On this episode, we spoke with Dr. Don Haddad, Superintendent for St. Vrain Valley Schools. Dr. Haddad has been in education for over 36 years - he's worked for several school districts in a variety of roles including teaching, coaching and administrative positions at every level. He was appointed Superintendent for St. Vrain Valley Schools in July 2009. During his tenure as Superintendent, St. Vrain has been awarded numerous national grants and received several awards. Of note, St. Vrain is a leader in tech education and has developed a truly innovative curriculum that equips students for a future career in technology.
Dr. Haddad shares his perspective on effective leadership, how St. Vrain Valley Schools equips students with technology skills, initiatives they're working on to bring quality education to students across the state and the importance of growing the tech talent pipeline in Colorado.
On this episode, we spoke with Julia Richman, Deputy Executive Director for the Governor’s Office of Information Technology. Julia has a rich history in the public-sector. Prior to joining OIT in 2020, she was the Chief Innovation and Technology Officer for the City of Boulder. Before that, she spent a decade at Deloitte Consulting, leading projects that advanced business operations for governments, universities and non-profits.
Julia was recently honored by the Denver Business Journal as an Outstanding Woman in Business.
In the first official episode of Colorado Voices on Tech, we bring you a conversation with former Governor Bill Ritter. Governor Ritter was elected governor of Colorado in 2006 and during his four-year term, he established Colorado as a national and international leader in clean energy by building a New Energy Economy. After leaving the Governor’s Office, he founded the Center for New Energy Economy at Colorado State University. Governor Ritter wrote the book, Powering Forward – What Everyone Should Know About America’s Energy Revolution.
During the conversation Governor Ritter shared with Frannie the importance of global policy on climate change and more specifically, Colorado's role in clean energy.
