We are honored to have such a great team at Experience Church. Here is a panel of 5 of our women giving 5 minute messages about the character of God. Be encouraged
Our thoughts determine our feelings and even our destiny. If you struggle with thinking the right thoughts, these three tips will help you on the quest to change your mindset.
God is in the black, he is a generous giver. We're called to model is generosity. Are there areas in your life that challenge you in your giving of time, money and resources?
Jesus tells us to collect treasures in heaven that can not decay or get stolen. But what does this mean practically? How can we handle money with the right perspective?
The story of David and Goliath gives us insights about the call of God for our lives: it's active, for the present, for the small things, not just for one thing and it's for him - not for a place. Do you know your call?
Are you asking God for his help while he seems to be absent or not listening? Jesus promises that you will overcome thoughts and move mountains if you carry his words in your heart and speak them in faith.
God wants his people to show goodwill to each other as he is showing his goodwill to us. He also calls us to forgive each other. Is there someone you need to forgive in order to mend a wound in your heart?
We were born to serve others - and doing good makes us come alive. But we must put service over status, character over comfort, we over me and worship over wealth. Are you up for this challenge?
God the creator, Jesus the savior and the Holy Spirit the empowerer - the three different revelations of God's personality were already visible when Jesus was born. Have you experienced them all?
Baptism isn't a religious exercise or ritual - it's a life-changing experience and a supernatural opportunity to rise into the grace of a resurrected life. Have you experienced its true meaning?
Rick Warren believes: "There is no such thing as great people. There are only ordinary people committed to great dreams." Do you know God's dream for you and how to be commited to it?
Join Pastor Amanda McGovern as she introduces Pastors from all over the country who speak vision and blessings over the next chapter in our church - and in your personal life.
Without a vision, people stumble through their lives. What is our vision for the next ten years as Experience Church San Francisco - and what is yours?
Church is where God meets us - and where you experience God. Experiences that will heal hearts, spark faith, restore hope, save marriages and touch the lives of you and your family.
God wants us to be hopeful, expecting future good. This even changes our present condition. What are you hoping for? And how are you sharing your hope with others?
The world is full of discouragement, but our God is an encouraging God. He wants you to be an encourager of others and yourself - and there are three ways to do this.
Are you condemning yourself for what you have done in the past? That's old news, no longer true and long forgotten by God. Let him use your past as a platform to show off how great he is.
Loving our enemies is easier said than done - especially if they reject us. But do you know what "turning the other cheek" really means? You might be in for a surprise.
God doesn't always get you out of something, because he sometimes wants to get you through something. But you don't have to do it on your own - he lives in you and is with you every day.
Do you have an elephant in the room of your life? If you avoid it, it will keep growing. The only way to wrestle it down is to run to Jesus and then run at it - and God wants to help you to make the steps forward.
Do you find yourself in a situation that seems impossible to resolve? The disciples knew that feeling, too: but with Jesus' help, they were able to overcome it - and he wants to help you to overcome it as well.
We all get offended in many different ways. But God's plan for you is to be free from offenses and become better, not bitter - and to walk through life free and uncluttered from the bondage of unforgiveness.
We are all being deceived about our circumstances, believing the lies of the enemy. God's presence doesn't fix these problems, but it changes your perception so that you can fix them yourself.
When you go through a storm in your life, Jesus does not always want to take it away. Instead, he wants to take away your fear of the storm - a fear that often is bigger than the storm itself.
Getting into a life of prayer can be intimidating - but we can defeat this bully of intimidation. Our panelists share about their prayer struggles and victories in their lives.
Worshiping God in truth means the truth about who he is and who we are in him - but it requires trust. Are you trusting in him, even if you sometimes can't see the way?
The man from Gerasa was possessed by demons, but he still ran to Jesus and worshiped him. It changed his life and relationships forever. You can praise Jesus even in your darkest times - have you tried it?
Sometimes, Jesus sends us out into a storm so we can learn to trust in him and to worship him through it. Are you calling out to God in the midst of your storm?
Instead of being self-centered, God wants us to make him the center of our worship. Is your worship God centered or are your situations dictating your worship?
The story of Martha and Mary shows us why it's important to sit at Jesus' feet: we gain strength, desire more of him and receive faith. Are you with Jesus - or are you working in the kitchen?
Father's Day Special: How does God's fatherly love for us translate to our love for our children? Mark and Tom McGovern share from their experiences as young and seasoned fathers.
God wants us to fulfill the purpose he has put in us. But sometimes we have to relocate to a place where we are closer to him. Are you close enough for his purpose to flourish?
God has a three-point plan for you to find true rest for your mind, body and soul. But are you willing to rest or are you too busy trying to control everything in your life?
God used Joseph's journey to prepare his character and position him to fulfill his dream. Are you trusting God with your dream or are you working on it for yourself?
The story of Lazarus reminds us that God's timing is always perfect - even if a solution seem absolutely impossible to us. Are you in a desperate situation that needs God's intervention?
Do you avoid confronting your brokenness? Jesus pursues it to lead you to the freedom that only he can bring.
God wants us to fully trust in him with every aspect of our lives. Are you still trying to trust in yourself instead of fully trusting in God? Here's how to change that pattern.
What does being a Christian have in common with being pregnant? Guest speaker Mark Francey explains how both change ourselves, our circumstances and the people we meet.
Jesus faced the most agonizing and loneliest moment as he chose God's will over his own in the garden of Gethsemane. How can his and the church's support help you on the path to your own breakthrough?
Prayer is the language that unites our hearts. With whom are you praying on a regular basis? Do you expect God to hear your prayers and act on them?
God is very invitational: he invites the thirsty who's unable to pay as well as the satisfied and self-sufficient. Which group do you belong to? And how can you respond to God's invitation?
We all long for acceptance, but getting rejected makes us feel alone. God accepts you for who you are - all you need to do is to accept his love. Are you ready for that?
We don't have to be alone to feel lonely. And when we feel lonely, we often don't know what to do about it or are looking for the wrong cure. Do you know God? He wants to bring comfort into any situation of your life.
God created us to live our lives in community, instead of on our own. Are you a creator or a consumer of community? And how can you change your behavior?
Transitions are a part of life. But sometimes we need to let go of certain things before we can move on to a new stage. Which things are holding you back? Which ones do you have to burn on the altar?
God's word provides a good antidote for feelings of worry, fear, the need to have more or to put our trust in material things: ten percent of our income belongs to God. Is this a challenge for you or are you giving freely?
God doesn't want us to walk through life alone, but to have close and personal relationships through friendship. How many close friends do you have? What are you doing to maintain these relationships?
Risky romance or lasting love - is it just by accident that some people are able to get ahead in their relationships? Or are there principles that help us to navigate through trials and challenges?
Following God's will does not always lead us down the easy road. But your trials aren't there to master, but to mature you. So what can you do when you are feeling stuck in your current situation?
Are you focusing on your near-term goals so much that you miss the big picture of your life? God wants to help you to look beyond your human vision and invites you to see your life through his eyes.
As children of God, we are part of a royal family - a family that needs to reflect this by living a royal life. Are you living a royal life with God and through him?
Putting God first does not mean to put our family, our career and our finances second - it means putting him and his kingdom first in our family, our career and our finances. But what is the kingdom of God?
We live in an overworked culture: most of us work over 60 hours a week. But God wants us rest and connect with him. Are you taking some time to just rest and connect with God?
Jesus tells us to seek first the kingdom of God. But what does this mean in our daily lives? Are we really seeking God's kingdom?
With 2016 just around the corner, five speakers tackle different aspects of their lives - and how God will make a difference in their and your next year.
God has given each of us a dream. A dream to hold on to and to protect, a dream that God wants us to fulfill through him. What are you doing to make sure that dream comes to pass?
What is the one gift that you can bring Jesus on his birthday? It's your worship - for who he is, for what he has done and for what he will do.
The church is a family, not a business. It doesn't build structures, but people - and we don't raise sons and daughters but fathers and mothers. Are you a child or a parent?
God has called us to use our spiritual gifts to reach others with love - because without love, our works don't mean anything. What areas in your life do you need to show more love in?
Salvation through Jesus is God's great gift for you. But what are the things that you need salvation from? And do you still need salvation even if you are already a Christian?
God has called us to be loved, to belong and to become. He will equip us with spiritual gifts to help us along the way. But how do we know what our gifts are? How do we discover them?
God has made a difference in our lives so we can make a difference in other people's lives. But what can we do if we feel that we don't have what we need to be a difference maker?
Finding God's purpose for our lives comes with two challenges: we need to find and we need to lose ourselves. Impossible? Not for God - and he has already set you up with people and talents to help you on the journey.
Religion builds walls and makes Jesus hard to see. Good news: Jesus is in the bridge building business to help people overcome obstacles, divides and walls - and he wants you to be a bridge builder, too.
Unfulfilled expectations, unrelenting doubt and unchangeable circumstances - these three big dream killers are trying to steer you away from your dream and your purpose. How do you get rid of them?
Do you feel that prayer is a penalty for your sins? Don't! Prayer is an enormous privilege: it allows you to communicate with God who desires an intimate relationship with you.
Do you find yourself in dark places by listening to fear? God is more than willing to meet you there and help you begin to operate in faith instead of fear.
How does your family serve one another? As the center of your family, Jesus calls you to serve as he does: selflessly and unceasingly.
When you are in a relationship with another person, you will have to deal with differences. They can lead to disappointments - but they are normal, complimentary and completive. How will you respond to them?
You might fill your living room with photos of the past - images frozen in time. But what picture do you have of your life and your future? And who is in it?
Where is your heart right now? Is it beating for God, other people, his house? Is it blessing others? Is it pure? In the last part of our message series "Pigs & Pearls", six speakers tag team to tackle these topics.
Samson had the call of God on his life - but his downfall was giving in to the temptations of a Philistine woman. What compromises are you making in your life? Are you partnering up with people who reject God?
Another set of pearls are God's promises for our lives - and they can be trampled by the pigs of missing revelation. But even if you can't see God's purpose, he always delivers on his promises.
God wants us to be well nourished. But our nourishment doesn't come from just knowing his will, but from doing it: to minister and meet the needs of hurting people. Who in your life is hurting? Whom do you need to reach out to?
One of God's pearls is his purpose for our life. But there will be people, situations and temptations - the pigs - that trample on it and cause us pain. How can we grow through this pain?
God's power is ready to change your life today - and to change you from "a certain person" to "his child". Are you willing to exercise your faith?
What is holding you back from getting through the storms in your life? Is it fear? Fear makes it hard to recognize Jesus - and fear makes you as afraid of the solution as of the situation.
How faithful are you in your devotion to God? In the midst of your troubles, God has not abandoned you. He promises to draw near to you as you draw near to him.
Are you becoming who you were or are you becoming who you are in Christ? Only through his death we can reach our full potential.
Taming our tongue is good and important, but that's not everything we can or should do. Our tongue connects our earthly experience with God's realm. How can we use it to build our faith?
On average, we spend a fifth of our lives talking. But are we doing it with an untamed tongue? God wants to teach each of us how to put our tongue in its place.
Does your faith grow or is it asleep? God has given each of us a measure of faith - and to grow it, we must use and express our faith through works.
Do you find yourself judging others? Not even in a little way? Whether it's justified or not, Jesus calls us to be impartial, because his church is a safe house from judgement.
Do you believe that being poor means that you are more holy? That being rich means that you have earned God's blessings? Both beliefs are wrong - and it's not about what you have, but what you do with it.
Have you encountered the Lord and not even known it? As the woman at the well experienced, your past does not matter: Jesus is eager to reveal his love, grace, and life giving power to you.
It's normal and okay to be around Jesus and still have doubts in him or in yourself. Doubt doesn't stop God from using you - but he wants you to move from doubt to faith.
Five mothers share about chosing joy in all circumstances, speaking positive if you want to see the positive, slowing down and setting aside your plans and lists and cherishing moments instead, that you are never alone and about covering your (future) kids with love and seek the Lord fervently for them.
How are you dealing with distractions that keep you away from communicating with God? Right at the beginning of his book, James shows us a great method to cut through the noise and busyness of today's life.
Heaven is God's ultimate grace. Heaven is not boring and not make-believe, despite what some people want to tell you. But heaven is not something that you can put off until later.
God's mighty grace does not just work through individual believers. When we are filled with God's grace and come together as one to operate in our gifts, cities and nations are transformed.
God wants to astound you with his grace. He is constantly thinking of how to bless you - not how to curse you. Focus on him, not on your own efforts.
How do you respond to the good news that forgiveness and grace are completely free and unmerited? Do you point fingers and condemn others or do you embracde it wholeheartedly?
Cities are important for God as places of influence, potential, reach and mission. You might think that your city is there for you - but God's plan is for you to show his grace to your city.
Are you feeling burdened by your past and the judgment of others? Jesus has your back, but he wants you to leave your sinful life behind and to be transformed by the power of his grace.
A very practical way to experience God's grace is having communion with one another. Are you participating in it routinely and without much consideration? Then Paul's words are here to remind you what it really means.
Don't change the subject with God: his subject is grace, but we want to make it into religion. But religion will cause you to miss what God is trying to do through you.
Are you trying to earn or justify your gift of grace? Jesus' story of the prodigal son and his father reveal the fullness of God's "undignified" grace.
You may know the story of the sick man at the pool of Bethesda. But did you know that his condition, concerns and convictions are exactly the same ones that we can have as Christians today?
The biggest distinction of our lives should be God's presence on us. But too often we are happy with God remaining in the background. How can we experience God's presence in our church and our lives?
When God's presence is with us, we look, act and feel differently. But just experiencing his presence is not all there is - we need to release it into other people's lives and situations.
Have you seen God lately? And which face of God is it that you need to see most in your current situation: servant, advocate or king?
What is the meaning of your life? Wealth, fame, power, the partner and the house of your dreams? Solomon had all this. But he came to a conclusion that might surprise you.
What sets each believer apart from everybody else? The everyday reality of God's almighty presence. This new message series wants to stir up your hunger for God's tangible presence in and around your life.
Five pastors and church members are talking about times and seasons of transition, innovation, discretion, mission and decision in their lives - and how they felt God's presence in each moment.
Everyone who was in some way connected with Jesus' birth responded with genuine joy and worship. You can respond in the same way - even if your season has been anything but joyful or praiseworthy.
When the first Christmas happened, a major change took place in the lives of those involved. Their responses ushered in the greatest blessing on Earth and made history. How do you respond to change?
Life isn't one fluid, unobstructed movement of progress. Instead, it's a collection of different times and seasons. Are you happy in your current season? Or are you wishing you were in a different one right now?
Can a burial be reason for celebration? Yes, if that burial is a baptism - the death of our old self, followed by our resurrection into a new life with Jesus.
Fear of exposure, disapproval and loss can ruin our relationships just like it ruined the relationship between God and Adam and Eve. The antidote to fear is God's love - and there are three steps that we can take to live in it.
The paralyzed man's external condition was obvious - but what needed Jesus' attention was his internal condition. Just like him, Jesus came to transform you on the inside as well as on the outside.
Don't avoid the pain of change - if you become comfortable in the good, you will never reach the great. God has a word for every area of your life, but are you willing to listen to him?
Our own efforts will never be good enough - if we want true change and transformation, we need the Holy Spirit to fill us and and to fill our meetings with his presence.
God operates in different ways and different orders than we do - but he is really good at getting us to where he wants us to go.
The further you are getting away from God, the more trouble you are going to have in your life. But the closer you are getting to God, the more your life is going to be transformed.
God isn't in the business of doing mediocre things. But in order to partner with him, we need to draw near to him, be ourselves, let go of our bad attitudes and be constantly filled by the Holy Spirit.
Most believers are not in danger of ruining their lives - they are in danger of wasting them. How satisfied are you with the Christian life you have settled for? It's time to let go what's been holding you back and to dream big.
This month's Lab is the third in our "Hearing from God" series. This time, our topic is: How can we hear what God is telling us about other people - and how do we deliver his message?
Without a prophetic vision and without a motivating cause, we will grow careless and become apathetic. Vision however is the greatest deterrent to sin.
