shaping together a sport-led employability programme, Paul opens up about his love for sport and describes his advice to young people on what it takes to reach your goals.
The Sport Changes Life Foundation are delighted to be bringing you our first ever podcast! In our very first episode, CEO Gareth Maguire introduces you to the charity and provides an insight to why his wife Deirdre Brennan, Mark Marais and himself founded the foundation and how the story has unfolded ever since. We hope you enjoy.
