Last year was a roller coaster of emotions of all kinds. I lived to the extreme many times and with each experience, I learned and grew as a human being. I thank life for the new people I met on this platform, like @enmymente and @danielvehe, as well as the new friends I made like @syllem who always has a word of encouragement, a message loaded with good vibes, @osismi for her support at all times and @germanandradeg for always being close.

The other friends of the platform are the same as always, my faithful readers, my support, the ones I've known since 2017, when I took my first steps here. They know who they are.

To all... Total thanks!

There are moments that definitely hurt, attitudes from people we never thought would hurt us and in this case, I needed to vent and tell you about my ex-husband's last one. With this that he did to me, it has made me open my eyes and realize how harmful many people are and that I have been surrounded by them because I am a person who does not like to argue, that I prefer to have peace than to be right but this time I reached the limit.

Maybe because so many things have happened to me this year that I think it has helped me to wake up and understand that many people condition the affection they say they have for me, according to their interests.

And I've reached the limit, I've had enough of being so silly, of being silent, of putting up with it so as not to argue. And I know that the result is that now they call me crazy because I exploded and I left work because my boss is the most toxic human being I have ever met, because I have realized who are really those who say they love me and it is not so, but they are interested in getting something from me.

But I feel at peace, I feel calm. I got rid of the emotional garbage, the heavy cross that I wanted to carry myself.

It is healthy to cleanse the soul and get rid of what hurts us.

Thanks to those who accompanied me in this video and listened to me. I needed to talk.

I have learned to be alone, I have learned to love my loneliness without fears, without fears, I have learned to love my mistakes, my battles, my fears and my tears.

I have learned to use my solitude as a space for personal growth and not as an excuse to let anyone in, for fear of being alone.

I have learned to discard those people who appear and disappear from my life, leaving me crumbs of what should be something great.

I am taking advantage of my space, loving myself unconditionally, loving myself beautifully starting today... and for the rest of my life....

EspanishHe aprendido a estar sola, he aprendido a amar mi soledad sin miedos, sin temores, he aprendido a amar mis errores, mis batallas, mis miedos y mis lágrimas.

I think that there is nothing better than talking things out because keeping them to ourselves only because we only gain from that, feeling bad and I decided that I don't want to keep making my life bitter for others, that's why I come here to let go of this burden.

CONTEXT:

Before I go into context, I tell you that I am in my car waiting in line to fill it up with gas. The line is quite long.

Ok, now I'm getting to the point:

Those who know me and follow me know that my brother and his wife came to live in my house for economic reasons and that's fine, since my house is an inheritance from our parents and although they (my parents) always wanted to put the house in my name because they knew I was the only one who paralyzed her life, her career, all to take care of them, the truth is that I, to avoid future conflicts with my brothers, I asked them not to do it.

The thing is that I know that when they go to live in the house, the situation would become difficult in every way.

I understand them because I imagine that living in a rented house must not be easy, even less so when the finances are going down and down and the income is at zero.

On the other hand, there is my sister and her children who are really excellent young people and keep their mother's (my sister's) house with the lawn well mowed and in perfect condition.

I have asked them several times to help me mow my lawn because I don't have a mower and the trees in my yard were quite tall. One of them, who is in charge of his mother's garden, always gave me excuses to come.

Then I had to hire a gardener who charged me "cheap" to fix the lawn, but he would not leave things the way I asked him to, even if I was installed next to him. There was no way.

The last time the gardener came last December and finally cut the trees, but left the cut trunks in the middle of the garden, claiming he had to leave because he had an emergency.

My nephew came home around that time and saw those full heavy logs there and I asked him if he could help me pick them up because they were so heavy and his answer was that he was very busy, that he didn't have any gas in the mower either and that the chainsaw was half bad. He always made one excuse after another.

December passed and my brother arrived in January with his wife. There my nephew was there to help him with everything. I felt bad because I had asked him to help me.

The worst thing is not that, but I found out from my sister-in-law that my nephew had said that he didn't like to come to my house, because it looked like a house of terror with so many trees and logs cut in the middle of the lawn.

I couldn't believe what I was hearing. But there was more...

He also said that he did not understand how it was possible that I had allowed the house to deteriorate so much and that he understood that all the maintenance of such a big house required money but that he did not feel like coming to visit me and that is why he never came, knowing that these are tasks that require the strength of a man and that a woman cannot do them alone unless she is obviously very strong; but now with his uncle here, he was provoked to come and help.

I thought highly of Miguel (my nephew), that's the truth. I thought he was a transparent guy and that he did not talk nonsense, but he fell off the pedestal. It is incredible that he never came to help me, but now that my brother is here, he does. Now he collaborates and spends his time in my house.

So again I opted to open up, to withdraw, to walk away because this hurts, it makes me angry. So mentally I sent them all to hell with no right of return.

This is my catharsis while in line for gas and I've been in line for over two hours now. Finally it started to move and I got my ticket which guarantees that I will be able to get gas today. It is unbelievable how an oil country has to stand in line to get gas that is not produced here, but in other countries. My son always accompanies me, but this time, he deserted.

Returning to the subject, what made me most angry was the fact that he (my nephew) did not tell me what he thought, why not be upfront, honest? Why go and tell someone else?

I have always thought that if you have something bad to say about someone, you should go straight to talk to that person and not create an absurd gossip that causes fractures in any relationship.

Whatever you have to say, say it to me. Let's talk it over and I'll state my reasons or defend myself, but let's discuss it. But why go and tell someone else? It's something between us, it's nobody else's problem.

The other thing that caught my attention is why if my nephew made that confidence to my sister-in-law, why did she tell me?

Suppose someone comes to talk bad about her or anyone else, the first thing I would do is to tell that person: "tell her, don't tell me. She is the one affected, she is the one you have to talk to, that story is not mine and I don't like gossip". But believe me, I would never tell her because I don't like this kind of gossipy situation.

What do you think about this?

The breast cancer is the most common cancer and the most common cause of cancer death in women worldwide. This is why the WHO decreed the month of October, as the pink month and the 19th of the same month, is the International Breast Cancer Day.

As many who know me know, my sister is a survivor of this terrible disease. Twice it has come upon her and twice I have beaten it. It has been a thorny and uphill road, but fortunately she has won the battle both times. This is why I wanted to join the cause I am about to tell you about.

In Venezuela there are non-profit foundations that serve men and women of all ages, especially those of low economic resources, who are attended free of charge, to provide information, guidance and support in an early and preventive manner. One of these foundations is "Senosalud" (breast-health).

SenoSalud has an agreement with a motorcycle club, who are in charge of making an annual route or tour, which has always been called "La Ruta de Lola" (Lola's Route). This name is because in Venezuela, breasts are called "lolas". On this day, all the bikers of Venezuela unite carrying some pink detail, it can be a ribbon, a shirt, balloons, a cap. We did this tour last Sunday, October 16.

The Route

Meeting point is at Urbanization Las Mercedes, in Caracas, where the headquarters of this foundation is located to bring a donation and they stay there for two or three hours, while all the motorcyclists arrive and then they make a route. Every year the route changes, but the meeting point is always at the foundation's headquarters. After the route, they arrive to an open air place where all the bikers gather to share and hang out.

In this final point of the tour, there are food stands, as well as a stand of the Senosalud foundation, so that those bikers who could not be at the meeting point, get here and can contribute with their donation.

There is a motorcycle club called Damas de Acero (Ladies of Steel), which is made up only by women and they sell different items with the motif of the day that is celebrated and the money they make with the sales that day, is also to be donated to the foundation. These same girls invite some cyclists who join every year to the same work and make a tour throughout the city.

As you can see, it is a big machine that works for the foundation. I had a very nice day, met many interesting people, enjoyed good company. The people who work in the foundation are people with a big heart, who love what they do, who seem to have been born to help others.

The motorcyclists who participate in this noble work, are also beings of great human quality that year after year, donate significant amounts of money to this foundation. My day was worth it.

In this video I want to tell you about an experience I had with my son on two occasions. These experiences made me lose sleep that night, because I started to reflect on the blunder that many single moms make when trying to give stability to our children. We make the mistake of wanting to overprotect them and we don't realize that we are making it difficult for them to develop in the future. With these mistakes we are clipping their wings, we are preventing them from flying, from developing in any area of their lives.

If we love them, if we love our children as we say we do, we will correct these mistakes before it is too late. They deserve a beautiful future, they deserve self-confidence.

Hello my beautiful people!!!

I love this kind of initiatives to contribute our humble knowledge to all new users and not so new but still need to learn. I have been here for four years, I continue to learn every day and I accept constructive criticism. That's why I join this challenge from my friends at @rutablockchain.

The video is in Spanish and for those who only speak English, I translate here what I said in the video.

What are the tips or advice I can give to new users?

First of all, avoid plagiarism. Monetizing or generating profits with other people's content is wrong. Both here on Hive and on all platforms. Don't "copy and paste" a piece of writing you saw on the web and pass it off as your own. Give credit where credit is due. It is preferable that if we don't have anything to write, we don't do it. It is better. I've spent several days without writing because I haven't found my muse and I'd rather be like this than fill my blog and the #hive platform with bad content.

It is very important to be creative, we all have something to contribute and we should try to make our content good and improve every day.

Don't be one of those people who, because they don't get a good vote at the beginning, throw in the towel and give up publishing. No, no and no. This is an ant's work, of constancy and dedication. In hive we have a wide range of possibilities to publish whatever we want, without limits because there is a community, a niche for each vocation. There are from mechanics, remodeling, food, desserts, travel, pets, cars, movies, TV series, books, makeup, poems, drawing, recycling, medicine, health to communities to vent and talk about what is hurting us and there we do catharsis.

If today you don't get the support you expect, don't let that stop you. Go on and do it because you like it and the time will come when, out of so many doors that have been closed to you, there is one that will open for you and welcome you with open arms.

This is important spelling, writing and presentation of your publications. Attractive images, ordered and well presented content. Remember that your blog is your letter of introduction to hive. If the images are your own, say: "Own pictures taken with my camera X, or with my cell phone X"; if the images are taken from the web, place a link with the source below each image. But as long as they are royalty-free. On Unsplash, Pixabay, PxHere and others, there are thousands of images for every taste and need.

These for me and from my point of view are the main tips I can offer you. What I can tell you is that in me you have a friend, count on me for whatever you need here or by discord. I know how difficult is the beginning and for that reason, I extend my hand unconditionally.

Thank you for listening to me, for seeing me and for reading me.

Your always friend,

Hello fellow members of this beautiful community that allows us to unburden ourselves and talk about those things that sometimes we have no one to talk to, for many reasons.

Many of you who know me, know how my relationship with my ex-husband and father of my son has been and perhaps you have labeled me as "permissive". And it is true, but I have reached my limit.

In the video I tell you in detail what was the trigger for my final decision.

I had rented him a storage room so he could have his materials and work equipment (he works in the remodeling industry).

Also in the video I told them that I would show them the photos of the conditions in which he left that space that served as a warehouse.

Besides the fact that he did not pay me for the last three months because he "had no money", he did not bother to take care of the place. And it's not that he didn't take care of it, it's that he trashed it, making it very difficult for me to put it back the way it was so I could rent it again.

As a consequence, my son, who is no fool, because he knows who his father is, even though I have always tried to rescue his father in front of his eyes, I speak well of him, his father himself is in charge of throwing all that away with his behavior.

He is not a bad man, no. In fact I am very grateful because he helped me 1000000% when my mother got sick; he would help me carry her, put her in the wheelchair, take her to her dialysis and sometimes even clean her up.

Before I go any further, I want you to see the pictures of how it left my tank.

He broke the bathroom mirror, burst a pipe, broke the window panes, never cleaned them, ripped out the electrical outlet, smashed the steps... it's such a mess that when I saw it, I felt like crying.

And since he is "a friend" I didn't charge him any deposit money to watch my back. My son seeing all this, called him and asked him not to visit him again, that he got tired of waiting for a walk to the beach with him, a trip to the movies or just to a park, where he doesn't have to spend anything.

That he simply doesn't add anything positive to her life because he doesn't help with child support either.

This all happened yesterday, when my son told him all that. He then cried and ranting against his dad.

Early this morning he woke up feeling sick and vomited like he never did before. Then he got a fever and is still sick. He just threw out everything that was hurting him, let it all out and said everything he had been holding in for so long.

Then his dad called me to see how Gabriel was doing. After I told him how I was and what had happened, I told him not to come home at all. That I thanked him for everything he did for my mom, but that debt was more than paid off and that since he was not a good influence on my son, I should respect that wish.

He told me that I should set boundaries, that I could not allow Gabriel to decide that. I replied that that was exactly what I was doing: setting limits for him, that I had had enough.

Tu siempre amiga,

It hurts because it's not the kind of life I planned. When I got married, I thought it would be forever, but it was not. However, I thought I would be a good father, but I couldn't give that to my son either.

But I don't want my son to grow up thinking I'm a sucker who lets himself be manipulated and doesn't know how to say no. That might cause him to unconsciously resent me.

For now, my son is still sick. A few moments ago he woke up to go vomit again 😞.

I know this is going to happen. He is draining everything he accumulated every time his dad stood him up to go out with some woman or just because he drank so much the night before, that he couldn't stop that day and didn't remember to let the little guy know he wasn't going.

He let go of every bad moment, every unfair scolding, every fault of his father and when these burdens are released, people usually get sick because they lower their defenses so much that one becomes weak. But this is just the push we needed to continue on our own.

I thank God for having the son I have, so mature for his young age, so analytical and so patient. And I thank #catarsis for the opportunity it gives us to vent.

From my heart to yours, thank you!

Your friend always,

En boca cerrada, no entran moscas".

Refrán popular.

Hola!!

Aprendamos a construir, no a destruir.

English

"No flies can enter into a closed mouth"

Popular proverb.

Hello, I hope you are doing well. I'm here to leave you a little reflection.

Those who know me, know that I like to analyze different situations from many points of view and draw my own conclusions.

This time I want to reflect on the comments.

My mom always thought that if we had nothing good to say about someone, it was better to keep quiet. And I agree and have always thought that way.

Many people have to tell others how they see them. If they see them as thinner, they tell them so and even imply that they are sick. And if they see them as fat, they tell them that too.

My question is: Why, do you think that person doesn't have mirrors in their house, that they don't know how they look? And worse, that she doesn't feel comfortable with herself, that maybe she is fighting a battle against some disease?

So is it healthy to come to rub salt in the wound, as they say? What need do we have to criticize, to make firewood of the fallen tree? Why don't we close our mouths or bite our tongues before making comments that, besides being obvious to everyone, can hurt the receiver?

It happened to me last Saturday when I went to a meeting with friends I had not seen for a long time. One of them upon seeing me, the first thing he said was:

->"Hey Ali, you're chubby".

I mean, hello... "I know how I look," I replied. "I have mirrors in my house". Her comment hurt me, because I know I'm chubby, that I'm not the same skinny girl I was a few months ago, and all because I'm going through health problems that I don't have to tell everyone about. I don't like the way I look and I feel bad, but unfortunately I can't do anything at the moment, it's what I have to live with until I can treat myself with medication.

So, when we meet someone we haven't seen for a while, instead of focusing on the negative, we could say for example:

"Hey how nice your hair looks, what a cute purse, I love your shoes, you smell yummy...".

My goodness, there are so many nice things to say and if you can't find any nice things to say to her, then don't say anything!. It's as simple as that. Let's learn to keep our mouths shut, to be discreet and above all, empathetic. Let's learn to build, not destroy. Let's not try to stand out among the others, making rude, discriminatory or any other negative comments.

This is the same thing that is happening to my son at school. A new kid, calling him wire hair, bad hair, coffin hair and I don't know how many other nicknames, just because my son has kinky hair. So? What's wrong with his hair? And doesn't my son know that? I have always liked his curls and until now he didn't care.

Have you ever noticed that generally judgmental people are full of visible flaws? That they feel good about making others feel bad with supposedly funny comments, making fun or making others notice the obvious and look at you as if you were a circus freak, and that deep down, such comments are full of venom?

There are those who, on the other hand do it without thinking, because they have no filter and say the first thing that comes to mind. That is also wrong, because we are not children, we are adults with criteria and reasoning capacity.

Do not throw your emotional garbage to others. Let's be empathetic, kind and when none of this comes to us, let's step aside, walk away before making someone feel bad and keep our mouths shut.

Before telling you about our experience last Saturday, I would like to introduce myself to you, as this is the first time I am posting in this community.

My name is Alicia and I am Venezuelan. I am a publicist, divorced and mother of an 11 year old pre-teen. I love writing, reading and watching crime movies, thrillers and romantic comedies. I don't like science fiction or violent murder movies or that kind of stuff.

This past Saturday my son and I went to walk around downtown Caracas, because I had already been told how beautiful and changed it was.

I say it has changed because until recently, the center of Caracas was a place of thugs, drunks and people of bad life. You could only visit this part of the city during daylight hours. After 1700 hours, it was no longer safe to walk around those parts.

But for some time now, the Mayor's Office corresponding to this sector of the city has been in charge of recovering all these spaces, giving them a beautiful aspect and also full of security.

And my son and I, who go out very little since the pandemic began, sometimes feel suffocated by the confinement, we look for an escape route in which we do not spend a lot of money, we serve to release tension and stress and also walk, eat some tasty dessert, and then return to the warmth of our home.

We decided to leave home at about 1730 hours. The trip from our house to the downtown area took us about 25 minutes. We arrived and parked quickly. There were actually quite a few people around.

Everything was beautifully illuminated by colorful lights, there was a very positive energy of joy. You could see everything from children running around the square, to young couples holding hands, to people dancing.

Others were chatting while having a cup of coffee at the various food stands set up there.

After walking around for a while, we sat down and ordered a coffee and a Venezuelan Creole sweet called "Golfeado".

If you haven't tried it, it is delicious. I don't really know how to make it (although I will find out the recipe to try to make it). The golfeado is usually eaten with guayanés cheese or also with queso de mano. The combination of sweetness and cheese creates an explosion of delicious flavors in the mouth.

After walking around a bit, we sat down and ordered a coffee and a Venezuelan Creole sweet called "Golfeado".

Then we took pictures and made two videos. One my son and the other one me. And ready to go back home, at 1930 hours or so, we came home, rested, relaxed and happy.

It was worth it.

Thank you for joining me in our adventure.

"Suena interesante" - pensé y me inscribí.

Quiero invitar a participar a @zhanavic69, @germanandradeg, @antoniarhuiz y @lisfabian.

ENGLISH Hello everyone, I hope you are doing very well. Here I arrived almost in the final stretch to join this fantastic initiative from the @aliento team, hand in hand with @escuadron201, which tries to allow each of us to share our experience within Hive, who brought us, how we joined, what they did to convince us and what have been our expectations and experiences during this journey on this platform.

How could I not join this initiative, if there is so much to tell, so much to say and so much to be thankful for?

My first steps

I started on Steemit in January 2018 and my user was @lichy, but some malicious person hacked my account and I lost it. Finally in March of the same year I managed to open this account with which I am writing to you.

My aunt @surika was the one who invited me because I write. Since I was a child I liked to write romantic novels to later translate them into cartoons. My faithful readers were my best friends. She told me that this would be a good opportunity to write because they also rewarded me for it.

"Sounds interesting" - I thought and signed up.

My first steps were a disaster. I had no idea how to layout a publication and my aunt didn't explain it to me either. I didn't know Markdown and HTML. Fortunately I watched some tutorials and little by little I improved. My presentation to the community was almost invisible.

Then my aunt told me to download Discord to post my publications in the different servers to see how I was doing.

It was then when I got with the Engranaje server and met @fermionico. That was a blessing for me, because he was the first person who believed in me, who reached out to me and invited me to be a moderator of his server.

I was terrified... Speaking into a microphone, having everyone listen to me and helping others? What nerves! But he believed in me and encouraged me. Thank God the team I had were beautiful people who supported me all the way.

Everything happened very fast. Suddenly I was a moderator on several servers doing live curation work, helping new users to improve their presentations.

We were a tight-knit working group. We worked together on all those servers and had a lot of fun.

When the fork to Hive happened, they went in other directions and I wanted to stay because I wanted to know about the communities that were being created.

Belonging to Hive changed my life. Here finally after two years in Steemit, my content was being valued and my posts from having 0.05, went up exponentially. This was worth it.

My goal is to stay on Hive and have the chance to go back to curating content in live curations on Discord or otherwise to help incoming users make their posts engaging, their presentation, grammar, spelling and writing impeccable. I hope to have that opportunity. God's timing is perfect and I know that time will come.

I am infinitely grateful to Hive, #aliento and @escuadron201 for this wonderful opportunity. Thank you for your time in reading me and allowing me and the rest of the users to share their different experiences and expectations within this great platform.

I would like to invite @zhanavic69, @germanandradeg, @antoniarhuiz and @lisfabian to participate. This initiative has no expiration date guys, so cheer up. That's what I read in one of the replies in the initiative post.

He ido a terapia, me he hecho constelaciones familiares y de pareja.

First of all, I want to introduce myself to the whole community. I'm Alicia and this is my first time here. I came to this community at the invitation of my friend and co-worker @lisfabian and when I saw the initiative, I decided to participate immediately, because I have things to tell.

On this topic, as my mom would say "there is a lot of material to cut", because it goes on for a long time.

The first thing I told you in the video is that when I was a little girl, I was bullied a lot at school. I grew up being very self-conscious because I was extremely skinny and very tall. So they called me "Oliva" (the wife of Popeye, the sailor). And when I would walk down the school hallway, they would yell that nickname at me and everyone would laugh at me.

I remember I would come home crying and my mom would tell me to play crazy when they made fun of me and little by little they would forget to mess with me. That was worse. If you act crazy, it's worse, because they know we are trying to ignore them and they make fun of us even more. I learned that over the years.

This happened until the 3rd year of high school. When I changed schools to study 4th and 5th year of high school, I thought that everything would get better because I would go to a school where nobody knew me. But guess what? In that new school I had also gone to study with the girl who had made fun of me the most.

There came a time when I was fed up, tired of so much teasing, and one day when we left school and got on the bus to go home, she was sitting in the back of the bus and I was in one of the front seats. The girl began to sing aloud about Oliva and I turned around and said to her, "Chama, how long are you going to go to school?

  • What's up, girl? How long are you going to keep bothering me? Don't you understand that I don't like women? Stop the fixation with me and look for love somewhere else! I'm stubborn that since you've known me, you do more than bother us!

I don't quite remember if those were the exact words, but the context is.

Of course, everyone burst out laughing and from that day on, Claudia never bothered me again. From time to time maybe, but since she saw that I was no longer having the effect her twisted mind wanted, I simply ceased to be her source of amusement.

I also have a brother whom I love infinitely and he loves me too, but when we were little, he also picked on me because I was skinny and because I have small teeth. I think that has marked me more than my episode with Claudia.

So I grew up with a lot of complexes. I got to college and I was an extremely self-conscious person and my dream was that I wanted to be fat.

I dreamed of being obese because I thought that as skinny as I was, no one would notice me.

Today I still have complexes and a lack of love for myself. I am a person who does not value myself and I feel that I am not capable of deserving something nice, that I do not deserve to be loved because who is going to love me as I am?

This is a very, very, very difficult subject for me and in the video it's a little difficult for me to talk about it.

As I was so lacking in self-esteem, I took refuge in my ego. You know that ego and self-esteem are not the same thing. When ego is high, self-esteem is low and vice versa.

When I began to realize that I was capable of attracting handsome men, my ego skyrocketed to infinity and I began to believe that I deserved everything. I had wonderful and spectacular boyfriends, but I was extremely overbearing with them. The result is that now I am alone and I no longer believe that I am not worthy of being loved beautifully.

I have gone to therapy, I have had family and couple constellations. I even started to study psychotherapy but I quit that too.

I wanted to tell you about these experiences because I know you will not judge me, you are on the other side of the screen and because almost nobody talks about this. Many of us have gone through these experiences during our childhood but not everyone is willing to talk about their bad experiences. Maybe I do it trying to exorcise these inner demons that have accompanied me since I was a child.

The funniest thing of all is that I am very good at helping others, at giving them advice, at being there whenever they need me. But I want to please everyone, I want everyone to be happy, I want everyone to feel good and I always try to do what they ask me to do, even above my own feelings and desires.

If there is one thing I can be sure of, it is that at this moment I am taking a big step towards my healing, because believe me, I had never been able to talk about this before. I had it hidden somewhere in my brain and when I read the post of the initiative, something in my head clicked and now talking about this, I feel that I removed a very heavy cross from my back that has not allowed me to move forward as much as I would have liked.

I thank you very much for the space and the moment and I wish each and every one of you a beautiful month of love and friendship. But remember that love is not a single day or a single month, we should celebrate and honor it every day.

Celebrate as a couple, alone, with friends, with your children, with your family and give thanks to God for the people who are with us, for those who are gone and give thanks for the learning that has brought tears to our eyes because it has made us grow.

I remember a time in my childhood that was very difficult. Dad was a dental mechanic and one of the materials he used to make dental prostheses was acrylic, and this material gradually ate away at his vision, causing cataracts in his eyes, so he could no longer continue working as a dentist.

With the money he had saved, he had to undergo surgery in Bogota, because the Barraquer clinic was (or still is) one of the best ophthalmology clinics.

My mom had to take the reins of the house. We were 4 siblings, mom and dad. It was not easy for her to support the 6 of us, pay the house utilities, pick us up from school and take care of the normal household chores.

He had to change us to a public school because he could no longer afford the private school and from having abundant food on the table, we went to eating rice, arepas without filling and grains because what he earned was not enough for more, in addition to his father's medical treatment, which was expensive.

Sometimes mom did not eat because she said she was not hungry, but now I understand that she did it because many times the food was not enough for everyone. The few times she was able to buy chicken, she would divide it by 5 and for herself she would only leave a little bit of rice and a wing. Always with a smile, always.

When I was 12 years old, I began to work selling Avon, and my other 3 siblings looked for a way to earn money, against my mother, who wanted us to dedicate ourselves to our studies, which she could not do as a child, because she had to work because they were very poor at home.

When we collected our first profit, my brothers and I bought 4 rotisserie chickens, with yucca, french fries and salads. It was a lot for six people, but all we wanted was for her to eat well.

Mom told us with tears in her eyes that she was very grateful, that we were her treasure and that what was happening in our economy was making us realize how little money we had.

Today chicken is one of my favorite foods, but it's a bit expensive and I can't always buy it. But I think it is one of my favorite foods, because it brings back memories of that stage of my childhood, of my first monetary gain, of that table full of delicious food after a long time and of mom's beautiful smile.

It was a very difficult stage of our lives, but in spite of that, it fills me with beautiful memories because it speaks of love, union, hope and solidarity and those memories make me cry, because it is remembering mom bringing us a little piece of heaven to the table, a little happiness with what was barely enough in rice, arepas and love. Some time later everything began to flow positively.

I ask myself: How did she make ends meet and how did she keep smiling in spite of everything?

Whenever she could, she would buy us chicken and she would keep only one wing, so that the rest of us could eat well.

Because that's how mom was, a little bit of wing, a little bit of rice, a little bit of love, a little bit of everything.

My reflection with these remembrances is to make us realize how much gestures and affection matter, and that love is in a simple plate of rice, in a shared chicken wing, in a hug. That we can make someone happy with a gesture, with a smile, with a song and that above all, there is family.

Thank you for allowing me to share with you this stage of my life.

No hemos necesitado oxígeno.

Now in

This past 2021, was for me and I know for the vast majority of everyone, a controversial year, a year full of questions, of doubts, of people who went to other countries, to heaven or who are still close but we can not see them because there are after-effects of this virus that took away so many beloved people.

For some time now and because of the bitter and strange moments I have had to live through, I always see the glass as half full. I have learned to stop seeing it half empty, because there is much to be grateful for. To be grateful for the good experiences and the bad ones, because from them I have taken the good and that is learning, growth as a human being, as a mother, woman and friend.

This year was spent in absolute storm, but you could always see the rainbow after every storm because if we are sure of something is that after every night, comes the day and although there are clouds and dark shadows throughout the day, I learned to see the beauty in each of those clouds, look for funny shapes and names.

This 2021 I reconnected with my childhood in a way I never expected. I always wanted to make peace with some family members that, out of pride, we moved away and time passed, the years. Many years. Situations that due to immaturity on both sides, mistakes of adults that resulted in the imminent fracture of family ties and the devastating separation of us children of that time, who were forced to give up our mutual company. The truth is that the pandemic sickened my maternal uncle and his wife and brought them to the brink of death. Thanks to one of their sons, we knew what was happening and all the cousins and siblings joined together to contribute money for their recovery, because we knew that their economic situation is not the best.

Thank God they recovered. God is always near.

Apart from this blessed situation of recovery, I dared to send an audio to my uncles, telling them that I missed them and that I remembered with infinite affection my childhood with them, when every summer I would go to stay at their house during all the vacations to play with my cousins, go to the beach, camping and be preciously spoiled by my uncles.

They sent me an audio back telling me how much they loved me, how much they missed me and how grateful they were both for the financial help we gave them and for the fact that despite the years, I still "loved that pair of old men" (their words).

Here I am writing and remembering with tears in my eyes. Tears of love, gratitude and peace.

Another of the wonderful things I experienced was the news that my son had been the brightest student in his class, obtaining the highest grades.

On the other hand, my sister beat breast cancer for the second time. These were difficult times that were overcome with love, care and a lot of faith.

And although both my in-laws died this year from health complications (neither from COVID), first my mother-in-law and a month and a half later, my father-in-law, it was good for them because they were finally free from so much pain.

Another positive thing was that my ex-husband finally left my house, although not on good terms, but it was the best thing that could happen, even if it was the way it was, because I felt liberated, happy and grateful to God because he would no longer be here in my house. It brought me an energy that I definitely did not want in my life. Now I am ready to go on with my life, welcoming some wonderful man, the one that I know somewhere is ready for me.

The leaks in my roof are still there. That gave me green hair but taught me to appreciate that in spite of them, I have a roof that protects me and my son from the cold. Everything else will come in due time, because God's timing is perfect.

We closed the year with the beautiful company of my brother and his wife who came all the way from Mexico to spend the Christmas holidays with those of us who are still in these Venezuelan parts.

My year was not very different from yours or other people's. It was a year of learning, of calming. It was a year of learning, of warmth, of rapprochement in spite of the distance, because rapprochement is of the soul. It was a year of losses but also of gains.

And my beginning of the year came with COVID for me and my son. We have been locked up these days. The fever is gone, but we are left with a cough, runny nose, muscle aches, irritation in the oral mucosa and loss of smell and taste. Thank God, it has not been as bad as for other people. We have not needed oxygen. I started on January 1st and my son a few days later.

But I know that everything is going to be fine. It is a divine decree. There is no evil that lasts a hundred years. For now, lots of fluids and rest. Thanks to Hive I can work from my bed, as I am doing now.

Thank you very much, I hope you liked my video.

¡Hola chicos!

Arriving in time to participate in this initiative that our colleagues from @rutablockhain bring for us.

I feel excited because it's the first time I make a video for this platform. I make a lot of homemade videos but I've never made one professionally. I ask you to excuse my failures because it's my first time.

In this video I explain that I have had many wonderful moments on #Hive and maybe mentioning just one, would not be what I would like.

I have lived wonderful experiences in these almost 4 years of life in this fantastic space. One of the most beautiful things I have lived has been to know myself. I didn't know that I could have a talent for handicrafts and also discover that I really like them.

For those of you who know me and have shared with me since my first steps here, you know how much I love writing.

Since I was a little girl I've liked to write pink novels, maybe because I used to be an incurable romantic (not so much because I'm cured of that disease, hahaha), but then I grew up and with that came different responsibilities that were adding up one by one and there came a time when I stopped doing it.

In January 2018, the user @surika told me about this world. I opened my account in January and started writing and in March it was hacked and I lost everything everything everything. I opened then the account I currently have and the road has definitely been a roller coaster of emotions that have made me grow a lot as a person.

I was one of those who didn't take pictures at all. With Hive I have learned to walk around with my cell phone camera almost active every time I go out because I don't know what image, view or situation may cross my path and the ideal would be to capture it in photos and then share it here with its corresponding description.

I have grown up with Hive. My first publications were a disaster because I didn't know anything about Mark Down. I came to stay, to grow, to bring people to join and make community. And Hive definitely came into my life to stay.

There are so many emotions, so many moments and so many thanks that I have to give to Hive and its different users that life will not be enough for that.

So I AM LOVING HIVE. Thank you so much.

I made the video with my cell phone, using the free FilmoraGo application. The initial music for the video was with the free application CapCut.

For the translation I used Deepl.com.

Con Hive he crecido.
